Awesome little hole in the wall in downtown Waukesha. Classic greasy spoon breakfast joint with tons of options and a big counter with a few booths. I don’t normally write reviews but this was deserved.

We go to Dave’s maybe every 6-8 weeks, when we have time after dropping our daughter off - food is always very good and we have had the same, very pleasant server the last 3 times.

Yesterday we were in and I ordered the western omelet, NO CHEESE and it came out with cheese. It took about 8 or 10 minutes for her to come back, at which time, my other half was almost done with her food.

I hadn’t eaten more than a few bites until I realized the cheese so I just asked her to please take it off the check. She apologized several times, asked me to allow her to remake it, but I said it was okay, just please take it off.

When the check was delivered to the table, it came with a fresh omelet to go, NO CHARGE and NO CHEESE. I ate it for breakfast this morning and it was wonderful.

This wasn’t necessary but it was super awesome of them and even though I would have gone back, now I will go out of my way to go back because they went out of their way to make the situation right.

Thank you for great service, a thing many establishments have seemed to forget.

We ordered a Mexican omelette which was authentic and very tasty. It was served very hot as though it was immediately taken off the griddle and brought to our table.

The waitress was alone, however, her service was the absolute best! She literally ran the entire time we were there, however, never seemed rushed or overwhelmed.

Only thing that's a problem is the cook himself, he doesn't wash his hands and he doesn't wear gloves at all, I watch him touch money, touch the register, touch food, and started cooking without washing his hands or putting gloves on, it was horrible , and nobody says nothing at all, and he's rubbing his hands on the apron that he wears while cooking, I guess he calls that cleaning his hands. I took my friend Melinda here to eat out for a special occasion. The waitress was very rude to both me and my friend.
The waitress with dark brown/ black hair and glasses insinuated multiple times "how are you going to pay for this?"
The waitress gave me ugly looks the entire time. She came to our table several times and told us to "hurry up, I need to serve paying customers," after our food had only been on our table for 2 minutes.

The waitress kept yelling at me and my friend Melinda in such a disrespectful manner that the entire restaurant gauked in disgust.
This made my friend Melinda choke down her food and made her sick to her stomach. So asked for the bill.

Paid in 40 dollars cash. The waitress refused to give me my change. ($7.20)

I did not want to argue, as I came to this restaurant for a review and a good experience.
Not the atrocious experience I had.

As a christian, a woman, as a food critic and as goth person in the alternative community; I do not reccomend this restaurant. 🚫

It is not appropriate for friends, get togethers, family or after church lunch.

You will be judged accordingly by your appearance.

Take your business elsewhere.

The only positive thing I have to say is I throughly enjoyed their hot chocolate with whipped cream 👍

Worst experience ever!. I ordered 3 basic breakfast meals and was charged over $80 dollars: food was gross (burn potatoes, saggy pancakes, Watertown syrup). 15% taxation (I thought Wisconsin was around 5%). I do not mind paying that much for simple pancakes and omelets, if at least the qualify would be decent. I feel they even charged me for the glasses of water I didn’t ask for. Please avoid this place and save yourself of a terrible experience!

The place was dirty. Could use a good cleaning. Our booth was not cleaned properly. The waitress was very friendly. My chicken dumpling soup was so salty. I couldn’t eat it. My husband’s vegetable soup was OK. I also got the turkey and mashed potatoes. I believe the turkey was just deli turkey with some broth poured over it. The broth was just salt. Couldn’t eat that either. My husband got a ham and cheese sandwich. Nothing special about it. Again, plain old, deli ham, which was full of sodium. We tried, but will not be going back.

The ultimate "greasy spoon" in a good way. Filled with old world charm of the original diners, you can take a seat at the counter or at one of the handful of tables or booths. Give your order to the waitress with her smalltown charm, and then watch the cook prepare your food right behind the counter while enjoying a piping hot cup of coffee. I only had 20 minutes for breakfast. When I told them, they said "of course" they could do it. No attitude, just old-fashioned hospitality. Before I knew it, I was sipping a cup of coffee, and minutes later, a plate with two over easy eggs, ham, a generous portion of hash browns and two slices of dry white toast appeared, just as I ordered. Next time I go to Waukesha, I am going to skip breakfast at home so I can enjoy the food and the hospitality at Dave's.
