Food isn't anything special, but it's a nice place, and I'm happy they have non alcoholic cocktails.

This was an enjoyable dining experience. If you have a reservation, I would recommend getting here early to enjoy the speakeasy. Drinks and food in the speakeasy before 6 are discounted (time may vary depending on the season). The Dimber- Damber Dates appetizer was absolutely delicious! I had the walleye dinner and husband had the pork chop dinner, both were beautifully presented and equally delectable. The atmosphere is sophisticated but not pretentious. The restaurant is located in a beautifully reconstructed 1855 mansion.

LOVED this place for an anniversary dinner! Each course was phenomenal! Highly recommend the Boursin cheese appetizer! The speakeasy was a little short-staffed, so we didn't get timely service, but the drinks were good! My husband really liked the brandy old fashioned sweet!

We made a reservation for one of the private rooms but when we arrived with a large group of girls our reservation was disregarded and we were sat in the upstairs dinning room. Almost instantly we were reprimanded for being too loud but we were just talking and laughing. The real problem was the upstairs is so echoey so any conversation is going to get louder and louder!

Whatever sauce they’re adding to the mashed potatoes on that Chappie Chicken is incredible. It was sweet and savory. My boyfriend had the lobster mac, and similarly, absolutely incredible. Drinks and service were also fantastic. The real kicker though was the chocolate lava cake a la mode. I love food. I love chocolate. I eat both of those a fair bit. Biting into that cake almost made me cry. It was decadent and rich and sweet and perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever had a chocolate lava cake that good.

Food, cocktails, and service were excellent! Loved the Speak Easy, and the staff went above and beyond for our group of 8. They reserved seating in the Speakeasy before dinner and even provided the wine cave private room for our dining experience. I recommend the private room for a large group. The prime rib was also the best I've ever had, so I would definitely suggest it. :)

This is our new favorite spot in the Dells. The food is better than Ishnala and you can make reservations so no waiting for hours to eat. We actually tried Ishnala twice this year thinking it was just an off night. But nope we don't even go anymore. Dawn Manor has never disappointed. We've tried just about everything and my husband's favorite is the Prime Rib. I love the Harper pasta and their chicken breast dish. Their potato soup is the best. All their apps are phenomenal! Try it you won't be disappointed. The staff is always friendly and kind.

Speakeasy is beautiful and so cozy. Beautifully decorated. Nice bar. Great drinks and food. Mocktail was the best ever. Try the deviled eggs. Will be back. Upstairs dining rooms atmosphere is wonderful. Patio overlooking woods. Lots of parking.

We're used to stopping in the Dells and meeting our group at Ishnala, Del-bar or Embers. We decided to try Dawn Manor Restaurant, as we hadn't been there before.

The staff was able to seat us without reservations, which was nice. Service was fast - we had our first round of drinks and hors d'oeuvres in ten minutes.

The food came out about fifteen minutes later and looked amazing. The "Pile of Meat" dish was extraordinary! It was medium rare with an exceptional crust. The loaded potato that accompanied it was disappointing.

The American loaded meatloaf dish was a huge portion of loaf, pasta, veggies and mashed potatoes. The walleye was served with an incredible sauce that everyone loved.

Would definitely recommend Dawn Manor!

Disappointed they do not have a fish fry here on Friday nights. I thought this would be a requirement for a Wisconsin supper club but the steak I had was good but a tad overcooked. I ate it anyway and it had a good flavor. Au gratin potato side dish could have been cooked a bit more and was slightly cold. However the atmosphere is wonderful. The idea to rebuild the house from the ground up was a good one and this place is just starting out so I'm hoping that the food quality improves with time. Service was wonderful although the food came out really fast and we weren't even done with our salads when our food arrived. I would suggest the brussel sprouts appetizer. They were delicious and you get a lot of them to share.

Dawn Manor is an absolutely excellent dining experience! The service is top notch - the perfect balance of professional and friendly. We had a party of 6 and every single one of us loved our entree and the appetizers. The drinks were perfect, from the wine to the old fashioned cocktails, to the after dinner indulgences! The history here is also so interesting and adds to the vibe and atmosphere. 100% highly recommend and we would love to return sometime if we are in the area!

