We went to the Dalles House restaurant to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary on Saturday evening. I have always loved going there. We shared a delicious bottle of wine and both ordered the king cut prime rib with salads for starters and sides of popovers, au gratin potatoes and fresh asparagus with bearnaise sauce. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was cooked perfectly and it came very quickly. Such a beautiful dinner and the flavor was to die for! I cannot tell you how much I love this place! I will never tire of going there. We had Brandy Alexanders for dessert and they tasted sooo good. I highly recommend the Dalles House to anyone looking for good, high quality food, reasonable and fair pricing a fun atmosphere with friendly and genuinely nice staff and a beautiful setting overlooking a gorgeous courtyard. The best part is all of the food we got to take home with us to enjoy another delicious meal! Thanks to everyone who made our evening such a wonderful and memorable success.

The great service started during the phone call to make a reservation. The host (later identified as Ross) was extremely forthright and helpful. They were busy and the earliest dining room reservation was for 8PM, but Ross told me we were more than welcome to come to the Lounge at any time and the entire menu is available there as well. We arrived around 7:30 and were told our table would be ready at 8... it was. In the meantime we ordered drinks at the bar where Adam made us the best Dirty Martini's we've had in a long time. The great service continued when we were sat and our server Christian introduced himself. His knowledge of the menu and what was and wasn't available on that occasion and time, was very helpful. His recommendations were spot on. I had the Duck and my wife had a Filet, and both were fantastic.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for the service alone, but they crushed it with the food as well.
Ross, Adam, and Christian all clearly care about putting their best foot forward and represent the establishment very well... all of them should be commended.

Been coming here for years for the Sunday buffet. Every visit has been a fantastic experience with great food and even better service. Top that off with all the little details. I love the vibe here very chill spot with friendly workers! Me and my boys stopped here to eat and everything was so good! The food was amazing. Great for dinners, but the lunches are overpriced and not good. I ordered chicken tenders, and they were the size of 4 McDonald nuggets and seemed very much like the same texture at $16.99. This place is a hidden gem. Outstanding food, Service and it’s beautiful. We were in Taylors Falls, which is just across the river for three nights and we ate at this restaurant twice. I recently had supper there with a friend that is confined to a wheelchair and is also almost completely blind. The friendly Host greeted and seated us with a smile, then Camran took over as our server. He quickly picked up on my friend's blindness and began describing things without being asked. *Applause* We were checked on several times, but not pestered, a delicate balance that is rare. My husband and I have been searching for the perfect supper club experience, and finally found it last weekend at Dalles House! Ross is the perfect host who brings classic maitre d energy to his job with enthusiasm rarely seen in this era. Our server, Christian, lived up to his name and treated us like family. Bartenders and other staff clearly love their jobs and are trained to perfection. The food was top notch (enjoyed a perfect steak, beef medallions and sea food accoutrements). The boozy ice cream drinks are supper club perfect—and we even got the “secret” off menu options. Atmosphere is mid-century modern glorious, with a lovely courtyard and attached bar perfect for an after-dinner game of cards. We are bringing our friends and family to experience Dalles House with us soon!

Best supper club in the area! We had great customer service from the moment we walked through the door through our entire meal. They were able to handle small children well and there were multiple other families with children who seemed to be getting by pleasantly as well. Food was on higher end for cost, but to be expected for such a venue and quality was very good. There was a bar also attached to the supper club with live music going on, so will definitely have to try that out the next time we are in the area.

The Dalles house, what can I say that probably hasn't been said before. Here we go, my family and I spent the day at interstate Park which was a beautiful day. When we left we decided to try the Dalles house. Have driven past it many a times in the past. This was the day we finally stopped in and let me tell you I'm sad that I haven't stopped before upon walking in the concierge provided a wonderful greeting very warm and friendly made us feel like old friends. And the service was excellent we spoke to many of the employees and they where all friendly the food was exceptionally delicious the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Since my family and I go to interstate Park often we shall be returning the staff that worked on May 3rd 2025 was excellent and I tip my hat for the excellent service and food

