It wasn't busy when we went. It was 6 of us all after work. And it took a while to get our food but the cook did come out and apologized to us and gave us some free dessert to make up for it. If in the area I would probably go back. I would give them another chance and see if it is any different

The birria tacos are absolutely amazing! Street tacos are also a favorite. They changed the cheese dip and now it’s legit just melted cheese with no seasoning/ taste. Go back to the old school cheese!

Stopped in for lunch today, took at least 10 min before anyone came to the table, ordered a soda and a beer, got the beer no soda. Salsa has no flavor, tasted like tomato sauce with onions and cilantro in it. Ordered cheese dip, beef nachos and steak fajitas. Food came, no cheese dip. Fajitas were full of Mexican flavor, beef nachos had no flavor at all. Waiter never once came back to check on us to see how the food was or if we needed anything and there were no patrons in the place. Definitely would not recommend at all

I was honestly surprised to see a place that served Mexican food and not just American style tacos in a really small town in the middle of Wisconsin (and not really close to any major city). We stopped there on a road trip and we were very pleasantly surprised. The waitress was so kind that she gave us a free order of sopapillas as well. This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant! We love that it's so close to where we live. It is hard to find such delicious Mexican food without driving to eau Claire or Wausau! I should have taken a before picture but the food is just so amazing that unfortunately I didn't get a chance so y'all get an after picture of the beef fajitas I destroyed. I love that the staff are just so awesome, kind, and always on top of their tables. Also last time we were there we got complimentary little fried chips with chocolate sauce on them and it was the perfect little end to the meal(this time we got the fried ice cream) I hope next time to try the tres leches for desert but it was out this time. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

In 2023, we ate there, and the food was awesome. Now, in Feb 2024, we stopped in again after a movie at the theater. The food for both of us was lukewarm at best. For a Friday, there weren't many customers. I guess others know. Too bad. It's a nice atmosphere.

Stopped in randomly, staying the week in Thorp and searched for restaurants and found this one, wow did we score!!!
They brought chips and salsa to the table and I asked for another salsa with hot sauce. I was told they don’t have it, so the chef came out and said he was making a spicy salsa for me, 🤯 smoky spicy flavor.
All four of us were blown away by how good the food was, I wanted a chorizo burrito and again, cook came out to clarify what I wanted, and it was spot on!!!!
I will eat here every time I come through here!

I hate to do this, this used to be my favorite place to eat in town. This was only a few months after they opened and the quality of the food was excellent. My favorite part about this restaurant is that they have options for picky eaters. My wife loves Mexican food whereas I typically don’t because I don’t like beans, onions, peppers, etc.

But the past year or so we’ve been ordering less frequently. I don’t know why, but the quality has fallen off. I’m only writing this to create awareness incase the owner of the company goes over reviews. They’re definitely starting to slide. Will continue a few more times to see if at any point they get back to their initial quality. Seems to me initially they may have been more passionate about the new business venture, but now the quality of the service and food says that it’s becoming more mundane. Stanley in my opinion is a fairly competitive restaurant market. Pretty much every restaurant in town has good offerings, need to be at the top of your game here with so many places to choose from.

I just think that they had a bad cook that day and then we had a reorder our food and it was still soggy again and we live four blocks away so hopefully that chef is either replaced or sober's up 102$ bill is way too much in the second order was even wrong

Ten of us showed up around 2pm and they got us a table and had provided chips and salsa immediately. We decided to get two pitchers of strawberry and original margaritas. A small restaurant with a festive vibe. Food here is actually really good. I am a little concerned about the large menu. In my opinion, the menu should be simplified which makes viewing and choosing what you want much easier. The overall service is really good. My recent visit their the restaurant was running short staffed. But the staff that were there were working their tail’s off and got food out on time. I made sure I showed my gratitude with a generous tip.

Fajita meal and burrito meal came out within minutes. Fajitas were not sizzling, the meat was flavorless and tasted off in both dishes. It's like they had it prepared in advance and microwaved it. Asked to send it back, walked out. Ugh.Cook said no one else had complained. I find that doubtful.

The waiter was rude and did not let me even start my order before shutting me down. He was upset that after I received our drinks I asked for the white cheese. Rolled his eyes at me that I dare order from the chalk board the margarita special. How perfect, a sippy cup it comes in, wonder why, cannot put salt on the rim, have to put a lid on it. Nothing Authentic about this establishment, I lived in Chicagoland for 35 years and know what I am missing. My thoughts are overpriced Taco Bell.

We ate there again tonight after first finding it 3 days ago. Both were excellent experiences. Both times the food was delicious, the service attentive (the first time was on a Tuesday night and not very busy while tonight - Friday - it was packed), and the atmosphere casual and welcoming. So excited to have good Mexican dining close to home in rural WI. We already know it's our new favorite place to eat. You have to try their homemade chunky guacamole. Even my husband who has never liked guacamole is raving about it. And you can get containers of it to go! Edited to say: Yet another great dinner out here!!! They do not disappoint!!!

The alcohol drinks are a bit pricey, but we're not going for the drinks. Edited to say: they have drink specials and are starting Margarita specials on Wednesdays according their Facebook page.

Covid considerations: the staff wears masks. Obvious precautions are taken, such as eating utensils being given after being seated and they are in bags. We are fully vaccinated now so feel quite comfortable eating there. 6 foot distancing is not an option when the restaurant is full. I don't have any information about the quality of their ventilation system.