The dining experience started off a little rocky. Walked in and was not greeted as if we were welcome. That was made worse when we said we didn't have a reservation, even though they were not crowded. We were seated upstairs, just outside the Raab room and things improved from there. Kersten was our server, and though new, was very good and attentive. The drinks were good, the old fashion is better than the famous one down the street. We started with the deviled eggs and steak crostini. Both were very good, although the steak was little overcooked. We ordered the prime rib, walleye, meatloaf, burger and chicken. All the entrees were very good, although the chicken was dry and the au gratin potato side was not even warm. Overall, it was a great dining experience. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Other than the host, our experience was great and we will be back.

We discovered Uphoff's Rotunda Speakeasy on our final night in Wisconsin Dells...darnit! We would have definitely went there more than once had we found it sooner. Well mixed drinks, great service (thank you, Bruno!), and tasty shareables. Really a nice atmosphere overall.

The owner did respond, and I did receive a phone call from a new manager. He assured me that they were going to address the issues. Hopefully the next time our group is back in the Dells, we'll give them another chance. I'll keep you posted, but most likely will not be until next summer.
We had 2 experiences. The first time was 6 people the second was 3 people. The first time a fire alarm went off. My understanding is, there was a fire in the kitchen. The staff evacuated everyone to the parking lot. The fire dept. showed up, but there seemed to be no sense of urgency. I'm assuming the problem was minor. Unfortunately none of the staff or management walked around to inform guests what was going on. We gave up and went to Ishnala. (Great food and customer service). 2 Days later I went on the website & booked another reservation. I figured if they're taking reservations they must have solved the problem. I was WRONG! They greeted us at the door, seated us, brought us a sample of their dream soda and took our drink order. Then the waitress came back to take our food order. When we tried to order steaks (which all 3 or us were going to order) there was NO STEAK - This was do to the damage from the fire on Friday. I think this is something they should have informed us of, when making the reservation, or when they greeted us at the door, or BEFORE they took a drink order. Poor management all the way around. They offered us an oven roasted prime rib, instead of the steak. Sorry NOT the same. I have no desire for prime rib. Again, we got up & left this time we went to Fields (Great Food and customer service). We all agreed, we won't be returning. I hope they get better management in there.

Loved the bar and service was great. Chicken pie was not good. They say people rave about it but gravey looked like mashed potatoes or visa versa. No vegetables. Taste better than its appearance. Other meals were fine. Crabcakes very good

This is an extraordinary place, the service is exceptional, but the food is just ehh. I believe it's prepared with love but the chef season stuff with some very odd herbs or flavors or something. If you make a pot pie, let it taste like a pot pie; a really good one. I went back a second time and had the filet. The steak was cooked properly, but again they put a weird seasoning on it and just kind of threw the whole thing off.

Exceptional service, wonderful food, and an incredible atmosphere. I definitely recommend this restaurant. It can get a bit noisy with guests, but thats because people are having a great time. Oh and I think they serve a better Old Fashion than the place down the road.

We were there for brunch. Our food was fantastic. The service was not that great. There was a waitress who waited on the other two tables who seemed great and talked about the history of the home and the process of rebuilding. She seemed great. Our waiter did the bare minimum. I was a little disappointed in our cocktails. I expected more as far as presentation since they say they are a speakeasy. Maybe that is just me. The food, though, was outstanding. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and it was amazing!

Everything was superb. I took my family here on a whim because the supper club up the road was too busy and we made an excellent choice! We were seated outside right away and it couldn't have been more perfect! The food was amazing and it was a really special dinner. We thought the history of the place was really neat too!! Don't forget to checkout the speakeasy downstairs!!

First timers - brunch
Gorgeous place.
Very loud
Waiter was ok; not outstanding in any way.
Hard pressed to get condiments or coffee/water refills (and they were Not busy at all)
Food was excellent and price for what you got seemed very fair for the Dells.

