Generally the food is spot on, ordered pizza for carry out, once home, began to enjoy pizza, only to find it was very over done & found a piece of a burnt wood under middle of large pizza (granted wood fire oven, but seriously?) .. ? Worst service I've ever had, I was here for an 2 hours and was only seen 3 times by the waitress, and a table that was seated after I ordered got their food and left before I received mine, also the waitress doesn't know how to write down a drink order because my sour brandy old fashion was brought to me sweet. We’ve been coming to Country Gardens for years, but lately, experiences haven’t been as good as they used to. Some of the wait staff is rude, and will charge you for things you didn’t know they’d charge you for. For instance, we had salad bar and a pizza. We used our extra ranch from the salad bar to dip with our pizza, and the waitress charged us for extra ranch. seriously!? It would have been thrown away otherwise. Not to mention, Country Gardens raised prices again on top of an already pricy menu. Yes, the food is usually good, but not that over the top—this is Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin—know your customers. Most people can’t afford it.

Made reservations for 5:30. Seafood being served at 5 per advertisment. Arrived early and seated. Unable to get seafood platter and other basic seafood. Was able to get skewers which was 14-15 shrimp, maybe 1.5 pieces of corn cut to 4 small pieces and maybe 2 hotdog type meat cut in 4 pieces. Good but costs $29.00. (2 skewers). Ordered crab legs as listed for additional price. Waited over 1 hour +. Waitress very sympathetic and managed to get us a 10% discount for the wait. The steak my husband ordered was cold as well as the au ju. They informed us that they ran out of crab legs when they delivered our meal. Also out of garlic potatoes by 5:30. Talked to another customer and they had 5:00 reservations and they were not able to get much choice in their selection of seafood either.

This our 4th time here we drive all the way from. Sparta. Bartender didn't acknowledge us other than asking what we want. Stood at end talking to friends not a hi, not a thank you... spent time talking about going to the dells and her kid throwing up. Needless to say it was so gross we got what's in the photo to go. This was my second time here since the new owners took over. We were a group of 4 and there was 5 others in the bar. Bartender acted like she didn’t want us there, took over 10 minutes just to get 3 sodas. Food order was placed all at the same time but I was almost finished with mine before she came back and asked if we had gotten our other food yet. First of all, the booking site for getting a room is not user friendly at all. So when we got there it took forever for us to get a room becuz there was 5 people at the bar and the bartender was slow mixing 2 mix drinks. So we were asked if we book on line i said no. So the bartender asked us to go on line to book our room on our phone. There is no internet available in the bar or outside. There's
No microwave in the room, the food we ordered wasn't even warm. The tv was stuck on one channel the girl working at the bar couldn't even get it to work in any of the rooms. They talked about moving us to another room but they couldnt get that tv to work none of the rooms.The mattresses where broke down and hard to sleep on. It just wasn't a good experience I have stayed here several times when I have came back home to visit I guess I will have to find somewhere new to go to for I paid for a service and am not happy with it at all.

I’m reviewing the restaurant. I’ve never stayed in their hotel. This restaurant has a nice salad bar where everything is nicely chilled and fresh. There’s also warm soup and cheese spread! The menu has a lot of choices. I noticed many tables had ordered pizza. It looked delicious. We ordered steaks and burgers and everything was tasty. I was especially pleased that I could get a 6 oz steak as a few of us are light eaters and steak under $17 at a restaurant is a rarity. I always order rare and this places has nailed it the 4-5 times I’ve been here. Service is efficient and friendly. The only downside is that I find their main seating area very poorly lit. Definitely great food if you’re looking for a nice dinner.

I used my bank card to buy a small pizza there on July 14. I noticed a couple days later when the transaction went through that someone added on an extra $10 tip. I called the manager right away, and she said she would look into it and credit it back within seven to ten days. She never did. I called twice since then and left her messages, but she has not returned my calls. I found the owner's number and called his cell phone. He said he would check into it and call me back the next day. He never did, and I have left him two messages on his cell phone since. He has never returned my call again. They are unethical! Watch out if you use a card!

