As the previous reviewer said - not a "go-to" place - but I will definitely say the prices and portions can't be beat. I enjoyed my general tso's tofu meal. It was fast, hot, tasty and the tofu was cooked pretty well. I look forward to trying more options. I definitely will return when I am lazy and don't want to drive to get Dong Po in Appleton.

Ordered yesterday , May 5. Worst Chinese food I ever had ! Food tasted like something was missing ? Spice / Seasoning ? Only ate half - threw it in garbage - Won Ton Soup = all mush - couldn't even eat a won ton , as all the won tons were basically non existent. Looked like they went through a shredder. Threw the soup in garbage also. Called to complain - their answer - we will tell the cook. My response - FIRE that cook ! Will not go back ever!

The customer service was great and that is super important and appreciated. However, the lunch I ordered was not great. I got the lunch combo, General Tso’s chicken. Pretty bland and there was a bone in one of the pieces of chicken. The sauce on the chicken didn’t have much flavor and the rice was a little overcooked. The food was disappointing but due to the good service I’d be willing to try a different dish with them.

China Gate is my go-to place for great Chinese food in the Kimberly area. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. I love the Beef Lo Mein and the Hot and Sour Soup! Can't go wrong with the General Tso's chicken, though, either. The workers are friendly, but the restaurant is small and not ideal for dining in, so I always get take out. Great take-out spot!

This is the best Chinese food around. But when I order online, I will often give special instructions such as: no sauce please, please include chopsticks... Stuff like that. Ordered dinner from here last night and very disappointed; this used to be our go to spot for Chinese. We ordered orange chicken, general tsos chicken, and Egg drop wonton soup. Both chicken entrees were way overcooked and hardly had any sauce. I dont know if it was because the delivery took so long but the sauce ended up chunky at the bottom of the dish instead of the chicken. The worst part is that I found a pebble in the food (pic). The soup was bad as well, the wontons noodles were not fully cooked and the soup had a gelatinous consistency.

I’m an over the road truck driver, with a refined pallet. This restaurant should have a much higher rating. I’m giving 5 stars across the board, hoping to bring the average up. It should be 4.7-4.8. This place is WELL ABOVE most average Chinese restaurants, nationwide. I got 3 items: Spring rolls, Hot & Sour Soup, & Roast Pork Egg Foo Young.
The spring rolls were the only negative. Flavor was fine, but they were small! About 75% of the average size. I wouldn’t order them again.
The Soup is something I can judge any restaurant on……so I tried it first. It was “on point”! Better than 80% of restaurants I’ve tried. It was the way it’s supposed to be. Didn’t blow my mind but it was on par with the best I’ve had (in the ballpark).
The Foo Young was great! The flavor was all there! Plenty of roast pork, and the gravy was good as well.
The white rice was perfectly cooked.
If I lived around here, I would look forward to trying other menu items.
Based on what I had, this place is a solid Chinese Restaurant. Not sure where the low rating comes from……but it’s wrong! 4.7-4.8 all day long!

The food was authentic and very tasty! I am southeast Asian and I know what authentic should taste like! You will not be disappointed! The szechuan beef was flavorful and spicy. The hot and sour soup was well balanced and full of tasty bits.

I was hesitant at first due to reviews, but went ahead and had it delivered via Uber eats. It was exactly what I wanted and delicious. I highly recommend their food.

We ordered three entrees from China Gate restaurant for take out. The food was ready on time and hot. But, our Curry Chicken and Singapore Chow Mee Fun, was so overloaded with dried hot red pepper pieces and red pepper seeds it was inedible! It is labeled spicy , but this was beyond hot for us who regularly eat spicy food. The Beef Chop Suey, was made was thick, flavorless gravy. My husband and I ordered $60 worth of food for ourselves, and the amount we got for the price was horrible. Our food came cold, soggy and tasted disgusting. Husband ordered chicken and fried rice. Barely any chicken, missing a pork roll, and his “fried” rice was just flavorless yellow rice. I ordered orange chicken and white rice. My white rice was the only thing in our whole order that was warm. My chicken didn’t taste like anything, and was soggy and just overall disgusting. The pork rolls and crab rangoons that we did get were basically just fried outside with almost nothing in the middle. Never will be ordering from here again. We should’ve ordered pizza.

Just ordered several different dishes from them and the order was accurate and tasty. This is the first time I've ever had Chinese at any restaurant that didn't just dump salt all over everything and call it flavor. Even the chicken fried rice had barely any! I didn't go home and drink a half gallon of water afterwards. I don't think I'll order from any other local places again because they win just based on that.
Their soup prices are crazy low too and they're not too oil and salt heavy, most leaning towards tangy flavor and mixed textures to carry the dish. Everything was cooked perfectly too. I'm very impressed and their prices are really good. I think anyone else complaining had a rare mix up or is expecting the quality of Chinese food you'd get for triple the money at an up-scale sit down restaurant. Um, no.

It’s ok, but not as good as it used to be. Fried rice was bland and flavorless. Only good thing was my eggroll and even that was 5/10. Step up your game.