The one thing that stood out to us was the snooty manager. We were excited to see it for the first time. He was almost rude when we asked if we could see the porch or the bar. He said the bar does not open until 3:30 and the porch has a private party! In reality, all we wanted to do was peak at the bar to see what it looked like and see the porch-supposedly it’s big draw “overlooking mirror lake.” Spoiler alert- it doesn’t. You can hear the water and if you squint hard enough you might get a glimpse of the damn at Timmes Mill, but it is NOT waterfront. He literally could not have cared less that we were local and had just spent a lot of money. There was a small party at the end of the porch, otherwise we helped ourselves and walked out there. He SHOULD have Excitedly Taken us on a tour! We would have recommended it to everyone we know! Instead, He single handedly turned us off and we may never go back it was so blatant. Shame. Ishnala may cost more, but it is real waterfront dining and the staff has ALWAYS been friendly!

We came for dinner for the first time on Friday night. We had reservations and were seated at the first table in the 1855 room. We sat with menus for ten minutes before we were greeted by our server. By that time we were ready to order even though we didn't even have a drink order in. The room was very bright with overhead recessed lighting and served as a highway for all the bussers, wait staff and people going to the bathroom. It was a noisy revolving door.

I ordered two appetizers as my meal instead of an entree and my partner ordered the meatloaf with mac and cheese. I asked the waitress to please bring my food out with the entree. 15 minutes later, just the steak crostinis were brought to the table as an appetizer. About 10 minutes later, the meatloaf and dates arrived. The dates were completely burnt and inedible. It took several more minutes before our server stopped by so I could show her. She immediately put in a new order. When the second attempt came out, they were still burnt, but I wasn't going to bother with it again. I was expecting the goat cheese to be tangy to offset the sweetness of the dates, but it ended up being sweetened goat cheese, so they were just complete sugar bombs and overly rich. The steak crostinis were good and we enjoyed the mac and cheese. The meatloaf was okay, it was a bit dry.

Overall, we would probably try Dawn Manner again, but it did not live up to the hype. For the atmosphere and quality of food, it was absolutely not worth the outrageous prices. The menu is unique for a restaurant in the Dells, which I appreciate, but the food execution and service still leave a lot to be desired. We walked around to the other rooms and they didn't seem that different to ours except the speakeasy downstairs.

We were there on a Wednesday evening for dinner.
Service between the speakeasy and the restaurant was very good.
The kitchen, however, was having an off night. My wife's 'medium' prime rib was the same as my medium rare.
When we asked to have it done a little more, it was obvious it had been scorched under the salamander. The potato and leek gratine which sounded interesting on the menu, showed up looking like it had been held too long on the lunch line.
If they intend to compete with the Del Bar and Ishnala, they've got a ways to go.

I made reservations here for my birthday after hearing rave reviews from friends so obviously my expectations were high. Maybe they were too high.
We arrived early and went to the "speakeasy" which we thought would be fun. Turns out its just a bar in the basement. It really should have a hidden door or something if they're going to call it a speakeasy. We sat at a table for about 15 minutes, no server came by and the lone bartender was too busy to even look up, so we went back upstairs to wait for our table.
The food was ok. Nothing special. Two people in our party had the chicken pot pie and said there was absolutely no flavor and one even asked for salt which still didn't help. I had the Airline chicken which was decent, I do have to say that the sauce on it was delicious. A couple of people had the meatloaf and said it was good, but nothing special. We asked for a dessert menu having seen the mini desserts on social media, we were excited to give those a try. They were sold out, at 7:30pm on a Saturday of a Holiday weekend... seems like poor planning.
Our server was lacking in general and once he bought us the check he never came back but passed by our table multiple times and seemingly intentionally avoided eye contact. There was no indication of how/where to pay, which would have been nice to know.

This restaurant is right by Ishnalas and between getting a seat there or dawn manor I may just choose dawn manor! My fiance and I got multiple things to share and try: Potato soup, wedge salad, Ribeye, “Big Boy” Lobster Mac, and cheese curds. Our drinks were the Bloody Mary, and a mixed vodka drink.

