The Dancing Dragonfly will definitely be a destination for us once or twice a year from now on. Darla’s wine tour was a blast! Seems to me they need to pay attention to customer service at the counter. Stood there for quite some time being ignored. As customers walked up they got serviced.
Canceled my membership. The excuse was they were busy but strangely not at that end of the counter where I was waiting.

We were looking for something to do on a rainy day while camping in Hudson. This place was so worth the drive! Everyone was helpful and welcoming. Super annoyed, came to the Dancing Dragonfly Winery for some food after checking out the pottery around the area, was pretty much told not to order food, the wine service was terrible, they kept skipping over people that have been waiting for wine. I watch another person go to the counter they told the person it would be awhile for food, but they were able to order. It is Mother's day weekend, you should be planning for a big crowd! While in the Minneapolis area, we decided to venture across the state line and visit Wisconsin. While there, we found Dancing Dragonfly Winery and was very impressed. As someone that frequent the wineries in the North Georgia Mountains where I'm from, this was a very nice gem to find for some very good wine. No information was offered without inquisition and then it was minimal. We at 2 pieces of pizza and will see if we can a box to take home the rest and finish cooking. We had a wonderful time. Love the wine flights with pairings. The pairings that we had (one bite) was spot on. Flight of 5 wines were $20 and you keep the first wine glass in the flight.

Update: They no longer have reservations, but we liked it better. You order your wine and food and you pick the table you want. They have a new pager system that beeps and vibrates when your food is ready. You go pick up your food at a table now. Sunday is live music during the summer, highly recommended, nothing like a nice relaxing afternoon with a bottle of wine and some good music.

My wife and I visited this winery on June 6th, 2024. It had been ages since I had been in the Taylors Falls / St Croix Falls area. So we decided to stop at this winery for lunch. The building is beautiful, the winery grounds are peaceful and serene. The wines are excellent. But without a doubt, the food is the best of ANY winery that we have ever visited. I had the Ricky Ricardo sandwich and my wife had the Ginger Rogers. Both are Panini style sandwiches. And both were absolutely fantastic. If you want great food and great wine, this is your destination!

Wine was AMAZING! I’ll give them that. I didn’t try one I didn’t like! We bought a bottle and didn’t realize they were half the size of a regular bottle so that was a little bit of a let down to some degree but we were okay with it considering the high alcohol percentage and the quality! I was really disappointed in the landscape as there were lots of weeds that just needed to be pulled or at least trimmed. Staff was great, really enjoyed the atmosphere! We ordered a pizza and I was excited for it but it fell short with the lack of flavor. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The wine pairing was spot on though with the tasting we got! Tables were super wet, but to be fair it was on and off raining all day. I asked for some towels so could dry one off and was given some so that was nice but I was shocked they didn’t just take the initiative and do it for a guest who was spending the $ there. Just the little things that go a long way in my opinion. But overall, we enjoyed our time and would go again :)

We planned a multi-stop winery tour for a 40th birthday celebration and Dancing Dragonfly was the best stop on our tour. We scoped it out the day before and Darla was extremely helpful with explaining the options for our large group. We also tried the Ricky Riccardo sandwich (delish) and sampled some wines. The first thing my Husband and I noticed when we arrived is that the owner has a designated parking spot directly in front of the entrance. This seemed pretty pretentious, especially being that the handicapped parking space was further away from the entrance than the owner space. The staff was wonderful and very helpful, but the winery atmosphere itself is not intimate like other wineries we've visited. We were required to sit at an assigned table that was located in a conference style room with basic tables and chairs. This eliminated being able to interact with the staff and talk about the wine, which is the whole purpose of visiting a winery. We were not allowed to choose our own flights which was disappointing. The prices were also not listed on the menu. Overall, it felt like a very corporate experience. We've been to Chateau St Croix Winery many times as well as others throughout the US and Niagara Falls. We have always had wonderful encounters. Despite the wine being decent at Dancing Dragonfly, we will not return and will choose to invest in other local wineries like Chateau who truly value customer experience.

We won two tickets to an Art at the Winery night in a silent auction and absolutely loved the whole experience! The staff was super accommodating to us even though we'd forgotten to reserve our spot and got stuck in traffic on the way there.

The event was SO fun and we were amazed at how well we could paint! The wines we tried were delicious, the bruschetta and baked goat cheese we ordered were very tasty, and the staff was so friendly and helpful! The building is beautiful and has nice seating areas as well as lots of fun merchandise and bottled wines you can buy.

We will definitely come back again!

Stopped by here on a rainy October Friday in the afternoon. Beautiful building and grounds.

Typically I like to do a wine flight at a new winery and when I heard they were $22 I decided against that. A bartender explained that the flight consisted of 6x 1 Oz pours. They don’t have prices listed on the wine menu, so just be wary of that before ordering a flight. $15 would be pushing it, but $22 is pretty exorbitant even if you get to keep your wine glass.

The flatbread pizza we for was good, but the baked Parmesan was a bit of a let down. Kind of a bit rubbery and lacked flavor if not for the honey drizzled on top. They could cut the portion on the baked Parmesan cheese and it would still be more than enough for two people and the price could be lowered a bit.