We had a wonderful experience at Country Gardens while visiting town for a wedding. Check in and check out are straightforward, expectations and instructions were clearly posted, the room was clean and included a microwave and mini fridge. I have never in my 80 years tried to sleep, on the worst mattress ever. Talked to the lying manager, and she said no one ever complained. She tried to tell me by saying they just replaced all the mattresses. Do not put your money down until you check out the beds. The plus side surprisingly the food was excellent. I even wanted her to come to the room and see for herself she would not do it. She would not even give me a break on price and said they were booked up and could not give me a different room. She needs to be fired. (Room 9) bed second one in.

We set out for an adventure tonight. We knew we wanted a fish fry, and we wanted to go somewhere we hadn't eaten at before, together. We chose Country Gardens in soldiers grove. VERY glad we did. The salad bar at this"Supper Club" inspired eatery was second to none, with a wide variety of choices including a cheeseburger chowder soup. Cheese spreads with crackers AND croutoned large pieces of bread. The baked fish with butter had the most unique and surprising array of spices that worked SO well. Two thumbs up.

The rooms although a bit small, are clean and comfortable. Staff even has a complimentary laundry bag for you to store your dirty clothes in for your trip.
The food in the restaurant is very good. You need to try their pizza! The staff is friendly and helpful. However if you are staying at the Motel, you need to check in before 9 PM because that's when the restaurant closes and there isn't any other way to check in.
Overall, 10/10 would stay again if I'm in the area.

Pleasant. Not fancy. Perfectly clean, well cared for, well built. Small room but that was all I needed. I have paid far more for terrible rooms.
Firm bed. Quite enough. I could hear cars on the nearby road but only when I was awake. This is a quiet area with not a lot of night traffic.
The bar was pleasant, the staff very friendly. I enjoyed a couple of beers, but didn't have any food.
I definitely plan to return here next time I visit the Kickapoo valley.

Went here for lunch and had the bacon cheeseburger. It was delicious and a healthy 1/2 lb portion. Also went for drinks after work and had a good time. Bartenders were attentive and the atmosphere was bright with a log cabin type theme. This is very much a local hangout so everyone finds someone to strike up a conversation with.

The pizza here really was great - as we expected from the reviews. What I did not see coming was the local beer, "Driftless Lager," one of the best beers I've ever had. What a nice surprise! We did not spend the night as previous reviews about noise and bikers sort of scared us off, but it would have been fine, actually. ||In any case, be sure to buy some Driftless beer to take home, as I wish we had!

2nd stop of our just see where the road by takes us. Although smaller than the average Hotel/Motel, very big in every way possible. Motorcycle took us almost 400 miles to this spot which I highly recommend to everybody. Staff was great friendly knowledgeable of area and any info we inquired about. Clean rooms with everything working properly and need extra pillows without a fuss this is your place. Down stairs was the best food in the lounge you could every ask for after a long day or short day. Tenderloin pork chops baked potato and soup or salad bar was perfection at reasonable price and a smile with every meal. It was great

We were traveling through the area and wood fired pizza sounded good for dinner. It was only four o'clock and the oven is not ready before 5 o'clock. We decided to stay and have the potato skins appetizer. We were not disappointed. They were barely hollowed out and had plenty of potato left. They were smothered in two kinds of cheese, bacon, and sour cream. Being baked to perfection it was delicious. I only hoped The Works pizza we ordered would be comparable.
The pizzas came out hot and large, mounded with toppings. I almost wept upon my first bite. I have never had such good pizza in Wisconsin. The crust, a work of art, was thin and sturdy enough to sustain the weight of the plentiful toppings. Each ingredient was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked.
Carla, our waitress, who is always there by her account, was a delightful hostess. She took the time to answer our questions and offered her opinion when requested.
Do not hesitate to visit Country Gardens and order one of their amazing pizzas. You will be glad you did.
