Service was very good. Dave was really on the spot. We had the scallops and the ribeye. Scallops (6) were small and tasted so so. The ribeye was definitely nothing special. It was big, which is good because it had a lot of fat. I get that ribeyes have fat, but this seemed like a lot for the price. We hadn't been to Club Chalet in a long time and probably won't hurry back.

Wow just wow This place was amazing... Probably best salad bar I've ever seen! A small place service was great food was excellent! Did I say the salad bar was great yet? I had the tomahawk pork chop which was out of this world Ill be dreaming of this for months! Wife had the walleye which was excellent also! Probably one of the best supper clubs I've been to!

Took my wife out to the Chalet for her birthday and had a wonderful experience. First of all the whisky Manhattan was perfect, thank you Mandy! Kim, our waitress was wonderful and very attentive to our needs, thanks Kim! The food was top notch! I had the ribeye and Tina had the walnut salmon,.both were outstanding! Welcome to the purgatory.

Skip it. Seriously. Just skip it and save yourself the time, money, and disappointment.

On my way from Door County, I thought I'd stop by to grab dinner before I get back on the road and looked this supper club up. They didn't take reservations so fine, I just showed up as did everyone else. And here's how it went.

First of all, they should change the name to Purgatory because that would describe this place more adequately. You go in, ask for a table, get a physical number tag and… that's it. That's it for the next 40, 50, 70, or 90 minutes you'll just spend there, waiting for someone to fish you out and get you to a table.

So you sit or stand and wait. And wait. And wait. And not much seems to happen.

As you're given the number, you're told to proceed to the right, which is a loud bar area full of people in their 50s, 60s, and 70s looking equally confused as you are. In between loud music, orders, and people squeezed like on a basic economy flight, you feel like you've been coned for the first time.

So you wait. And wait. And wait some more. Mind you, no one ever tells you how long it's going to take, where you are in line, or what's even going on in this purgatory, sorry, meant supper club, of course. All the information you get is anxious looks from other guests who also got shepherded into the bar area and are looking in the other direction where the actual tables are. And they're just as lost and confused as you are. I guess, that's how purgatories work.

I came in after 5 pm and didn't sit down at the table until 7 pm.

So apparently that's how they manage their crowds. Everyone gets pushed into the rinky-dink bar area, so they order drinks and keep ordering drinks because that's what you do at a bar, right? And after you've had one or two or five, time doesn't quite run linearly, so whether someone comes to get you to your table 19 or 99 minutes later, what does it matter, right?!

Now here comes the best part.

For some sick, stupid reason, this purgatory, sorry, super club, doesn't fill all their tables during peak hours. They just don't. Instead -- and you can check that right after entering -- several tables are just left empty, as if to separate those sitting there. (Mind you, the eating area is at least twice as big as the bar area.) The moment I walked in, there were empty tables just waiting for someone to show mercy on them and fill them with people. More than an hour later, nothing changed: there was easily over a dozen or two of people sitting in the bar section and wondering where the hell they landed.

But tables 17, 5, 4, and 3 were still empty, and only about 60% of the dining area was occupied.

There was also some strange local ritual going on, which may be endemic to purgatories, since I've never been to one before. A young server, intern maybe, would come up to one of the tables located the closest to the entryway and change the table setting. Okay, fine. 15-20 minutes later he would reappear, remove the setting, and redo it, repeating the whole process. Mind you, no one was sitting at that table the whole time I was there, but tons of people squeezed like sardines sat in the bar area. What's that ritual called, purging (because it's a purgatory)?

The food was okay, edible. The first cup of soup I don't even remember, it just went down like a cup of water. It was supposed to be onion soup, but I guess onions or other vegetables just don't last in the purgatory. Chicken parmesan was exactly what you'd expect, nothing exciting at all. Oh, once you are deemed deserving of being admitted into the purgatory, sorry, the dining area, you can stuff yourself at the salad bar, so you feel really full afterwards, like you've just had the best meal of your life.