If I was in the area again, I might come back. But I’d order a single glass of Cabernet again as that was reasonably priced at $7 a glass and get another flatbread pizza. Both of those were really good!

Finally got back here for wine tasting and some food. It was unfortunate to need to make a reservation as the website indicates, although since it was a Saturday, I understand it can get busy. So I had to choose a time, inside or outside and deli or full menu. Not knowing which was which, I indicated full menu so we could try what ever we wanted.
The environment is nice with a tasting bar, separate room with tables, patio and a gift shop. We were disappointed to learn that the tasting was a pre-determined flight of either red, white, sweet or dry wines. And we couldn’t stand at the tasting bar, we had to take it to our table. They do bring a small tray of pairings for the wines which is a nice touch. But in doing it this way, no one explains the wines so we didn’t learn anything about what we were trying.
We also had to go to the tasting bar to order food which was then delivered to our table. The pizzas were really good. And we tried the baked goat cheese which didn’t seem like goat cheese but tasted good.
Overall, I gave it a 4, could have been a 3, because the wines and food are good, the environment is nice but it lacks something to make it special.

Haven't been here in a few years. Thought we'd try it again but realized we aren't missing anything amazing. Thought the curated pairings would be fun. Got a red and white flight, $43 for two flights with tiny pairings. They brought out herring with the with flight for the ballet, no thanks. The pairings were not vegetarian friendly at all. There are so many possible pairing options, why herring? Why roast beef? I'd appreciate more transparency on prices as well. The wine menu didn't have prices. The prices are listed on a separate menu which seems odd to have a separate list. We were better off just buying single glasses of wine versus the flight. Overall, the wines are decent but unfortunately I wouldn't go out of my way to make another trip out here.

Dancing Dragonfly has been a favorite of mine for years and we've finally made it to a tour with Lisa! What a great way to start off a birthday weekend. Lisa has been a staple when we visit and remembers my name, which I haven't decided if that's good or bad.. haha!

Wow! What a delight! Take a beautiful drive past beautiful St. Croix Falls in the beautiful country and get rewarded with a lovely winery amongst the scenic hills of the St. Croix River valley. Great access, big parking lot (convenient handicap parking). Beautiful vineyards and grounds. They make wine on site! Phenomenal selection. Nice gift shop. Patio dining and inside dining. Clean including lovely bathrooms. Wine flights are stellar! Great selection of food for a winery, special pizzas, sandwiches, charcuterie, snacks, etc. Was greeted by Darla who helped explain the wine and pairings, as well as the food. She is proud of where she works and her enthusiasm shows. Great customer service. Can't wait to go here in the summer or take in a comedy show or event. You will not be disappointed coming here for an afternoon or evening. Enjoy!

Dancing Dragonfly Winery is our favorite winery! I've been a wine club member for several years. We love the wine and the service. All of the servers are friendly and helpful. Gwen, Lex and Asia have great customer service skills and Lisa is an awesome manager!

We were just there for the Polar party and my friend and I decided to get the samples of wine. We got Lisa who is a wine gal there and she was FANTASTIC. She really knew her wine and made us a customers feel right at home. I highly recommend this winery, Lisa for helping you pick the right wine, and to try the Charleston white wine while you are there.

Went on a Sunday afternoon for a wine tasting. I ended up doing the March sweet flight. Calypso and Tango were by far my favorites. The pairings went very well with the wines and the wines themselves were very good. We'll definitely be coming back.

Ordered the Bruschetta as I couldn't find a vegetarian entree on the menu. Extremely disappointed. Was basically 3 small slices of dry white toast with tomatoes and feta. Embarrassingly bad, especially for the price. Gave a healthy tip (you pay at the bar before you sit down). Aside from plate being brought to the table no service whatsoever. Definitely not worth the price or the trip.

We never got to taste the wine. We went the bar and were told we need a table to We needed to get a table to get a sampler flight. We went to the guy that gives out tables and we were told we didn't need a table. We went back to a different bartender ordered a flight and we were asked what table we were at. We said we don't have a table so the bartender ask the guy that gives table if we needed a table and he said yes we do need a table but it will be a few minutes. This the guy that told us less then a mi ute ago we didn't need a table. He also said he would try and fit us in. There was only one other couple there. I gave it two because the venue was beatiful.

Meh. Heard great reviews and finally decided to stop. Not really busy and not the best service. Got a tasting and it is supposed to be paired with little food bites. We got the wine and now we are waiting for the food bites. It's been over 30 min. We got our actual meals before the tasting plate. Not impressed at all. We have had to tell 3 different people that we are still waiting. No one seems to care.
Not sure I will drive back. I have been to a lot of wineries and this is by far the worst experience. I guess you go here for the wine, not service.

Did a shortlist tour of four area wineries today with a small group. Dancing Dragonfly wins the overall, and the best wine of the four - 2nd place for atmosphere. None of us like sweet wine, so we stuck to the drier ones with two flights, and a couple of other separate glasses / tastes. All the wines were good, which is surprising for these regional wineries. They are blending regional grape varieties with west coast grown classics, in some cases more of the latter - but using a lot of estate grown too. A couple of these wines were good enough to serve to (generally) discerning folks, and not have to qualify them as being regional wines. One very nice touch, and the first time in the area I have seen it, they pair all their flights with palate bites, which were all chosen very well. We also had a small plate to share. These were good but not enough to rate them on their food.

