Ordered online for pick up at a specific time. They decided to change the size of the rice without informing us that they were doing that. Also forgot the 4 egg rolls that we ordered. When we called back to inform them the person who answered could not help us and had to wait for a manager to call us back. Not many chinese food options in town, so you are stuck with dealing with problems here.

Such memorable food!!! This is not your hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. Their Singapore Mei fun was the best that we have ever eaten!! Just enough tumeric spice to make it memorable. On top of it their fried dumplings are homemade, and they don’t skimp on the filling. I had their dragon & Phoenix and was impressed that it has flavor that lingers in your mouth. It was not just comfort food that once swallowed you don’t remember the flavor, but one that makes you know that you have just eaten an impressive meal. Sorry that photo shows only a partial amount of our food, I didn’t think that I would be leaving a review.

Good Chinese food. Friendly service. Fast. Given the location and the price point, it's adequate. The fried rice is a bit dry and so was the fried appetizers. There's not much of a flavor differentiation between the dishes. Overall, it's good.

Not sure what happened, but the food has declined greatly. They now use spaghetti noodles for the lo mein dishes, and it's just a ball of waxy grease.

Food used to be the best Chinese food around, but everything has had a steep decline in quality over the last few months (their pork in the pork fried rice tastes like the pork is some sort of canned product).

I used to eat here twice a month or so for some quick lunches. Now, I don't trust it. In the hopes that the quality returns, I probably won't be back for a few months, and then I will try it again. If it doesn't, I think I'll write this place off for good.

This place is nothing special, and for the price, I'd suggest going somewhere else until they figure out their quality issues.

I used to like the food here. I'm not sure what happened. The food quality has gone down. On top of that, the wait is a lot longer than it used to be and the predicted pick-up times are way off. If they are busy and I need to wait longer for food, that's fine but I don't want to wait there. I'd rather wait at home and it be ready when I get there. I'm also willing to wait longer if the food tastes fine. This has happened at least twice, so I think I'll stop going.

The worst Chinese food I have had. They forgot to include the sauce for my sweet and sour chicken, the hot & spicy pork had no spice and the sauce had a weird gritty texture, the grilled potstickers were bland, and the beef lo mien was super dry, bland, and smelled vaguely of fish - I took one bite and threw it away.

The food is very good. My service has been pleasant and expedient. I am giving 3 stars because they often skimp on meat portions, particularly shrimp and crab Rangoon filling. Also because they have some stiff competition. Sizzling Hut up the street has even more delicious and authentic food. Sizzling Hut is also very expedient as well.

I've been going here for 20+ years, through several owners. I have only had a couple bad dishes over the years, and they are happy to replace things that were wrong. They often give extra items when you put in a large order. I like them much better than the other place in town, especially the fried rice and eggrolls.

They got my order wrong, we called to say we would come back to get the right food and they said I had the right order. I ordered chicken chow Mein and there were no noodles, so it was definitely wrong. We went back and they offered to give me a tiny portion of noodles and told me I could have the other order for free. Except I had already paid for it soooo... They were rude and condescending. However, my husband’s order was correct so I suppose they can have 1 star.

I don't know if they misspoke to my husband or if he misspoke to me, but I was never told that the chow mein is ONLY vegetables. All I was told is that it HAS vegetables.
What I got was chop suey with chicken when I ordered chow mein and when I asked about it it was "exactly what I ordered" and that "they warned me about it."
Chow Mein literally means "fried noodles." What was the thought process behind making "Chow Mein" anything BUT what it literally is?!

At least I could exchange my chop suey with chiken for lo mein even though lo mein is boiled and it's not really what I wanted but whatever.
At least the food is good otherwise.

We have eaten here on several occasions now and I finally feel it's appropriate to write a review. The chicken fried rice is somewhat bland, the chicken is chewy and fatty, the crab rangoon had only a little bit of filling (it was mainly doe and air), and the general tso was not spicy at all. Sadly we won't be ordering from them anymore, sadly because it is the last Chinese restaurant we are willing to eat at in Deforest. (the other one in town my wife and I got food poisoning from a while back)

I typically order chicken fried rice with extra chicken to have a good base between all restaurants. This rice was great! It was not overly buttery which is a quick way to make it tasty but not very healthy. I had Pieces of chicken fat in with the rice which I can respect because it has that buttery feel and also adds flavor. The egg roll I ordered was good too. I wish there was a Chinese buffet out here but the population is small so it has potential to be a waste of food and money so I get that.