You haven't. It's just another way for the owners to trick you into thinking that it was all worth the money and the wasted time.

I ate as fast as I could and left.

At the checkout, expect to be flooded with fake enthusiasm, smiling, and jokes because, after all, you've had a great experience!

NO BRAINER, GO HERE! Our server Alysia was wonderful, a delightful person! Ok, now TL;DR: we've been to a lot of supper clubs. This is hands down THE BEST Supper Club! Everything starting with the Old Fashioned to the salad bar ( oh and they had herring, love it from my childhood) to the prime rib, which was perfect!!! ...and per my wife, don't get me started on the Pink Squirrel!!! Sooo gooood, worth the visit..

Sarah was amazing, grabbing our order before we sat down, helping us with our selections and doing it all with a big smile! We started with the salad bar which was huge! After that I had the baked french onion soup, yum! Then out came the walnut salmon with a baked potato - loaded with cheese bacon and chives!!! My friends had the lighter fare perch, the tenderloin tips and the steak! All were super pleased! Finally we had brandy alexander, Amaretto and grasshopper ice cream drinks that were so thick and delicious!!!! Definitely want to go again!

The atmosphere wasn't horrible. It's typical for an older supper club. I was disappointed that when we sat at a table in the bar, no one came to get a drink order or a waiting number for the dining room. Ultimately, we ended up going directly to the bar to be served and assigned a number. The food was good, and the waiter was very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. Steak prices are a bit steep, and my cut was a bit tough for a medium/rare. Overall, I would come back to give it another shot.

If we could give the Club Chalet seven stars, we would! I had the perch and my companion had the pork shank, both were outstanding. Salad bar is extensive, soups were exquisite, bread is fresh and hot served with cinnamon butter. Every item has its own unique flavor that speaks in a voice to compliment all the others. We were there at 409, and they opened at 4. We didn't get waited until 515. There was only 1 plate for each for the salad bar, meaning you only got one trip. My prime rib came, and half of it was fat. And it was cold. Our bill was $120,00
It was run so much better with the previous owners.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary! The drinks were delicious. We had an old fashioned and a martini. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly and very tender. I had the ravioli. I didn't care for the sauce but the mushrooms and ravioli itself were delicious. The salad bar was a meal in itself and the dill pickle soup was wonderful. Mandy at the bar and Barb in the dining room took great care of us. We enjoyed complimentary champagne as well. Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

Dining room was empty when we arrived but still had to wait at the bar. The only thing exceptional about the drinks was the high price. We got placed at a small table right at the dining room entrance and a few feet from the salad bar. It felt like we were at a hastily prepared card table or maybe at the “kids table. “ service was OK, not spectacular. Soups were incredibly thin. One wonders how you can make watery onion soup. Prime rib was good but nothing to write home about. Ribs were edible but drowned in an overly sweet barbecue sauce that could not cover the toughness or dryness of the meat. Sign out front said “ best of the bay” but I would not recommend this place. Our $100+ could have been better spent elsewhere

My wife and I consider ourselves foodies and eat out often. Where we live in northern Door County, which has a lot of higher end restaurants, none of them compare to Club Chalet. This supper Club is old school and literally 'out of this world' good! The salad bar is second to none and the old fashioned crock of French onion soup with the homemade crouton and cheese over the top is to die for. We recently discovered this place and I have tried four things on the extensive menu so far. Each one of them has been absolutely 100% incredible. On our first visit the waitress, who goes by Red Raspberry, was the most attentive to our needs, friendly, outgoing, and made us feel like we were old friends. I don't usually rave this much about anywhere but this truly is an outstanding place and experience. We drive 60 miles one way just to come here each time and I would do it again tomorrow. Thank you so much to the owners and the incredible staff. Bona Petite.

P.S. The bartender Brenda makes the best old-fashions hands down.

