One of my favorite places. Food is great. They have one of the biggest salad bars around. This is a great supper club. From Friday fish fry, Saturday steaks, weekday specials , it's all great. Country Heights never disappoints. Highly highly recommend

1.5 Stars – Where Flavor Goes to Die (But the Wait Staff Was Lovely)

Let me paint you a picture:
Country Heights Supper Club & Motor Inn - because nothing says “fine dining” like pairing your meal with the vague smell of motel carpet and existential dread.

We roll up to this place with high hopes. Sure, the building looked like it moonlights as a haunted VFW hall, but hey…some of the best food comes out of spots like this. Hole-in-the-wall charm, right? WRONG. The only hole was the one it burned in my wallet.

We walk in. There are three entrances. Bold move. We, of course, pick the wrong one, because this place is less restaurant and more escape room. We eventually get seated thanks to a kind soul who probably sensed we were lost and hungry. Wait staff? Awesome. Polite, friendly, helpful, the MVPs of the evening. Give them a raise or at least an edible meal.

Let’s talk food.
We came for the legendary 24oz prime rib that only graces the menu on Fridays and Saturdays. Expectations? Sky high. What we got? An overcooked tragedy served with all the enthusiasm of a cold shoulder. Flavorless. Lukewarm. Chewier than my childhood trauma. And if you want onions and mushrooms on top? That’ll be $3 each for the privilege of some raw onion slices and what I’m 90% sure were canned mushrooms rinsed in Palmolive.

But wait, it gets sadder.

The salad bar.
Imagine a small folding table with a few scoops of sadness on ice. Grocery store salad mix (hello, Dole), pasta salad that tasted like loneliness, and dinner rolls that could double as hockey pucks. Cold butter? Check. Croutons? So dense I considered building a bunker out of them. 2.5/10, and that’s me being generous because I didn’t get food poisoning.

The combo appetizer.
Fried sampler platter of frozen-store-bought-everything. Mozzarella sticks, onion rings, probably a chicken nugget in there somewhere, all of it straight out of a Sysco box and into a fryer. If I wanted carnival food, I’d go lose at skee-ball and earn it.

Final thoughts.
We boxed up the prime rib with the same solemn energy people reserve for left-behind puppies and said, “We’ll fix this at home.” And we will. Because this meal? This wasn’t it.

The whole experience was like being promised a steakhouse and being handed a microwave dinner in a bingo hall. Again, the wait staff? Stellar. But the food? It phoned it in from the freezer aisle and charged us fine-dining prices for the call.

We used to really enjoy our dining experience here, which has dwindled down from half a dozen times a year to once a year. I was disappointed when my husband chose Country Heights over the Morocco. His cod was over cooked, had a greasy appearance. I had had ham steak, which looked like the shrink wrapped fare you can purchase at any grocery store. Once I cut into, it had the appearance of a canned ham. Half of it went uneaten, due to all the fat running throughout it. The pineapple slices were not grilled, but at least not cold. The salad bar was nice, as usual, but it no longer makes up for a bad entree when you’re paying premium price for the entree. We had a small table against the wall, and there was food speckled on the wall next to my shoulder. The bathrooms are terribly outdated, most of the chairs at the bar are in bad shape as well. The wait staff, as usual, were exceptional. I told my husband I never want to go back. The Morocco is cleaner, has better quality food, which you pay far less for than at Country Heights, the atmosphere is much nicer as well. Sorry Country Heights—it’s starting to show that you put no profits back into the business…your food has become far too over priced for the sub par quality fare you serve.

Really wanted to like Country Heights Supper Club. A couple of people recommended this restaurant but said they have not dined there in a couple years. Upon entering the restaurant there was a distinct oder that was not pleasant. The salad bar is a nice touch and the server was friendly and prompt. The Filet Mignon that I ordered had absolutely zero seasoning of any kind. The twice baked potato tasted like it was a couple of days old. It was not good at all. The Cosmo tasted like there was barely any alcohol in it. Maybe we were there on a off day.

I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered seafood scampi, which cost $32. The seafood was all mixed together and served in a bowl swimming in butter.
It was very unappealing.
The shrimp was overcooked, and the rest of the seafood was a tasteless mess.
My brother ordered fried alligator, which cost $36. It looked like alligator chunks taken out of the freezer and tossed in the fryer for a couple of minutes too long.
The tarter and cocktail sauces were served in plastic cups like you get at a fast food place.
The salad bar was typical.
The cake was on a large jelly roll pan with most of the cake already gone, and the place just opened.
The carpet around the salad bar could use a good cleaning.
I expected more from a country club restaurant.
Please teach your cooks
how to plate food and how to properly cook seafood.

