We love this place!! We stop here often for breakfast, brunch and lunch and have introduced this place to our adult kids who also love it! Service is outstanding! Friendly, funny, and super attentive! I can't eat breakfast anymore without having a little fresh green salad! Super spacious and clean! And if you do have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, there's plenty of little shops in the near vicinity to pass the time, and they'll text you when your table is ready. I had the homemade corn beef hash with a scrambled egg. The corn beef was tender had good flavors. I thought it had been cooked with too much oil. The scrambled eggs was slimy. Not under cooked but cooked with too much oil. They served a bacon dressing salad as a side. It was a good flavor profile but I my opinion it was too early in the day for salad and savory. I prefer a sweet profile breakfast.

This is an AMAZING cafe! We went for coffee and it was delicious! We had an iced white chocolate mocha and a s’mores latte and both were good. The service was great! They were very friendly. They have indoor seating for eating food, a bar, and outdoor seating in the courtyard. The outdoor seating in the courtyard is AMAZING. The food smelled fantastic inside, and there were many people eating breakfast when we were there. We would definitely recommend this cafe to you! It is not really a cafe for working (like on a computer). It seems like the indoor seating was more for people eating food and not just ordering coffee like we were. We will come back though!

Went there for breakfast with my wife and 13yo. Everything we ordered was delicious, best omelet around. They even had gluten free options for my wife who ordered a cinnamon muffin to go and was kind enough to share and we both agreed, it was so good. After hearing so many positive recommendations, I tried Courtyard Cafe and it lives up to the hype. Tucked away from the Wisconsin Dells hustle, this place is a true hidden gem with a beautiful, quiet courtyard in the back a perfect oasis to escape the crowds. I ordered the Turkey Pesto Panini. The bread was perfectly toasted, the turkey was high-quality, and the ingredients were clearly fresh. It came with a side of rich, creamy homemade tomato soup. The latte was expertly made, far better than typical chain coffee. Service was welcoming and efficient, and it’s clear the staff takes pride in their work. It’s easy to see why people rave about this spot; it offers a peaceful atmosphere and delicious, well-prepared food. I highly recommend stopping here, whether you're a local or a visitor. Courtyard Café is in a charming downtown Wisconsin Dells location, perfect for a casual breakfast stop. The menu offers classic breakfast items—we had omelets, pancakes, and granola with yogurt. We appreciated being able to substitute a few items to make things gluten-free or with egg whites. The omelets came with a side salad and bread, and we were also able to swap in fruit on the side.

A couple of things to note: water is only brought if you ask, and the check comes before you request it. The jam, butter, and syrup are the typical packaged diner versions, and the coffee is just okay—not great, but not bad either. That said, the server was attentive and polite, which made for a pleasant experience overall.

We’d recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area, but it’s probably more of a “go once” kind of place than a regular spot.

We stopped in for brunch today with 3 adults and 2 little kiddos. We were seated quickly and didn't have to ask for a high chair or booster seat as they were already on top of it. We visited twice during our stay in the Dells and it’s truly a wonderful restaurant. It’s clean and the decor is so cute. The owner, Nicki, is sweet and very observant. We had the same waitress, Liz, both times and she was funny and very attentive. She recommended the meat lovers skillet and it was fantastic! We loved the small salad with the hot bacon and onion dressing that comes with the meal! I was really looking forward to dining here, especially after reading so many great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite of what I expected.

When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged — I just stood there awkwardly until I finally added our name to the waitlist. That set the tone for the visit.

Our server, Heather, was friendly enough but recommended a wrap that ended up being incredibly disappointing. It was supposed to be grilled chicken, but it tasted boiled and bland — absolutely no seasoning or flavor. It honestly might’ve been the worst wrap I’ve ever had.

My son’s pancake was another letdown. It came topped with black residue from the cast iron, but the grease from it soaked into the pancake, making it soggy and unappetizing. The pancake itself tasted nothing like it was made fresh or from scratch — definitely not the homemade quality I expected. We love breakfast as a family, but this was just… sad.

The menu might be geared toward a “healthier” style, which I respect, but healthy doesn’t have to mean flavorless or underwhelming. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, misled by the reviews, and like I wasted money.

I’m disappointed because we spent over $40 for two people and I was charged for a refill of plain cold coffee. The cost per glass was $5.50 and with the food we purchased I wouldn’t have expected to be charged for the second glass. And the glass was about 10 ounces. This place was a great find! Being from the south, I never order biscuits and gravy anywhere in the North or Midwest. Stopped in for lunch, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I got the crispy chicken and bacon sandwich (you can get it grilled or as a wrap apparently) and it was a decent chicken sandwich. We normally eat in baraboo outside of Mac's, but now maybe we'll have a decent place to stop up here.

