We had dinner at about 5 PM on a Thursday. My husband ordered a sausage sandwich and I ordered a pizza. The sausage sandwich arrived and he had his food gone by the time I got my pizza. The pizza was half raw. He specifically asked for light sauce on his sausage sandwich and was given a lot of sauce plus more on the side and charged for it. They did take the pizza off our bill, but was just totally disappointed.

Was here not 3 nights ago and the pizza was stellar. Tonight, 08/23/2025, it was 45 minutes to my table, crust ragged and burnt and didn’t have one of the toppings I asked for…but only told me 35 minutes in.

Something happened from Weds the 20th to tonight. I sure hope the kitchen restores itself.

Final blow…nothing taken off as an apology. Dylan’s service was very good and he apologized for what was brought as my meal.

My wife and I love the atmosphere here, especially in the summer when you can eat outside. Our favorite dish is the calamari, which may be the best I've ever had. We would eat here more, but the prices are a little high. I think the rent downtown is probably high, so they probably have to charge that, but I'm a pretty good cook and can make comparable quality pasta at home. But the place is packed with people every time we go, so they must know what they're doing. I would rate the service higher, but it can be slow and even a touch pretentious at times. Overall, it's one of the nicest places to eat in the area.

When we went the place was packed and had a bit of a wait on our food. It have us a chance to try a few drinks which included great wine, beer, and what looked like some tasty mixers as well. Got here a little early and was told the pizza was ready but still waiting on the calamari. I said that was fine and sat to wait. Then it took another 20+ minutes for the calamari to be done, which meant the pizza was just sitting that whole time probably getting soggy. When everything finally came out, the pizza was wrong and missing our side of balsamic reduction. Now the calamari was going to get cold and soggy waiting for a new pizza. I was given what felt like a very basic apology that my food is going to be half cold now after almost 1.5 hrs from ordering to receiving because they were busy and they couldnt help it. I was afraid to even ask for the whole order to be redone incase that a new calamari took forever again.

One of the best Italian meals I have had outside of Italy. It is definitely the best Italian food in the area, and one of our favorite restaurants to go to. There is almost always a wait, but it is worth it. Every dish we have had there has been outstanding. The bruschetta might be our favorite appetizer. The service is always good as well.

The only good thing about this place was the atmosphere and the wine. We just recently moved to Neenah and were excited to have a little slice of Italy near our house. We went yesterday evening for a date night and were super impressed with the atmosphere, how cute and quaint it was.. especially with the piano player! We ordered calamari as our appetizer, and I was so hopeful.. it was so salty I couldn’t barely eat it & it was not true calamari. $16 for a pile high of something that was frozen. We also ordered Caesar salad’s that just did not taste good. There was something off with the dressing. We ordered the New York pizza for our entree and it was just bland. The crust was so thin and overcooked it was like a cracker. I was super disappointed because we love supporting local businesses but everything about our experience with the food was just lacking flavor. We will not be returning.

We visited Cannova’s to celebrate my birthday with friends. Two of us arrived at 5pm, and said two more would be joining. We did not have a reservation but gave our name and were told to let her know as soon as the others arrived and we would be seated, no mention of a wait. The others arrived within 15 mins., but we were then told they were working on a table. A half hour passed, and the once empty tables filled up. The hostess/owner then asked if we wanted a high top table for two next to the bathroom. We declined, then waited another half hour before checking back with the owner/hostess again. She was very rude, said she didn’t know who we were, but then indicated it would be another 15 mins. Then she seated us up front within 3 feet of the grand piano & singer. While the singer was very talented, we couldn’t even hear each other talk across the table. The only saving grace was the excellent food and waiter, which is what the stars are for. I have no desire to return anytime in the future to deal with the rudeness of the host!

Met some friends for dinner at Cannova’s on a Saturday night. Had a wait before dinner, so we grabbed some drinks at the bar. Very friendly service and good drinks. We loved the ambiance and all the food was excellent. We ordered the bruschetta & cheese bread for apps and pizza, ravioli, and pasta as entrees. One of my friends insisted on the cookie & ice cream dessert, and wow was that good as well. The only negative I can give is about our waiter… He was super friendly and provided excellent service, but he did push upgrades & add-ons fairly aggressively. Personally I’m not a big fan of that. Overall it was a great experience and definitely plan on being back very soon.

went on a saturday night right when they opened and got seated without a reservation but honestly, i suggest making a reservation when you plan to go- the place got packed right away! the calamari, the new york strip steak special, and chicken alfredo were so delicious and the tiramisu was genuinely the best i have ever had. and not to forget our server, kiley, who was so attentive and kind throughout all of it! later, they had piano and a bassist come in which created an even more beautiful atmosphere. it was our first time here but we already have a list of things to try for next time and we plan to stay longer for the music!

