I am not the type of person to leave bad reviews, however this was unacceptable. My wife and I came in a couple of days ago in the morning around rush hour and I understand that it gets busy but waiting 40 minutes for a 4inch sandwich is horrendous!!! Then I smell a very strong marijuana smell and I noticed the manager come in and yell at the rest of the workers. I understand it’s a weed theme sandwich shop but that doesn’t mean you smoke on the job! My food was good even though it was missing the sauce and had little to no topping with lots of oil on it. I wouldn’t come back to this location again.

I’ve been to lots of Cheba Huts (including Denver, Co) and have loved every one of them. Sadly, this one I left extremely disappointed.

My sandwich came out after about 15-20 minutes, which is longer than it usually takes. I am not expecting Jimmy John’s speeds, but when I was one of 3 people in the store, I didn’t expect a long wait. My issue wasn’t with the wait time, but the fact my sub had a tiny amount of meat and an extreme lack of veggies. The bread was over toasted and falling apart. I wish I had taken pictures but I was starving after not eating breakfast and didn’t even think about taking pictures. The pretzel bites were also burnt and not enjoyable.

My girlfriend ordered a mimosa and it was warm. Had to ask for ice, and something about it still tasted extremely off.

I’d recommend going to the other Milwaukee location.

Cheba Hut... there are no words. I first discovered you when I was working in Denver and branching out looking for new sandwich joints. This place caught my eye at first, then held my attention upon arrival, and lastly captured my heart once I had left. I always loved being dispatched back to Denver because I knew exactly what was in store, but I of course was quite disappointed every time I had to relocate. Years later now that I'm in Wisconsin, I decided to check out the best food in Milwaukee. I about lost my mind, as if I had just stumbled upon tangible dark matter which I could control and manipulate with ease, as I see CHEBA HUT on the map only 30 mins away. I was going to take my wife to a fancy dinner this weekend, but it was unanimous between her and I, and Cheba Hut became #1 priority. I don't know how you guys do it but the vibe, flavor, menu, and service are all remarkable 100% of the time. As very few things are without flaw, I would only say it's slightly pricey. Then again, that's probably just us getting too exHIGHted and buying extra sandwiches for future meals haha. Keep it up, Cheba Hut!(bars)....You guys are killing it!

Our first time here on Thursday, Darius thoroughly answered all of our questions about the menu, and hooked us up with exactly what we wanted on our sub. I usually order from the downtown location, but this one's closer to my house. This location sucks in comparison. If you order online from the Cheba Hut website it is $1.20 more for the "pinner", even if you are just picking up your own sandwich and ordering it yourself! I don't understand why the upcharge. My first time at Cheba Hut, had a great experience, the vibes inside the shop were great, nice decorations and whole lot of fun stickers. I was greeted right away, asked a lot of questions about the subs and the young man behind the counter answered all of them politely, I had built my own turkey sub with everything on it and provolone. ended up throwing it in the airfryer when i got home since I like my subs double toasted, and it was delicious 🤤.well definitely go back for more.

This place is SO COOL.

First time we ever tried these subs was through Grubhub and we immediately fell in love with them! So today we decided to take a trip out to the store in person to grab some food to go ourselves and the experience was great. We were greeted by the nicest dude who had no issues explaining the menu. The environment is very chill and laid back and the food was made within 5 to 7 minutes. Food was made to perfection and I am not obsessed with their honey mustard. This is probably one of our favorite restaurants from now on, hands down! 🤙🏻

I got the Thai Stick, 12". way too much lettuce, not enough of the actual chicken and other toppings it says it has. cheese was severely lacking. for a giant sub, you'd expect a little more of the meat and cheese and the pineapple (from the Thai Stick), yes? maybe I'm too much of a foodie but for what's being served, I'd expect more on the sub.

I absolutely love Cheba Hut so know that this 2 star has nothing to do with the food but everything to do with the "manager." My fiancée and I got a gift card for Christmas. I've tried using it twice before today but their gift card system was down. Totally get it. Things happen. Both times the staff were super sweet and understanding so I was never upset to pay regularly. Today I tried placing an order online and couldn't use the gift card so I called this location and spoke to a woman. I told her that I tried using the gift card online but it wasn't working so I'd like to place an order over the phone to use it. she took my order and when i tried to give her the gift card info she said "mmm can you just like come in with it instead." Sure. When my fiancée went in to pick it up they said they don't accept gift cards. I called immediately after he told me this and spoke with the same woman who is apparently the manager and asked her why she didn't tell me that over the phone before we drove all the way there. I have never been met with so much disrespect and attitude in my life. Not a single apology until I started pushing my concern and even then it was definitely a sorry not sorry. No resolution to my problem or even a concern on how to fix it. I was told that it is what it is and to figure it out. The cherry on top was getting hung up on in the middle of my sentence. I've been in food/customer service my entire life and the service I received today was mind-blowing. I will continue to support Cheba Hut because I do love the food and the bartenders I've had are splendid. Just don't expect much if you ever need a manager and hope you don't meet this one.

This just may be the worst food I have ever spent money on.
First the French Onion soup was virtually colored hot water with some bread, raw red onion floating in it with a pinch of shredded cheese. I also ordered the AK-47 (French Dip)
Roast beef, portobello, onion, shrooms, double provolone & Shake. Served with a side of Au Jus.
The actual sandwich was void of any flavor and while the Au Jus was darker than the soup it was still just hot water with no flavor.
I would hate to see what a sandwich would look like with the regular amount of cheese, because the "double provolone" was meager. On a positive note, the tap beer was COLD and the lines must be cleaned on a regular schedule because the taste was crisp and fresh. I would not waste any more of my money, there are plenty of MUCH better food options available.

Grefio was missing tomatoes and mushrooms service was slow I mean they have a sign saying to be patient but 30 minutes is a long time to wait so a sub that was not made correctly

The flavor and bread was good on my Italian blunt, but the meat was a little on the meager side. I counted 3 slices of paper thin salami and ham. Had a lot of lettuce on it. Not worth the money I paid for.

Horrible service. I ordered online through their website. The food came an hour after it was picked up for delivery and when I received the food it was made wrong. I called the store, they don’t answer most times, and when I did get through, the woman was rude and seemed to think I was in the wrong. I ordered a Magic Mushroom sub that comes with pineapple but instead of oineapple it had banana peppers. I informed her of this and stated, “the magic mushroom comes with bell pepper and pineapple” I said yes but it came with banana peppers and not pineapple. I am at work and unable to go to the store so I asked for a credit, just a credit since they made the sub wrong but I was told they can’t do that. They can’t credit someone for their own mistakes? Awful service, terrible attitudes. I will never go back.

Do not order from Cheeba Hut on food delivery apps like Doordash. Our food was cold, items were forgotten, the bread was flat and stale. This is so weird because I’ve had Cheeba Hut in Colorado and it was delicious so I was excited to hear we were getting one in my neighborhood but our dinner last night was so disappointing and I’m hoping it was because it was ordered through Doordash. I am going to give them one more chance and go into the store to eat it to see if it’s as good as I remember and I’ll update my review then. However, it’s a sub.. it was kind of created to be a to go meal so it really should have been better.