We stopped in for a drink during a long weekend stay in St Croix Falls and met Christian and Sonya at the bar. We were welcomed like family and were impressed by their genuine kindness. We'd already made reservations for the following night for dinner, and Christian (who was managing that day) made sure to seat us in his section. The staff, food and service were exceptional! We were seated quickly and ordered right away. I ordered the signature black cherry old fashioned, which was, hands down, the tastiest old fashioned I've ever had! We decided to go with the fried calamari as an appetizer because it's one of our favorites. It was lightly breaded, perfectly fried, tender, and served with a cream sauce that had a nice kick to it. We also enjoyed the popovers and dinner salad, which included carrots, cucumber, red onions, croutons and delicious homemade dressing. I would definitely recommend the blue cheese, although the French dressing was also good and had a unique and unexpected spicet o it. My main course included the twin lobster tails (Oh he** to the YES) and the asparagus with a delicate hollendaise sauce that didn't overpower the asparagus. The pictures I saw online didn't do it justice! The lobster was tender and cooked to perfection. Seriously, my friends, if this were my last meal on Earth, I'd die a happy woman. Thanks to all of the hardworking employees (and to the bartenders who rocked it too)! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! Reserve a table!! :0)

I went here with my wife to celebrate getting married a couple days prior and we had the most amazing experience. The food and drinks were awesome. We loved the fresh popovers with turtle cheesecake butter and the black cherry old fashioned was very tasty. I had the duck a la orange which was very rich and flavorful and my wife had the coconut crusted walleye special, which we really enjoyed as well.

What really made our experience was the people though. Everyone we talked to was smiling and we received amazing service. On a Monday night no less! Our waitress, Quincy was really good and we really enjoyed talking with the manager Christian when he stopped by to see how we were enjoying everything. After dinner, we decided to have a couple of ice cream drinks in the lounge and talked with Adam the bartender after he made us our grasshopper and brandy Alexander. Both drinks were really good, and he was a fun guy to talk to.

The atmosphere in the lounge/bar and the restaurant were different but we liked both a lot. It was totally worth stopping by. We had so much fun and have already been telling everyone we know about how good it was.

I had to come from New Hampshire all the way to Wisconsin to remember what authentic exceptional service truly like! I had a great pleasure of visiting the Dalles house tonight in Saint Croix, Falls, Wisconsin.
I would come back to this dinner club just so I could be in the capable service of Russ Gabrick ! From the time you walked through the doors to the time, Russ seats you your experience has started with a tantalizing description of a great meal you will have at the dinner club. The food was so fresh and exceptional, and our weight staff was attentive and extremely pleasant.
I’ve traveled the world and I’ve eaten at many fine restaurants this one ranks right up there but the service and how you were left feeling when you leave is better than when you walk through the door !

We enjoyed dinner here on New Year's Eve before heading to Miracle at Big Rock. The food was excellent, and the service was WAY beyond expectations.

When I made the reservation, I told them my 2 and 5 year old grandkids would be there, we'd need a high chair, the kids would be opening a few Christmas gifts, and I asked to be seated in a corner (if possible).

When we arrived, the Host (maybe the owner?) was super friendly and welcoming. He saw the kids and said, "You must be the Scheel family!" He escorted us to the last dining room, I think it's called the French room, which was empty. We arrived right at 4pm, so we were the first table seated there. Our party of five was given a table for six, which we very much appreciated.

We ordered appetizers, the kids opened their gifts and explored the dining room, hugged the life-sized Santa, jumped down the couple of steps and basically got to be squirrelly kids until their food arrived. The kids' food was served first, which we appreciated so much. It was well-timed too, as a few other tables were seated about the same time. The kids were able to work their wiggles out while we had the room to ourselves, without disturbing any other patrons.

We so VERY MUCH APPRECIATED this seating arrangement. The service was exceptional (Christian was our server), and all of the food, even the kid's menu, was delicious.

This was a somewhat last minute reservation. I made a reservation the day prior as an alternative to having an after Christmas celebration at our house, because Grandpa wasn't feeling well. He suggested that I meet the kids/grandkids for dinner at Dalles House. So sad he couldn't join us, but so thankful Dalles House was able to accommodate our late reservation.

