Hands down the best Culver’s on the planet. This was the very first Culver’s and you can feel the pride in how it’s run. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, the service is consistent, and everything is kept spotless.

What makes this location even more special is that they still offer the strawberry field salad, long after other locations have stopped. That alone is worth the drive. I actually come here from Mount Horeb sometimes just because this Culver’s is better than the one in town.

They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and taken care of. Solid food, excellent service, and a true classic — this Culver’s sets the bar.

I’ve lived in this city my whole life, and I’ve been going to Culver’s just as long. Don’t get me wrong—the employees have always been very nice, and I’ve never had a problem until today.

My husband ordered an 8-piece buffalo chicken tender meal at the drive-thru, but instead we got cheese curds. This meal was meant to be for us after a long day visiting past family members for Labor Day. When we got home and realized the order was wrong, my husband went back to the store with the receipt and asked for a remake. Since we both have worked in customer service, we felt bad, but we let them handle the situation. One of the employees admitted they had messed up and said they were waiting for us to come back. He returned with a new batch of chicken tenders, but when I checked, they had given us regular tenders instead of buffalo—the ones we actually ordered. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal if it was just for me and my husband, but we were serving family who specifically wanted buffalo tenders and even pitched in money to help pay for the meal.

This time, I went inside instead of my husband because he felt bad asking again. I explained the situation to a kind gentleman who was restocking. While I was talking to him, another worker stepped in and explained that they couldn’t take the regular tenders back but that they’d make a new batch of buffalo tenders. She was very sweet and understanding.

Unfortunately, the cook seemed upset and loudly said, “BRUH, FOR WHAT?!”—clear enough for me to hear. The worker explained to him that it wasn’t anyone’s fault, just a miscommunication. I left with the new tenders and, trusting they had finally fixed the mistake, didn’t check the box this time. But when I got home, my husband showed me that they were once again regular tenders.

At that point, I decided to just eat them because I didn’t want to go back a third time, but it was frustrating since family had paid for buffalo tenders, not regular ones. I called the store to explain, and the person who answered said he was there when I came in and insisted that I had asked for regular tenders. Why would I ask for regular tenders again when I literally had a box of them in my hand? He basically accused me of lying, which felt really unfair. On top of that, he claimed he “heard me,” even though he wasn’t the one talking to me directly.

When we went back again to finally get the right order, the two girls who had helped me earlier were outside taking out the trash. As we drove up to the drive thru with our windows down, we heard one of them say, “OMG, they’re right there!” and then the taller blonde girl with glasses burst out laughing with her. They were clearly talking about us. It was frustrating and disrespectful, especially because we had been trying our best to stay polite throughout the entire situation.

We’re not upset or rating this because we got the wrong order 3-4 times. It’s the customer service.

In the end, what should have been a simple order turned into a stressful and disappointing experience.

We often visit and its always a great experience. One thing that's really frustrating though, we were told if we saved up enough scoopies tokens OR paid $30 we could get the giant cheese curd stuffy. So we saved a few more and came back 1 week later with all four of our kids and enough tokens just to be disappointed and told that we can no longer get it. So disappointing!! Love the staff, hate the opportunity being taken from us in literally a week!!

What a beautiful and inspiring restaurant! Rita was my cashier today and provided that signature Wisconsin hospitality I absolutely love about Culver's. The original location is extremely clean, functionally roomy and has lovely outdoor seating with murals and colorfully well kept flower arrangements. In my opinion, Culver's is the best chain in the country and it echos here in a genuinely glorious fashion. "My pleasure" and "thank you" are embedded within all the team members language. They all seemed to be working together and smiling in a harmonious display of unity. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

The Middleton location does a much better job of making cold, more solid custard. A better option for ice cream in Sauk City is the Mexican restaurant on Water Street called Delicias Monarkas for Chocolate Shoppe ice cream

