Was seated at 9:11 am for a quick breakfast before flight. After 20 minutes we hadn't been acknowledged by the server. We ended up leaving as slowness would have bumped too close to flight time. We saw 4 tables of people leave after giving up with waiting for a server. Host said the servers were working hard, but they only popped out a couple times and didn't say anything to waiting customers. After all the corporate problems of late, adding poor service is not helpful to the company. It was my worst experience ever with a Cracker Barrel restaurant. 😒

The food was atrocious. Our waitress was sweet but being overworked. The place was filthy. The floors needed swept. There was food and stickiness everywhere. I ordered hash Brown casserole, which is probably the most ordered thing in that business, it was barely cooked. The onions were still raw, the cheese was coagulated, and it was cold. I would have preferred breakfast, but we got no breakfast menu.

Love Cracker Barrel! The food is always hot and delicious, and the wait staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The store has so many fun products as well. Food can tend to be on the pricier side, BUT you get a large portion size so your money goes farther. I do not recommend the biscuits or cornbread. The biscuits were hard, and the cornbread was bitter and tasted like it had too much baking soda. I do recommend the chicken and the mac and cheese!

We had a few issues with our visit on 8/24/25. There were 4 adults and 1 child in our party. 1)my husband asked for a spoon to stir creamer in his coffee. Didn't receive it until our meals came out 20 minutes later. 2) I requested regular hashbrowns with my meal and got hashbrown casserole. I asked for regular hash browns again. A manager came over about 10 minutes later and asked if everything was OK, and I told him I was still waiting for my hashbrowns. He went to the kitchen and retrieved them. Apparently, they were just never picked up. Unfortunately, they were lukewarm. 3) Another member of our group had coffee that had gone cold. He asked our waitress for a fresh cup. Ten minutes later he actually got up to go to the kitchen to get a fresh cup of coffee. 4) The same person asked for toast with his meal. The toast was served on top of the biscuits. I had never seen that before. Also, we did not get the biscuits until we were half finished with our meals. 5) The child in our group wanted a cheese grilled sandwich. When we got it, the bread was toasted, but the cheese was not melted at all. We visited on a Sunday morning, and the restaurant was very crowded. Our waitress seemed to be overwhelmed. I felt bad for her. She was very friendly, and she looked like she was trying her best.

My family and I have been stressed over a hard move from Tennessee to here in Madison. John a tall smiley Red-headed gent was our server and he gave us the royal treatment. I used to love going here, but last time I went might have been my last. I even brought a guest who had never been to Cracker Barrel before. Was excited to show him this place!
BUT Service was possibly the worst I've ever seen, anywhere. I am NOT blaming this on the poor waitress. She seemed overworked, or they were short staff, or maybe it was something in the kitchen. Either way, it appeared that she was the one who had to look bad.
One waitress took our drink orders. Then another, exasperated waitress came out to apologize for the mix up. Then gave us all different drinks than what we ordered. Took forever for her to get back with the right drinks, which were still wrong. Then took awhile for food to come out, which was partially wrong as well. Took forever to get her attention. I asked for ketchup. It took so long, i had to go ask the hostess. My wife spilled some of her drink. Couldn't find anyone, so had to ask waitress again. Took another 10 minutes to get a box. Waitress got upset that I had to keep getting up to get things, but she was nowhere to be seen. Not sure what else I was supposed to do.

No idea what was going on that day, but it was far from efficient. The waitress obviously knew things were not together. Hence, whatever the root of the problem was, I doubt it was with anything she had influence over.

I think it's great that Cracker Barrel has come around to accepting and serving ALL people. I think anyone can come here and eat, feel very comfortable and enjoy what they have to offer.

Took forever to get my drink. I Ordered the homestyle chicken, with 2 sides got my mashed potatoes never got my carrots. Had to ask multiple times for my water. Brought my root beer. Normally, Cracker Barrel is holy grail!! However, today was not good. I ordered the southern fried chicken (first time) and the cinnamon rolls. Both items tasted old. The chicken was very dark on the inside. The skin had a funny taste (similar to old grease.) The cinnamon rolls were slightly either overcooked or old. It did not seem fresh. Pretty disappointed in the meal unfortunately.

This place is showing its age. Time for an upgrade to the restaurant and especially the restrooms they are dirty and worn out. The sink (mens) area is filthy. Old molding caulk and its dirty.
Ordered a breakfast with 3 eggs and I received 1 egg cooked and a second egg broken. How could you even serve that? The server did go and order two more eggs to correct the situation. The biscuits were hard like hockey pucks.
The servers always disappeared into the kitchen. Had to ask for refills on drinks. Give the server some help. They even had to bus the dirty tables. What’s wrong with helping them out? Shame on the management and owners of this restaurant.
When we entered the restaurant to be seated we waited for a server to come seat us. The host was too busy on her phone to seat us. She was always on her phone.
We have tried Rockford, Janesville, and nowMadison. Cracker Barrel has lost the formula to good food, clean restaurants, and good service. Such a shame, we always counted on your restaurants.

