I was really hoping with the big wood fire oven they would serve pizzas-it was a huge disappointment when we were told they no longer have pizza ovens or room to make pizzas. The set up and decor didn’t seem to fit the menu concept. The restaurant manager seemed to be annoyed like she didn’t want to be there. My husband and I had a hard time figuring out how to pronounce things on the menu. $26 for meatloaf?! I would expect more food for that amount. Just keep it simple for us folks who visit your establishment and maybe more people will stop in.

I was fortunate enough to experience breakfast, lunch as well as dinner on my latest business trip. I received a very welcoming atmosphere from my server Dylan and the bartender Ryan. I went in for clam hush puppies and prime rib french dip, the hush puppies did not disappoint and don't recall ever having a better french dip. They don't have the largest or cheapest menu, but take my word that it's worth trying.

Great restaurant, I was originally going to go to culvers to save some money, but I walked in to look at the menu and the bar tender was super nice and convinced me to sit down, then I saw the Blatons/EH Taylor combo and sat for a drink, I got the filet and the rest is history! Never been to Wisconsin before so for any Travellers you can't go wrong with this one!

I figured I would stop and try this place out as I drive by it everyday. It’s not as I expected it to be. I’ve heard it has changed hands and menu a few times. I had a burger with fries which was pretty good and my husband and I split a pork nacho which came out with the chips on the side and the pork in a small dish. We thought that was weird as we are use to tortilla chips with cheese and everything piled on top. It was lukewarm and pork seemed a little salty. I know Green Mill is no longer but, they had the best pizza,pasta and wings! This place no longer makes pizza’s which is going to hurt a business such as this one. I had to ask my waitress what some of the ingredients were on the menu as I couldn’t pronounce or understand them. I’m not so sure I will be back.

We came as a family of 7 and it wasn't very busy. Saw the inside of the restaurant and was excited to taste the food because the atmosphere was really nice. Sat down, and someone came to take our drink order but skipped taking my order until the 3rd time they came by even after I tried to get her attention. The server wasn't attentive at all. Drink came out extremely strong and bitter. Drank water instead. Ordered the steak, and the rest of the family ordered either fish or sandwiches. They loved what they ordered, however, the steak tasted like it had been dropped in a bag of salt before it was cooked, and then they dropped it back into the bag of salt before plating it. Almost inedible. Also ordered medium rare, and it was very rare instead. Will not return. Wish we would have gone literally anywhere else. The service would have been better, and I'm pretty sure if McDonald's served a steak, it would be better than what I had here at 1/4 the cost. Now I see why it was almost empty at dinner rush. Choked down half the steak, and it upset my stomach so badly I threw up when we got back to the hotel.

Came in after my son’s baseball game. Staff was very friendly. The menu was small and not what we were expecting. We did try a burger and fries (there wasn’t very many options of burgers) and the French dip. The French dip was great tasting and a decent portion. Overall the food was good but if you are looking for pizza and appetizers after a game, this is not the place to go for that. We did discover a place called The Bar which is a block away that has a great menu especially when you are on a budget and have kids with.

Came and had a great time after a one night stay at the Holiday Inn. I spent the better part of a decade in the service industry, and it has been years since I’ve seen such a well put together bar and grill like the Cedar Creek Grill. The bartender Ryan was amazing, I never went without. I look forward to stopping in and seeing him again on business trips in the future. Will definitely be back. Great job on the design, look, and atmosphere of the bar. I wish I could say the same about my hotel room, but Ryan and the rest of the bar staff made up for everything my hotel room lacks.

This was our first time dining at Cedar Creek Grill House. I had a CCGH burger and my husband had a shore lunch sandwich. Portions were large and they came with cole slaw or french fries. The sandwiches were delicious and the fries so good as well, nice and crispy.
Our waiter, David, was attentive and remembered everything we needed.
We enjoyed our lunch and will return soon.

05/06/25 We came back for french dip sandwiches. Omg. Absolutely the best I have ever had and cole slaw was terrific as well. Kudos to Ryan our server, too.

The restaurant had high end food at high-end prices, but felt like a Chuck E. Cheese with how loud it was and with how many kids were running around. I kind of miss when it was the Green Mill, as it felt more private/intimate. The new layout is very industrial, cold, and open concept. I was surprised at the quality of the food, but at $46 for a steak, I could have gone to a much nicer steak place.

Although restaurants attached to Microtels an average of Best, this one was exceptional. David was my waiter and was extremely accommodating, offering me a seat in the bar to watch the Olympics as well as letting me know that the french fries in the restaurant are battered (which was important to me due to Celiac disease).

Scallops medium rare and they were as good as any four star restaurant I’ve been to. I also had the French dip without bread and it didn’t disappoint. Don’t hesitate come have some nice common food andleave happy!!!

