First time trying this restaurant. It has more of a "bar vibe," than a restaurant. It is a big place. I am sure when it is full of people, it must be hoppin'! The food was served quickly, hot and was plentiful. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Thanks. We will be going back for more!

We stopped in for dinner tonight after a neighbor told us about this place (we hadn't heard of it), and we're so glad we did! My wife is a big fan of chilaquiles and we were surprised to find that you can order them any time of day there! They were perfect - perfect amount of crunch left in the chips!
I had enchiladas verde and asked them to mix chicken and steak which was fantastic! So the did was top notch and the variety on the menu was amazing. We now can't wait to come back to try some other offerings!
The atmosphere isn't what you'd consider fancy but the dining area is large enough that you'd be comfortable whatever your tastes are.
What stood out most of all was the fantastic attitude of the people serving our table! It was infectious positivity and energy! That is so hard to find some days, but both of the people who stopped by our table were wonderful!

Ordered on DoorDash and unlike many other restaurants I received chips and salsa which is a plus. I’m also surprised they have negative reviews. The Quesabirria is TO DIE FOR! and it’s one of the best I’ve tried in the area. A coworker of mine raved about centenarios, happy I tried it out. They don’t disappoint!

We stopped in for a Thursday evening dinner based on the great reviews. Our first issue was finding parking. Street parking near the restaurant was all full and the lot near the entrance nearly fill of very haphazardly parked cars. The entrance to the restaurant itself is a bit unusual with a gated off desk immediately inside. You have to go into the basement of the building and then enter into an area with pool tables and games (which has several customers) with the bar prominently to the side with no signs of a hostess stand. You only see the dining area after walking well into the room and, of course, no staff was in the area. The restaurant area appears quite large but we quickly realized that there were only 2 tables of dining patrons seated. We also immediately noted the very harsh lighting, which we commented was very antiseptic and industrial feeling. When someone did notice us, we were quickly seated and chips and salsa were brought out. The menu is very heavily biased towards seafood dishes with a limited set of options for chicken or beef and almost no pork. The chips are good, but clearly from a bag and the salsa was tasty. We ordered a margarita, which was good, but definitely on the sweet side. My wife ordered the carnitas plate and I ordered centenario fajitas. They were both served very quickly. Portions and presentation were okay and the food was hot. The carnitas were really just pork butt that had been grilled a bit. It was good, but didn't have the typical carnitas flavor of citrus or much for seasoning. The story was similar for the fajitas. The side plates of rice and beans were not overly generous but the flour tortillas were hot and tasty. Prices were to the higher side of other restaurants. All-in-all, compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area, our experience was just mediocre, with nothing about it to command the price, especially given the antiseptic feeling atmosphere and fairly limited menu. I can't say to not go there but can definitely say that we've had much better experiences at other area Mexican restaurants.

The restaurant is in a basement, food was terrible and staff were slow. I had a chimichanga and it was chicken chunks and mostly rice. I have never had a bad chimichanga in my life until this place. My husband had a fajita and it was so filled with oil that is was pooling everywhere. I am in shock that I am the first negative review. We are on vacation and trusted the reviews which was unfortunate for us.

We have been meaning to try this place since they opened, and immediately wished we'd tried it sooner. The food is great and has a great range of flavors, the menu has a ton of variety (we also want to try their breakfast soon), and the service was very kind and patient. The drinks are also great. Downtown Waunakee needs more restaurants, and this place is a great addition! We will be back often.

Okay, we are just finishing up dinner here on a Friday night and this place isn't nearly as busy as it should be so I decided I need to write a review. This place is huge. Fun music. We ordered Molcajete Centenario and wow. How do I describe this. It's basically every meat with cheese etc served in what I would call a cauldron? It's amazing. I wish I would have taken a picture for you guys. Actually - that would ruin the surprise. Check it out!

We ordered the octopus tostada, guacomole and the molcajete Centenario. The tostada was fresh, flavorful, and addictive. The guacamole was delicious and the steaming hot molcajete was extraordinary.

We have eaten at Mexican restaurants in the Southwest and in Mexico. This place stands up to the best of them.

I had to check out the newest spot in Waunakee. I walked in and the restaurant was clean. I was immediately greeted. I place my to go order and everything was quick. I had a carne asada burrito. It was large and had lots of meat. It was well prepared and the sauces that came with it were good. They also included a bad of chips and salsa with the order. It was a nice touch. My order was complete faster, tasted better and was cheaper than the food truck down the steer. This will be my new go to.

Had great lunch there yesterday with my wife and boy. The food was delicious! We ordered premium margarita drinks it was so good and smooth. I eat all my food even the shells. Whoops! maybe just bite shrimp shells only ;) yes, after meal with great Mexican music we decided to play pool there instead of dance;) They also have some gaming machines there just like Brain on baker street decades ago, of course with totally new versions. This place are neat, and visually much more open , nice new bathrooms, great handicap accessible entrance! definitely nice thoughtful architecture floor plan for its restaurant. It was pretty busy there yesterday, but this place is huge, it certainly can comfortably accommodate so many people here. They do have many staffs, our food was came out in good timing, thanks:) I love this place, I would definitely come back them again.

I don't get to Waunakee very often, so I'm glad we tried Centenario tonight for dinner. The service was perfect--friendly and efficient. I had a chicken burrito (hold the dairy) and found it packed with grilled chicken. The tortilla was thin and perfectly toasted. My friend had the ceviche shrimp--and it was a piece of art! Another tried a torta--easily enough for 2 people. All the food was wonderful! When the chips and salsa arrived, we also ordered guacamole. A perfect balance of ingredients. We only added a touch of salt. I'm already looking forward to going back...maybe tomorrow?
