This place needs to stop frying everything super hard! Not all black people like their fish & chicken fried to death. C'mon now. I ordered the 3 pc bone catfish & 10 pc shrimp combo for my Mom (who has no teeth) and she couldn't even eat the pieces of catfish. They were fried so hard that she threw them away. And my Mom does not waste catfish. The shrimp were also overly fried. There were so tiny and rock hard. This makes me so upset. On Doordash there's an option where you can choose "soft fry" which I did, and we still got that crap delivered. Ugh! Food is too high to be playing with people money.

Update...two new owners, since I first left a review. The owner, after the original, was awful, staff, rude, and acted like you were a problem for bothering them. The third owner, who is Mexican, has brought it back, and their food is great, especially the chicken! The Middle Eastern part of the menu is gone. Original review: The chicken is fresh and garnished with slivers of lemon grass. The beef kabob sandwich is absolutely wonderful!!! Best chicken in town, indeed.

Still love their chicken, especially their whole wings and leg/thighs. I miss the ginger flakes they used to have, but it is what it is. Lemon pepper salt works great.

This last time, we got the 15 piece whole wings and 8 piece legs and thighs. It was plenty to feed two men with big appetites and a gal with a big appetite. Should be plenty for 4 people with big appetites, with leftovers. I generally get a lot so we can have leftovers.

A day later, I'm looking at their menu again and wondering... we didn't get any coleslaw and bread, though we did get a lot of fries and aLOT of hot sauce. Actually, they've forgotten Cole slaw on several occasions. Remember to check and ask before bringing home the chicken!

They have changed ownership since I was absolutely wowed when I first learned about them some years ago, before covid.
The chicken is still good and we still to get takeout from here from time to time, but it's definitely no longer the bestest place for chicken.

the little things that made it special, like the ginger strips are gone, though they still give you lemon salt sprinkles.

Service is fine - it is a pick up joint so we don't have much interaction. I've gotten door dash service but they always seem to forget something when I do. Like this time, they forgot fries. Last time, Cole slaw. When we pick up ourselves, we always check before we leave because it happens quite often.

- fried whole wings - deliciously golden, not too salty. They are whole wings, in 3 sections, which is nice if you like the wing tip area like I do.

- potato wedges - these are more expensive than regular fries, but there's no Merrit in paying the extra. Regular fries are pretty good, and the wedges are subpar.

Oh, and don't get lost. They are located right on the corner of Teutonia and Good Hope, inside the gas station. (and don't get gas here - it's cheaper just down the street)

Awesome Lunch deal! 11am to 2pm. The food was great! I got 3 legs and 2 thighs, French fries, coleslaw and a 12oz can of soda for about $11. The meal also came with BBQ and hot sauce and I believe you can get lemon pepper, as well. It's a separate entrance from the gas station, closer to good hope. I'll be back for sure!

Website indicates restaurant opens at 10:30…wasn’t open until 11:15(cashier at bp Station indicated they normally open at 11:15)…Website features a lunch special for 3 Chicken Tenders, Fries and Coleslaw for $9.99…turns out that item isn’t available…Ordered the 3 piece tenders with fries and coleslaw for $13.99…20 minutes later I hot four tenders, fries and no coleslaw a long with a can of soda the cashier “threw in” presumably for the inconvenience…Unfortunately the Tenders were hot, crispy, moist and delicious…I say unfortunately because I would never visit this “kitchen” again due to cost and inconsistency…

We just got an 8pc with fries and onion rings to go. Crispiest chicken ever with just the right amount of seasonings, fries were crispy, onion rings were perfect, they gave us some hot sauce we didn't realize we wanted but was awesome, all came out piping hot. Not recommended for quick chicken lunch

First visit. It was a 10 to 15 minute wait for food. Waiting area in store had dirty floor. Food was hot but chicken was a C. Fries were A-. Cashier was friendly but not enough for me to recommend the place. Also, the video screen in store shows food (hamburger; nachos) not on the posted menu. The posted menu has a lot of options for seafood. I didn’t try any of those items. Also, a homeless man asked me for food and money as I walked the 30 feet from the store to my car at the gas pump.

I placed an order thru Door Dash for the loaded fries and received what looked like loaded fries but turned out to be loaded rocks. To top it off, that 1st bite included a mushroom which is not in the description for the fries. I am allergic to mushrooms so I would have never ordered this item had I saw that. A hidden gem on the far north side of Milwaukee. I had driven by many times and finally decided to stop in. I'm glad I did as this place can easily compete for the best chicken in the city! So this place is “technically” in a gas station type building. I was skeptical at first. Dude! It was the most delicious catfish and chicken ever!! The service was fantastic! When this guy is on,he's ON!!! His chicken is perfectly fried. Now I did catch him on one off day,kinda embarrassed me cause I was bragging on his chicken & bought a bunch for my family & it was kinda "Meh". I guess it was like the gizzards(They were dry & hard & probably not soaked in buttermilk or pressure cooked or slow cooked or boiled to make them soft,they are probably just rinsed off out the package, battered & fried,same goes for the boneless wings,just dry & the chicken was meh(That only happened one time,so again probably an off day,maybe needed to change the grease???). I went back again & got a catfish filet sandwich & bought more chicken for the kids. The fish sandwich was great,the fries were off this day,I don't know why,they tasted extra fishy & were dry. The chicken was also back up to standard. I hope that this business has much success, cool down to earth people. Would've given 5 stars if it weren't for the couple inconsistencies & the wait time,but I get it,he cooks it fresh & that is what's best lol.
