I had recently just attended a wedding at the Cambridge Winery Center, and although the space was beautiful and elegant, I am completely appalled by the way I’ve heard the bride was treated by the owner. To be scolded on what’s supposed to be the happiest day of her life, the bride and groom understood where they might’ve went wrong and kindly paid the price for it, but there is no exception for being a grown woman who was intentionally fear mongering the bride and her own staff. Not only was she unprofessional towards the bride, groom, and guests, I took it upon myself to possibly look at the other reviews to get a better idea of the establishment in total. While reading them, as I did see a good handful of pleasant and kind reviews, I cannot begin to explain how unprofessional and unpleasant the owners responses was to those that were not in favor of this place. I saw the responses to be very childish and I can’t imagine how mortifying it must’ve been to be chewed out and scolded by the owner on what’s supposed to be the happiest day of the the brides life. I would highly recommend looking into other venues.

Our wedding day itself turned out wonderful thanks to the staff & the Sales and Event Manager - Natalie Baumann. They were professional, kind, and did everything they could to make sure things ran smoothly. We really appreciated their effort and care.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the owner Laurie Peregrine. She was extremely unprofessional and actually yelled at me, the bride, in front of others. Instead of calmly communicating or giving a warning, she acted like a hothead and said, “you know what you did,” when in reality nothing had been explained to me.

To be clear in Wisconsin, taking shots is not illegal. What’s illegal is selling alcohol without a license. We even spoke with someone who owns a different wedding venue, and they said most places give three warnings for things like this. Here, there wasn’t even one warning just yelling and hostility from the owner - Laurie Peregrine

Yes, we understand we broke part of the contract regarding shots and we accepted the $500 fee for it. But the way it was handled was unnecessary and disrespectful. On top of that, the owner tried to add extra fees and tips ($150 more) without transparency. She even took her frustrations out on her own staff, which was very unfair, because they were the ones who handled everything gracefully.

We paid nearly $15,000 for the venue, food, drinks, gratuity, and additional tips so to be told her staff was “missing out” when she controls how much they actually receive felt wrong. Her staff earned and deserved every bit of credit, but it’s hard to believe they see much of that money when the owner behaves this way.

If you book here, just be aware: the venue itself and the staff are great, but the owner’s unprofessional behavior can cast a shadow on an otherwise special day.

I recently attended a wedding at Cambridge Winery, and while I’ll admit the venue itself is beautiful, and the staff were wonderful, the experience was entirely soured by the owner. At one point, I was lightly clinking my glass (a tradition at weddings to get the bride and groom to kiss) during a toast, and the owner actually scolded me in front of others and took my glass away. It was mortifying, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate for what should have been a joyful and special occasion.

A wedding should be about celebrating, not being treated disrespectfully by the people running the venue. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place for a wedding to look elsewhere. There are significantly better venues out there where you and your guests will be treated with kindness and respect.

Took a day trip to small-town Cambridge, WI and could only find one event that was open: Cambridge Winery. But boy, did we hit the jackpot!
Fantastic small plates, pizza, charcuterie and salad, accompanied by reasonably priced wine flights. Had we purchased a bottle of wine, they would have credited the sampling cost. Very considerate.
Cole, our server was friendly and efficient. Thank you, Cole!
The only downside was the traffic noise as we tried enjoying al fresco dining. But the grape vines dotting the front were charming and old world.
Highly recommend you give them a try.

A gem of a place with a team that makes the whole event planning process extra special! Celebrated my birthday recently at the fully reserved venue, and couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience! Natalie and the team executed beautifully - from food selection, to drink menu, to the decoration time allotment. They recommended a band, and allowed balloons to be delivered for decor, flowers, etc. Book your next event at Cambridge Winery and you won’t be disappointed!

Arrived at 4:25. Never been here before. Was greeted by Cole who told us we couldn’t drink outside because of the wind, when I asked. Told her we could hold onto our glasses and her facial expression told me it wasn’t an option. We drove 30 minutes to get there and felt like we were an imposition. Did not feel welcome. We knew we were a half hour from closing but just wanted a glass of wine and check out the options. Will NOT return

Couldn’t be more disappointed. Walked in with a group of 5 ladies at 4:25 pm (knowing full well closing time was 5:00). We planned to have a glass of wine and be on our way. We were promptly told that closing time is 5:00. We asked if it would be okay to utilize the outdoor seating. We were told that it was too windy and we couldn’t take the wine glasses outside. Cole was incredibly rude to say the least. Clearly she was more interested in closing promptly at 5:00 pm than providing any type of decent customer service. Needless to say the 5 of us will NEVER return.