Staff is, in a word, outstanding. The view and the patio are spacious and very nice, interior space is fine but if you can, be outside at this place. If you are, like me, generally unimpressed with regional wine, give this place a shot. It isn't Italy or Napa but is probably about as good as it gets in these parts.

Until they get new front door staff, do NOT go here! We were on a girls vacation and were so excited to do the wine tasting, but when we walked in the front desk lady was super rude and condescending. There were all these rules for getting wine, where to stand etc. Then we learned it was $22 for a flight of wine, equaling one glass total. When I asked if a glass of wine cost $22 the woman looked appalled and said no you get a glass when the fight and a micro morsel of food. She's lagit called it that, liked it's a good thing. I have gone to many wine tasting and have never paid more than $15 for a flight. My friend had previously been here and was allowed to bring her glass in, and the woman looked absolutely mortified when we asked if we could do that. Needless to say we went to the Chateau. Delicious wine at great prices and very friendly staff! Oh, and to the person who wrote the review about the service dog, go to the chateau they have lots of dogs service and non update: AND at the chateau, I ran into a person who had just been at Dancing Dragonfly and have the exact same experience as us with the very rude front lady. We were so bothered, we are making sure to tell everybody, including a vendor near where we are staying who said it is good to know so she won't send people that way. Work on customer service!

This is my very first negative review ever ... Zero stars for the horrific experience . Attempted to send a few bottles of wine to someone who was going through a very stressful time ...First, they required ID and sig in order for the wine to be delivered, so it was not delivered as nobody was aware of it and was not home, the next day , the person stayed home all day waiting for the wine as the requirement was to sign and show an ID, the wine was never delivered...and it was never delivered . Checked with UPS, and was told " the order was undeliverable "; the winery staff was wishy washy blaming UPS - wasted so much time over several days trying to address it with the winery , and no solution , it was implied like it was my problem somehow; not only embarrassing - what was mean to be a nice gesture turned into more stress for the receiver, who never got the wine, but also such a waste of time and money for me - I was totally dismissed and never got the reimbursement or any other solution. The staff refused to provide owner's information , and told me to wait for the managers' call , but he was too busy all day sitting in the meetings as I was told - absolutely disgusting , the motto "We are Passionate about Great Wine! " does not extent to the passion for customers, bordering on fraud .... Enjoy my money, dancing dragonfly , karma is a female dog

Nice winery with a great setting, especially in the warmer months. The wine is pretty good made mostly with grapes they grow. A flight comes with a tasting tray that compliments each wine. Plus you get to take a glass home with you. Flatbread with their different types of dips are a great compliment. Try the Asiago arugula dip, it is delicious 😋! If you are making a day trip to Taylor's Falls or St. Croix Falls swing by the Dancing Dragon Fly for a glass or 2 of wine.

Went for a art night at the winery which was a gift for my birthday. Food and wine were very good but the art class which was a paint and macrame was quite disappointing. Very cute project that was going along nicely till we got to the macrame when we found that the "instructor" did not know how to do macrame. I think an example made by the instructor on display would have been great! Maybe if she had made it prior to class she would've known the rope that she cut wasn't long enough🤦 or that the pieces needed to be put back in the exact spot you took them out of before you painted them. Also maybe give each person a print out of the instructions. Saving grace she gave us rope to take home to finish/fix our project. Definitely needs to be better prepared.

We had a great time at the winery while on a road trip from Baltimore. We enjoyed several paired wine tastings and brought home several bottles of wine to Maryland. The only disappointment was the pizza that we had for lunch. It reminded me of frozen pizza from the supermarket.

I have been to the winery four times. Once for a simple appetizer plate and some wine, that was good. Twice to buy some wine. That was good. But on Saturday 10/9 we had a reservation for 4 at 3PM. We made the reservation at least a week in advance. When we arrived, we saw a long line. The reservation just put us at the back of the long line! An hour later we grabbed two bottles of wine, ordered our food and proceeded to our table. At a little before 5PM we still didn't have our food and the staff person told us they had a party of 10 coming at 5PM and needed our table. A little frustrated, we said - no problem - we'll move to a picnic table. The other party came, and didn't even use our table! Then the food started coming, but it all came at different times. We just ate it as it came because it was already getting cold. I ended up biting into a plastic bread tie in my sandwich (which was refunded), but overall, this was a very disappointing visit. I thought about giving 2 stars because we have enjoy the winery in the past, but a couple of things should change - IMO. When someone makes a reservation at 3PM and it is busy there should be a reservation line to the bar. I had the sense most of the people in front of us we walk-ins. If not, then it would be nice to prioritize the food of parties with reservations so you don't need to ask them to move to another table when the next reservation comes in. This was a truly disappointing visit to the winery on a beautiful fall day, and I don't think the couple we brought with us will make a special trip any time soon.