We Wanted to eat at a supper club. Called and they dont take reservations. If they did it may help with the craziness. We arrived at 5pm. We were told to take a number and menus, sit at bar and they would come find us to take order and be seated in dining area. We'll, there were no empty seats at bar so we couldn't even look at menus. After asking what waiting time was and the very young man staying he had no idea? We decided to leave. Mind you there were many tables available, which leads us to believe they want you to spend money at the bar before you sit to eat. We went down the road and had an awesome lobster and steaks for a lot less.

This was my first time at this place and the whole worse experience ever! It took 3 hours to even get a table! My salad had a dead soggy fly in my plate! The waiter didn’t even want to take the salad off my bill even having a dead fly. I will never be back! The waiter and waitress are very rude!

Food was edible. Nothing to write home about and definitely had better while traveling through Wisconsin. They claimed they had "the best cheese curds in Wisconsin". I've had better cheese curds in Illinois and Iowa than what they served.

Interesting concept, where if you have reservations and the dining room is half empty, you still have to sit awkwardly at the bar with the loud, over-served crowd and wait 15 minutes for your table.

Service was mediocre. It wasn't that they didn't have enough staff wandering around the place, it was more like they had no idea what service should look like at a restaurant where plates start out at $35.

Food was great. We were at the Chalet to celebrate our 50th anniversary with family. Carly was our waitress and did a fantastic job. Had our food and was just finishing ice cream drinks when another employee came up to our table and told us others were waiting for our table. I guess they fed us and were getting paid so get us out! Our bill was close to $400 not including before dinner drinks. I guess they don’t need our business.

I've had a poor experience yrs ago & never planned on returning. An employee convinced me to try again as he works in the kitchen. Well my family went for my grandsons birthday. I must say everything was perfect from the food to the service. My steak & lobster were done to perfection, as ordered. Our server was attentive. Everyone enjoyed their dinner & drinks. Expect to wait at least 2-3 hours or more if you arrive after 5pm. Bar is packed and nowhere to sit! Oddly enough the dinning room still has open tables with nobody seated. We haven't been to the Chalet for many years. I'm so glad we did. 1st of all there were drink specials and the pair of Mandy's behind the bar were awesome. 2nd one of their chefs were there on his off day. He recommended the special which was brisket Mac n'cheese. It was huge and amazing. We also had the ahi tuna entre, which was also good. Lots of locals at the bar and all were very friendly. Definitely recommend try them out.

Not recommended. The liquor selection in the bar was minimal. The wine was Woodbridge. The bar menu stated a few others, but I wouldn’t trust any to be drinkable. We had calamari that was tough, fishy, and interestingly all about the same size. The sauce served with the calamari was anybody’s guess. The salad bar was pretty nice. Everything I had was fresh. The baked French Onion Soup was pretty flavorless. I had the Prime Rib which was not freshly cut from a roast. It was like it was pre-made and individually packaged, then warmed for service. Overall,
A very poor showing. We won’t be back.

I do wish the owner would stop responding to me in the manner he is. I don’t need to be lectured, or accused of some notion he has for my comments hitting multiple review sites. Rather, he could let the favorable reviews speak and move on.

First time visiting.
Bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. Treated you like you should be treated. Hayden, Prescious, completed the serving staff. The decor gave a nice cozy feeling. Two dinners, prime rib and perch plate, with two French onion soup, salad bar and two loaded potatoes was under $95.

First timers. We arrived at 5:30. Bartenders were excellent! Super friendly and informative. Drinks were very good. Our server was spot on and attentive. The salad bar was one of the best we have experienced....great choices and very fresh vegetables.
The dinner is what caused the 3 stars. My husband had the ribs which were dry. My scallops were okay....honestly for $31 they were way over priced for their size. And I have never been charged at any supper club for sour cream! It was a nice drive especially back along the Bay, but we won't be back again.

It’s been decades since I’ve been to Club Chalet, but I won’t be waiting that long ever again. Took my parents and my teenager for dinner last night and we LOVED every bit. The staff from hostess to bartenders and servers were such a positive add to the atmosphere which is THE BEST you can imagine for Wisconsin Supper Club. For food, we tried a variety - perch, shrimp, frog legs. And don’t miss the baked French onion soup!

