Today’s Lakeside dining: Coach’s on the lake, on Lake Denoon in Muskego. I think I would rename this to Coach’s very close to the lake. 😆 i’m pretty sure there was a house behind this restaurant. We were hoping for more of a lake feel but the water was pretty far away.

Tried the pan seared salmon, lasagna, and chicken Alfredo. Nothing too amazing. The salmon was probably the best of the three. Lasagna was 7/10. And Alfredo was 6/10. Lacking something. Service was friendly and she came back very often to check on us, but the food came out very slow. And then our three meals came out at two different times. Edit: felt very sick the next morning after eating the salmon dinner.

I asked for no lemon on my asparagus.
Drowning in lemon.
The salmon was so gray in the other side.
Waitress took forever, kept standing by podium doing nothing.
She gave us 2 free drinks for the next time.
It was even worse the 2nd time.
He. Was supposed to get beer batter fish. He got lightly breaded. His fish was over done, and his shrimp .
My fish was beer battered, but it was under done. Slummy on inside.
I asked for a long island iced tea. Well it only had the lemonade, bitters.
Was pure yellow.
Asked for another and all that was added was a shot of tequila.
We will never go here again, unless we hear that there is a new manager.

Service is consistently BAD. They are more interested in serving themselves than a customer. Kitchen and food is run by a young smart ass kid. Orders to go are NEVER complete and the food is not good. Usually overcooked or pizza is burned. Great location and could have so much potential. Fire the manager, her family, and the kitchen staff. This is the third time in about a year i ordered the fish fry for carryout. Everytime, the order is wrong. This time I called to make sure they could get the order correct. So instead if going above and beyond for two past errors, it was worse. I received fish and tartar and cold fries. I ordered fish, lemon, baked potato, sour cream, bread, butter and cole slaw. It is really too bad because we want them to be successful.

If you are Gluten Free I would highly recommend Coaches Gluten Free Pizza! I have had several Gluten Free pizza in different restaurants which I have not been satisfied with the GF crust. I saw Coach's has added GF pizza on their menu and gave it a try. The GF pizza did not disappoint! So good tasted no different than a regular pizza the sauce is outstanding and you choose your toppings! The price was around $5.00-$8.00 cheaper than most restaurants that I have ordered GF pizza who does not give you many topping choices! I will definitely be getting my GF pizza's here. Looking forward to trying the new GF hamburger bun as well! Also have to mention the great atmosphere friendly and speedy service! Thanks Coaches for making a great GF pizza and enjoyable date night with amazing service!

Terrible! The waitress got our order wrong, when the clam chowder came out it was ice cold and looked like milk. Baked fish was good, everything else was luke warm. Butter wouldn't even melt on the beans. What a shame! We rarely eat out and this was a disappointment!

Live music, great prices on drinks and food, great atmosphere, and the service was great. I went here on Saturday with family to watch some bands playing. The food we ordered (salmon and medallions) were awful. The salmon was way overcooked. The medallions taste like they were thawed out in a microwave and was overcooked to the point there was no color difference after it was cut. The soup we ordered was scouring hot and couldn't be consumed for nearly 10 minutes. The server clearly didn't want to be there and came by only a few times. We had to stop on the way home to go to the bathroom and have not felt well since we left.

My husband and I stopped in to grab a bite to eat and get a gift card for Christmas for a family member. It was karaoke night, so bar was semi- full. We went into dining area and waited about 10- 15 min and Nobody came to greet us or even acknowledge us( except karaoke woman). So we left and as we were leaving someone was asking us if we wanted to order...wanted a seat at bar..wanted...too little too late. It's sad because we used to go to the other location and loved the food. Now...we are done. Poor service this day and age when companies are struggling to survive.