We were greatly disappointed. First off they ran out of soup and asparagus. Husband ordered a king cut prime rib medium rare. He was served a very small cut that was medium and very chewyand extremely fatty. I ordered the pan fried walleye and it was littered with bones. Then to top it off the men's restroom was disgusting, just hoping the cooks have their own restroom. Two glasses of wine does not make up for an anticipated evening of fine dining.

One of our many visits last Friday night. My clam chowder was great and so was my house steak, perfectly cooked and a good Manhattan. My wife always has the duck and not sure what happened to her favorite meal but it was a different cut of duck, not the old one with the thigh and leg and the sauce runny with a bit of orange color. Not the old sauce either. Service was a bit rushed. The table next to us ven asked the wait staff to make sure their entrees weren't going to be out before the salad was done. That’s when things got weird.

Absolutely wonderful! We came for the first time! The atmosphere is very elegant, beautiful, and the music is certainly the cherry on top! The food and service are fantastic! Seriously couldn't ask for any better! 10/10 recommend for dates, celebrations, and even a night out with the family!

This was our first visit to Dalles House and we were not disappointed! The ambiance, the music, the staff, and oh my the food! Everything was more than I was expecting. Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! We will be back; it’ll probably be a new tradition to come from the cities. I love the classic supper club vibe and the decor is stunning. Sparkly ceilings, retro sconces, beautiful wallpaper, and those wine velvet chairs! The staff were all so welcoming and friendly and especially our server Christian, he gave us some really nice recommendations. The food was unique, fresh, and delicious! Do not miss out on this fabulous place! Oh, and try the fun drinks too.

Wonderful dining experience!
They started us with their scrumptious popovers. I choose the broiled walleye, along with a salad with blueberry vinaigrette and garlic mashed potaoes. It was delightful!

On 10/13/24 stopped for the first time with 3 others, 2 younger guys had hamburgers and they said they where over cooked, I had twin lobster tails with baked potato, lobster tails where tough and baked potatoes was tough like over microwaved and the gf chicken and broccoli had burt pieces in it and couldn't be eaten, they comped $20 of the $28 because she eat the side salad, first time there and will never go again, for the price it was one of the worst meals I have had, had to remind them we ordered a appetizer and the food took was slow to get to the table

My wife and I stopped here when we were staying nearby for her birthday, and we're really glad we did. We drove by on our way to interstate park and decided to stop because of how cool the outside of the building looked. It turns out, the interior has an awesome art deco style - which my wife and I both love.

This place really hit a lot of nostalgic feelings for both of us, and it just seems like a type of restaurant that isn't really around anymore. The food was incredible - I rarely order burgers at restaurants these days, but their bison burger was phenomenal. They brought out a cinnamon-dill cream cheese with my sweet potato fries, and while I thought it was a weird combination at first, it really did taste great.

We had a few old fashioneds with our meal, because Wisconsin, but these were definitely among the better old fashioneds I have ever had. We also had a bread pudding for dessert, and it was very, very good.

Our server was great - I wish I could remember her name to shout her out specifically - and a number of staff stopped to chat with us about our newborn daughter. It was just a really, really great experience start to finish. I'd definitely come back if we pass this way again.

The recent remodel of the dining room is great, unfortunately they haven't yet replaced or redone the chairs which look frankly really dirty. When my fiancé sat down he sunk into the chair and was sitting pretty low to the table. There was still a really bad smell as we walked through the bar (smelled last year when we came here - combination of musty/mold and something else I can't identify but it's bad) so we opted to go into the dining area.
There is a lot of potential for the outside water area to be a year round visual showcase but it needs a lot of work.
Despite these things the food is great which is why they are busy. I'm hoping they continue updates to bring it back to a true fine dining/supper club atmosphere.

The only thing bad was the pepper grinder. No matter how we tried only slight flakes came out. My husband loves pepper. The waitress did no better.

Sometimes Wisconsin supper clubs feel very dated but this really felt like both a step back in time but also up to date.

