I used to love the chancery. The food has gone downhill. Not a lot of good menu choices. A lot of stuff taken off the menu. Service was not great. They were busy and not enough staff? Cleanliness was so so. There was a table with 2 sick, screaming, coughing, sneezing , clearly Ill children and it was a big turn off. If your kids are that sick, stay home. And if you don't have the sense to stay home, maybe the staff should be saying something. Several people complained about this besides us. And the staff did nothing about it. Terrible experience. Terrible food. I do not recommend.

The jambalaya transported me to that distant world where worms roam and eyes go blue from...the spice. The server was superb, balancing training her new ward while also ensuring every single aspect of the meal went as planned and thus my friend, myself, and even my wife who I brought a take out dinner meal to were all satisfied. The atmosphere...somewhere far above an apple bee hive yet just beneath Olympus. Take a chance with the chancery, you'll probably be like hey it was worth doubting this absurd review and finding out for myself.

I've been getting the California Wrap at this restaurant chain since 1995 (well, that or Hey Curly Where's Moe) in Tosa for the majority of those years, but finally tried this location.
This restaurant is much quieter and very pleasant to have lunch in. Both visits, I was seated in a booth which I vastly prefer. The staff was pleasant. Attentive but not overly so. Will definitely return.

Went to what I believe is the last Chancery in the Milwaukee area(Mequon). I’ve long been a fan and I wanted to see if they still had a version of Chicken Kick on the menu…they do…it’s now called Kickin’ Chicken but I saw the Friday special which was an all-u-can-eat Fish Fry…the fish was delicious and the waffle fries were the perfect complement and it also came with a small ramekin of coleslaw…I had two portions and was served by the most delightful young lady…all-in-all a really satisfying meal…keep up the good work!

Was looking for a fish fry and was in the area so I decided to stop! This was a great choice, the cod fish was cooked perfectly and seasoned well! I enjoyed the coleslaw with cranberries and potato pancakes. The server Sam (a female) was attentive, friendly and patient. The food was so good so we went back and was served by Sam again. She was consistent both times so we will ask for her again. It had been a while since I dined at the Chancery, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the update in decor. This is one of my favorite places for a fish fry! Don't forget to try the carrot cake, it was great!

My daughter and her friends went recently and had a terrible experience. The server was rude and slow, and weren’t notified that they no longer offer free refills on beverages. Let's start with it's not an all you can eat Friday fish. It's more of a how much patience do you have to wait for bite sized portions of fish. Atmosphere was decent. The server was slow and inattentive but I'm guessing that's part of the strategy not to replenish food on the table. Lastly I'm pretty sure that's not cod. This is a tough review for me to give because I am a longtime fan of the chancery and it had been a long time since we’ve been here.
I wanted to love it so much because I remember loving it as I was growing up, however, they were very few people in the restaurant and I thought service should have been more attentive. Don’t get me wrong. The young man we had was very kind and did not give us a specific problem, but it did take a long time for him to check back after our food was served and never returned for quite some time after to provide refills or to go packaging.
The food was fair, but for the price we thought it should have been a bit more generous of servings, however, when you reflect on the area it’s in and the choices, they can afford to be higher just by a lack of selection in the area.
Restaurant was clean, but we seated directly in front of an emergency exit, and it was freezing. We are visibly shaking and never were able to take our jackets off and although there were so many choices for areas to have seated us,, the spot was chosen, which we thought was pretty inconsiderate .
We definitely cannot take that out on the server, but that would come with better management in our opinions.
There’s plenty of parking in the pavilion area and we did not have a wait at around 7 PM on a Thursday.
The menu has plenty of choices. You can have anything from a sandwich, wrap, a burger, pasta, chicken, jambalaya, fish, or even pizzas.

I'm glad there's still a Chancery in the metro area. There used to be several. The food is always very good from the fried chicken to the fish fry. The French Dip is juicy, and the Wisconsin Cheese Steak is big and tasty. The Onion Strings appetizer is ginormous and super flavorful. I even enjoyed their gyros. The burgers are all great. The fruit is always fresh. I love the cabin, the fronteir theme of this restaurant.