Today May 2017 I went to Chang Jiang and I ordered Fryed crab stick only to find out it was hollow i asked the cashier I think he introduced himself as Corey I can't completely remember but i asked about how long the crab sticks have been in the restaurant...he shrugged and that I shouldn't worry about it...sketchy.

Walked in with a huge order of over $100, they got the order completely right, gave us complimentary soda and appetizers and cooked it all in less than 30 minutes. Food was delicious, I would recommend crab Rangoon and General Tso's chicken, or really anything...best Chinese in Deforest!

The General Tso's chicken here is outstanding. The sweet and sour chicken is also very good. The prices are fair for the most part when you are ordering a lunch or a dinner. Prices start to get a bit much if you order food by the carton.

Food is excellent but they make way too many mistakes and it's always in THEIR favor. The third mistake was the last for us and we will no longer be patronizing this restaurant. Because they don't think of putting a name or number on orders and just go by what you order, quite often you can walk away with someone else's order. And since they don't speak very good English, they have a hard time understanding anything you say, which makes miscommunications even more likely. I don't know why this restaurant can't figure out that common sense says that everyone's order should at least have a NAME OR AN ORDER # to avoid confusion on orders. For the third time, we got someone else's order for twice the cost of the food we ordered, so we take it back and they refused to re-ring the order, even refused to give us change for the overage. All they would do is give us a gift certificate so that we can get an order wrong a fourth time. Keep in mind, this was THEIR mistake, not ours. Too bad they don't seem to know what they're doing because the food is good. If you go to this restaurant, since they refuse to use a SMART way to distinguish orders, LOOK in your bag and take inventory on everything that you ordered before you leave. That's about the only way you can get what you ordered at this restaurant

There food is ok. I mainly like the crab Rangoon. My normal order for Chinese is usually Hunan chicken but there's taste funny compared to others I've had. Today I went in and ordered to orders of crab Rangoon. Easy to make, throw in deep fryer. I understand there was a lot of people waiting for food so I stood outside holding my 10month old son. Also people coming in to pick up orders. Finally when the lobby clears out I go inside to wait longer, finally after waiting for 15-20min I'm asked what did I order. Tell the guy and my food was sitting on the counter already ready to go. No apology nothing. Very rude service.

They provide the ability to order online...don't use it! You aren't totally covered if you call ahead either. If you come in and order in person, they still may mess up your order. Today, I ordered online and went to pick the food up at the designated time. The young man at the register, who clearly wasn't happy to be there, looked for my order and obviously couldn't find it. After talking to all the staff, he came back, asked again what I ordered, rang me up, took my card and didn't say anything to me about how they lost my order. I had to ask him if they started my order and how long it would be. There were at least 15 other people in the tiny room waiting for their food. I overheard one group say "ok, we'll give them 5 more minutes than ask again." Finally, when it go too crowded, another employee came up and started reading off the items in all the orders that had been sitting on the counter at least as long as I had been there. The room cleared out - everyone's food had been ready but the cashier made no attempt to hand it out. Another 10 minutes later, my order was done and I was out of there. I get home, and find out that they either gave me someone else's food, or got my order completely wrong.

Overall I love the food. It's the best Chinese around. However the service is sketchy at best. When i go in to order i get exactly what I order. No problems, no questions. However when my boyfriend goes and orders the order is always wrong. Wrong size, over charged, wrong item, something. Tonight he ordered steamed broccoli and a large sauce. This would normally cost me about $8. He was charged $14, & didn't even get a large sauce. He won't call and complain because he likes the food, & doesn't want there to be issues in the future. Not happy with the customer service at all.

The food is fair for takeout. Usually I prefer to dine-in with Chinese food (buffet selection). I live nearby, so it's mainly a convenience thing. I have eaten at several of these franchises in the area and usually am very happy. I gave it a 3 originally, cuz I've had better, and I've had worse. Dropped to a 2 because I've had a few bad occasions with service or items missing/wrong/overcooked. My favorite takeout item is General Tso's but the last 3 times I ordered it from this location the only thing I could taste was burnt breading on the chicken. I think they either changed owners or changed cooks. I still haven't given up, mainly cuz its so close to home. Be warned, you may be disappointed.

Chang Jiang's is by far the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. The only thing that could make this restaurant better would be delivery. Their prices are fair and I am lucky enough to live within walking distance of the restaurant. They have a few tables to eat inside or wait for your food.
