Having had our boat in Washburn for a number of years, it has always been our goal to visit Dalous. We had heard so many good things about their pizza.

The stars finally aligned and we were able to get there when they were open and we were so craving pizza and they did not disappoint. Their wood fire pizza is absolutely delicious. Though the place may be small, the staff is very friendly, the atmostphere cozy and above all, the food delicious.

Definitely recommend stopping here!

I came to Dalou’s highly recommended by my lodging host. I think the problem arose that the young girl at the counter taking orders and seating guests had not been trained in how to deal with a solo customer. All tables were occupied when I arrived but soon a 4 top table became available. She seated me outside on the highway at a table and I implicitly asked to be seated inside or on the patio when a table became available. Mentioning the 4 top had just been vacated. In the meantime several larger groups got seated at the vacated tables without any recognition that I was waiting alone outside. She brought my salad outside and I asked why I hadn’t been seated at the vacated table and she said the other guests were anxiously waiting. Needless to say I blew my top and was eventually seated inside. Solo travelers must be discriminated against at this restaurant. In addition it seems in WI it is typical to be served on paper plates with either plastic or paper cups and no service. Not my idea of a dining experience. However, The salad was great and the pizza good enough but the overall experience not the best. Will probably never return.

My husband kept saying how good the pizza was. I had the panini with prosciutto and mozzarella which was great. They have a small selection of canned non alcoholic "drinks" which was nice. There aren't a lot of places to sit although they do have a small outdoor patio in the back which looked nice (it was occupied). It lives up to the good reviews and we'll be back next year.

Ordered a gluten free margarita pizza ($3 up-charge) for take out. Big mistake! After the 90min wait, got a severely burnt, yet somehow soggy thing with the least amount of cheese and sauce I'd ever experienced (applied with an eye dropper?) That's right: around 40% of the pizza was just bare, gummy crust.
I guess don't offer the gluten free option if it's going to be so god-awful (and super priced) 🤷🤷🤷

Good quality pizza here at Dalou’s here in Washburn, easily better than anything I’ve had up in this area recently. The crust is very very good, especially if you love the char taste which I absolutely do. Very good cheese and sauce balance I thought and for the price, very reasonable! Fantastic Mediterranean Bistro with Top Ingredients! Greek salad was made with perfect greens and exceptional Modina balsamic, sweet tomatoes, wonderful purple onions- truly a fine salad! Italian pannini did not disappoint with PERFECT ciabata- it was the best sandwich I've ever eaten, and I'm very particular about food quality, lol. In town on vacation, my wife and I ordered a jerk chicken pizza, margarita pizza, two small salads, and the peanut butter chocolate pie.

I grew up in Chicago, so I prefer deep-dish pizza and rarely rave about anything but, but these pizzas were very good. I think wood fire oven- baked pizzas are an acquired taste. The margarita pizza reveals its shortcomings. Basil’s flavor doesn’t really survive the wood-fire well. On the other hand, the Jerk chicken pizza was excellent: full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and very satisfying.

The highlight, though, was the house salads. They were perfect: really will-dressed with as vinaigrette type dressing that didn’t drench the lettuce or its onions, tomatoes, blue cheese, and whole almonds. It was really fresh and delicious

The restaurant, which has no dine-in option because of the pandemic, smelled wonderful when I walked in the door, and I was friendly greeted by the cashier.

All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Have had to stay in Washburn many times these past couple years for work. Don't like being away from home but always look forward to getting a meal (or two) from Dalou's. Usually save it for the last night so we have that to look forward to during the work week. They have great specials and keep a good selection of desserts on rotation to keep them fresh. In my opinion, you can't beat their pizzas- especially with the fresh mozzarella and house sausage.

They are carryout friendly which is also important in this day and age (which is why the current picture is less than ideal). A great place for out of towners like me and many locals frequent as well. Be sure to ask about the specials!

My aunt and uncle took us here for dinner. We got several different types of wood fire pizza and my favorite was trying the Fondidos. We got the smoked mozzarella with pesto, onion and served with a pizza puff. It's hot cheese that you can spoon in to pieces of the pizza puff ( just like a puffy pizza crust). Dalou's Bistro is an excellent choice for a night out. It has a wonderful staff and delicous food. Dalou's serves options from incredible wood fired pizza to gormet salads. Every thursday during the winter months, they serve delicous steaks. On tuesdays they provide an excellent deal. The 2 for 10$ deal allows you to purchase two cheese pizzas, a cheese pizza and a large house salad or two house salads. Dalou's also serves amazing desserts such as homeade gelato, cakes and pastries of all kinds. All though it is pricey, it is very classy and an ecellent decision for a night out.

We had the Caesar salad, which had a strong vinegar taste, there was only lettuce and grated cheese on top of the lettuce so this was noting fab and it was a bit odd tasking for a Caesar salad. We had a flaming cheese bowl which was cool to see and the bread was toasted great for dipping in the melted cheese, and we had a pizza, they only make one size of pizza and pizza is really all that is steadily on the menu. This had very little sauce, the sauce tasted almost liked a canned tomato smeared on the crust which too was not impressive. This is my favorite restaurant in the Ashland/Washburn area. It's quaint and sometimes does not have enough seating for everyone who wants to eat. We ate here 4/19/2014 while on an off-season weekend in Bayfield. We were checking out Houghton Falls, and it was recommended by some people we met while on our walk.

It was fantastic. The pizzas have cracker-thin, crispy crusts, and are just amazing. We had a pizza with house-made sausage, red sauce, onion, olives and mozzerella. Can't remember the name of it, but I recommend it.

The salads are super fresh and delicious, with perfect greens not soggy and wet but still nice and crisp, and their house red wine vinaigrette was wonderful.

My husband and I both enjoy healthy food but like to eat, and sharing a large house salad and a pizza was a perfect meal for 2.

We ended the meal with butter pecan gelato - also made in-house --- TO DIE FOR.

Oh, the service was top-notch. Our waitress was so cheerful and happy, it was just fun to be there for that reason alone! We could tell she really loves and stands behind their restaurant - it really showed.

I want to also mention that this restaurant features not one token N/A beer but TWO that are actually GOOD. Kaliber and a German one that I have had before but can't remember how to spell. We non-drinkers DO get really tired of having unhealthy soda, water (again) or iced tea (or fruity stuff that is always ALWAYS too sweet) every where we go. So that was a definite and HUGE plus as well!