It was a Friday night around 8:00 p.m. After we gave our waitress our drink order it was at least 20 minutes untill they came. My soup came before them.,and it was barely warm! I tried a drink special,and it was terrible! She offered to get me something different. I ordered a different drink, the tonic was flat or old in the gun. It was not fresh from bottle or gun.Then our food came It was good,but they ran out of pancakes,the table across from us got the last 2 we were told. Also no lemon or tartar served with the fish plates. My husband ordered expensive bourbon,,and a double,he got barely a single shot. He went to the bar for his next drink,to make sure it was a double. We gotcharged for 2 doubles.We have been eating at the 13th street Coaches for several years,including Thanksgiving! The wait staff is great,not standing around,service was good,and drinks served timely. Needless to say we will not be coming back to the Denoon Coaches anytime soon. And they need 2 bartenders,and hire one that has experience. I have never written a review,but we've spent alot of money over the years,this was a disasteroys dinner. We took most of it home. Sad,but a true experience.

If you go here, stick with pizza and chicken wings. We went outside of our usual tonight and tried the Friday menu, no one in the family liked their food. Very unfortunate. Fish and shrimp were tough and didn't taste good. My husband said you could get better fried chicken at Golden Chicken. The staff was nice, but don't recommend the Friday menu at all (they don't serve wings on Fridays either just as an FYI).

We went for a pizza tonight. I saw signs for broasted wings. We ordered drinks and I asked about wings, Waitress asked the kitchen and said we can order. We ordered wings, fries and pizza. The waitress returned to tell me I was going to be sad as there were no wings tonight. I was annoyed but just ordered a larger pizza. Our "double tall" drinks had no alcohol. We let the waitress know and she resolved for us. A lady came to discuss the wing situation and at that point I no longer cared to keep discussing. I said it was fine and hoped to just get through the meal. The pizza was a thin crust puddle of grease. We received the bill with the fries on the tab that we never received. We were comped the first round of lemonade. The cherry on top was that I was given a pink marker to sign the bill. Our last dime was spent here... such a waste of a restaurant on the lake.

Coach's failed miserably with our take out order of a large pizza. I ordered it an hour in advance, showed up at the time they said it would be ready. Shortly after checking in, I was told it would be 5-7 more minutes, Shortly afterwards, a girl came from the kitchen to tell me our order was messed up, actually they forgot to make the pizza. She offered to have it made and it would take 20 minutes. I checked back in 20 minutes, I was told they were cutting it up and it would be a few minutes longer. A third person checked again now 10 minutes later only to tell me they don't have a pizza, couldn't find my order and with no other option for my order. Big time fail Coach's, you need to work on your service level and recovery options for patrons if you want to stay in business.

We had a pizza and some the chicken dinner and a bowl of French onion soup. I think that she forgot to put our order in because our pizza took 45 minutes and then another five for the chicken. The Pizza was really good. The chicken was good but the breast was still a little raw so I ate the rest of the pieces and took the breast home. Will definitely be back for the pizza.

Meals ordered were missing sides. The young lady who brought out 3 of the 5 meals literally threw them at us as though she was angry. We noticed that she had done the same at another table. I have never seen a server ever do that. Our 2 other meals came after another table was served which they were seated at least 15 minutes after us. If I could rate our overall experience, it would be a zero. My fiancé and I went here for a date night on a Friday. This was our first date night in quite a while as we finally had a babysitter for our 1.5 year old; so as you can imagine, we were excited & looking forward to a delicious meal. The restaurant was normal-busy for a Friday night; nothing out of the ordinary.

We walked in and the hostess seated us immediately, but then it all went downhill. After at least 15 mins. our waitress came by to take our drink order. Add on another 10 mins. and our drinks hadn't arrived yet. When they finally did (after we had to get her attention because we had been forgotten about), the waitress said that the bar was out of glasses, so that was the reason for the hold up. How is a bar/restaurant out of glasses? Why couldn't you inform us of said hold up as that would have been the considerate thing to do?

