I ordered a taco salad with roast beef. The bottom of the shell had roast beef drenched in gravy. Very little lettuce was on top of it. No olives, sour cream or anything I expect to find on a taco salad. I should have sent it back as very disappointing. I have been there previously for tacos. Very skimpy with no sauce, sour cream or what I like on a taco. I won’t be returning as there are other eating places in BRF.

We typically love going here. The food is always good and tastes fresh. The environment is fun and staff are nice. However, we had a cockroach on our table today during lunch. 2nd time here. Was going to give them 3 stars, but this is the second time here and not getting a drink refill. That's a big ticket issue for me. I understand if they are very busy, but that wasn't the case. Also still waiting for my bill 15 minutes after finishing my food. Walked by numerous times, but didn't bother asking if I needed anything. Food was good/ok, but in the pricey side for what it is... Environment is what you'd expect. I likely won't be back!

The food was fine and the waitress was good. However, they charge for verde which is the same as an American food place charging for ketchup. I consider this unacceptable behavior for a restaurant. Then to top it off they have a credit card surcharge. Those charges are the cost of doing business and if you want them covered by the customer give a cash discount not add it on after.

Wow, I could never be more disappointed... this had a 4.4 stars review, so I thought it was a nice little restaurant we could grab some grub. The server came over and took the order immediately... then it all began. The kid running around the restaurant threw a toy or candy at us picture below \/ and we saw him bother other customers jumping on their seats and such. Then we wait 30 minutes for our food for the server to come up and was like "did you guys get your food yet" no lol so I'm assuming the order was never put in she comes back another 15 minutes later with a few plates and she says "I don't know what this is" and hands the plats out randomly. My s.o starts eating his food and so does his friend. me and the friends s.o wait for our food mine comes out first. The waitress comes back out and says they are making a steak one. Well, that's not what she orderd she orderd chorizo. So I tell the waitress, and she goes and puts in the order in she comes back and tells us we have to pay for the extra plate. "No." I say we didn't order that, and it's not our fault you didn't know what you're handing out. She she tells us if my s.o. gives his HALF EATEN PLATE BACK.. we won't have to pay. Ok, hands the plate to her. Done deal. Now my s.o and my s.o's friends girlfriend sit without food whike we eat in front of them another 10 minutes later they bring my s.o food and then 5 minutes later they bring out hers we all finish and get ready to leave and go to the bathroom the witch are ok but kinda dark. So we pay, and the bill is 90 dollars. idk if all that was really worth it, but a little work on this place, and it could be a lot nicer.

Used to be Pretty good food.. typical atmosphere of this style restaurant. Been here a few times as well as ordered takeout, figure it was time for a review. Really used to like the place. Overall I would say the food is was average but has been declining. Seems whenever I place an order for pickup my bill never matches the cost this is my third time noticing it so I figured it was worth saying. 2 toastaguac 3.99 a piece and a order of 3 tacos 12.49 w tax is 21.59. yet our bill this time was 28.59 not sure how And this is not the first time I have noticed this. the prices seem to not match. In fact way high and they do not offer itemized receipts.. customer services below average subpar. Also I would avoid the shredded chicken as we found on our second visit what we believe to be birdshot BBs inside of it. It was definitely a small round metal or lead objects we did show it to the lady at the register.. They apologized and tried to keep it hush hush when I spoke out loud about it whispering their apology. We chose not to eat another bite afterwards she did remove it from our bill and took it away fast before other customers could see.. So we have chosen to stick with the grilled chicken and the beef which we have had no issues with other then quality has gone down. It's definitely not the best Mexican restaurant I've been to, by any means but it's was the only one in town.. but I think for tacos strictly I prefer the super street tacos and they will get my business from now on.

Located in a cute “downtown” area of Black River Falls - Cinco De Mayo was a great choice for us. We didn’t have too much time to try all their amazing dishes but certainly had their steak fajitas and jalapeños margaritas!

