This place does not miss!

The truth behind it is Ive walked past this place 1000 times. I was never drawn in because i was told it was a sports bar and the named coliseum.. nothing against the name it just never pulled me in.

5 years after moving to fond du lac and they suddenly popped up on my DoorDash about a month ago. They don’t show up on my girlfriends so I don’t know if I have special privilege or what but I’m sure glad they do.

I’ve traveled all over the US for work and eat out constantly so I feel like I’m confident in my reviews in regards to food and I’ll tell you this…. Don’t pass up this place.

I can’t review the restaurant or the vibe but the food is incredible - even delivery (which is all I know)

Gyro: fresh sliced meat even at 10pm, the onions , tomatoes and sauce all fresh and delicious
Wings: hands down the best in fond du lac! We’ve tried multiple sauces and they’re all incredible. Even on delivery they’re always crispy and taste fresh. I can’t imagine how good they would be in the restaurant
Mozzarella sticks: they’re frozen and deep fried - still awesome tho - I absolutely love them. The marinara is great - also canned tho - you can taste it.
Onion rings - freshly battered I think and so crispy - the zesty sauce is nasty they give with it tho. Definitely Comes out of a plastic tub or squirt bottle. Terrible flavor on the sauce.
Pizza is amazing. Nothing more too say there.
If you're thinking about trying this place - do it you wont be disappointed!

Stopped in late evening for a bite and beer. Initially had high hopes but it didn't take long to change. Table service was slow and server didn't seem to know much about the menu and definitely wasn't familiar with the bar. I ordered a beer that was on tap and she said they didn't have that, I had to go over to the bar and point it out. At one point she came to check on us and I asked for another beer and she brought more packets of silverware. ???

Then someone in the game area evidently loaded up the jukebox and the music got nightclub loud, we couldn't even talk at the table it's was so loud. We finished and left for somewhere else.

Today I placed an order for takeout. I ordered 18 traditional wings, onion rings and tater skins for $50.02. The wings were horrible, yet again, completely dry and over cooked like we were eating Jerky! I haven't ordered from here in awhile because every time we do order wings they are always dry and over cooked. So needless to say I just spent $50 on onion rings and tater skins. I don't understand why your wings are always dry and over cooked every time I order no matter what day of the week it is. You guys charge $26.99 for 18 wings you think they would be good and worth the money. Nope! No more, never again will I ever order anything from here. This is the last time I waste my money!

Not satisfied at all with how this place handled my situation. I order 18 traditional wings for $27.99. I received wings that were breaded which the menu did not specify if they came breaded or naked nor was I asked what kind I wanted. I was told that they just default to giving me breaded if I didn't ask and also made me pay for the breaded ones along with the new naked ones that I had to order after getting ones I didn't want.

Not really good to make your customers pay for food that i didn't want especially when your menu doesn't specify that nor give me the option of what type of traditional wing style I want.

Not a place to eat at if you have to worry about what you get and then have to pay for it they have hidden rules set in place for items.

Ordered boneless wings. The lady said I have a choice of 3 sides of sauce.
I then assumed the wings were plain and they would come with the 3 sides of sauce that I chose.
The sauce wasn't on the side but covered on the wings. It wouldn't have been a big deal but my toddler wanted to eat them and now couldn't. When I called the lady said she took the order and didn't say sides of sauce. She literally argued with me on the phone.
What ever happened to the customer is always right?? How are you going to argue with the customer? Even if it was a misunderstanding, or maybe wrong choice of wording on her end, you should just apologize and offer a new order. It's not a $100 order, it was just a side of wings! Bad business move!

First time visiting the colosseum for dinner with my girlfriend the food was good. The server did not check on us after being served dinner we had not seen him before approximately 30 minutes prior to getting the bill. The food is great!! I have had the 1/2 naked curds, fried pickle chips, southwest rolls (YUM), taco salad, taco wrap, BBQ Mac & cheese and the bacon and ranch chicken wrap. The food is the reason I come back. Hence, the 5 stars.

My experience with the service is not so great. I have ordered pick-up 10+ times now since November 2023, when I moved in right across the street from them. When I pick up my orders, I go to the bar, and the bartender/bartenders assist me. Service is terrible outside of them taking my payment and giving me my food. No greetings, no smiles, and very small talk if they can help it. So usually, this doesn't bother me enough to write a review until this last visit.
*I have had maybe 2 positive interactions out of all the times I have ordered*

8/11/24 after 9 pm Sunday. I call in my order of 1/2 naked curds, fried pickle chips and southwest rolls.
* I got this virtual gift card that I can only use on Google Pay, so I ask if I can pay over the phone. The lady says no because of policy... I ordered the night before, and whoever took the order did that.* No big deal. It is fine because I can pay in person, so I go to pick up my food and go up to the counter and let them know I was there to pick up my order. It is not busy at all, I need to mention.

