So sorry. I hate having to give a bad review but after spending over $50 for food we couldn't eat...and we read such great reviews.
Possibly an off day...I really hope so. We ordered the onion rings, perch, and the reuben. First the service was verrryy slow, food was luke warm at best, husband's baked beans were cold. Reubens are near the top of my fav sandwich list. This one was cold, just some meat with sauerkraut drowning in dressing with cold cheese on cold bread...AWFUL! Our onion ring appetizer arrived AFTER we pushed aside the food, and they were luke warm, as if they had been forgotten( ?) We were given some vague explanation, but oh well.
The waitress didn't put a smile on her face until it was time to pay and tip. Repeat it could have been an off day cause the food was off-ful. We left very disappointed -- and still hungry.

Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations
We arrived excited to watch the Brewers in the playoffs and were looking forward to enjoying the game on the patio. Unfortunately, we were told there was no guarantee the TVs would be turned on outside, so we reluctantly chose to dine indoors.
After spending over $110 inside and receiving excellent service from our server (the one bright spot of the evening), we noticed the TVs outside had been turned on. We asked to move to the patio and planned to continue eating and drinking while watching the game.
However, once outside, the experience took a turn. We were completely ignored by the staff, and no one came by to offer service. When we tried to explain that we were still planning to order more food and drinks, the owner or manager approached us and abruptly told us we had to order food to sit there—something we were already planning to do. He dropped menus in front of us and said, “It is what it is,” in a noticeably aggressive tone.
The lack of professionalism and courtesy was shocking. We had every intention of spending significantly more and continuing to enjoy our night, but the rude behavior from management made it clear our business wasn’t appreciated.

We were rushed out after eating our appetizers. We were going to order more drinks and more food, but apparently our money wasn’t good enough. We didn’t do anything wrong, and tipped our server well. We were 3 couples just enjoying the day by stopping by different establishments for a drink in Door County. We walked into Coyote Roadhouse and the bartender didn't greet us at all. She was asked a question about a beer and there's where it started. She wasn't friendly, but very rude. She pretty much acted like she didn't want us in there while serving us. The person who bought the drinks said they weren't leaving her (bartender) a tip for the way we were treated. They paid the bill with a credit card. As we were walking outside to sit down, I saw the bartender pick up the payment receipt and say pretty loud, No Tip, Thanks! She didn't deserve a tip for how we were treated. She shouldn't be working there for how we were treated!

My wife and I went to this place based on good Facebook reviews. When we pulled up we noticed a handful of open outdoor tables that were open and she said she would like to sit outside. The hostess greeted us and immediately took us inside, set the menus down, and returned to the deck without saying a word. It was very warm inside, probably 80 degrees or more on a 70 degree day. When the waitress took our drink order my wife asked if we could get a table outside in which she responded with a rude “no, there are no available tables outside”. Right after we ordered we got a call with a family emergency in which we had to leave. I was able to stop the waitress within 30 seconds after taking our order and let her know we had to leave and to please cancel our order and we would pay for our drinks. This seemed to make her very angry for some reason and she refused to cancel our order saying it was already cooking (highly doubtful in 30 seconds). I asked her to check and she again responded angrily stating that we would just have to wait until it was done and she could not cancel the order. After some more back and fourth she eventually went back and cancelled the order, came back, and literally threw the tab on the table.
I will never be coming back to this restaurant/ bar due to the rude staff.

Went for lunch a few weeks back because a local told me the food was great. My wife, son and I were greated. Then waited 20 minutes for someone to atleast come and ask if we wanted a drink. The entire time there were 2 waiters walking around doing absolutely nothing. They looked our way a few times but never came over. We finally left and went to pc junction. Had drinks within minutes and food in 15 minutes of arriving. Coyote should be embarrassed and looking for new waiters. We wont be back.

My wife ordered the hamburger. She sent it back because it was raw. When we told the waitress she grabbed it and walked away. We got it back a few mins later and it was still pink. My wife asked for well done. Im pretty sure they just microwaved it.

The cheese curds were cold. Mashed potatoes were cold. Fish was cold. Cole slaw was warm. Second round of all the fish you can eat fish, took forever.

Pros: The atmosphere is nice. The place is clean.

We got our food relatively fast for a weekend night. There was a reason for that.

