I ordered the beet salad and Veal Marsala. I enjoyed both dishes and would recommend them. Service was okay not great I did notice tables near me were offered bread but I was never offered any. I was fine not having any but I still should have been offered it. Overall friendly staff, except for one lady. She never smiled and seemed like she did not want to be there. Also besides the service the may thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars was the horrible espresso. I believe it came from a Nespresso machine. Very disappointing.

Chicken parmessan was dry and overcooked. Pasta was dry and a somewhat bitter tomato flavor. Not enough sauce. Generous chicken portion. The blueberry bread pudding also was dry and very overcooked. The waitress was lovely but failed to acknowledge my comments about the food. She did not offer to bring the manager to our table. The red wine by the glass was at best ok. We loved the venue. A beautiful place on a lovely street. If we go to Ciao again and the food is overcooked, we will send it back.

Our noodles were undercooked and we were not impressed by the sauce. They weren't "al dente" in the least. Our waitress was very kind and on the ball. We told the manager about our experience and he made it right.
We might try again in the future, but will ask for the noodles to be cooked at least a few more minutes.

I tried the Chicken Parmesan at Ciao and overall it was a good experience, but a few things kept it from being perfect. The portion size was generous and the plate looked great when it arrived.
That said, the sauce was a bit too dark and slightly bitter for my taste, and there wasn't quite enough of it. The chicken was crispy but came out darker than expected and had a slightly oily flavor. Also, the pasta on the side was a little cold, which took away from the comfort of the dish.

Wow, first time visitors and very disappointed. A Friday night and it was busy, but the bartender was serving food at the bar, so taking our drink request obviously was not priority. That was not cool. Asked for a drink menu and he literally just tossed them at us and walked away. Then when we sat down for dinner the waitresses were to busy clearing tables to take notice. 15 minute wait for a waitress and, she apologized because she thought someone else was going to take our order. No bread on the table. This is an Italian restaurant wannabe.

This was one of those restaurants that I will forever remember, and make an effort to visit again if I am passing through the area. The ambiance that greeted you while just walking in was so relaxed, and the layout of the dining area was cozy but not claustrophobic. My waitress Amanda was very friendly and engaging, she made sure to check in often and provided excellent service. The food was absolutely delicious, and I personally recommend the crème brûlée for dessert, it is quite delectable. Such an enjoyable experience all around. I cannot say enough good about the restaurant, food and wonderful staff! I can honestly say it was THE BEST pasta I’ve had in my life, and we even spent over two weeks in Italy. had Cacio e Pepe which was Bucatini Pasta (my favorite) tossed with cracked pepper and parmigianno-reggiano (a light flavorful cream sauce) and grilled chicken. They make the pasta fresh daily and Chef Adam prepares the food. My husband had fantastic Beef Wellington and Garlic Mashed.
The decor was perfect and our server Amanda was absolutely top-notch.
It’s not often that I ask to speak to the chef, but tonight it was a must. He was humble and kind.
If you ever go to Wausau (they also have a restaurant in Three-Rivers) go there!

Last time we came here food and service was great. This time around, we walked in and looked around noticing all the tables had reserved signs and right before we turned around to leave one of the servers stopped us and asked if we were there for the event (not even in a nice tone) of course we responded with no. The server then said “there’s a sign outside, we’re closed to the public” in a snobby rude tone, mind you the sign is not very visible and there was zero signage on the doors which we were looking for when we first walked in realizing some event was happening. She could’ve handled it in a much nicer way seeming how this is a fine dining experience. We were completely fine leaving, we had no issue that an event was happening but her tone and the way she handled it is something I’d expect from a chain restaurant. Please put more signage out if there’s an event happening.

I took my parents, who are in their seventies, to Caio for a special birthday dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We arrived early, around 4:30, when the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Despite that, our waitress seemed rushed, barely made eye contact, and repeatedly forgot about us.

The food lacked flavor, especially for the price point, though I will say the desserts were excellent. Overall, it felt overpriced for the quality and service we received. Customer service matters, especially when guests are there to celebrate a special occasion — and sadly, Caio missed the mark for us.

We had a reservation yet we waited over 15 minutes before we had a server come to the table. The restaurant was not busy at this point. We ordered espresso martinis. They had ice in them with no foam and no espresso beans on top. Extremely sweet. Lemongrass served a much better version. Our food did not all come out at the same time and one of the dishes was cold by the time it got to the table. It seems like for what is supposed to be a nicer restaurant in Wausau that it was lackluster. It seems odd to me that our food would not come out at the same time as well. Pretty disappointed.

* Dirty Martini: One of the best I've had! Perfectly crafted with the ideal amount of brine and a smooth finish. It was the perfect way to kick off the meal.
* Lobster Bisque: Pure decadence in a bowl. The bisque was creamy, rich, and bursting with lobster flavor, with heart hunks of lobster meat. Each spoonful was a delight--definitely a standout dish.
* House made Ravioli with Ground Beef: This dish was comfort food at its finest. The ravioli was fresh and tender, the beef filling was seasoned to perfection, and the tomato sauce brought everything together in a harmonious way. It was hearty and satisfying, leaving me eager for the next bite.