To start the food is excellent but the names are a-little “too fun” for some items and you might skip over unique items like the lobster Mac thinking portions will be smaller or food may be more generic things like a kids menu would provide. That said the soup was fantastic it’s very creamy and the perfect mix of flavors where you could probably skip ordering mashed potatoes if you wanted with your steak. The wait staff confirmed my fiancé’s preference on how her steak was cooked which I haven’t had a restaurant do before, she very much appreciated that. The wedge salad was a bit small compared to other places I’ve had them and the bacon bits (cubes) were very crispy which while a great texture doesn’t give the best flavor. That gets lost in my opinion. However I’d still order it again! The lobster Mac is must if you have a hankering for lobster. Every bite had a decent chunk of lobster in it despite on initial arrival it not looking like many pieces were in there. The portion for this was massive and more than fair. Next, the cheese curds, they were fair but Ive felt as though I’ve had them before. they're the type of curds where the cheese gets rubbery near the breading, some curds melt out of the breading, and some are solid in the center while others are stringy. Completely acceptable but not my ideal type. The drinks were good but nothing out of the ordinary, I would recommend this place asap if you’re looking for a nicer dinner experience.

This was our first time at this restaurant. This place has alot of potential l. Decor is pretty. The Speakeasy was cool. We stumbled upon their happy hour and drinks were good. We then got seated in the frank Lloyd Wright dining area. We were given the history of the place. Ambiance is important to me. The whole restaurant is really echoy and bright. If those things could be adjusted this place could be top notch.
Now for the food. I ordered the filet with a baked potato . The steak was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Chappie Chicken and it was wonderful. We were disappointed that a soup or salad along with a potato choice isn't offered with a dinner. Only 1 of those is included. For the price you pay for an entree I don't think that's too much to include. Will we be back?? Probably not unless they make a few changes.

Beautifully designed restaurant and a wonderful atmosphere. The speakeasy was gorgeous and outstanding drinks especially the espresso martini with a shot of Bailey’s at the bottom. Dinner was outstanding. Steak and pork chop were tender and juicy. The pork chop compote and demi glaze was the star of the show. The sweet corn crème brule was incredible. The corn flavor was subtle and not overpowering. Only complaint was no refill of waters and service was a little slow in main dining, but it didn’t over shadow the rest of the night.

Very unique place with an interesting back story. The food and service were both quite good and this restaurant could really be a top notch destination if not for the horrible acoustics and noise. We sat in the Raabe room (largest room there) and it was extremely loud. Think of a small cafeteria setting with lots of tables in close proximity all shouting to be heard by their fellow table mates. Everything in the enclosed room is hard, sound reflecting surfaces and we could barely hear anyone at our table of 6 without trying to shout over the din. We also stopped down in the speakeasy for a potential after dinner drink but that too was almost as loud so we left. They really need to add some acoustic, sound absorbing treatments to this place somehow. If we were to give it a second chance, we would insist on a different room for sure and even then, not sure if it would help.

This was our second visit to the restaurant. Our first experience had set the bar very high—Onur, even though he wasn’t our server, went out of his way to give us a personal tour, answer questions, and make us feel like valued guests. It left such a positive impression that we specifically asked for him this time, but unfortunately, he wasn’t working tonight.

We were seated in the Raab Room this time and our server was Alex. While polite, his overall presentation and professionalism did not reflect the standards of a fine dining establishment. Personal grooming is part of the guest experience, and his lack of detailed menu knowledge was surprising and a bit frustrating. When guests ask about dishes or recommendations, the server should be confident and well-informed.

What made it more disappointing was the lack of attentiveness throughout the evening. It was not a particularly busy night, yet we often felt forgotten. We waited long stretches without being checked on, and not once did a manager stop by to greet us or see how our evening was going. In fine dining, management presence is crucial—not just to solve problems, but to create a sense of hospitality. The absence of that was noticeable.

On the positive side, the Prime Rib was again outstanding—tender, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. The food remains a highlight of this restaurant, but the service needs to rise to the same level.

Overall, our evening was good, but not nearly as memorable as our first visit. We will return, but we sincerely hope to see improvements in both staff training and management engagement.