We proceeded to order a cup of the Cajun soup, a side house salad, a perch fish fry with French fries and a cod fish fry with sour cream/chive fries. The soup and salad took 10 mins. to come out (from the kitchen helper) and when they did, neither came with utensils. Also the house salad had grated parmesan cheese on it? Weird. We were finally able to request utensils from a different waitress (as it had been 10+ mins since ours had checked in yet again) and she told us they were out of utensils and proceeded to bring us PLASTIC utensils. How is a restaurant out of utensils?

Soon after, an older lady (a prior manager who was INCREDIBLY nice), came over to check on us and was appalled by the fact that we were given plastic utensils. She was able to find some regular utensils and swapped them out. In our opinion, although she remained professional, it looked like she was completely embarrassed by the situation and the way that the restaurant was handling things.

Our fish fry dinners didn't come out until at least 45 mins after we ordered, so by then, we had been sitting at our table for over a hour. While the perch was excellent, the fries for both of our orders were AWFUL. It was almost like the kitchen forgot to change out the oil when deep frying multiple items? Absolutely disgusting. My fiancé noted that the cod was, "okay."

Upon viewing, you could see that other tables had been waiting quite some time for their dinner orders. Other tables were also using plastic cups to drink out of and the waitresses all looked frantic; some not even dressed as a waitress should be (hair messy & unprofessional clothes). I noticed that the table across from us had received a bread basket with lemons, rye bread and tarter sauce. I looked at my fiancé and said, "hey, we didn't receive a bread basket!" Super disappointing.

When the waitress came around with our check, we mentioned the missing bread basket to her and she said, "oh, sorry, they must have forgotten to bring it out earlier." By then, our blood was boiling. One excuse after another. Complete disorganization and lack of communication across the board.

We paid our $70 check (ugh) and left. When we got to our babysitters house, my fiancé told her, "it was the worst restaurant experience he's ever had." Mind you, he's 45 years old, so that has a lot to say.

Overall, not sure how to pinpoint the exact problem. Lack of waitresses? Zero management? Complete unpreparedness for a Friday crowd? No dish washer to wash glasses and utensils? Forgot to order cheddar cheese for a house salad? No one took accountability, that's for sure.

What I do know is that hopefully things turn around so other customers don't have the same negative experience we did. And as for us, we will not be returning.

PS. PLASTIC UTENSILS AND PLASTIC CUPS ARE UNACCEPTABLE.

We have dined here just a few times over the past years and always enjoyed our experiences. We were here on a busy Friday night and were seated promptly and served our drinks in a timely manner. Our fish fry and shrimp platter were large and very tasty, some of the best we've had in the area over the years. We've had burgers and sandwiches in the past and all were quality dishes. The atmosphere is loud with big T.V.s showing sports, a noisy bar in front, and some rock music cranked up enough to be irritating if you're trying to visit. The patrons all seem to be locals, as are we, but dressed way too casual to be out of the house. The thing that really clouded our experience was the appearance of the waitstaff. All were very friendly and efficient, but they looked like they just stepped off the farm. Worn out hoodies, beat up shoes, and jeans that looked like they just had a trip through the corn binder! We will certainly return for the good food and service, but hope the management takes note and tightens up the dress code!

Had an all-around great experience at Coach's on the Lake.

The atmosphere is very casual, open space with a wide variety of seating options. Although they were not very busy (State Fair weekend) I still made a reservation to insure we would have a low-top table for varying heights and ages of the members of our group.

Service was on point. Friendly and attentive from the server to the runners. Always asking if we need anything else when bringing items to the table. No hovering though.

The food is very tasty. Ordered at our table were the wings, cheese curds, French onion soup, broasted chicken, and the grilled chicken sandwich. All was enjoyed by those ordering - with exception to the soup. I don't know if they don't make it in the traditional style, shouldn't be calling it French onion, or it was just an off night. The person expected to see the trademark "cap" of browned cheese spilling over the top and down the sides of the crock, but instead receive a bowl of mostly broth with the cheese having sunk to the bottom. She was disappointed and didn't eat it. Rave reviews from the person who order the broasted chicken (LOT of food) and the one who ordered the wings and curds. Oh yea, the one who ordered the soup, also ordered the coconut shrimp and said it was very good.