This use to be a good stop. The food this time was sub prime. Not good at all. Our server came to our table to take our order, some guy in sweatshirt served our food, groose.... it's just not managed well at all. Have your staff come to work and wear uniforms, not hang out with family and friends and then jump up to help. Manage your restaurant before you have no guests. Very sad what's happened to this place.

The waitress took our order then never came back to our table. I ordered the chicken salad and my mother ordered the shrimp salad. We got our "salads" with about 3 bites of lettuce and hardly any meat, it was smaller than any side salad I've ever gotten but is supposed to be a dinner salad. I also got no dressing but couldn't ask for more because the waitress never returned. So we waited and waited and waited and as we were getting up to leave a waiter finally hands us our bill. I'll never go back.

I arrived with a few others at dinner time. We waited about 30 minutes for our drink orders to be taken and then a while for our orders to be taken.
The chips and salsa were the worst I have ever had from a mexican restaurant. The chips were soggy and the "salsa" tasted like they poured a can of tomato sauce in the bowl. Very disappointing.
The entrees were okay. I wanted to order tacos but they had nothing but meals with three tacos, which is too many for me. I looked to the ala carte as I do with many mexican places but there were no tacos listed. So I opted for a burrito and a side of rice. The ala carte menu was $3.25 for a beef burrito and $2.99 for the side of rice. I was charged $8.99 for a "lunch special" when it should have only been $6.50. Very disappointing. The burrito was also only filled with beef. So, a tortilla with just beef inside and nothing else? Pretty poor.
Overall, I would say poor service, poor food and way too expensive.

Whimsically decorated and really lovely staff are a great start to this restaurant. We were greeted warmly and the waiter brought over a high chair for our toddler. The menu had more options than I expected and I appreciated a vegetarian section. My portion was way bigger than I expected, but maybe that's just me. Also, this is Wisconsin, I got a ton of cheese on my burrito.

Better be a local, because you'll receive the best service. Came in with my mum and waited about 5 minutes to be seated. Then a group came in right behind us, of locals that get the same table, same level service. The "manager" tried seating them first. Of course, they got their food first. My mum's fajitas weren't that cooked thoroughly and the rice was overcooked and cold.
Last left a review 2 years ago and service has gotten worse. Our server was nice though about it.
Sunnyside has excellent food and service... it's not Mexican, but you'll get good food and service there.

I went there with a friend after an afternoon of kayaking. The service was fast. The chips and salsa were good and just what we needed to tide us over until our meals arrived. Our food was oh, so very good! I would for sure return.
2 negatives.
1. The AC was really cold.
2. The lighting in the women's bathroom was extremely dim.
The 2 negatives are minor. Bring in a jacket/ sweater to keep warm. I'm not sure what to do about the bathroom lighting. I was there to eat, and the food did not disappoint.

This place has really gone down hill. Service was horrible. The owner seated us....That was nothing more than us following her and her throwing our two menus on a table and walking away.....Ok I guess we sit here. We sat there for oh 10 min before the one and only decent employee they have who was cleaning tables brought us chips. The margarita's were good. The food was ok at best. As we finished our meal at closing they cranked their music to the point of not being able to even have a conversation as we finished our meal. This place is trash. Save your money or if you want good Mexican food go to Arcadia you won't be disappointed. I hope the owner reads this because you know your business is failing 😉. Now back to my suggestion of going to Arcadia if you want great food and GREAT service go to Santa Fe the owner is Metao and is an awesome business owner and knows how to treat his customers and employees. PS I hope the gentleman cleaning the tables gets a new job you don't deseryto have a hard working employee like him.

Our family comes at least twice a month, sometimes more. The food is usually out extremely fast. There's almost always a large party celebrating a birthday or event when we go so it's always lively but they still get our order to our group quickly. We sometimes have a hard time getting a parking spot, but if your willing to walk around the corner it's a great spot to visit!

My friends and I stopped here for dinner on our way to Wisconsin Dells. We loved all of the art and bright colors in the restaurant… very cool atmosphere! I had the fajita taco salad and enjoyed it… it had a great amount of meat and veggies!
