The atmosphere here is beautiful, but unfortunately the food did not compare. I ordered a scrambler with onions, peppers, and mushrooms but there was barely any of the toppings inside. The hashbrowns were alright but the pancakes were just not good. They had a sour taste to it which was off-putting, and I think they must’ve used yogurt when making them or something. But I didn’t want to finish them. Overall would not recommend for the price point.

The restaurant is very clean, great decor, and vibe. It might have been a fluke, but when I visited with my sister on Mother's Day, we did not receive acceptable service and the food was cold. We saw our server after 10 minutes at the table, brought our drinks and took our order, and then 40 minutes later were served cold panini pressed sandwiches. Both of us didn't want to finish our food, but it was another 35 minutes before we saw our server to ask for a box or the bill. We did speak with the owner at the register but was offered no apology or resolution.
I would give them another chance, but not on a busy day. Just seemed like the staff became overwhelmed and we were missed.

Stopped here for lunch yesterday. I had the taco salad. I believe old oil was used in deep frying the taco shell. It had a taste, but I ate it anyway and later that day and evening I had some not so good effects. (Re-tasting that old oil ). My fault for not mentioning. I tried calling the restaurant with no answer. All I ask is to Please check the oil and make sure it is fresh. The rest of the group enjoyed their lunch.
The waitress was great! The atmosphere is so nice, and I do like that they have a sign that says if you are in need, come in for a bowl of soup and breadstick. That is a great thing to do.

Dali's is an awesome find! We are out of towners looking for a breakfast spot. The atmosphere of an old bank is gorgeous, making it a feast for the eyes. The food was spot on. Bacon cooked to perfection, and cinnamon French toast with fresh strawberries was delicious! Scrambled eggs were fluffy, and coffee hit the spot. Husband enjoyed his Western omelet and homestyle potatoes and loved the coffee. Service was fast and friendly. It wasn't very busy when we dined, giving us extra time to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Very stingy portions. The pancakes were 1/3 larger than a silver dollar and such a small amount of fries that were luke warm. The Monte Cristo was half sandwich Monte and the other half ham and cheese. The server was nice, but the service was not so good. The interior decor was impressive 👏

I’m from New York City, and let me tell you, Dali’s Cafe in Wisconsin could easily hold its own back home! My sister takes me here for lunch when I visit our hometown, and I am never disappointed. He remodeled the old and, for its time very dignified, hotel lobby into a well lit and handsome area. I read down thru the reviews and I'm sorry that some had a less-than-great experience here. Admittedly, it can get busy here and overwhelm the staff. But this restaurant is owned by a family that has kept it open thru all the tumult and riskiness for restaurants over the last decade. The kids were babies when they opened and are now being trained to help and work in the restaurant. It's amazingly cute and I love to see the responsibility being taught to the next generation. I've always enjoyed my food here and if anything comes wrong, they are always gracious to fix it.
This restaurant should win an award for keeping a piece of life in downtown Manitowoc for so long. I am here eating atm (no bank pun intended 🙃) and wish this family and this restaurant another decade of growth and community prosperity!

I was looking up breakfast places and this was the FIRST place to pop up .... and it's the LAST place I'll go to, Prices are outrageous.
Side of cottage cheese $7 (I can get a 16oz container for less than that)
Onion rings $11
1 slice of French toast almost $8 (cmon it's a piece of bread dipped in egg)
Bacon (probably 2 strips) $5
Kids cup of strawberries and banana $7 ( I bought 2 16oz containers of strawberries and a bunch of bananas for $5 and had a bowl of cut up fruit for 3 days just from one container)
1 egg $3( you probably get an entire box of 100 count for $15)
Small orange juice $7 (probably the 12oz size)
Quesadilla $17
Slice of pie $5 (which is reasonable considering the time it takes to make it unless it's store bought and frozen) (but charging $1.50 for one scoop of ice cream? Really?)
Nobody's food is that good to pay that much.
I would charge half that price and still make a profit.

I ordered a medium steak and got a very rare steak. I told waitress, she was lovely about it but when she asked the cook/owner gentleman for a new steak he got upset and said no and just walked back into the kitchen with out even looking at the steak in question.

We had a large group with one waitress. She did an amazing job serving everyone. The food was good with reasonable portion sizes. It drives me crazy when restaurants serve more than one can eat ending up wasting food.

Dali's did not add a surcharge (mandatory tip) for a large group like most restaurants. Another thing that drives me crazy.

A group of us from out of town found this place on Google. Stopped by at 7:45am, the sign says they open at 7am, the "open" sign in the window was lit up, but the doors were locked. There were 2 people inside, that saw us at the door, but ignored us. We knocked on the door thinking maybe they just forgot to unlock the door, and they finally made a signal that they weren't open, couldn't even come to the door. We ended up going to Manitowoc Coffee, just a block away, and it was really good. So I guess it worked out!