Side note: my kid is neurodivergent and basically doesn’t like places and only drinks milk. The bartender made him a special “ice cream drink” that was the highlight of his vacation! He kept telling me how much he loved our dinner, which almost never happens.

Are you Disabled or have a family member who is? Do you want or do you want them to be treated like an object and abused…. Then come eat at Club Chalet!!

I watched a Deaf family member get harassed, demeaned and treated like a dog . The wait staff and people in the kitchen are horrendous and should never work with people.

Telling customers to leave because YOU can’t handle customers who have disabilities is disgusting. Wait staff crying because a Deaf person is asking you to write back and forth on a paper with a pen is childishly immature.

Shame on you!!! Zero Stars!

Owner threatened our family. I can't wait for the local news to hone in on this restaurant for it's abusive and archaic responses to people with Disabilities... again, if you want to be treated like an object or an animal... eat here! Zero Stars!!

So very sorry about the initial 1 star review. I intend to give 5 stars initially phone was acting wonky and quite honestly i didnt think it posted. (I had.to restart my phone) But yes i did read that review on FB and came to give a positive review since i thought it was unfair. What an awesome experience! I sometimes have trouble hearing in large, crowded dining rooms, but our server was patient with me and explained the specials in a very nice & pleasant manner. The food was terrific. I had the salad bar and the tomahawk pork chop and am still thinking about how delicious they were. Can’t wait to go back!

Been eating at supper clubs all over northeast wi for years and we stopped going to all other supper clubs because in my opinion there isn’t a better one! The salad bar is clean and has everything, The bread is always warm, the soup is always bursting in flavor and no other place can come close to how succulent the steaks are!!! Enjoyed a lovely evening last night. The bar and wait staff really stood out to us….friendly, attentive and professional. A classic WI Supper Club! Order your food at the bar while you enjoy a drink! Great salad bar! We will come back just for that!!! The loaded baked potato was so yummy I forgot the rest of my meal! I held back on 5 stars for the food as both our soups and entrees were pretty bland. Could use more spice and/or flavor in those dishes. We will definitely return soon!

We stopped in on a Thursday night when we arrived it was very busy in the bar area but the bartender made sure to help everyone and even made a little small talk between drinks. The salad bar was very good and everyone loved the baked French onion soup being a supper club everyone went home with leftovers we also had some dessert ice cream drinks They offered more than I've seen anywhere and they were perfect. We had a wonderful time and would recommend going here for any occasion.

Sat immediately, the service was very good but slow, busy with many large tables. Good drinks, salad bar, and fresh bread. Add soup and the entree, and you'll be bringing home leftovers. My wife had the lobster with the tenderloin steak (8 oz each). I had a tenderloin. Both were done perfectly ( medium). Vaulted ceiling in dining room makes for noisy atmosphere. Very good experience.

We went to Club Chalet on a Friday night to celebrate my mother’s birthday. We were a table of 5 and had a great dinner. We were never asked if we wanted desert or an after dinner drink but were given the check. We then requested a round of drinks and she had to rerun the check. Not a problem. But we were halfway through drinks, relaxing and talking and were asked to leave the table to finish in the bar as they were trying to get more people seated. There were several empty tables around us in the dining room. The bar was still fairly busy with no place to sit for my 70 year old parents. I think this is a terrible practice and really turned me off from the entire experience. We ended up sitting and finishing at the table anyways, however I think after paying a few hundred for dinner we should be able to finish our meal together at the table without being asked to move.

We arrived at 4:04 and got number 17. A little over two hours later the server took our orders and we were seated about 10 or 15 minutes after that. The wait at the bar was probably the best part of our visit. Our server was not attentive to us at all. She never asked us how our food was - which was unfortunate since the shrimp scampi my wife ordered was bad. My tomahawk pork chop was good, but I feel like I should have gone with my first instinct and ordered the prime rib. When I paid our bill, the hostess did ask how our dinner was and told her about the shrimp scampi and she did apologize. We have been traveling the state checking out supper clubs in Ron’s two books. So far this has been our biggest disappointment.