We were really hoping for a great experience, but what I would say is it was "just ok". The speakeasy in the basement was cozy: dimly lit, lots of seating, Old Fashions were good and their homemade "Dream" soda was good. The server was friendly. We had our 4 alcoholic drinks and he never came back. When we needed to go upstairs to eat, we tried to pay our bill but when we went up to the bar to the server, he said it wasn't him who we had to pay, fair enough. But we had to wait quite awhile to get someone to let us settle-up. It was almost $70 for 4 drinks which seemed quite high to me. Half of us had to go upstairs to be seated while the other 2 stayed down waiting to pay. We were taken to the top floor and it was SO loud. We could not hear the server or really each other. You had to basically shout to have a conversation. The server was very friendly though and the food came out very fast. The food: we ordered the horseradish deviled eggs, bacon- wrapped dates, and brussel sprouts. I will say, all 3 appetizers were good. The main entrees: Cheddar-stuffed meatloaf on bed of garlic mashed potatoes with veggies, covered in mac and cheese. This was the best dish of the 4. The meatloaf itself lacked in flavor but the mac and cheese, brown gravy made up for that and it was pretty good. The 2nd entree was prime rib with parmesan& leek au grautins. The prime rib had no real flavor and was tough, but it did come medium as requested. The potatoes were overdone and very dry. Third entree was ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes. Meat again was bland, but the garlic butter topping helped. Potatoes were good. Fourth entree was chicken Caesar salad and bowl of loaded baked potatoe soup. Again, the chicken just had no flavor but the Caesar dressing was good. The soup was good. Trying to give a fair and honest review . Overall, the food was decent but nothing really great and much lack of flavor in the meats. The atmosphere for eating was not at all relaxing on the top floor, maybe better on main floor? The lighting in the restaurant was very bright, could be dimmed a bit for ambiance. The only restrooms are in the basement and have to either take elevator or stairs and the women's bathroom had a pretty bad sewer smell. All of the staff were very friendly. The price point based on the quality of the food and atmosphere was high to me. I'm glad we tried it but probably won't be back. Maybe we'll try it again after they aren't so new and can work through some things.

We were really excited for our Friday night at Dawn Manor, and the evening started off great. The speakaesy atmosphere was unique, and the food was genuinely delicious—especially the Prime Rib and Walleye. However, the service was extremely disappointing.

We were seated in the 1855 room and our server, Lori, seemed constantly rushed and rarely checked on us. It took 15 minutes just to get water. The food, while tasty, arrived cold. We waited far too long for our drinks, and by the time my Brandy old Fashioned finally came, the ice had already melted. The manager ended up bringing our drinks, but even that interaction was unprofessional—she avoided eye contact, didn’t really listen, and quickly walked away. The staff looked like they don`t know what they are doing.

What began as a promising night turned frustrating. The lack of attention and poor service overshadowed the great food. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

This was my first trip to Dawn Manor. Saturday evening of our annual girls trip and this was certainly a highlight. Our server Onur was fabulous and made us feel welcome and special with a great sense of humor and excellent care.
The Brussel sprouts just GET THEM, they will not disappoint. I may just come back and have those for dinner! The dream soda at the beginning was also a nice touch. Not too sweet and smooth.
Our entree meals were very tasty. My 12oz prime rib was excellent, with great flavor. The au ju was super flavorful and not salty which most don’t seem to manage.
We decided to share dessert which was a molten lava cake. It was moist, warm and perfect size (smaller cup) versus some of the large desserts that you can get. My sister got a grasshopper that was also pretty amazing.
Lastly, the chef came out to talk with our table and share a little of their history and they are looking to serve the area with great food and service. While Ishnala is a great experience this is a wonderful option where you can reserve a table for a specific time.
Would certainly return and likely to come back with the hubby for a date night and those Brussel sprouts!

My wife and I were very excited to try this adorable location. The atmosphere and decor was excellent. Unfortunately, the steak that I ordered was not seasoned and was raw despite a significant char on one side of the fillet (ordered it medium rare). The potatoes were not seasoned and came out cold. My wife’s steak was also not seasoned and her potatoes also came cold. Not sure that I would recommend this place to anyone.

The drinks, food, and service were absolutely amazing! However, compared to similar nearby restaurants, it was a bit lacking. We would have liked so start with bread/cracker/relish basket. We were also disappointed that when we ordered our entrees, you pick either a potato OR veggie side, not both. So, while everything we had was delicious, it didn't seem quite as complete as other establishments.