The atmosphere is still the best breakfast option in the area. The Eggs Portobello was delicious and a nice Benedict option. No waiting for a table at 9am on a Sunday. No hesitation on coming back again

Went here for Mother’s Day weekend. Waited to be seated for 30 minutes (standing without being acknowledged). Took around 20 minutes for someone to get our order and about an hour and a half to get our food. All of the food was cold, the sausage links were charred, the hash browns were undercooked, and the butter wasn’t melted on to the bread. We assumed that the waitress prioritized getting other people’s orders and forgot about us, the only time the waitress checked in on us was when she poured coffee which happened a total of 3 times. The food wasn’t even listed on the receipt, just the total.

Came to celebrate birthday with a friend who also had a birthday the same day. Took 15 minutes to get water and 30 minutes before we could place order. Was an hour before we got our meal. I ordered a chimichanga dinner and both the bread and the rice with black beans was moldy. The rice was also hard and dried as if it had been reheated. There was only 1 server that day which also happened on another occasion for a long wait. We had to get up and refill our own coffee because she was so busy we could not get her attention. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone for the price they charged and the time they make you wait and the quality of the food. Not a great birthday.

If you want to start your morning with a peaceful ambiance, beautiful architecture, and a great breakfast I highly suggest Dali's Cafe.
I was immediately seated once stepping though the door and received excellent service throughout my visit.
While waiting for my food to arrive a calm cheerful melody could be heard and my eyes wandered around the room admiring the style and design of this relaxing morning get away.
When my food arrived, I ordered the country fried steak, I was pleasantly surprised with the gracious serving size of not only the steak but the sides as well. As for tast, the dish was a mouth watering joy of perfection.

Went to dali's for breakfast. I really wanted to like this place as some reviews claim that it is the best breakfast in Manitowoc. The dining room is beautiful, and the two pancakes I ate (for $8) were okay. That is where the nice things I have to say about my experience stops. Our service was lacking of any attention. We we rushed in answering our order. To the point of not being able to say what we wanted as far as modifications went. Never checked in with us at any point of our meal. Food was over and undercooked as far as what different things you tried. Most of the food had no flavor. And for what I was charged for our meal I felt like I could had saved $50 and made breakfast myself at home. I will not be back.

Was in town for a weekend getaway. Was told the Dali Cafe had the best breakfast in Manitowoc. We walked in and the restaurant was gorgeous. We walked in first however the couple behind us was seated immediately. We waited a few minutes and then was reluctantly seated. As we walked to our table we were stared at by the few people that were there. Our server walked past us several times and didn't greet us. She had two other tables that were well into their meals. So busy it was not. She finally came over to us and asked what we wanted. No greeting, or introduction just an abrupt request for our order. Our food came rather quickly. It was okay, but definitely not the best. We weren't checked on during our meal. Didn't receive a single refill. When we went to pay the young woman didn't say a word or look at us. I got the distinct impression we weren't welcomed. The sign Whites Only definitely hung on their door in the past, and the spirit of it is still alive at the Dali Cafe.

Such a pleasant surprise! Great atmosphere. Good breakfast. Friendly wait staff. I like the decor and tall ceilings. Soft piano music is a nice touch. A sign on the window says: For those in need we invite you inside for a cup of soup and a breadstick.

Every meal I have tried so far has been delicious. The chicken fried steak and eggs is great. And their home fries are cut up cubes of perfectly seasoned, crispy potatoes. A must try. They are fantastic. Great atmosphere and bright, comfy. Fast, friendly service. Chef is rocking the kitchen. Great prices. Must dine here. Nice variety on the menu and daily specials. I tried the Greek Gyro Omelet the other day....wow! 😋 Also try the Carmel Pecan Turtle stuffed French Toast. Yum.

Very great food! I got the gyro and it was phenomenal! My partner got the monte Cristo, that was also very good! Fries were very large, not always a bad thing, just took me by surprise.

It is a beautiful Cafe, the food was closer to horrible then ok I had the Ruban which I would have to say was the most horrible Ruban I have ever had, my husband had the beef stir fry which he said left a burnt taste in his mouth. Also, when offered chicken noodle soup I was not given it till, she came back with the check which I took it to go. The service seemed cold and unfriendly. No one came to check to see if we were even enjoying the food or I could have asked for soup with my meal.

Usually visit once a week for breakfast. Food is great, ambiance is unique (especially in Manitowoc where dark bar ambiance is the norm). Good place for a leisurely breakfast and conversation. Weekends are busy and service can get slow. Weekdays are perfect. Staff is friendly and coffee keeps coming!

This is my new favorite place to eat, and I plan to go weekly. Everything from the food, lighting and atmosphere is straight out of a movie, I have never been so relaxed in a restaurant. Their breakfast is incredible and if you're looking for an amazing brunch you're in the right place.
