Have been to Changs Garden a half of dozen times. Always great food and service. The last visit the food seemed to be sitting under the heat lamps. The sweet and sour chicken was mushy and the batter actually fell off when the fork went into. Not good. But I will be back!

I came for lunch on a weekday. Upon entering, it's a pleasant looking, somewhat dark restaurant with enclosed boothes as well as other forms of seating.

We ordered off the lunch specials and I ordered pork egg foo young. This was not pork egg foo young as I am familiar with. It seemed to be a ball of rice with egg mixed in. The pork was not mixed within the "patty", rather, it was Ramen type placed on top. The familiar looking egg foo young was not what appeared, rather an almost scooped appearance.

Service became slower as more people arrived, most likely due to staffing. One bright note was: hot tea orders are served with a large pot tea per person.

This is a lovely restaurant, and the food was basically quite good. However, there were a few problems, and I probably will never return there.
The first problem we encountered was the menu. It was extremely difficult to read. It had a dark background with light print, and there was a shiny surface on it that was reflecting all the lights. The print was quite small, too. So, we had some questions. I am a Pescatarian and was trying to find out which soups had meat in them. We asked the waiter, who is an older man with a raspy voice if there were any soups without meat. He said the wonton soup didn’t have any meat in it. I asked if it had a meat broth. He said something snarky that I can’t remember. He finally admitted that it was made with chicken broth. Again, I asked if there was any vegetarian soup. He wasn’t sure. I asked if he could go find out. He gave me a disgusted “ yeah, I can do that”answer.

Then, because I’ve found out in other restaurants, that a dish such as “Seafood Supreme “ or “ Crab Delight” has pork in it, I asked if the Kung Pao Shrimp had any meat. Again, I got a snarky reply about it having shrimp. I explained I was just making sure. Then, he said he’d mark me down for gluten free. I said I didn’t need gluten free. He said he would put it down anyway to try to cover any other problems. I repeated that I didn’t want gluten free. He said he was just trying to help me.

I haven’t been to Chang in so long and my friend recently had a birthday dinner here so I was happy to give it a new review! I loved how the Weston location has so many seating options for both small and large groups! We started off with the crab Rangoon (not pictured) which was very good! For the main course, I ordered two types of sashimi (tai and hamachi) and two rolls (California and hamachi roll). I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the sushi. I had just come back from Hawaii and was pleasantly surprised that it matched the quality of the sushi I had in the islands! Super happy I tried this place again and I will definitely be back!

We always enjoy our stops at the Chang Garden. Clean and inviting restaurant. You can sit at the bar, grab a booth or table.

The most recent visit we had soup, sushi and entrees. The waiter timed everything perfect instead of bringing it all at once. Very intentional and checked in periodically. Our tea and drinks were always full. The owner even came to our table to check in on us and visit.

We were pleasantly surprised at everthing this restaurant had to offer! The decor was beautiful, especially the booths. Our waitress was busy but yet very accommodating and great at explaining the menu to us since it was our first visit there. It was nice to know they are accommodating to change out items within the menu item. We felt this was the best Chinese food we’ve had in the area and reasonably priced. Chang Garden is where we go for the combination of good Chinese food, good atmosphere, and good service. They have a beautiful bar when you enter and we love the divided booths that give the feeling of more privacy for our table. This visit hubs enjoyed sushi and General Tso Chicken. My boyfriend and I have visited Chang Garden three times now, the first time we went was actually because he recommended it. I’ve ordered sushi and crab rangoons each time we’ve gone, and each time they’ve been incredible! He however, three times in a row, had ordered dishes he didn’t really love. The food just never ‘wowed’ him. This time he finally decided to say something to our server, who kindly sent a manager back to our table. I didn’t catch her name but she was the most helpful restaurant manager I’ve ever encountered. She talked through the menu and helped identify why he didn’t enjoy the food, and ended up serving him something that he really liked! Not only did we go home happy, but we will be returning. The best part? I get to keep having incredible sushi 🍣

Just a great experience! This family owned and run restaurant is worth a stop. From the outside, it looks a little like a big box joint stuck among hotels. It is anything but that. The servers, bartenders, chefs, and all the staff were welcoming and the food matched. Szechwan chicken was colorful, delicious, and spiced just how I asked. The sushi roll I had was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Chang Garden. Thanks for a great dinner.

