Taking a lunch break & to my surprise the cook (heavy set, maybe mixed race) was very loudly yelling actual racist "jokes" to his coworkers. I heard phrases like "I can tell the dark dudes coming i can sense his big lips" "I have my slave back there he's off his leash right now" plus more slave jokes... I'm guessing they were referring to another, evidently dark, black coworker in the back. It felt super unprofessional and kind of odd that everyone could hear him but no one even reacted, not the staff nor customers. Like it was a normal Tuesday. It was even weirder because at the same time another employee was talking to an old man about his sick wife. That was sweet. But I just felt bad and like they were gonna start talking about me once I left. Very odd lunch break. Honestly he seems like he'd make it as a comedian, just save the jokes for an open bar.

We usually really enjoy Culvers, but I was really disappointed by this last visit in Cross Plains. We were only ordering custard, and they had us pull forward to wait. I think they completely forgot to bring out our custard. Fifteen minutes later an employee walked by delivering food to another vehicle, and said he would check on our order. He never came back and no one else brought our order. After twenty some minutes of waiting, my husband went in. They had made our custard, but never brought it out to us in the line. The custard was so melted, it just poured off our spoons. My husband has them remake our daughters (they never offered to remake any of them, though they were clearly melted). My daughter had a blizzard with M&Ms, and they put in Skittles instead. ☹️ Really disappointing visit.

On this fine morning, December 22, 2024, I got news that my grandmother does not have much longer to live. The oncologist told us that it’s no longer benign. And that my beloved grandmother will not be with us much longer. I just visited her this night and through all the tears all the sorrows we said our goodbyes. I could not find the ray of light to make my day better yet as I was driving back home a blue flicker caught in my eye. As I pulled into the driveway of the Culver’s I thought to myself “I need something to make me feel better.” When I when I approached the counter, I was greeted by the most energetic, charismatic, and professional crew member I’ve ever met. Gabie met me with an enthusiasm I’ve never experienced for the financial transaction that was about to take place. As I looked up at the board, looking through all of the options to indulge myself in tonight, I asked Gabie “What’s your favorite option on a sad day?” She proceeded to enlighten me by saying the “Culver’s deluxe double with bacon, no tomato, no onion, no lettuce is my personal favorite” in which, for second, I felt a joy return to my soul. I looked up at Gabie with a flicker in my eye. I knew that this meal could turn my day around as if it were a Christmas miracle. I finally felt happy again. As I approached the booth in which I would be dining in tonight, I looked out the window across the way looking at the Kwik Trip thinking about all of the past experiences I’ve had with my grandmother, and yet it didn’t phase me, promptly , my food came to me. I looked at it. The blue tray filled with my entrée of fries and a delicious butter burger with no lettuce, no tomato or onion and of course, a chocky milkshake when I tell you, every second of this meal was filled with euphoria I mean it. I went from an all-time low, to one of the happiest moments in my entire life. Mr. Craig Culver and Gabie at the point of service. I would like to reach out my upmost respect and thankfulness for the opportunity of happiness given to me tonight on this historic day, December 22, 2024 have a great new year guys

The guy who took my order was very nice and friendly to talk to. I wished I would have gotten his name. I think treating customers well, brings them back to an establishment. Culver's is always: clean, food warm, made fresh, and you are always thanked for your order, sincerely. Even if a order is incorrect, it's always an easy fix.
Times and money are hard currently. Serving people kindly while serving good food, is a good thing. ~ 🎆

Seems more pricey than other Culver's. I asked for a chicken tender kids meal for my daughter and they gave a cheeseburger meal instead and my Burger the Bacon was tough. And after waiting about 15 minutes for food the employee bringing the food out to my car had like 6 bags of stuff and when he went to hand me my stuff the bag dropped on the ground.

I have been to this location maybe a half dozen times and would say it definitely is not up to Culvers standards. The size of the lot the location on is way too small. Drive thru literally took 15 minutes the last time we were there and the food wasnt fresh. Will not go to that Culvers again. Always very slow service.

It's Culver's, you know what you're coming here for. My personal favorite items are the bacon cheese burgers and the buffalo chicken strips.

What really sets this place apart is the people who staff it and the owners who so clearly care about their community presence. All the staff, from the teens first starting out to the part timers just getting out of the house, they are always in a good mood and it makes the whole place better for it.

After a long day collecting seeds and photos & scientific observation, nothing better than a Culver's Medium Chocolate Concrete Mixer with ample large chunks of Oreos mixed in.
After a warm early autumn afternoon walking around for 7 hrs on the steep hillsides of Festge County Park nearby, this was a welcome break to a busy very active day spent volunteering.
The custard goes down smooth and luscious as always, it's cooling effect on one's bodily functions is almost immediate.
A major reason I frequent Culver's during spring to fall months is the cooling custard and it's soothing, calming effect on your nervous system.

Guess late evening ice cream trips are out of the question. past several trips there we have recieved very melted watery like ice cream. I wouldn't expect a Concrete mixers and sundays shouldn't be easier to drink than a milk shake but yet that's how my last several purchases have been. Since I don't travel, my elderly neighbor took my 'Buy 1, Get 1 Free' Mixer coupon and the cashier took the coupon but didn't discount the free one. So I call and the person says he'll save coupon for us in envelope. Turns out they tossed it after a couple of days. Just got them to honor it anyway and the total was $8.11.
I would have expected better customer service after they screwed up and my friend had to make a second trip with the price of gas.
Instead, I spent way more than I intended of can afford.

*Review is only for my previous visit last week. I stop occasionally when driving through Cross Plains. Service is normally good.
I go to register & start by ordering my 1st item- a kid's grilled cheese meal. Cashier doesn't say a word, so I look up & repeat. This Chumley looking, silent Bob mf says nothing & points to a sign- "Kid's meals for ages 12 & under". I asked if I wasn't allowed to buy my child a meal, decide I'm not buying meals for anyone at this location & turn to leave, despite Chumley assuring me "we can work something out".
Is Chumley the Culver's police? Why would Culver's create a policy that dictates what a customer would like to spend their money on in your establishment? Honestly, I do order the grilled cheese meal for myself due to there being limited options for people that do not want a burger or chicken. The Culver's veggie burger option is completely blah. Some locations had a tuna melt that has been eliminated. What if you stopped caring that a 50 year old woman wants to buy a grilled cheese sandwich -especially if she is upgrading and ordering other items anyway?

Visited restaurant in small village of Cross Plains, WI. There are very few eating establishments in this area, but Culver's is a great option when looking for something fast and affordable. The restaurant is always clean and the staff friendly and helpful. You get the sense that the employee enjoying working with each other which is refreshing to see. The food was served quickly after ordering which is helpful when you have small children who are hungry and impatient. Highly recommend a visit for some fresh custard.