Lady with brown curly hair, I did not get a name, took my payment, and gave me my food, and that was it! And what I mean by that was it, no hello, no have a good night, no smile, no interactions what so ever which was odd because I was actually trying to talk to her. I had tried to tell her, and I quote, " The reason I asked over the phone if I could pay over the phone was because I ordered last night, and they took my payment that way." Google pay.. virtual gift cards....COMPLETELY ignored me. She made eye contact.
So she gave me my reciept, and as she walked away, i was trying to tell her that i wanted to leave a tip, but because the transaction went through, i was not able to. COMPLETELY ignored again. I didn't know why I was unable to leave a tip, I was kinda asking her. I even said hey I'm asking a question to her and another lady with dark, longer hair, and glasses who, at this point, were more or less in front of me." COMPLETELY ignored me. They did make eye contact. Again, I did not get names. I got a picture of the second lady but won't post here. I was absolutely shocked. The lady with the brown curly hair handed me my order, and I did not say thank you this time as I would normally have.

I am used to being treated not so customer friendly from here, which I should not feel to begin with, but on 8/11/23, it was that bad. I wrote on my receipt that was left on the bar bad service, and they never smile. I'm sure IF they even noticed they had a laugh, but honestly, I wanted to say a lot more. I don't expect a lot for customer service, I'm not one of those. A smile goes a long way, a hi, at the least. But you completely ignored me.

I do want to say thank you to the cooks ( THE FOOD IS GREAT) and the other servers and staff who do not represent the colosseum in the way that I experienced on this particular day.

Unfortunately, I myself will not call in for pick-ups or pick up my orders anymore. I will have my daughter instead, but I can assure you that she won't be as tolerant and patient as myself if she has the same experiences. I hope that this reaches someone who might take action to at least speak about how customer service should be to the employees that may not have the best skills that they so much need in this sort of job!

My family and I came to this restaurant, from out of town, only because we had two gifts cards. Our bill for 5 adults with drinks was pretty decent, and our gift cards would’ve cover more than half the amount. Conveniently the gift card machine wasn’t working?? The manager( I’m assuming) was the one to deliver this news to us in a very childish manner. I felt like I was being lied to by a very unconvincing high school girl. Had the delivery of that been more apologetic and genuine, I would probably not have been upset about it. But just goes to show the it only takes one lousy person to ruin what would have been a great experience. Not sure if we will even go back to “try” to use the gift cards.

P.S. Our server was great and this is not a reflection on her at all. She was friendly and had great communication and timing on everything. Thanks lady!

Nice size sports bar. Nice variety of menu items. We shared fried pickles before the meal. They were crispy and flavorful. I ordered a chicken quesadilla for my meal and had mushrooms added.....so good and I took over half home. My son has a BBQ Mac and cheese. Huge portion. Even my teenage boy took half home. He did need to add more BBQ sauce...but I am sure others would have liked the amount that was in there. My husband had a burger and said it was good. I would definitely go back.

My boyfriend and I visited for a date night since it is halfway between where we both live. The food was very good. We ordered the fried Pickles, I had the Chicken/Bacon mac n cheese and he had the gyro wrap. The food also arrived quickly which is good! However, our waiter Johnny did not seem to want anything to do with us. He checked in a couple times but those interactions were nothing but him practically running by the table. At one point he disappeared all together. We sat waiting for our bill for over an hour. Finally, another waitress who I am assuming was the diversity, equity and inclusion coordinator came by and gave us sympathy water along with our bill. It was stated that our waiter was 'busy' but the restaurant was not the least bit crowded and neither was the bar. I cannot help but think Johnny's lack of service was due to the fact that we are a gay couple. Overall, we had a great meal but the service left much to be desired.

The food was amazing,I’ve been going once a week cause I love the food and I got addicted to the southwest rolls,I have to admit that I don’t really like corn and there’s some in the southwest rolls and I didn’t taste them,the first time I took a bite,I had no idea what to expect cause I’ve never ate them before and then when I took a bite,it was bursting with so much flavor and when I received my bacon cheeseburger,I didn’t think the food could get any better than it already was and it was also delicious,so far out of all the food I have tried,it was cooked well and mouthwatering. Popped in randomly for a bite to eat. Delicious gyro wrap! The cocktail was a beachy delight, one of the tastiest concoctions I've had out in a while - grapefruit and elderflower with citrus and a tajin rim. The server was very bubbly, polite, quite pleasant to interact with.

They have good food and gyros when you get served... was served drinks. After that, more people came in, and there were 6 tables filled and we weren't served chips and salsa, but all the other tables were. More people came out to help and we were still ignored. They went on to take a tables order that was there after us. I don't usually walk out on places but the amount of time spent sitting and waiting was unacceptable.

Place is great. The sports on the TV gives it its sports bar feel, but the booths and tables makes it feel more like a family restaurant. The bartender was great and made me feel very welcome, and took my order quickly. The burger I had was nice and hot, and SO good, and the curds nice. Highly recommend if your on Main Street.

We have been home bound since our move to fond du lac and never took the time to explore our new home city … so tonight after a late movie my husband and I were starved and just knew we had missed all the good food spots due to them being closed! In high hopes I googled open restaurants in the area and this one popped up we decided to give it a shot. Let’s just say we are blown away at the excellent friendly service , the food was GREAT!