For me, I had the House Salad with Parmesan Peppercorn, and the Mushroom Swiss Burger with Fries. The house salad is GINORMOUS. I only ate half so I would have room for my burger and fries. Even THAT was too much as I only ate 1/2 the burger and 1/2 the fries as well (had the salad for breakfast and the burger and fries for lunch the next day). I wanted fresh veggies and I guess I got them! The salad WAS very fresh, and the contents were chopped very small so you could get a bit of everything on your fork at once. The best way to have a salad. The burger is cooked to your liking, on a lightly toasted bun, and was a nice size - not small, but not an over the top huge thing you can't even get in your mouth. Oh and the fries. CRINKLE CUT! The best kind. I know, I know. It's a fried potato strip. There's just something about those crinkles that make them so much better.

One star is generous!! My breaded mushroom appetizer was FROZEN in the middle…We waited close to 2 and a half hours for pizzas for a table of 4. The pizzas came out so burnt we couldn’t even get them off the platter. Management took our food to compensate us, but now we left without eating more than half our dinner. Our food was great. The service was not! Stood waiting to get seated, waiting for for the waitress to take our order as she talked and talked to the other patrons. It wasn't as if she was taking orders or clearing tables. Asked for one diet soda and two waters. Got the almost flat soda and no waters. My husband got his soup by a kitchen helper and the waitress was sitting at a booth with one couple and then left them to go sit at a 4 top table where she planted herself for about 15 more minutes finally she got up and walked around and she finally looked in our direction so I waved at her and mouthed WATER which hit herself in the head and went to get it. Food came finally and the boasted chicken and potatoes were fantastic! This again was delivered by kitchen help again. Not a big deal really because it came hot and tasty however as patrons left there were dirty dishes everywhere and tables were not getting cleaned up and reset for the next customer. The waitress was by no means busy. Instead if someone came in she would find a clean table or have them wait while she cleaned the table they really wanted. For a Saturday night it was somewhat slow but any more and the waitress wouldn't be able to keep up. But our food and other plates that were brought to hungry people looked great and hot as steam came off of everything. Go try their great food but be prepare to wait on the service!

I'd give it a higher rating if we hadn't had to sit at our table a full half hour before anyone even noticed our table of 8. The restaurant was about half full and we definitely noticed we weren't regulars, who had multiple visits to their tables. Then, the Bluegill was served Beer Battered. With such a small, delicate filet that Bluegill is, I didn't even realize that you had to order a lighter coating to it. I have had Bluegill at more places than I can remember and have NEVER had to specially order a different coating on it. Usually Panko (or similar) is used or the fish gets absolutely lost in a huge amount of batter.

Can you leave no stars?! Terrible!!!! I’m easily pleased but this has been the worst place I’ve ever been to! Took over an hour to get wings and a burger. Both were cold. Didn’t ask how the burger should be cooked. Looked like McDonald’s. Im pretty sure they went to McDonalds for it….Wings were too hard to chew. Waited 25 min for server to ask for check. Never showed. Hostess just came up and took credit card with no idea of the bill. $70 dollars for wings a burger and two drinks…

First time there. Ordered Friday fish fry specials. We had the breaded cod. Nice and tender fish but the crusty part could have been a bit browner. Potato pancaked crispy and good. We also had the combo platter. Good too. Nice bar area. Stayed for after dinner drinks.

They have good food but it’s best to call before you go to make sure they kitchen is open. I live close and have been there a few time but the last 4 time I’ve tried to go, they’re website says they’re open but when you get there they tell you the kitchen is closed, even though your there well before the closing time listed on they’re website.

Delicious food and great service! Sat outside on a summer evening and enjoyed a beautiful view of lake Denoon and the boats going by. So peaceful. The Lombardo combo fish plate was a generous portion and very tasty. Homemade potato pancakes! Chicken parmesan very good. We got the garlic bread as an appetizer and we agree its the world's best! Definitely get it!!! Chloe was our server and was a delight. We will be back!