Don’t waste your time. Our server was wonderful and made delicious drinks, but the menu was so limiting and no where near worth the price. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t worth 20$ for a sandwich. Stopped in after visiting the children’s museum. It was empty not a single other customer. Definitely on the higher end side. They had a lunch menu that really was not what we were looking for, but figured we’d give it a try.
We tried the chicken wings, they were breaded and had the Buffalo sauce on the side they also gave us a sweet chili sauce to try that was phenomenal. The ranch dressing tasted homemade and was definitely delicious. We tried one of the wood fire flatbreads as well. The Safrioles had Capicola, Salami, Olives, Pepperoncinis. Burrata and basil pesto. It was very good, but had a lot going on. We had a 17 month old with us so we ordered her a grilled cheese off the kids menu. It was by far, the absolute WORST grilled cheese I’ve ever had. It almost tasted like melted cheddar cheese on DRY TOAST! It was horrible. The fries were good and the kids menu came with triangle shaped crayons that were adorable.
The inside of the restaurant was beautiful and they had a very nice bar. Would be great for a date night with the hubby, but not great for a lunch date with a kid!
Our server was phenomenal though. He was very helpful and understanding that our little one got crumbs all over the immaculately clean floor.

The food was outstanding, some of the best cheese curds l have had in a long time. I had the Prime Rib French dip and the serving was massive, and delicious. The only issue we had was when the guy who seated us came back to assist our waiter in taking our order got a little snotty with my wife. She was confused in the way he worded something, and he snapped back at her with "do you want your food or not?" Which I didn't appreciate. Besides his snotty attitude, everything was great. The rest of the staff was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely keep coming back, even with snotty host guy working there.

We stayed at holiday inn for a competition and decided to give the restaurant a try since we didn’t want to drive out. Our first time there so we were not sure what it’s like. There were five of us, 2 adults, 2 children (6&8) and a 1 year old. We were greeted right away. We wanted to sit on the half booth half chairs and manager Mary was able to put two heavy tables together for us ❤️. We got the prime rib and ribeye steak. The mash potatoes were delicious! The ribeye steak was my favorite although the prime rib was also good! Kids got the chicken bites and they said those were good too. Services was wonderful! Everyone there were so welcoming and didn’t make us feel bad for bringing in a 1 year (if you know what I mean). There was another waitress which I didn’t her name. She was wonderful as well. Mary and David was amazing with their service, it was my first time in Cedar Creek and they were patient and gave great recommendations! I absolutely love the cheese curds appetizer, and the prime rib french dip came out phenomenal! I’m in love with the food here, if I could give 10 stars I would. If you’re looking for drinks, they have really tasty drafts, i tried the Monsinee pineapple comet and it took me to the tropics! I got the Prohibition whiskey sour, it went down smooth and compliments the prime rib French dip, and I also tried their Bourbon Manhattan, All I can say is I loved it all, anything you get from here will have you coming back! You need to check out this new establishment! The food here is some of the best you will have in the Wausau area. It is well worth the drive to Rothschild for the service and selections. Our server Heather was wonderful, and the manager Mary is so personable. You can tell the menu was made by an extremely talented chef with a passion for food, and the selections are hard to decide between! The steak melted in your mouth and the sides were to die for! We decided dessert should be liquid and they did not disappoint with an on-the-spot created raspberry chocolate martini. Would highly recommend. Will be back for sure!

But Mary the manager came to the rescue. She came out and checked on us multiple times, remade the drink, and even made sure the meals were up to our satisfaction. Everything that went wrong, she made it better times 100. Mary was definitely the best restaurant manager I have encountered and you can tell she takes pride in her work. I was wary. Restaurants attached to hotels are so often overrated. The prices were high and I assumed the food wouldn’t be worth it but being walking distance from my hotel I went anyway. I ordered the citrus salad to start and grilled shrimp with asparagus. The salad is so good I’m saving it for dessert. The mains come with choice of sauce. I chose soy ginger. It’s delicious but unnecessary. The shrimp and asparagus are flavorful without it. Covering the perfectly cooked and buttered shrimp would be almost sacrilege. The wine list is perfect. Solid choices without being over complicated. The service was slow (and apologetic) but it’s not her fault. Like everyone else they are understaffed. If you’re not in a rush and you want great food, eat here!

I took my Mother there for the Mothers Day, $25/plate Brunch. The staff that was there was pleasant and friendly however the brunch was served cold, not luke warm but cold - all of it. Chicken, Pasta Dish, Bacon, Sausage, Pancakes and Eggs were cold. The only good thing about the buffet was I didn’t over eat.

They we understaffed and disorganized, to bad it looked like a nice place. I paid the bill, which made me mad (I didn’t want to cause a seen with my 82 year old Mother) and left. I won’t be going back.