Don’t eat here in the afternoon! The waitstaff vacuums the carpet between lunch and dinner. I had to move my feet to avoid being hit by the vacuum when the space under my chair was cleaned. Otherwise our party of six had a lovely time. View of the patio outside was beautiful.

Outstanding. Who would think that you would find this kind of food and service on the edge of a wild river? We had the meat soup, which was a Swedish recipe. Absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed the vegetarian mix of peppers beans and loved it.

Took over an hour and fifteen minutes to get a couple of hamburgers at the bar. (Sunday at 8 PM.) They were good though, but we were starving by the time they finally came. Bartender was nice enough, but seemed a little bothered by us being there. Haha. He didn’t really check on us at all, and I had to get his attention to order another round of drinks and get the bill etc, as he wasn’t paying attention to us whatsoever. Decent place, maybe just an off night?

If it allowed half stars I would give 3.5. We tired it for the first time and it was ok. The food was standard food you get at a supper club I remember back when I was a kid. But for the price it just didn’t hit. We arrived early. During check in and after being paged it was just a weird check in not really greeted seemed to be just a bother. They were busy so we brushed it off. Server was friendly. She checked on us off and on. Maybe a little less then is normal but didn’t mind. Everything we ordered took too long to get. Drink was left on the sever counter for 15 mins didn’t see server while waiting to follow up. We kept being told our food would be up in a few mins. It took over an hour for 2 steaks and 3 “jumbo” shrimp. When the food came the shrimp was not jumbo. And it was just ok. For the price they charge honestly the food was not worth it. When you charge almost $50 for a meal every thing should be on point. Not just be ok. If we had not had to wait over an hour for our food I would give it a 4. Overall not horrible just not great either.

Easily the best food in this area. A must definite for date night or any celebration.Any sauce or side was made in house down to the blueberry butter for the table bread. We were in town for a wedding but something tells me there's not a bad item on the menu. The locally sourced white cheddar cheese curds are like a marriage of funnel cake and a traditional mozzarella cheese stick.

The filet in the Beef Tournedos was cooked perfectly which is a feat considering that small pieces of filet are easy to over cook. The macadamia encrusted mahi was also excellent. Adam was our outstanding server. The atmosphere is that of a classic supper club down to red velvet seating. If I'm ever back in the area I would probably eat there every night.

Overall, would recommend coming here during lunch menu. Their mock tail is a mush try, can’t go wrong with any of the options for mock tail. (Price listed on review was for 2 people during lunch menu)

We came to the Dalles house for both lunch and dinner over the span of two days. I would recommend coming here for their lunch menu as it is more affordable. We spent nearly twice the price for two dinner sets compared to two main dishes.

For lunch: we ordered the chicken Alfredo and the dalles house burger as main dishes, and the cheese curd for starter. Their cheese curd were delicious. The chicken breast in the chicken Alfredo were nicely cooked, and the pasta soaked up all the flavors in the Alfredo sauce. The dalles house burger was great too! Burger was juice and had a good flavor.

As for the dinner, come here starving, as their dinner is a full 3 course dinner, including a soup, puff over and the main dish. The puff over wasn’t as flavorful as I imagined. Not a big fan of their steak and pan fried fish. I got a better baked potato at Longhorn steakhouse, and tells you something.

Anyways, recommend to come here during lunch menu.

The service here at the bar is nonexistent. I walked in and sat there for 15 minutes with 5 people sitting at the bar. The bartender proceded to wash cups instead of grabbing me a drink. Not to mention, most of the bartenders here have very poor attitudes. I will tell friends and family about this and will never spend another dollar in this terribly managed establishment. If you work in the service industry at least be nice to the customers.

Dalles House was a nice happenstance find on our way back to the Twin Cities from Taylor’s Falls. Service was great, food was exceptional, atmosphere was kitschy- retro, art deco and 1960’s mixture.

House made sauces, great steak, great seafood, quality tastes, delicious cocktails. We can’t wait bring some friends here. Make a trip out when you visit Osceola or Taylors Falls.