Yup. It is legit. One of the best places. The crust on the pizza was amazing, the lasagna it's over the top. Even the cheesy bread, like the bread isn't too dried out and it's not soggy. It's like it's just right. And the sauces like I like Alfredo sauce but some places manage to ruin it. Not this place. Super good. And like just honestly the different sauce is try the different sauces. Oh, oh!!! And the root beer, Baumgartners. I had never tried it, and I like to try different root beers everywhere I go. I got an extra bottle to bring home and do some serious taste testing. It might possibly be my next favorite one.

Fine dining? No. Too loud to talk, yes. Mason jars with beer branding for your water glasses set the mood as very casual and therefore not worth the prices charged. Other tables received bread and dipping oil, but we did not. Waitress had no clue what a "house wine" is. Bruschetta listed basil, but parsley was on it instead . Balsamic was not listed on the Bruschetta, I would not have ordered it if I'd known. Balsamic is too sweet for my taste and ruined the flavor. Bruschetta is served cold, not heated to melt mozzarella. The Merlot I was served was acidic, not the worst I've ever had but far from good. Cesar salad was dry and bland. Adding more dressing showed that the dressing is bland other than being a little too heavy on the lemon. The pizza margarita flavor was slightly bland but at least had plenty of basil. The crust was very dense for how thin it was. Lasagna sauce was very sweet. For an unenjoyable meal for two, $90 is NOT reasonable. Only tried one bite of the lasagna, and the waitress just tossed her hands in the air in response to why it wasn't removed from the bill. The "boss" stated that "that's just the way our sauce is" and still refused to remove it from the bill. From someone who lived in Italy for 3 years and went back for an extended trip years later, this is not authentic Italian. It's not inedible, just very Americanized.

It was just terrible from the moment we were seated. Offered bread and oil. It never came. Waited 10 minutes for the waitress. She didn't know what a house wine was or is, a red flag. Plus, any Italian worth its salt has a house wine this place does not. Ordered Bruschetti and a large Ceaser salad, Took forever first, then Ceaser salad was absolutely the most unflavored salad from a bag chopped Romain Salad. The ceaser dressing was almost non-existent and was flavorless. Bruschetta had a balsamic glaze on it and was to the point of being burned. Just bad, I ordered Lasagna, a friend had Margherita pizza and a glass of wine. Wine was overly acidic and a low quality wine. Lasagna has a sauce so sweet it is almost live a sweet syrup taste to it and half of it was burned. Pizza was fair, but the crust is paper thin. Didn't eat the Lasagna, they didn't want to take it back, and the waitress wanted to charge me for it. Had to get the Owner or Manager, after my interaction with her I am convinced the problem here is an ownership in denial who will argue with customers when dissatisfied and didn't want to take the lasagna off the bill and didn't. Just added some B.S. coupon for 15 dollars off the meal. There's much wrong here. I really can't cover it all. It is just a place that is running off of past laurels and an older clientele that is loyal. Put this place anywhere else where there are real Italian resteraunts, and this place would close in 6 months. Pass it, buy. I mean, the lasagna and service at Olive Garden are better, and that's just sad. Leave this overpriced, unaccountable one alone.

My husband and I used Cannovas for our rehearsal dinner. It far exceeded our expectations! We chose Cannovas because the times that we went there for dinner, there was amazing food and live music. For our rehearsal dinner, we had a private room and had a lovely sit down dinner with all of our guests. The service was amazing! The waiters were very attentive and made sure that all of our needs were met. The food was delicious and fresh. Everything was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend this place!

Really wanted to like this place as it was my first time here, Honestly good food but not great service, they denied us dining on their back patio outside because of of my service dog then told us we could do take out if we wanted to and when we went to order they asked if we were “finally ready to order” we just felt very unwelcome and like we were more than a bother than anything. On top of that we waited almost an hour for our “take out” and we were gonna eat on a bench outside but it didn’t come with utensils so we had to drive 20 min home before we could eat.

This is exquisite Italian. With my family of deep Italian Heritage, it's easy for me to recognize authentic cuisine. I was shocked to find this genuine restaurant in a small Wisconsin town. You are transported into Little Italy as you enter. The aroma of marinara and parmesean notes, combined with the live pianist, was amazing. We ordered Calamari, Shrimp Piccata, and Lasagna dish. Flavors of sauce and fresh ingredients are robust. This is by far the BEST Calamari👌. Prosecco and Tiramisu to end the night! We were sat at a table across from the bar. People at the bar kept bumping into me and were extremely loud. We could not have a conversation. I asked them if they would give us space, but there really wasn't any place for them to go, but they no longer bumped into us.

The food was delicious but warm when it was brought to us. The waitress was polite and very helpful.

We knew it was a higher price restaurant before going. Overall, the price we paid for our food was not worth the experience.

I was searching for a nearby restaurant for a quick dinner and chose Cannovas. I walked 2 blocks and was immediately served. I eat light, so I ordered the brushetta for dine in and a pizza to go.

My waitress was extremely accommodating and attentive. The brushetta was not the best I've had, but it was good.

The Margarhita pizza was boxed for takeout, and I have to say it was definitely one of the best ever!