My "GO TO" fish fry place! Lots of food at a very reasonable price. Classic fish fry with either potato pancakes or french fries. Eat in the dining room or at the bar. I like to eat at bar with tables that hook onto the bar so it's easy to enjoy your dinner without spilling. Chris and Michelle are the bartenders, great service. They play music by Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. LOVE IT!

Please do not avoid this restaurant based on bad reviews. My husband had the cajun chowder and beer battered cod and I had the clam chowder and baked cod. Everything was hot and the service was great. After reading the reviews, I was expecting a horrible experience...but it is now my favorite Muskego restaurant. The food was amazing!

The dining area was mostly empty, which made me sad, because they truly did address issues from previous comments based on my experience tonight. Give this place the love it deserves!

Beautiful dinner at Coach's overlooking Lake Denoon. We sat in the new screened in patio on a warm, muggy August night with soft music in the background. The food was great and prices were reasonable.

Had a busy weekend called in 2 orders of breasted chicken because we heard it was good... when my friend and I walked in no one greeted us! We found our way to an exceptionally nice and very capable young man told him we needed the bill split because it was going two different places he rang us up without difficulty and told us it would be a few more minutes...Dana(Donna) went to the ladies room and I sat at the bar to wait Dana joined me a little bit later and I mentioned that no one and I mean NO ONE had asked if I wanted a drink or greeted me!! There were 3 people behind the bar! After a little more that 10 minutes Chris walked over and asked if we needed anything and I said no we’re just waiting for our chicken. Our dinners come out of the kitchen and are packed in one bag so we asked the young man if they could repack it for us he walked back to the kitchen and walked right out and gave us the exact same bag and said “he said just take it” now I’m irritated..so I start dividing out our food so Dana’s food is in one bag and mine is on its own I mistakenly thought we got two orders of mashed potatoes so when I got to Dana’s I told her to take the potatoes and I’ll call and get more. Little did I know they don’t practice good customer service at Coaches on the Lake because when I called I told the man what happened and he told me “I got all the mashed potatoes I was entitled to”. Since when did instant mashed potatoes become a commodity? If I would’ve known they were so priceless I ‘d have bought a box at the store a made myself a necklace!!

Honestly I understand their trying to create a supper club atmosphere, if that’s the case check out the local competition! I’m sure I Would have never been talked to or treated that way in Basses Bay Brew House! I was so flabbergasted that they wouldn’t just replace the potatoes or apologize for treating us like we were invisible I hung up! I’m not going to waste my time on someone who has a stale menu and no idea why they have no business!!!

Best wings I have had in a long time. I can tell they only use fresh xtra large jumbo chicken wings. Quality ingredients and excellent customer service makes for a winning experience at this place. Coaches is a great place to stop for drinks with friends or eat a meal with the whole family.

Fish Fry is usually very good, but portions getting smaller. You get less fish now, and half a piece of rye bread, we use to get a whole piece. Lol. Bartender forgot to take our food order, forgot cherries in old fashioneds, forgot to give us butter, ketchup, silverware. And they ran out of potato pancakes Friday. A restaurant should never run out of their special. Very disappointed in bartender, more interested in talking to his friends. Service very slow, prices high. Use to go there twice a month, won't any more....

We have been here several times and always have a problem with the slow service, this time was the last time. We placed an order at 5:45 to be picked up, we were told 45 minutes, no problem but when we arrived at 6:30 to pick up our food we were told it would be another 30 minutes because they got busy? I'm not sure what happens to your order when they get busy , our order doesn’t matter? We waited around another 45 min and still no food, could Coach's do us all a favor and just close their doors. This is the worst restaurant in the area. We will never be back

Went there for the first time on Friday night and won’t go back. Waited for an hour for our fish fry and was cold, and took forever to get a drink at the bar. Ordered a brandy old fashion and thought I was drinking a bottle of bitters! Never again!