I understand being busy. Saturday mornings everyone wants to go out as a family for breakfast. But there are certain things that should be done when you are a server or manager of a business.
1. If the kitchen is backed up. Don't seat people right away. They will be waiting an hour for their food or drink order and will leave or leave upset.
2. If they have a young child. Bring their food out first. This allows the parents to not worry about trying to entertain them during the wait. And allows them to eat when they get their meal.
3. Don't bring dishes full of a unknown liquidity substance. It's gross.
4. Drink refills. I feel this is a given.
5. When you ask how everything is and the person responds "it's okay." Ask what is wrong.
6. When you see half the party gone. Child and dad...don't take 15 mins to get them their check.
Could we have left? Yes. But with a hungry child and plans already shot for the day. You sit through it and hope for the best. Did we learn our lesson? Yes. We won't be back.

This is the best Cracker Barrel I have ever been to! The food is perfect, the service is out of this world, and everyone is so nice! I would drive an hour just to come to this location. Our server Carmella gave us options and recommendations and was super speedy and kind. We also got to meet the manager, Erika, who is absolutely wonderful and made sure we felt right at home. It’s amazing how this store feels exactly the same as it did in the 90’s, and that’s not a bad thing. The country store is well kept, clean and organized with a wide selection of home decor and kids toys. Sales make the prices very competitive.

The restaurant is clean and spacious with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Service is pleasant and fast, but the food leaves a bit to be desired. The egg and hash brown casserole was over salted and mushy. Saving grace is that the prices are still in the 2010s range.

Pecan pancakes very tasty with lots of nuts and of course their real maple syrup. We used ours points to try the sharable mini cinnamon rolls. They were excellent. Highly recommend both. Our server John was great! We have been here before and always have had positive experiences. The food is always good and comes in great portions and the waitstaff is always very kind and attentive. The older woman with brown hair and a ponytail a little after 5 pm who "greeted" us ,obviously hates her job and she made it clear that we, as guests, knew it.

Ordered Easter hot meal for 4-6 people for a 11:30am Curbside pickup! Got there around 11:37am and checked in according to their directions and waited! And waited! And waited! Aftere about 15-20 minutes wanting, went inside to find out where my order was, talked with one person, she talked to another (manager?). Was told they would look into it. Waited! She came back and said they were putting it together and it would be out shortly. Meanwhile, 2 people came to Curbside, after us, and got their orders before us!! Gal comes out with a order, asks me my name, it's not mine! So at this time it's about 30 minutes after my scheduled time!! Waited another 5 minutes or so and she comes out with my order and I let her know this was completely unexceptable! Told her what time I ordered for and what time I checked in, how long I waited until going inside and asking. So it sounded like they didn't know I was there until I WALKED in and asked where my order was!!! I was told some newer person working in there and moved my order off screen or something. That's no excuse!! I followed their directions for checking in and saying I'M HERE!! And when I complained on the website chat, I get a told I'll get a gift card for complementary drink meal and dessert! When it showed up in email, it's only for a meal!!! That not very much considering what we spent on the meal!!! And tip!!

I recently dined at Cracker Barrel and was thoroughly impressed by both the comforting atmosphere and the delectable food. I opted for the Country Fried Steak meal, which was perfectly crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful on the inside; it truly felt like a warm hug for the palate. The sampler plate was another highlight, allowing me to indulge in a variety of delightful Southern favorites, from the buttermilk pancakes to the rich, creamy mac and cheese. The wait staff were warm and attentive, ensuring my dining experience was seamless and enjoyable, making me feel right at home. If you’re in the mood for genuine comfort food served with a smile, Cracker Barrel is a must-visit! The only complaint I have was the younger male cashier who seemed a little reluctant to have a pleasant attitude. He wasn't very nice when we went to pay the bill and even though I said have a good day he turned his back to me and ignored us. Kinda rude.

Had the grilled catfish it was gross. Fried apples had a peeling and stem. Waitress was new she did not take good care of us, we had to ask host for things and they weren't busy. She took our order for drinks and when she finally came back she asked to take our drink order again. And we were her 4th table. It used to be my favorite place to go thinking not anymore.

Had the cajun catfish and pot pie! great! only bad thing was we were too full for desert and the strawberry icebox pie sounded sooooo good! next time!

my mom ordered chicken and dumpling there was on dumpling and hardly enough broth to cover that. my kids was with me there meals didn't even come with vegetables. had to pay extra what should be a staple in making meals for kids. the other weekend I went there Sunday morning had family bathing so I had to get the kids up early. they was being well behaved I thought that's awsome I'll get them a good meal for the trip ahead. asked what they wanted they said mac and cheese. the waitress said no the grill won't be fired up till 11.00 we would have to come back. that's the first time I have ever had to leave because a RESTAURANT could not start a grill. what is going on with this place??