The food was decent. Can't complain. Really bad service, mainly from the hostess. We initially sat outside on the patio. Within a few minutes of getting an appetizer, the table was swarmed by wasps. They were in our drinks, food, etc. It took about 15 minutes of our 5 year old being terrified before a waitress (who wasn't even ours, I think we saw our waiter twice) asked if we wanted to be seated inside. As she sat us, the hostess came by and asked what happened. When we explained, her exact words were "We can't help that" and walked away, never to be seen again. Could have been a nice experience if the hostess was professional. We sat outside on a beautiful, sunny afternoon. As soon as the food came, tons of wasps and hornets started landing on our food and in our drinks. We tolerated it until our 5 year old got scared and started to cry. It went on for about 10 minutes until a kind waitress asked if we wanted to be seated inside. We gladly accepted as most of our drinks were hijacked and the pests were unbearable. We were seated directly inside the back patio door, in a high traffic area with our 3 kids. They brought our food in and a couple of our drinks, no napkins and no water. The kind waitress noticed and asked if we would like fresh waters and some fresh napkins. The hostess came by and asked if "we needed any new drinks"? We stated we would just like a new bottled soda and a mixed drink since we barely touched them due to the wasps. Her response was "well we can't help that", and just walked away. So frustrating. Totally unprofessional. And yes, there are plenty of things(natural) you can do as a business to keep pests away from food, but I digress. So $127.00 later, we left and decided we would not be returning. We were looking forward to a beautiful atmosphere and good food after a long work week, but what we got was disappointment. *Credit to the young man who took over on the inside and the young woman who was professional and attentive.

As a new vegetarian they offer many meatless options, which is awesome! Yummy yummy! ALSO very reasonably priced! Given immediate seating, which was nice, but the table they seated us at (the round table by the kitchen) had a weak floor behind it. During the meal every time the staff walked by, my chair would lean back, rocking me as I tried to eat. This table should be moved/removed, as by the end of our meal it felt like I had been trying to eat in a rocking chair that I had no control over.

I ordered a bar sized pizza, which was reasonably priced and delicious. My better half ordered a $29 plate of pasta. The Alfredo sauce was essentially just roux and cream, with little to no flavor beyond the copious amount of butter. Either the sauce is ordered in, or the chef that day had no idea how to make alfredo sauce.

Definitely NOT worth the price for pasta.

All in all, the experience was mediocre. Friendly staff and reasonably fast service did not make up for the overpriced dishes (only one of which had flavor) and rocking chair experience.

I had the Venetian and it was awesome! Once again we took Cannoli togo....delicious! We had the tiramisu last time which was the best I've ever had. Emily was our server this time and she was such a breathe of fresh air. Professional, efficient and funny! Easy to talk with which added to the experience! See you again soon.

Update 7/12- had dinner there again tonight with Emily as our server again. P.S.- She's still amazing! This time we tried the coffee and that is delish. Going back Thursday just for dessert as they had sold out of my favorite, but it was the end of the night so it's ok.

Slow service, watered down drink, out of two different apps (after being offered them), out of BUTTER, cheap bread, and s SERVICE fee to use a credit card. Loud patrons. 100 meal that should have cost 60.00. Has gone so down hill. Resting on an old reputation. We will dine elsewhere. Oh, and the staff really didn’t give a crud we were unhappy.😒

I came here with a friend for the first time today for some pizza. There was live piano music, and I really liked the setting. The pizza was delicious and everything tasted very fresh. Our server was nice and accommodating. We both had some cocktails and it was nice to be able to try new things. Some of the drinks are smaller but they definitely put a lot of alcohol in them so you get your moneys worth. I’d definitely come back.

We love Cannovas! A hidden gem downtown Neenah. The atmosphere is perfect and the food is so, so good. Make sure to sit on the patio in the summer. Staff has always been top notch, too!

We always enjoy Cannova’s. Have never had a bad entree whether we ordered pizza or pasta. It’s all delicious! If you like dressing with your salad l suggest asking for it on the side because they are very generous with it. If you are there when the piano music is live, that’s wonderful. The outdoor seating is private and cute. All around it’s just one of our favorites!

Was told it would be about a 1/2 an hour wait and it ended up being inexcess of an hour plus. The music was so loud you'd have to yell at the person next to you so they could hear you. I don't see the point of music so loud that a deaf person could hear it. Makes the experience less fun. The food is very good usually. The service was average. Had to physically get up and ask the server to bring something that I had requested to the table. I don't like having to leave my seat when I'm out eating that's the whole purpose of a waiter and/or waitress. They definitely fell short this time around. Was not overly impressed.

First time visitors and didn’t know what to expect with all the mixed reviews. But we were blown away. Entire group ordered pasta and the fresh homemade sauce and pasta was OUTSTANDING. Would highly recommend the lasagna and tomato basil cream penne with sausage pasta. The accompanying bread was also great. Service was good. We already can’t wait to go back.