A Memorable Dining Experience with Outstanding Shareables

I had the pleasure of dining at Dawn Manor Restaurant Bar and Speakeasy, and from the moment we sat down, it was clear this place knows how to make a lasting impression. Our server, Sasho, was nothing short of excellent, attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations. We decided to sit outside on the patio, which added a lovely vibe to our meal.

While the full menu looked fantastic, we couldn’t resist sticking to the shareables, and we’re so glad we did. Each dish was absolutely mouthwatering, to the point where we were too full to even consider moving on to the main courses. The *Dimber Damber Dates* (bacon-wrapped dates) were some of the best I’ve had, crispy on the outside with the perfect balance of sweet and savory on the inside. The crispy Brussels sprouts were another standout, perfectly caramelized with a bit of crunch that had us coming back for more.

But the real showstopper was the *Crostini Steak Bites*. These little bites of heaven melted in your mouth, with tender steak paired perfectly with sautéed onions and blue cheese. The combination was nothing short of amazing, rich, flavorful, and decadent in all the right ways.

Though we didn’t get the chance to explore more of the menu, it’s clear that Dawn Manor Restaurant Bar and Speakeasy knows how to deliver exceptional dishes. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by and treat yourself to the shareables, you won’t regret it!

Very high hopes for this majestical building we watched being built from the water. Food... ehhhhhhh, not worth going back. Let me call out the drinks. If you can't make a brandy old fashion sweet in the Dells hang it up. I got brandy, soda, and a spiked cherry and orange. No bitters, sugar, or muddle. Want and love to support local not big franchises, but wow, this was sad. We were sitting at the small bar and the conversation and inappropriate comments were sad. I was right next to the service bar. We will try again after the kinks are worked out. Locals understand it does take time!

A few days ago, we had dinner at Raab Dining, expecting a refined and enjoyable experience. Fortunately, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely — exactly what you’d hope for from a place like this.

Unfortunately, the service and management completely ruined the experience.

We were shocked to witness the behavior of one of the servers — a short woman with a bun (we unfortunately forgot her name) — who was clearly under the influence during her shift. This apparently wasn’t the first time, and it’s honestly beyond comprehension how a fine dining restaurant tolerates something that wouldn’t be accepted even at a fast food chain like McDonald’s.

Her service, attitude, and appearance were extremely unprofessional. Locals informed us that she has a personal connection (possibly friendly or more) with the manager, which may be why she continues to be protected despite such behavior.

We also heard from several nearby residents that the female manager — who apparently lives near Dawn Manor — is widely seen as unprofessional and more invested in protecting her favorites than in maintaining high standards. According to what we were told, her leadership has significantly hurt the restaurant’s image.

It’s a shame, because the place itself has so much potential. But based on this experience, I wouldn’t return — not because of the food, but because of the people running it.

Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. Interesting "opening treat" was soda (very unique idea). Orderd the Norwegian salmon, which was really great, but my partner orderd the Hail Cesar Salad which was in a word, sad. Mostly romaine with 6oz of dry overcooked chicken. The dessert we chose was a turtle sundae, which was two scoops of ice cream with caramel and chocolate drizzle a sprinkle of pecan and insignificant amount of berries. With the exception of the salmon, the meals were over priced and unsuccessful. Wait staff was friendly enough.

I took my mom to the speakeasy for apps and cocktails. The cocktails were well crafted and delicious. We had the bacon wrapped dates and the blue crab cakes. The bacon wrapped dates were some of the best I’ve ever had. The only thing that could’ve made them better was more balsamic reduction for dipping. The crabcakes were good, but personally we felt there was too much filler, a.k.a. bread. Would’ve liked to see them smaller with more crab. Our Server Bee was absolutely phenomenal. Extremely attentive with a big personality. We loved her. She even took the time to run out to the parking lot to give me my sunglasses which I left on the table.

This place has been a good addition to the local economy. Nice to have a selection in a tourist area. The pricing is high which is expected for a place like this. Our server (Dim) was OUTSTANDING. We ate at the Dawn Manor for the first time tonight and unfortunately, we were not impressed.

I wasn’t starving so I ordered a side salad and the crab cakes as my meal while my husband got the ribeye. My salad came out as ordered but my crab cakes were on delay (no big deal there). When I did get the crab cakes, I found them to be rather flavorless aside from the remoulade so I only ate one. My husband did enjoy his steak and had no complaints but said the ribeye he usually gets at nearby Cimaroli’s is better and you can get it cheaper.