This morning my husband and I came into The Mequon Chancery for brunch and we had an amazing experience! Our bartender Jada was great. She greeted us right away and made sure our food came out quickly. She also makes a killer Bloody Mary! We ordered a big breakfast and a beer cheese soup and pretzel. The food was good, but hash browns were a little underdone for my liking. Besides that, everything was great! This was our first time coming to The Mequon Chancery in over a year, definitely a good enough experience to come in more often.

Food was good. I had fish fry which is available every day. There tartar sauce was not very sweet and i prefer a sweeter sauce over a dill tasting sauce. I love their coleslaw which has dried cranberries in it. The bloody mary with deviled eggs was great. Server was trying but screwed up more than once including forgetting to bring soup that was ordered to the table. He apologized for his mistakes but still have to ding him for messing up more than once. I think many people don’t realize the Chancery still exists. The other locations around Milwaukee and Waukesha and Wauwatosa closed up and people think the chain was gone. It wasn’t till about 6 months ago that i became aware that the mequon location was up and running. So if you were a Chancery fan you should head over to Mequon.

Had a family outing of 10 for lunch. Our party had to wait about 20 minutes but that's understandable for the time we got there. Once seated, our waitress was there taking drink orders. Food came out pretty quick, and everything was hot and fresh. I had the beyond burger patty melt. Amazing!!!

Very sad!!!! I am a very regular customer. This is the first time that someone so unprofessional took care of our order. We were told that a chicken dinner was going to be ready in about 25 minutes. Today is Monday. Place is empty. This dude, tells everyone that he will take the order first then, the drinks. We were waiting 1:20 minutes. The guy comes and tell me that the order is going to take the same 25 minutes. I question him, and his answer is that he don’t work at the kitchen, thats not his fault. I call the manager, and her answer was that she apologize/ that she can give us a desert. Very sad that company and restaurants give opportunities to this young generation and they don’t appreciate. The Maneger told me that he messed up the orders. If they want us back, they going to have to give us two free meals to compensate this very bad experience.

We had an awful experience several weeks ago. The food was awful. Potatoes were cold and stale. Wings tasted like smoked fish. Service was awful even though they weren't busy. When we let our server know the food wasn't edible she said she'd let her manager know. Manager never came to talk to us but they did comp 2 of our 3 dishes. Afterwards I sent feedback to the restaurant to let them know (hoping they can take the feedback to improve) but almost 2 weeks later I still havent received a response. So they clearly don't care about their customers. Two times a manager had an opportunity to address concerns but chose not to. Very disappointing especially from a restaurant I used to enjoy.

I've been waitressing five years and I'm all for automatic gratuity on larger tables in order to make sure the server is taken care of. HOWEVER.. the service has to be worth that amount- server seemed inattentive when there was 1 other table in the restaurant at the time. Waited forever for the checks which were not split correctly, and I had to leave 90 percent of my meal behind because no one asked if we needed to go boxes on the way out- no waters were refilled the entire night... idk what's going on if it's automatic 20 percent gratuity then give service, man, coming from someone who is a waitress 😅

Gina and her staff welcomed a weary traveler with less than 5 minutes to close. Having called ahead to have the food ready so not to keep everyone past closing, Gina suggested to just come in off the road, relax, and have a hot meal vs on that had been sitting and waiting. I love chancery restaurant and Pub, I use to work there in my teens as a hostess many years ago. I always order a Greek chicken pita which is one of my favorites, the chicken is always juicy and seasoned perfectly with all the veggies that come on it and the sauce is awesome. Great food when I go there always reminds me of when I was younger and we don't have many restaurants like that left, so I appreciate the great food and atmosphere of the Chancery restaurant still having great food and service.

Going here is a good option that will let you please your entire party, whether it’s of one or 10. The atmosphere is very particular vibe of country living, not my thing, but if it’s yours, this is a great place to go!

Cool bar area feels like you're in a log cabin. TVs with games on in the bar area. The burger I had was great, waffle fries were good too.

I love the old standbys at the Chancery Restaurant especially the teriyaki pita. Why did the Waukesha location close? Now I have to drive to Mequon. We ate in the bar area and had great service. My food was excellent.