Come early, they don't take reservations. The drinks are good but the bar fills up fast! Like elbows to bellybuttons fast! We were number 15, and somehow we're skipped over and ended up waiting almost 2 hours for a table. The waitress was super nice and attentive! Her 2nd job is also a nurse! Hats off to her, but who wants 2 jobs? Lol The wait for our food wasn't bad but it didn't come cooked to order. With all the things going on, we didn't even mention it to the staff (didn't want to wait longer). A very large desert selection proved to be so tasty! Can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu! Then the ice cream drinks! Oh my word! They have over 40 to choose from! Yes, 40! Order a few and try them out! Overall, it was a good dining experience! Hats off to them for the number of people served every day!

I have been coming here my whole life and it will always be one of my absolute favs! Went last Saturday night to celebrate Valentines, and it was packed with a wait time of an hour...totally understandable and more time for cocktails. We sat at the bar to wait and the two bartenders were rockin it...full bar, three deep. It was truly impressive how flawlessly they were handling it. Our server was attentive and kind as well. Food was divine and the salad bar fresh and clean. Thank you all for a truly fantastic night!

The fireplace and seasonal decor accentuate the naturally charming atmosphere. The salad bar is better than most, but not overly special. Walnut encrusted salmon: 4/10
Portion size was great, but unfortunately the salmon tasted off and was over cooked.
Italian spaghetti: 6/10
The sauce was flavorful, but also not reduced well; the bottom of the bowl was full of tomato water. The Italian sausage came in a full link and was the highlight of the dish.
Porterhouse steak: 9/10
Served at the desired doneness; very flavorful, tender, juicy. Good quality, excellent portion size.

If you like exorbitant wait times, this is your place.
We have been there probably once or twice a year for many years. In the last year or so, they have really gone downhill in our opinion.
Last visit, our party of 4 got our number (23) at 4:30.
Needless to say, we did not get seated until after 9pm, after being repeatedly lied to about why we weren't being seated.
I'm not going to write a book here, but this was the last straw for us here.
Sad to say, but we won't be back, and will never recommend this place to anyone.

Initially we went due to other reviews regarding the food and cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately our reservation was marked for 2 weeks from that evening (a thrs). After sitting for a half an hour and when the error was found, we were told we possibly could be squeezed in-in another 40+ minutes or so. Also, we were told the prime rib sandwich was already sold out, even though it was only 6:00 p.m. The soup and salad was $12.95 but an additional $6.95 if you wanted baked french onion. As a result we left. The atmosphere seemed too well lit, not as dark and cozy as I had hoped. The bartenders were extremely pleasant and regretful of our evening. Unsure if we will come back to give it another try.

What a fabulous experience!!! The old fashions were amazing. 1 bartender kept up with full bar & drink tickets!! Who doesn't love a salad bar???? They had all the right fixings on it! OK THE BREAD on the table is the BEST bread I have ever had at a restaurant. You don't eat the bread if you have a full meal coming & you ate off the salad bar but I tried a small piece ~ it was warm & had a nice light crunch. My steak was cooked perfect!!! Oh ya!!!! The Fall/Halloween decor was so cute ~ someone put ALOT of thought & time decorating!!!

A wonderful classic Wisconsin supper club. A large menu with a big salad bar. My wife had the tomahawk pork chop while I had the pork hock and beer cheese soup. Both meals done perfectly. Great brandy old fashions and they boast over 40 ice cream drinks. (The classic grasshoppers we’re great.)

Yep, it’s a supper club. You wait in the bar till they are ready for you. The food was good, the menu extensive and the salad bar full of all the goodies you want - you make that your meal! The only thing keeping this from a 5 star review is the bar. I was looking for a simple lemon drop martini or something similar. They didn’t have the ingredients or the know how. If you drink beer, wine, or a highball you won’t be disappointed.
The dining room is old Wisconsin chalet style and the bar room is 1960’s vintage paneling. It has electronic bar games etc. It’s a true WI experience.