Really enjoy this local winery right in Cambridge! The wines themselves were okay and nothing entirely spectacular and our server was not very friendly. I tend to enjoy dark rich reds and felt these were lighter and more sweet like most Wisconsin wines. We didn’t end up purchasing any to take home. The food however is phenomenal! This is a great winery to visit and spend time enjoying the eats while you sample or enjoy a glass. I really enjoy how open the space is and accommodates a large amount of people that can spread out so larger groups don’t bother smaller ones. They also offer outdoor patio seating.

My husband took me to this winery a few years ago for a date night. It was a terrible experience! The staff was rude and it was a hassle to get served. I wrote a FB message to let them know about our experience and they said they would send us some free coupons for appetizers or something like that. They never came in the mail and I am not surprised. Hopefully their service has improved since then!

We came for some light snacks and a tasting and ended up doing a flight with a full meal. I had the steak tip stroganoff which has great flavor, homemade noodles, side of broccoli was extremely memorable,full of butter and garlic! I only wish the steak was a little less cooked however, was still very good. The hamburger came with fried pickles individually battered, perfectly cooked bacon and we ordered the fries with a side of the Smokey Winery Aioli! That is just the food. We weren’t such about the whites and loved the St. Pepin most but enjoyed all of them. Haven’t finished the flight yet! 😎

I was a bit disappointed when we walked in and the first thing we were asked was if we wanted to see a menu to eat. I usually go to a winery to try wine. I did not see anywhere where they have wine tastings. You can buy a glass or bottle of wine but no tasting before to see what you like. They have a nice outdoor patio to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and conversation. The outdoor area could use a bit of maintenance as to the landscaping and the flags on the flag poles. The Wisconsin flag is so tattered that the last 4 letters of Wisconsin are missing from the flag. The wine was good but they need to bring a bit of pride in the building grounds and promoting of the wine into the visitors experience.

We have friends visiting from out of state and one of them wanted to come to this winery. Did not disappoint! The wine tastings covered all palates, the cheese plate had a great assortment, & the pizzas were delicious. Today,2:30.We have visited hundreds of wine tasting fares around the country. This is the most uninviting and cold environment we have experienced in the last 10 years. Employees where rude and service was only a step above what you might experience at a fast food chain. There wines are medioaker, appitizers are over priced,the the tablespoon of heated olives where the size of pencil erasers, the cheese plate @ $14.00 was a total disgrace. I have very seldom have given a review like this but, Cambridge Winery deserves it after what we experienced today.
There are many great winerrys all within 50 miles of Madison,give them a try.( Drumlin Ridge,Waunakee, and the many around the Baraboo Bluffs to name a few )

First time we drove over an hour to the winery, they were closed for an upcoming private party. The woman who answered the door was rude and said we should have checked the website, which we did, and it was down. Second time we stopped, we were told to seat ourselves and a server would come to our table. Waited 20 minutes, no one stopped by our table. Six tables were occupied when we arrived, and two parties left shortly after. Two of the staff cleaned the empty tables, another checked on an existing couple, and still, no one stopped by our table. Gave up after waiting so long, without even being acknowledged, and left.

But after buying the 2 tastings and 2 bottles of wine I spent $90 dollars with tip and I felt that was overpriced but that's my opinion. This is the second time going to this show. Enjoyed talking with the different vendors, but the lighting is very bad. The ones by the bar area and in the middle were hard to see the products. Nice place for tasting local wines. Food menu looked delicious and one person in our party ordered the Caesar salad and said it tasted very good. We had a marvelous time. Great service, intriguing wines (do a tasting, it was so much fun to sip and compare opinions with my dining companions), adventurous, robust, eclectic menu. It was an amazing journey for my taste buds. The atmosphere was rather romantic and magical. I had a lovely time. I hope they are open for New Year's Eve, because I so want to be there. And don't you dare think about leaving without purchasing a bottle or two. Big fan of their Syrah and something called Brianna - one of the most unique wines I have ever tasted. Trust your servers suggestions for pairing menu items with your wines... It adds a whole new level to the experience. Go. You will have a magical time!