After dinner, it took about 25 minutes to get our check and there were only 2 tables left on our floor when it was time to close out.

Our server was kind but only checked in once after we got our food. We even ended up closing our check with a different server so we could actually get out the door.

While I’ve had worse experiences in my life, I don’t think we will be back anytime soon given this one which is a bummer because it is a beautiful campus.

What can I say about Dawn Manor Restaurant, Bar & Speakeasy. JUST WOW!!!!! WOW! WOW! WOW!

Dawn Manor is a fine example of what a 5 star restaurant should be. It is just amazing. Fantastic. Delicious. Perfect. Awesome. Incredible.

We didn’t know about them before this trip. A good friend on my social media page recommended it. I just can’t say WOW enough and I’m so happy we stopped in. It’s hard to find any other restaurant in the area to compare to. Ishnala is the closest comparison and I think Dawn Manor wins. Especially because we only had to wait 3 minutes to be seated. Our wait time was amazing too. They have the most comfortable chairs to wait in.

To start off, they are promoting their Dream Soda, so they serve you complementary tastings. I can tell you that it is beyond dreamy. It is AMAZING! It’s hard to describe the flavor. It reminds me of something that would be served in the Harry Potter movie. Mysterious. It kind of has a butterscotch flavor. But I can’t stand butterscotch and I’m head of feet for Dream Soda. There’s nothing else like it.

We had the potato soup. It was phenomenal. I didn’t know potato soup could be this good! But it can and Dawn Manor serves it. Then they go and top it off with burnt end bacon pieces and it makes it mind blowing. It put my famous potato soup to shame. So good.

We both had the prime rib with lobster tails. Their prime rib is on point. 5 star all of the way. So tender and juicy. The lobster tails were a good size. I’d say 5 oz if I had to guess. They were tender and juicy as well. Everything was cooked to perfection.

I tried the leek scallops which I was not a fan of but I ate them anyway.

Our service matched the food. Top notch. Ozan was our waiter. He did an amazing job taking care of us and we are very appreciative for the 10 star service.

The look of the place is incredible. I love the atmosphere. Next time I will spend more time walking around and appreciating the art and the building. I love history and Dawn Manor has a rich history.

Here’s a tidbit. In 1855 Abraham Vanderpoel, a friend of Abraham Lincoln and a signer of the Wisconsin Constitution, purchases land in the former city of Newport, Wisconsin, just a few miles from Mirror Lake and has Dawn Manor built with Potsdam sandstone.

From what I understand, there is a hidden speakeasy bar inside. I can’t wait to find it the next time we come. Make sure you take a look around when you are there. That’s my biggest recommendation when you visit. Explore while you are there.

We are thankful it was open on the holiday. PLEASE TRY DAWN MANOR!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

We recently celebrated a birthday at Dawn Manor in Wisconsin Dells and had an unforgettable dining experience. When we made our reservation, we requested one of their themed dining rooms. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we learned that the room wasn’t available. However, the General Manager, Bill, went above and beyond to make it right. He graciously placed us in the private Wine Cave, and from there, the evening only got better.

Our server, Katie, was absolutely incredible; knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about the menu. They offered thoughtful recommendations and guided us through their favorite dishes. Every plate was outstanding, beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly crafted with care.

The service throughout the evening was flawless, and to top it all off, Bill gave us a personal tour of the Manor after our meal. The attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and willingness to go the extra mile turned what could’ve been a disappointing start into one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had.

Step back in time to the mid 1800s this elegant house represents back in the day Wisconsin Dells. Great atmosphere filled with historic architecture. Very friendly staff and good food along with classic Wisconsin cocktails.

We recently held a company-wide management dinner for about 80 people at the newly opened Dawn Manor in Wisconsin Dells—and it was a truly memorable evening.

From start to finish, the staff were exemplary: professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our experience the best it could be. Every detail was handled with care, allowing our team to fully immerse in the evening without any distractions.