I wanted to go back for their Tuesday AYCE broiled shrimp special. I had a double portion, very good. I also had a lettuce salad, two bowls of an excellent beef noodle soup and some perfectly steamed, steamed vegetables. I highly recommend the quality of every thing and their fine service👍

Great place to have cocktails at the bar and then go to a table and eat. The service was amazing. It was pretty busy when we were there bit it never seemed crowded. And even though it was busy, our server never missed a chance to see if we needed anything and was always on top of clearing things from our table. She was incredibly nice and did her job well. The bartender was welcoming. He asked if it was out first time there and we said yes so he made conversation with us and just welcomed us. The prices were very fair. We will definitely be coming back. I have also already recommended this place to a few people.

My NY strip (special this night) was 1/3 fat that I had to cut off. Server made aware but did not remedy. Steak had grill marks but was clearly cooked on flat skillet, not over a flame. Hashbrowns were on a tiny saucer and were falling off the plate onto the table. Salad bar had no peas, no eggs, no beets, no carrots, no broccoli, no cauliflower but had plenty of green and black olives and jalapeños. Server told us apps were Sysco, so no hand dipped onion rings or cheese curds, or anything not from a box. Chicken soup was 95% broth as I had to swirl serving spoon 4 times to see any noodles, veggies or chicken in it. Bill came to $71 for broasted chicken, 2/3 NY strip, cheese curds, 1 coke and 1 water. The carpet was filthy.
We won't be back.
Very disappointed and NOT like I remember when they first opened.

It's not often that I get jealous of the chicken dish while eating my steak but that chicken cordon Bleu was out of this world! My ribeye was good too, we liked the twice baked potato option and the salad bar. Maybe a little disappointed by the brandy old fashioned.

A great waitress won’t help you feel good about this place. A Hostess that doesn’t smile or act welcoming sets the tone for the bland and tasteless salad bar and food you’ll be served. A Vacation notice in the window should’ve reminded us they’re getting rid of everything they can before they shut down for a week. Pick any Supper Club nearby, because they seem to care here.

Came on a Wednesday for the Ribeye special but now they have chicken and ribs.
Salad bar with roll and cheese spread crackers was good. Chicken noodles soup was a but bland.
Chicken and Ribs were awesome. Ribs fell off the bone! Chicken was moist- opt for a white and dark mix.
We finished with a grasshopper and it was a perfect amount meal.

A traditional Wisconsin supper club with a salad bar, walked in , waited for about 10-15 mins at the podium as the lady (gray hair) there were several ….she ignored us, talking to others and answering the phone as if we were not there. She seemed a bit aggravated when I finally spoke up and said a "a table for 3 please" Our waitress was very pleasant. The food was just ok, small portions for the price, the soup was like warm water, salads from the grocery story, pea salad had mushy bacon bits in it, however the best tasting was the broasted chicken.

Older Wisconsin Supper Club with good food. The restaurant was big, we got sat right away on a Friday night. The salad bar was included with all dinners and had the soup included which was a nice change! Everything you would see on a traditional salad bar, the dressings were very good. We had ribs, deep fried shrimp, and broasted chicken dinners. The food was very hot and good portions! Ribs were sauced and had a different smoke taste we both enjoyed, deep fried shrimp was lightly breaded and very large, and the broasted chicken was good but greasy. The twice baked potato was good, french fries were average crinkle cut, and old fashions were delicious! Our waitress was very nice as well! The prices seemed a little pricier for the setting but overall good experience.

We we're impressed! Didn't know about this place, but the locals do, should have called for reservations!! Still a good plan in 2022, Friday night fish during Lent it is packed, Pike -- all you can eat was really good!! Also, prime rib Friday special, great options! Good seafood selections, with Friday special. They have daily specials, so if you have a favorite, hit that day!! Was very busy that Friday evening, even bar was packed, but enjoyed a drink while waiting. Standard salad bar selections- fresh!! No room for dessert for us, next time! Served my husband raw chicken and then still charged him 10 dollars for his salad bar (he ate one salad). All of our fried menu items were not cooked. Our onion rings were still dough and my son's chicken was still dough in middle. Paid 100 to leave feeling sick. We will not be coming back.

Had the 2pc cod, large, white, perfectly done! Dinner companion had the all you can eat pike and said it was excellent as well. 4 out of 5, only because lettuce was not fresh. Salad bar had numerous pasta salads that were good. The little browie thing with frosting was yummy. So glad a friend suggested this out-of-the-way place, will be back.

Old Fashions were okay, but $7 each? We were hoping for a better salad bar with fresh lettuce, homemade items, fresh rolls, and hot soup. Was the first visit and we went in and waited to be seated. Had to ask the lady at the end of the bar who was too busy sorting receipts. The food was good and the wait staff was also good. Never bern to a Supper Club before , being from Michigan. Gotta say, food, service, and atmosphere was great! I ordered the cheese burger basket, expecting a frozen patty. Absolutely not! Fresh, good quality ground beef cooked perfectly, medium well, on a flame grill. Perfect! All the tables were set very nicely, service was welcoming and friendly. If you find yourself in this part of Wisconsin, check this place out. They even have a bar! Definitely worth checking out.