People must be reacting to some viral review or something because this was the most average bar food I’ve had in a long time. Had to wait for a table despite there being no one there and the hostess was frantic for no reason despite us all waiting in silence.

Out of the 8-9 burgers I’ve had in DC this year, it’s about #7 and since I don’t drink and there’s literally no cell service - even for Door County - there isn’t much positive I can say. I’m shocked at how many good reviews this place has, but maybe if I was hammered it’d seem better.

I had the loaded Chilli, that was fantastic. Quarter had the gluten bun and the road runner chicken sandwich. She loved it. Wife had the quesadillas, bland and only OK. soon for the special half real round and 3 shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes. Potatoes and ribs were awesome and on point. The shrimp were ok.

My recent visit to Coyote Roadhouse in Egg Harbor, WI, was a bit disappointing. We were waited 1hr and half for a table and it's definitely overrated and didn't worth the wait. The food was unfortunately mediocre overall. The fried grouper didn't taste fresh at all. My steak, ordered medium-rare, came out looking closer to medium-well and was quite tough. Even the baby back ribs, which were touted as a signature dish, weren't grilled very well.

I'm truly disappointed to share that my once positive view of this establishment has taken a turn due to a recent experience that was less than satisfactory. It's possible that the restaurant was too busy, which may explain the poor service we received, but this does not justify the fact that the waitstaff was inattentive to our table. The waitress appeared to be overwhelmed and lacked friendliness, which left much to be desired.

Given the subpar service and mediocre food, I'm uncertain if I will choose to dine there again. To add insult to injury, we waited an extended period for our meals, only to discover that those who were seated after us received their food before us. This was a truly unfortunate experience that has tainted my previous impression of the establishment.

We drove over to beat the heat and it into disappointment. There were fun activities for the kids(large connect four, rope swing, bags) the view was nice, the service was friendly and fast (thanks Orlando), and the food was delicious. I had the reuben. Stopped in for lunch today. Jensen ( I think that was his name) was awesome. When we arrived the deck was full of people as was the area out in the yard. It looked like there were only 2 servers. But they really did a great job keeping everyone happy. I had the Rueben sandwich and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the Portabella sandwich and she said it was very good. We were very happy with the whole experience and will return when we are back in the area. Thank you all for a wonderful experience.

We had such a great experience we went back! We had walleye, ribs and chicken strips and all were EXCEPTIONAL! I'm always a bit leery to try ribs in restaurants because my husband's are so excellent, but these were divine!

The staff is a ton of fun. We met Todd, Carrie and a bartender who looks EXACTLY like John Prine! They all were brimming with midwest hospitality and I know if we lived here, this would be our home base. Gotta try the peanut butter tequila per John Prine's recommendation.

The Roadhouse also has an ample yard with tables, chairs and room for the dog to play a little ball. We spent the afternoon out there and it was glorious!

Are you kidding me..this place is not only a legend but a must must visit while visiting Door County. The location on Kangaroo Lake is magical, especially while dining on their outdoor patio and yard space (huge). The restaurant/bar itself is so classic and old school, staff is super friendly and accommodating with smiles and laughs. In fact every one there was smiling, laughing and chatting. Came for a fish fry tonight and were a little apprehensive about going out anywhere as we have a little one who does well but sometimes can get fussy and then we have to leave. On a Tuesday night at 5:30 we had a 45 minute wait for a table for 2. And it was worth the wait! We had been told to try this place as we visited Door County, by not just one person but several both out of the area as well as locals. It’s a true roadhouse spot so don’t dress up. Everyone is friendly and the staff is great.
I had the full rack of ribs with baked beans. I ate too much! It was worth it and I will do it again.
She had the Reuben sandwich with fries and it was so large 1/2 of it was brought home.

The lady was so rude! We loved this place and their onion loaf but we walked in 4pm today (Sunday) and she asked “what do you want” and proceeded to be so rude and meanly yell excuse me at my 3 year old.

Ribs, how were these even cooked, not smoked or grilled..little rays bbq on top. German potato salad tasted bland! Jambalaya $23 mostly rice, no flavor 3 cold jumbo shrimp on top. The burgers looked pathetic.

Sat at bar 15 minutes before acknowledged. Finally got a drink, said we wanted a sandwich. Got a menu. Finished our drinks, never was asked what we wanted to eat. Paid for our drink and left.