We like the food here but had such a bad experience today probably won’t be returning for some time. We had to wait almost two hours to get our food. My husband and I ordered a sushi that never came because it was misplaced at another table. It’s fine- we told them to just take it off since it never came. We sat and saw 2 separate smaller party come in after us get their food and leave before we even got ours. It felt like because our group was a little larger than others, we were not a priority at all. That’s not even the worst part of todays experience. When we got our checks , our totals did not add up. We tried asking for clarification and was told the math was correct. We ended up paying what was hand written on the check as we had other places to go. They only hand write your food down on a receipt and total the numbers on it themselves. I believe our whole group was over charged. Make sure you check your receipts and do the math. One couple in our group stayed behind to figure the math because they had some time on their hand. They did the math with the server and turns out they did got charged twice for the automatic tip. I also believe that was why the math did not add up on my check. We ordered two lunch specials $13 each. Our grand total out the door including tip/ tax is $37. How do you get from $26 for the meal, approx $5 for tip, to a total of $37. I know 5.5% tax does not make the rest. This is an honest post just want to warn everyone to check their bills/ numbers !!!! Make sure they do not over charge you like they did to our party !!!

I love Chinese and sushi and had just flown in from Michigan and was super hungry. After checking the area and reviews on here, I decided to check out Chang's and I'm so glad I did. First, the ambiance was gorgeous. The interior was gorgeously decorated, a beautiful giant Buddha in foyer, and 2 awesome fish tanks- one freshwater and the other saltwater. The tables are in these beautiful wooden booths with glass art that makes you feel secluded even though tables were next to each other. They have an amazing sushi selection and authentic Chinese dishes (omg so much better then over processed buffets). I was with my mom so we got a little of everything: Pu Pu platter (which had crab rangoons, egg rolls, beef teriyaki, shrimp and bacon) shrimp tempura)house special chow mein (which is ck, pork, and shrimp), shrimp Szechuan, egg drop soup, nagini- I got tuna salmon and yellowtail , California roll with tempura and seaweed salad. manager visit our table and had a wonderful conversation with him. The next morning when I was getting my nails done and I happened to meet his mom the owner at the nail salon and she gave me the awesome history of them creating that restaurant and taught me about their traditional dishes. She has been rolling sushi for decades! You could hear the love and passion in her voice and I would definitely recommend. The prices are low in my opinion for the quality and amount you get, and was a special experience for my mom and myself.

I was driving through Wisconsin back in June on my way back to Minnesota, and I glanced to my right and saw a really nice looking building. Checked Google maps quick, and saw it was a Chinese restaurant. I knew we’d be back through on our way to and from Green Bay in September, so we made sure to stop this past Saturday for lunch. Honestly the prettiest Chinese restaurant I’ve been to, and the food was great. I ordered a bowl of soup, crab cheese rangoon and jasmine tea, and my husband had the bourbon chicken lunch that came with a cup of soup, fried rice and a fried spring roll. The fried rice could have been better, but I’ve found that the “side” fried rice is usually not as good as an entree of fried rice at any restaurant I’ve even been to, so it is what it is. Hit it with some soy sauce or eat it with a bite of your entree and I’m sure you won’t tell. The sweet and sour sauce is also surprisingly good. It’s thick, and not syrupy. Not anticipating heading back that way any time soon since it’s three hours from us, but if you’re in the area, very much recommended!

Very good sushi 🍣. Great food. And wonderful service. The price is just above average food pricing but well worth every cent. This is a very nice restaurant inside and out. I would recommend eating here. I will return every time I am in the area.

Favorite sushi spot in wausau! Drink was a bit watered down and had lots of big ice chunks. I’ll stick with the food for sure

The food is really good! Service was incredibly slow on a slow day, but they did have signs that they were understaffed. Still, waited about 20 minutes for our drink order, and even longer for our food. But the is food always consistently amazing here. Hopefully the staffing issues get resolved.