It was me, my husband and our 2 toddlers. My kids were restless & would not sit and be have. My server , I do believe named Tiffany (could be wrong) went out of her way to make my kids happy and for all of us to be able to enjoy our time there.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Dells!

We absolutely love Courtyard Café! It’s perfectly located right on the main strip, so it’s easy to park and explore the shops before or after your meal. The café itself is super cute, clean, and welcoming. You can tell a lot of thought and care goes into everything—from the decor to the menu.

One of the biggest highlights for our family is the number of gluten- and dairy-free options. Our sons were recently put on a gluten-free diet, and finding a place like this was huge for us. We learned from our waitress that the owner is gluten- and dairy-free herself, so the menu reflects that—tons of delicious options without compromising taste.

We first came here back in November and made it a priority to return during our July trip. The breakfast nachos are a family favorite, but honestly, everything we’ve tried has been great. They offer both breakfast and lunch, plus coffee, lattes, and even an ice cream bar for dessert.

Highly recommend if you’re in the Dells—especially if you’re looking for allergy-friendly food that doesn’t feel like a compromise!

My wife and I came here on our first trip to the Dells and the food was incredible. Stopped here with my family for breakfast and it was a great experience. The service was top notch, my eldest daughter is diabetic and the staff were so kind and accommodating, helping to make sure we had the right weight for items so we can make sure she was able to eat what she wanted. Were still new to her diabetic journey and places like this are relief, knowing we can safely feed our daughter. The food was terrific especially the breakfast nachos 😋 Thanks ladies for the great service

The food was fine. I ordered a make your own breakfast sandwich and asked for it without meat, and told the waitress that I was a vegetarian. I asked if I could have veggies on it instead and the waitress provided no customer service and told me that was impossible. Then when she brought out my food she brought a salad with bacon on it even though I had already stated that I didn't eat meat, and I had to ask for it to be changed. Again there was a complete lack of customer service. When she brought out the bill, she stared at me and the payment machine, watching how much I was tipping, which made me uncomfortable.

the environment is a little awkward, but not that bad. the portions of food are very small and to make up for that a small lettuce salad is added on the side, haven’t seen anyone touch it. the drinks are also 80% ice - which makes buying an almost $7 coffee outrageous. (prices are also not marked on the drink menu)

The wife and I had a great lunch of beautifully crafted salads that were quite filling (a chicken cesear that was overflowing with chicken, and a loaded cobb with a variety of dressing options). The drinks are wonderfully flavored drinks with room to add more if so desired. A great comfortable atmoshpere to recoup from the hustle and bustle of the Dells.

We came here on vacation, and hands down, this was the best food we had all week! The kids loved everything on the menu — they were even stealing bites of what we ordered because it was that good. The waitress and staff were a breath of fresh air, beyond kind and welcoming. The prices were more than fair, and the food was absolutely amazing. 10/10 — highly recommend!

Love the food, atmosphere,and poilte people. My wife always gets the corned beef hash, and we are crazy for the house salad. It's the best salad we've ever tasted. We are addicted... This might be our new regular breakfast place. It's our 3rd visit

I can’t decide which was more amazing the food or the hospitality. We decided to try this place as it had great reviews and the stars don’t do it justice it should have a 5 star rating. Staff was very friendly, especially with my daughter. Very family oriented place. The biscuits and gravy skillet was 100/10 so delicious and fresh.

Wonderful staff, they were funny and joked with us a few times, wait time was very fast. the food was great, pancakes were light and fluffy, sausages were very juicy and flavorful, I would say the eggs were kind of bland but all around a great atmosphere and a great place!

We travel a lot. This is easily the best breakfast in the Dells and one of the best in the state i promise you that. Fresh tasting, not greasy, great coffee, amazing service. Not even going to think about going somewhere else for breakfast in the Dells now that we have been here. The staff take great pride in what they do and it shows. Look forward to seeing you again.

Delicious homemade food. I had the corned beef hash, my son had the biscuits and gravy skillet, my daughter had chocolate chip pancakes and my husband had the ham and eggs. I got sourdough bread and it was good too. I got a pineapple mimosa and my husband got the habanero bloody mary. Everything was delicious and the people were very nice and friendly. We'll definitely be back.

We go to the Dells quite a bit, but this was the first time we tried the Courtyard Cafe. The food was great, along with the specialty coffees. The service and atmosphere were great as well. Everyone working there was super friendly and helpful. We're definitely headed back next time we're there!