Between the filet mignon being perfectly bleu which in itself is a challenge and the truffle Parm potatoes being absolutely wonderful and a perfectly made tira masu it was one of the most wonderful culinary experiences I've had yet. Appetizers and general flavor profile here is just exemplary. If you come here without trying the pasta, I'm afraid you've lost the plot. Highly recommend each and every single one, though the roast is particularly sublime. Expect richness in everything you eat, so pace yourself.

Recommend the wine over other drinks though, and they don't have any beer on tap. Make sure to communicate clearly to your servers though, acoustics indoors are kind of strange.

Twice in 3 weeks. Food was amazing. Perfect. Atmosphere is perfect. Service was, welll….same thing happened both visits. Server 1st time never mentioned specials. We heard another server describe them to the table behind us.

Tonite, she just said the specials where Walleye almandine and Chicken Marsala. Had ask if anything came with the Marsala, she said “no, everything is ala carte,” Then said mentioned it came with noodles.

Made a reservation to be safe, 7 pm Tuesday night. Made them aware it was our wedding anniversary. We show up, and the place is basically empty besides 3 other tables. The host decides to seat us literally 3 feet away from another couple/table. Terrible start, and we considered asking for another table, but that's not our style.

No bourbon menu, I had to get up and go to the bar to see what they had. It's not the end of the world, but I'm still quite surprised. The server said she actually appreciated I did that, given that the menu is "ever changing." I've been to plenty of establishments that don't seem to have this issue.

Order our starters. My wife got French Onion(solid). I ordered the Lobster Bisque, which I was told wasn't good, but decided to try it for myself. Well.....I should've known better. It's just awful. As you could probably guess, little to no lobster. It was separated, and there had to be a ton of butter in this stuff. The lady 3ft away had the same thing, and I overheard her say, "This is so rich, there's no way I can eat anymore. Disgusting."

The Entrees were good. My wife had the Ravioli, and I had the Filet. No complaints from my wife, and I confirmed it was good with a sample bite. My steak was cooked perfectly to my liking and super tender. Weird potato and veggie offering with the Filet that were drown in the Port Wine demi sauce, but it was still not bad.

Overall, for almost $150(with tip), we would not return nor recommend it, unfortunately.

Tonight was my first time at Ciao and it was fantastic! Everything I had was wonderful, but the Espresso and Stout Pork Belly was by far my favorite. It was so tender and delicious. The espresso and stout sauce was so delicious I wanted to drink what remained. The pear martini was not only beautiful but delicious. The Sausage & Gnocchi was probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. It was so tender and I think there was just as much sausage as there was gnocchi. All in all I would highly recommend Ciao. Ciao is one of the few places we can dine out as my wife is Celiac. The chefs and servers are very conscientious and concerned about safety.
Jenny, our server, was great. Very friendly and perfectly attentive.
The meal was great! I had the giant ribeye, which was perfectly medium rare and tender. My wife had the special for the evening, which was a melt-in-your-mouth, pan seared tuna. I believe it was created and prepared by Chef Adam.

Chef Adam does an AMAZING job! Dined with Calamari for an appetizer, our entrees were the specials tonight, Beef Wellington and the Hallibut, and wrapped it all up with an expresso martini and ice cream topped apple bread pudding. Jan was an excellent and attentive server who kept it all coming until we couldn't eat another fabulous bite! The food here is always fantastic! Please don't hesitate to try this place out! You will not be disappointed! The staff, food, and atmosphere are truly top-notch!

The food is always so great. I always struggle with what to order because everything is so uniquely delicious. and the servers take time to make you feel welcome as well as make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Our meal was absolutely amazing. Amanda, our great server recommended the halibut special. It was the best halibut I’ve ever had. Amanda made our evening extra special with her suggestions, attentive service and fun personality. We were on a Girl’s weekend and she could have joined right in! We’ll be back for sure. Don’t hesitate to visit Ciao, it’s is exceptional.

1st time eating here. The atmosphere was nice, music was a little loud for the dining area. We had a Charcuterie Board of meat, cheeses & crackers which was very good. My main dish was Breaded Chicken Parmesan and my husband had the Braised Pork & Beef. My noodles were cold when it came but they remade them and they were hot and fresh otherwise very good and leftovers for the next day.

I finished every last morsel of food. Didn’t have any room for desert but it looked amazing.
The specials are out of this world.

Exceptional dining experience! Our server Jordan was amazing! Don’t skip the porkbelly appetizer! I had the lobster bisque before my meal and it was so yummy and rich! Crab Cakes for dinner hit the spot! Ugh drooling writing this review might go back after I click “post”! Tiramisu was the best way to finish that dinner it was homemade and hit the spot! Definitely recommend this place! You won’t regret it!

We decided to try Ciao as we were looking for something a little fancy but relaxed. We arrived at 4 PM, which was just after they opened, and there was no waiting and plenty of seating choices. The menu was varied and relatively affordable. About what you'd expect for a fancier restaurant. There's outdoor seating, too. We would go again.
