I'm usually a big fan of China One along with all of Ocononowoc. Howerever, lately the lady that ran this business hasn't been there for my last couple of visits over several months. i hate to say this was quite a disappointing experience. My mom had ordered our food an hour before I had went in to pick it up and I still sat there for another 45 minutes. The guy at the desk was especially rude to my mom when they forgot to put in our egg rolls the first time I had came in, and my mom had to go in a second time where she was treated terribly after she had done nothing wrong and was polite after paying more then what I had previously picked up. The food was good, but the service was definitely not.

I just love this place! I moved to Minnesota a few years ago and every time I come home to visit, I MUST get my china one fix! Overall 5 stars, the only complaint I have on the food is I wish the pieces of chicken were smaller! Other than that, everything tastes amazing, the staff is always very friendly, and the time it takes to make the food is incredibly convenient! I highly recommend this place!

I hate posting negative but this was not a good experience. Ordered two kung pao chicken dinner combos, crab rangoo & egg rolls were good but the kung pao had very little flavor and the chicken was not edible. Tried five pieces, soft, mushy meat in the breading which really killed the texture, could be dark meat but I threw the meat all out. Veggies were okay, peanuts good but rice was just blah. Prices were fine, amount received was good, I wanted to really like this dish but hard pass. Such a bummer. ☹️

We've been coming here for years. ALWAYS the best service here. Everyone is so friendly, and they work so hard. We were there on New Years eve. Very crowded, we waited quite some time. It's a no brainer, it's a holiday and if you waited till the last minute, expect a wait. Normally you order, and they will say 10 minutes. The wait on new Years eve was about an hour or so. Don't come in and expect 10 minutes. I couldn't believe some of the angry, upset people. Some were down right rude. These guys worked their butts off to get all the orders done. It took some time, but they got the job done.

I eat rice everyday for 40 years now. What is wrong with fried rice.....did you have a kid cook the rice or you forgot to push the "cook" button? They still used the rice even though it's undercooked. For sure, the rice is not even cooked (you see how solid white it look under the yellow). Will never order fried rice again! Had to throw it out. The rest of the food is decent. I like King'sWok in Hartland way better. Not going out of my way to rder here again for sure.....what a disappointment😞.

This is a chinese take out restaurant. And I Regularly order crab Rangoon, sweet and sour chicken, pork egg foo young, beef and broccoli, vegetable lo mein, vegetable with bean curd, pork and vegetable fried rice. There seems to be newer staff lately(last year maybe?) but it's due the better. Orders are completed faster and the fried items are less greasy. Seems to be the same materials, but better prepared. I wish I could do a zero but unfortunately it won’t let me. The lady cooking the frozen egg rolls and frozen crab ragu sneezed a few times didn’t wash her hands. We ordered two dinners sweet and sour chicken which you could tell was frozen and the smallest pieces ever and orange chicken which was also frozen. When we got home I tried a piece of the orange chicken and I threw up. It tasted like it was rancid and zero orange flavor. We called to let them know and the lady on the phone just blew it off. Needless to say we threw out the food and praying that I don’t get sick. Do Not Go Here if you value your health and your hard earned money. The only reason we went here is because the really good Chinese food restaurant in Ocon. that is in Pabst Farms was closed.

Had almost a $100 order last night with almost each item having special instructions. Not only did they get the entire order done perfectly, they had it done in less than 15 minutes! And the FOOD!! The food, all of it, was amazing! From the chicken sticks to the egg foo young, the chow Mai fun... I could go on. But the shrimps.... were large and done perfectly in each dish. Fresh and juicy. We have ordered numerous times, and always the vegetarian egg foo young. First time it had mushrooms as listed. Next time it had none. We called and they pleaded ignorance. Every time after we had to ask. We had company last night and the patties were burned to a crisp. Very embarrassing. Decided not to call, because we probably would have gotten the same response as before.

On another note, the young lady there is very nice. The young man on the other hand, does not want to be there which is obvious by his attitude.

Very unsanitary and disgusting experience. I went to pick up my food. While packing up my food with her ungloved hands, the lady helping us wiped her nose 3 times and continued touching my food items. When I confronted her about it she denied it, said they have all been “tested” and told me not to come back. I said that’s great that you’ve been tested but you just wiped your nose bare handed while packing up my food. Pandemic or no pandemic, this is highly unsanitary. The people who regulate restaurant sanitation should be notified.