Many thanks to Uncle Jim for recommending the Coyote Roadhouse. Our lunch was wonderful. Even though the restaurant was hopping, the service and food were top notch. Awesome old school bar, great views of Kangaroo Lake and a very nice local vibe. We’ll be back! - Ross and Shirley

2 of 4 liked their food- the ribs and the western burger. 1 of us ordered a quesadilla with everything- CAUTION fresh vegetables on their menu means uncooked- there were completely raw onions, peppers and mushrooms on my quesadilla which no one wants. 1 of us ordered the prime rib sandwich cooked medium, which came more than 3 quarters fat and the rest cooked blue. He had to send it back, and requested the grilled ham and cheese as an alternative and it was equally unappealing (ham was grayish). After all the good reviews we were shocked that only 2 of us could actually eat our meal.

Only thing decent was the outdoor seating. The house salad had the part of the lettuce you always remove as I remember this from serving 12 years ago. There was 4 to our party and not a single person left full as no one finished their meal as it was very poorly prepared. The waitress literally acted like she hated every single table. I was there with my retired farmer parents who are not ones to say anything bad. My dad said “check this one off the list”. Words I’ve never heard. We also were starving prior to our meal as we took a 4 hour trip up here plus a 2.5 hour boat tour and did not eat. I’ve never been so disappointed. We’ll be stopping somewhere else again for supper in hopes that Door County doesn’t disappoint meal wise.

For the past two years, my husband and I have made it a point to stop here for dinner during our annual Door County getaway and this trend will continue! The service is slower, but I find that a good thing. We could actually finish our appetizer before dinner was brought out. It’s laid back, and a great atmosphere! We have never felt rushed even if we show up an hour before closing (I work in the restaurant business so I know how annoying that can be.. but we also try to eat and not sit around forever) Great place to watch the Packers game and relax!! Try the cherry margarita! It’s so good!

Legendary dive bar on Kangaroo Lake. Bloody Mary is incredible and their burgers may be the best in Door County. Whether you sit outside or in the views are great.

Very rude staff, specifically a middle-aged woman. She was very snippy, poor facial expressions/body language, appeared to hate seating groups. Food was mediocre at best...certainly did not match the overall 4.5 star rating that this restaurant currently has. Our group spent nearly $300 here and we all agreed we regret it and would not return here. I will say the outdoor seating and activity area here is inviting and nice.

Our server was a sweetheart, but the food???? My chili was older than my great grandmother, and my husband's burger was a gastronomic nightmare. It had a flavor so foul, it could've awakened the dead, and he only managed a few heroic bites. When asked if we wanted a Plan B, we refused the offer. When bad food ruins your appetite, you're not exactly eager to try the kitchen's next trainwreck. The server didn’t take the burger off of our bill, which I found pretty rude. I’m so sick of trying to find a decent place to go out to eat in Door County. I guess I’m too picky.

This place is great, busy place. The food is great, people and the atmosphere are great. We ate at the bar, or could have waited on a table. Inside is not too big but there is also outdoor seating. All the people working there make this a must visit, they are all great. The portions of food you get are perfect. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Awesome little rustic place. We went twice during our stay in Door County. Bar tender was amazing, food was delicious and servers were friendly. Be prepared to wait for a seat but know it's worth the wait. I am pickey when it comes to ribs and they did not disappoint, fall off the bone and meaty and my husband had the Friday night fish fry, grouper was the fish, and he loved it. It's worth the short drive outside of town

It's a roadhouse. Not much more to say except it lives up to its name. Food was simple but good. Service was 100% outstanding. Friendly, conversational, personable, and very attentive without feeling pushy. House old fashioned was great. I'm pretty sure the "secret" ingredient is either amaretto or hazelnut syrup, and im 100% for it.

No photos to share, but I doubt a photo would do a grilled cheese-blt justice. I will definitely be back to try their burgers and jambalaya in the future.

This place had such a great ambience & the food was delicious! Our server was very personable and they easily accommodated our large group for outdoor dining. We had a wonderful time sitting under the bistro lights, listening to great music and playing sand volleyball well into the evening. Highly recommend stopping here!!

Great food. Our server was great. But an older lady who sat us down and bussed our table at the end, rolled her eyes at us many times as she sat us down just because a kid got in her way one time as she was adding chairs to our table. She walked away and she started talking crap to us to a different table on the deck (This all happened within the 2 min we got there). No one was rowdy
and we were all just trying to sit.