There is a young man 14 years of age working at this Culver's he is without a doubt one of the most remarkable young men I have encountered recently in the workforce. I had been out riding my wheelchair and went in to get a bite to eat and asked if I could plug the wheelchair in to charge my battery.This young Krayson, man took me to the back where I asked, found me a table and wastook my plug out and connected it to the wall into my wheelchair, then he connected my cell phone charger to the plug and he went to bring my food back, he went up and got me ketchup, napkins, And came back several times to ask if there's anything else he could do and did not want to accept a tip but I insisted. Such politeness is a rare thing these days. I talked to the man who the first waited on me and told him about anything then talked to the manager and told him I was going to swap and ride around a little bit before having an ice cream cone and I was riding up the road Krayson come running after me calling out he had found my glasses I once again tried to give him a tip but he back off and wouldn't accept one. So I went back to Culver's and talked to the manager again and said to make sure that he told his parents how thankful I was that they raised such a wonderful young man and I thanked him again.

This was our first time here, we were traveling. It was walking distance from our hotel. The restaurant was very well kept. There were so many employees, adding to the efficiency of taking orders and running them to tables. The food was good quality. We had very good service. The employee taking our order was so patient with our kids and extremely thorough with all the options. There was another employee maintaining the tables/ clean up/ and keeping the condiment area stocked. He was sociable and kind. I highly recommend this location.

I had planned on a motorcycle trip to Lebanon TN. June 19-21, 2025. BMW MOA club was meeting there. I left my home in Metropolitan area of Minneapolis at 5:00 am.
I rode I-94./90. North of Madison in heavy downpour of rain, my helmet steamed up! Riding BLIND on I-90 and crashed!
In the hospital I contacted my brother to retrieve the BMW motorcycle. He agreed to come. During my hospital stay. The towing company was trying to get my attention!
I had NO idea but when searching the web with my phone and finally talk to my brother.
Here he was at the towing company!
I gave the release and paid the fees for my motorcycle...so on the way back to Minnesota we stopped at Culvers. Purchased 4 Happy meals and Alaskan Cod.

Just ordered and this is not the first time this has happened. We got our order taken within five minutes through the drive-through and ordered two concrete mixers and a cheese cart. Yes I know there is a school event going on, but it should not take 20 minutes to get two concrete mixers and a cheese curd and when you get your concrete mixers, it's just liquid. Then the girl says sorry it took so long our custard can't keep up with the busyness. OK well then the custard would be fresh not melted. She said short staff to I think on sports nights Maybe have a little bit more help.

After a long night of loading a large moving truck, my girlfriend and I stopped for a late dinner of Butterburgers and sides, which were all delish. The highlight of the night, however, was the excellent, friendly, and funny service provided by Clayton, the young man who took our dinner and to-go custard orders. He was extremely personable and had a great sense of humor. :)

Nothing Special. Supposedly the "home" store for nationwide chain yet it is small and looks like every other fast food restaurant. Workers are nice and friendly, but often get the order wrong - DO NOT pull away from the drive thru without checking they didn't forget something, including fries! In the last year menu options falling off, basically just a burger and fry joint now and expensive! Wendy's is just as fresh and a better deal - they need to open one here so people have an option.

Had a bad experience tonight in Culver's drive through in Sauk City. This is their flagship restaurant & the service was terrible. First off, I waited for over 30 minutes for them to bring my food out & when they finally brought it out they forgot the cocktail sauce. Ever try eating shrimp w/o cocktail sauce? When I called Culver's & talked to a crew leader, she said I'd have to come back & get the sauce, but the food was already cold. Very disappointed with their service tonight

Goingvhere was a really bad experience. After arriving while inside the person I wascyo meet arrived. So, I went out to him. Upon going back in to sit and finish business deal. Was met at the door by an extremely rude lady. 😒 she insisted they were not open for buisinness and could not re-enter the store. SKE kept saying food wasn't ready, and so on and so on. Sad that's no problem. I just want to sit and do my meeting with this client .
Continuing to be rude. Staying onto in a parking lot on a cane is not easy or fun. 😞
But it seems she dont give a care.
Told her I'd be complaining to Dave about this. She just walked off.
The doors were unlocked, and the lights were on, and there was no visible closed sign that I could see. Just an sad experience all around.
