I ordered the Macita bowl with the mojo sauce on the side.(to-go) 10/10 I live about 20 mins away and my food was still hot when I got home. Packed well. Smelled amazing. Perfect taste and texture. Every customer expects that what they order from the menu will be delivered correctly and with care. Unfortunately, that was not the case with my order. The steak sandwich arrived soggy and did not taste fresh. Even worse, it came without french fries, which was one of the main reasons I chose this item. I specifically ordered the steak sandwich with fries, yet they never arrived.

I even left a note asking for hot sauce, and that was ignored too. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. Food quality, accuracy, and attention to detail matter, and this place did not deliver on any of those. Definitely a place I will not be ordering from again.

I would not recommend this place for vegetarians. They have a few options but nothing that exceptional. I understand that Cuban food is mainly beef and other meats, but they should incorporate a more clear vegetarian menu section.
The service was underwhelming as you had to go up to the bar every time you needed a refill of your soda.
The overall vibe of the place is just okay, but in my personal opinion I would rather eat a subway sandwich than the cheese sandwich at Cubanita’s.

Amazing Cuban Food. I lived in South Florida for a long time and took good Cuban food for granted. This location is family run and the daughters made sure everything was top notch! The Plantain Platter was a great introduction for my work associate and the Ropa Vieja was the best I have had! Only visiting town for three nights but going back tomorrow! Would love to go back next time I'm in Milwaukee. The empanadas were a big highlight for me, very very good.
I wish I ordered more of the cuban empanadas; crispy, yet soft with a evenly balanced flavored filling.
Overall, had a large menu, many options to choose from.
The plantain platter was a good choice for my first time but ultimately the plantain chips are the best, especially with the guacamole.
Croquettes were good, unique in that the inside was mixed together nicely, almost pureed verses chopped.

Ambiance was okay, not plain but not overly decorated. I will definitely be going for the food not the place.

I haven’t been here for a couple years but was in the area. It’s the only restaurant in downtown Milwaukee I frequent regularly. I used to come for the Cubano and Pork dish. I still got the Pork with lemon but it wasn’t tender as I remember. The black beans very soupy. Hopefully the Empanada and plantain chips that I’m taking to go will be better.

Edit: I had to downgrade my review after eating the empanadas. They were oily and burnt. Mostly tasteless. I have lost my go-to Cuban restaurant but that is how things go.

This place rocks. Everything was fantastic. I would recommend literally any of the premade bowls, but the macita bowl was my favorite. If you’re into cocktails, the mojitos are absolutely wild (I mean, I was a quarter into mine and was already feeling it), they taste amazing too! I really enjoyed the colorful and tastefully worn in ambiance.

Parking in the area is rough, not the restaurants fault but if you make a reservation be sure to show up early enough to walk if you need to.

My family and I went here a few days ago. We brought my grandpa who came in all the way from Paraguay. We had all of the appetizers, the mojito of the month, a tres leches cake, a coconut cake, and a key lime pie. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing and our waitress even gave us some mango sauce to try with our plantains. Amazing. Wonderful dinner with an exceptional waitress. She helped with suggestions and told us about Cuba. I wanted to try a new food place in the city , this is not the place to get real authentic cuban food from , first of all they give you mexican rice not even real cuban rice . Then the prices are crazy for the little servings they give you it’s basically a snack portion. Lets not even talk about the canned beans they gave me ! The sandwiches are literally smushed so flat that they barely give you meat they put a thin slab of bistec with fries on the sandwich and called it a day the sandwich wasnt even good it was so bland . Oh. My. Goodness. We had such an INCREDIBLE experience at our first visit to Cubanitas! We were killing time before another engagement, and we stopped in for a quick drink and decided to also try the plantains and guac. Such a happy decision! The drinks were incredible (Mojito of the Month - Pomegranate FTW!) and the fried plantains and guac were otherworldly. It was so hard to not blow off our next appointment and park it and stay for dinner and more drinks!

When we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest, funniest and most knowledgeable host ever, Valentina. She gave us great recommendations and an overview of what we're definitely ordering the next time we visit...which may be tomorrow. If the rest of the menu is as good, this is a somewhat dangerous find.

While our food and drink were excellent, I would be remiss if I didn't share how lovely the restaurant atmosphere is -- I really felt like we were transported to a friend's home. Between the family photos on the wall, and how lovely and engaging Valentina was, we really didn't want to leave. I can't WAIT to go back!

I always have a great experience every time I visit. The food and decor are very similar to what you'd experience in Cuba. My favorite is the shrimp with yellow rice and black beans.

The lunch we had here was the best food we had in Milwaukee all weekend! The Cuban sandwich was simply perfection! Yucca fritas and carne con papas were also good and drinks were delicious! The restaurant itself was bright and lovely with indoor and outdoor seating options! We will definitely be back!

Ok seriously go for lunch or diner and ask for brian have him make you a mojito (the best I’ve ever had) and order the cuban sandwich the camerones (shrimp) or one of the bowl… this place is my go to for down town dining.

Food quality and taste - AMAAAZING!!!! so delish <3 (I ordered the ever popular Cuban sammie along with a side of maduros (sweet fried plantains))

LOVE, LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. I'm Puerto Rican, so the fact that I can find Cuban food similar to Puerto Rican in Wisconsin is a PLUS. Every time we go to Milwaukee this is our place to eat. The food is delicious and the service is even exceptional. Totally 💯 recommend!

The food was phenomenal. However, the service at lunch time was slow and the only man behind the bar had a sour attitude with me and my parents. We were not offered water when we sat down and he thanked other patrons as they left but not us. My parents said they won't return.

Cute place, but if you are looking for authentic Cuban food... this ain't it. Tasty for what it was, but not Cuban. Disappointing. It's like they saw Cuban cooking on TV but have never actually tried the real thing. (I'm a Miami native who grew up eating authentic dishes.)

The wife and I had lunch here while I was visiting Milwaukee on a business trip. Both of us decided to give the Macita bowl a try, and loved it! Fabulous food, fast service, and friendly staff. A definite go to if you're in Milwaukee.

I ordered through Doordash empanadas, tostones and a flan. The chicken empanada had raisins in it! Which was not noted on the menu on doordash, no one in my house would eat them because of that. I've never had them with rasines, I think it's just wrong to put raisins in empanadas, but although I'm not a huge fan of raisins, I still tried it... the flavor was gross I had to spit it out. The tostones were very dry and tasted and felt as if they were refrigerated at some point, no freshness. Then the flan, which is my all time favorite dessert, was very small and mushy... the flavor was okay. Will not be ordering from here again.

I went with a group of coworkers for one of their birthdays. I ordered the steak sandwich (Pan con Bistec) and it was just truly disgusting. The steak was grey, dry and chewy - I couldn't eat more than one bite. I pealed the steak off in an attempt to just eat the bread but that was also gross. I also got a side of fries, these were fine but very oily and almost sickening to a point because of the oil. Nothing I ate tasted fresh, in all honesty I am concerned I will get food poisoning because of the lack of freshness. Luckily the staff was nice, the place was clean and the food came out quick so my experience was not all bad. I truly don't want to bash this restaurant, but the food was just so bad I feel like something has to be said.

The plantain crusted salmon and black beans were amazing. Plus you cannot go wrong with the plantains and guacamole. Our server seemed stressed because the place was busy but other than that experience was awesome