First time here, and it was awesome! We were at a meeting nearby, and happened upon it on Google. I had the corn-crusted wall eye sandwich and it was delicious and so big! The fries were some of the best I've ever had. The only issue was the iced tea was very weak at first, but the server made a fresh pot, and replaced our glasses. The brownie desert was great, too. All around a serendipitous find.

Not as good as I was lead to believe.
I ordered a cheeseburger and cheese curds. The burger was just ok, not bad but definitely not “the best burger ever” as a few on here have said. As for the curds they were also just “ok”. As for how much it all came to, that was definitely NOT ok. It was over $21 just for those two things, $25 with the tip and it was a togo order. No drink, nothing else. But when your hungry your hungry.

Don't miss out on this dining experience. Wonderful meal! We both ordered tenderloin and shrimp. I can't repeat how amazing they both tasted. Succulent, yummy mmmmm! I had a slight problem with my potatoes, our server offered to replace them, but as we were almost done, I originally declined. (Ryan is awesome btw) Mary the manager stopped by, talked me into a potato replacement AND apple crisp. I swear she had barely walked away and my potatoes were on the table already! Stayed at the holiday inn Rothchild wi the weekend of 12-15-22. Went to the grill house Friday nite Of course I had the fish fry!! The breading on the fish was perfectly seasoned and not thick. I went to this restaurant a lot back years ago before change in ownership. It has gone downhill significantly. Ana served me at the bar back in Sept 2022 and was excellent. I arrived tonight after a very long day, requested a seat at the bar and was directed to a booth by Mary. I am a professional woman, engineer, traveling alone so perhaps Mary thought I had other professional aspirations. Very disturbing. Anyway l asked for a seat at the bar, (I did not see any male customers interrogated as such), I ordered a Ketel One martini and explained to the bartender how to make it. He did not listen AND became argumentative. He was going to put New Amsterdam vodka in my drink and ostensibly would charge me for Ketel One? Its is $20 price difference by the bottle.Ketel costs $30 plus and New Amsterdam costs $10. The food is good but I will go somewhere else. Bad treatment and trying to commit fraud. The martini cost me $16.88 SO more than Wildfire in Oakbrook IL, a Chicago suburb. So sad. This place seems to cast dispersions on women who come in alone. This never happened to me in the past. Discrimination. I have been traveling for work since 1995 and never was treated with such disrespect as I was tonight.

Was very excited for a steak and from the reviews I was eager to try. However when I got there, I stood for 20 minutes, then they bring me a menu. After deciding they then say oh sorry we didn't mean to show you that one, we only are serving this one and gave me a different menu with like 4 entrees none of them steak, so 30 min wasted as I walked out with 2 other tables who were also upset. I understand that things might come up with staffing issues and supply issues but they should be having a sign at the door with the limited menu and they should be greeting customers within a few minutes of them coming inside. Don’t waste your money on the steak or chicken and just get fries and a burger. I had the pub burger with fries and they were good despite the super greasy bun. I did get sick later that evening but I do have a sensitive stomach so I can’t say it was the food.

My husband ordered the sirloin and chicken and it was definitely the worst steak and chicken we have ever had at a restaurant. The meat was so dry and tasteless it was a chore to eat it. We ended up having to bring it home for our dogs who disagreed very much with our opinion.

Our waiter was very nice though and the cheese fondue appetizer was good except the fondue to pita bread ratio left us with quite a bit of extra cheese. We probably won’t be back but it was nice to try it.

Well I am not trying to complain but we had dinner on a Friday we ordered 10oz ribeyes and they were 14oz cold and our friend ordered a 14oz ribeye and got a strip steak. We went to breakfast buffet the next day not much on the buffet at first then they served scrambled eggs they were swimming in raw eggs about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Beautiful place and I understand short of help but you don't want people to get sick.

Very disappointed!!! Way too expensive and the food was not worth the price! Au gratin potatoes had no flavor at all, it all looked good coming out but tasted horrible.
They mixed up our steaks and I still couldn't eat it. Outside of the steak was burnt that's why they were covered up with lots of onions and mushrooms. He ordered medium rare, I ordered medium well and it came out medium and well!!! When we finally noticed our steaks were mixed up we both decided to take them home to do our own fixing of it to be able to eat it. They both were very tough for a tenderloin. Son-in-law ordered the large ribeye which is supposed to be 14 oz @ $42.00 and his steak was smaller than my tenderloin at 5 oz. We were not impressed at all..... We left there very hungry that night... Definitely never going back.

First time trying Cedar Creek Grill. I ordered the gnocchi, which was very good. My husband ordered the grilled shrimp with the potatoes au gratin and said that he loved it. Our server, Dylan, was very attentive. We were impressed that the manager, Mary, came to the table to make sure that we were happy. We will definitely be back.