I only took the food in the first place because my child who has special needs was very excited for his meal and would have had a meltdown if we didn’t have it. Once I discovered there was no silverware added to the bag, that was the last straw, I called the restaurant asked about utensils and also said I’d like a refund because the woman was wiping her nose with her bare hands while packing our food. She must not have heard me. Doesn’t matter because I asked her why she did this when I arrived and this is when she told me they were all “tested”.

I made the mistake of taking the food in the first place. I should have spoken up when the food first came out. So I apologize for that. The point here is that the employee who was serving up our food was wiping her nose with her bare hands while packing up my food…right IN FRONT of me. That is just gross and unsafe restaurant behavior. I’m happy they refunded my money. I hope for the rest of the public, this restaurant will put in place consistent hygiene practices in the future.

We had a shrimp dish and a chicken and shrimp combo dish. The sauces on both were tasteless. My combo had 2 shrimp in it the rest was chicken. The shrimp in my wife’s dish was soft and mushy. We’ve been ordering from China One for years. Unfortunately our recent experience was very disappointing. The Egg Foo Young was OK but the gravy was super salty. The Beef and Broccoli was a 1 star. The beef was so chewy and it had a strange flour coating that looked like fat. I fished out all the beef and tossed it in the trash. Essentially I paid $10.95 for broccoli and rice. We won’t be going back.

I have been a China One customer for years. They are fast no matter how busy they are; it is a rare occasion that I am told more than 5-10 minutes. The food is consistently good and they will customize the order to your liking, adding spice, etc. The owners are extremely dedicated to their business and NEVER take a vacation, which is unfortunate. I was told by a friend that this place had the best Chinese food in Oconomowoc now that Fong's is out of business. Fong's was my all-time favorite Chinese restaurant in Oconomowoc for a long time until they were forced out of business by the city who wanted to build a park on their land. Well anyway, back to China One. I was really hungry for Chinese after work one day and so I decided to take my friends word for it and try them out. I usually only buy 3 or maybe 4 different types of Chinese dishes, but I want those few dishes cooked the way they were meant to be cooked. So I ordered "an order" of pork egg foo young, a "quart" of chicken fried rice, two shrimp egg roll's and almond cookies. I was not very happy with what I received. In my opinion, fried rice should always be made with egg, bean sprouts, onion, soy sauce and then the meat/seafood of your choice. What I received was white rice with what looked like canned pea's and canned carrots, and white meat chicken. Hardly any soy sauce, no egg, no onion, no bean sprouts. I could have lived without the bean sprouts, but not the other things. The second disappointment was they only gave me a pint, but I paid for a quart. They package it in a 1 or 2 inch high black plastic dish. When I got home, I moved it to a 1 quart container and it only filled half of it. Third, the egg foo young was white! I have never eaten egg foo young that looked like that before! No soy sauce, no onion, no bean sprouts, just what looked like egg whites and very little pork. Not very flavorful. They did give you 3 large patties though. The gravy was fine, but the container it came in broke and spilled all over. The egg roll's had exactly 1 small shrimp in each one, lol. I guess you can call it a shrimp egg roll if there's one in there. The cookies were ok. I was really hungry, so the food did fill me up, but I will not order from there again. On the bright side, they served the food quickly, were polite and kind, and let you take your own sauces, napkins, utensils and chop sticks! The restaurant was clean and busy, as several pick-ups were made while I waited. I wish the food would have been better and more to my liking, but obviously others like it. I guess I'll keep searching for that great Chinese restaurant!

I’m sorry about a orders about the man above or below saying that he payed $52 and said that the the food was cold, we’re sorry about that but it was kind of a big order so we couldn’t exactly do it in 5 minutes or if it’s busy it’ll get more minutes to finish the food. But when you returned the food to us you only gave us 3 of the 6 things you ordered. But also the temperature outside is getting colder by the days, we’re sorry once again, but the food will get a little colder when winter comes. It’s not summer everyday, but we’re still sorry about it. We also refunded the $52.

Forgot about this place when we moved to Hartland 8 years ago. The food is awesome, so many shrimp in my Spicy Shrimp, won't be able to eat them all.. The shrimp egg roll was one of the best I've had...I walked in passing through Oconomowoc and stopped in. Get lunch from here a couple of times a month. Never had a bad meal. It's always ready in 5 minutes or less. The owner is always nice and polite.