The food was exceptional—elegantly presented, delicious, and exceeding expectations in both quality and flavor. What made the night even more special were the stories shared by the owner and his wife. Hearing the rich history behind Dawn Manor and the passion that went into bringing it to life added a heartfelt, personal layer that resonated with our entire group.

If you're looking for a venue that combines impeccable service, outstanding cuisine, and a warm, historical touch, Dawn Manor is an absolute standout. Highly recommended for any large gathering or special event!

Great food, beautiful restaurant. Prime rib was delicious. The speak easy is nice, was not busy and lots of comfortable seating. The restaurant lighting was very bright, thats probably my only constructive comment. Otherwise, was a great evening and we will be back.

This was our first time to Dawn Manor. The minute you enter this restaurant you are immediately greeted with smiles and first class service. We arrived early enough to enjoy the speakeasy downstairs. This is a definite must to check out. The espresso Martini is delicious and the bar staff is very friendly.
Dinner was outstanding. Our part had three different entree’s, walleye, fillet, and meatloaf. Each was was presented and prepared excellent. We left saying we had experienced the best 5 star service with the drinks and food cooked and served perfectly. We will be back. Thanks to the entire staff.

It is unfortunate that the award winning chicken pot pie with”flaky “ was any but!
The manager said that if cooked again it would come out the same. Under cooked bottom and burn top I am sure did not win them the award. The cooking staff needs to taste the crust and figure out way they can not make it “flaky”

Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is gorgeous, elegant and perfect for anytime of day. The Speakeasy is a great way to start off the night with a drink and appetizer. I had the salmon and it was out of this world! So juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The hot honey drizzle made it dynamite!

Although we arrived early for our 5pm reservation, we were seated promptly. Our waiter, Jam, was attentive and provided outstanding service. We began our meal with the spiked dream soda, Steak Crostini, and shared the house salad, then proceeded to the Shrimp garlic pasta plate. A Grasshopper dessert rounded out our meal. Our dining experience, from being seated to finishing our meal, spanned 30-45 minutes. The service, atmosphere, and cuisine all exceeded our expectations, with Jam and the supporting staff providing exceptional service. On our next visit, we plan to try the salmon dish.

I really wanted to love Dawn Manor. Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin Dells, this charming new spot has all the makings of a great local gem: cozy ambiance, a creative menu, and some of the friendliest service I’ve experienced in a while. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting or the service.

Let’s start with the positives. The staff at Dawn Manor are incredibly warm and attentive. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed, and it’s clear they care about giving guests a good experience. The drink menu also had a fun twist—particularly the Dream Soda, which was surprisingly refreshing and one of the highlights of the night.

That said, the main issue here is the food—specifically, the lack of seasoning. The flavors were just flat. We ordered the potato-crusted walleye, a dish that sounded promising on paper but was executed with almost no flavor. There wasn’t even salt on the table to try and salvage it, which felt like a miss for a place serving dishes that really needed a flavor boost.

Next up was the meatloaf, served over mashed potatoes and topped with macaroni and cheese—a quirky combo that had potential. The textures were fine, and the dish was comforting in its own way, but once again, everything tasted under-seasoned and dull. It felt like they were holding back on flavor across the board, which is frustrating when the kitchen clearly has ideas worth exploring.

The cheese curds were decent—crispy, not too greasy, but still lacking the savory punch you expect from a Wisconsin classic. With such fierce cheese curd competition around here, being “just OK” doesn’t quite cut it.

Overall, Dawn Manor has a lot going for it—great service, a cozy atmosphere, and a menu that shows ambition. But until the kitchen gets more confident with seasoning and boldness, it’s hard to recommend the food wholeheartedly. I’ll be rooting for them, though, because with a few adjustments, this place could be a standout. Here’s hoping they find their flavor soon.

Must-Try Spot with History and Heart

We had a fantastic dinner here with our 13 year old boys. The setting is not only beautiful but also full of charm and history—it really added something special to the experience. We ate outside, and the view was stunning. The atmosphere was just right: relaxed, welcoming, and unique. The food was delicious, but the true standout was our waitress, Morgan. She was beyond great—warm, attentive, and made us feel completely taken care of. This place is a must try, especially if you appreciate great service, amazing food, in a memorable, historical setting. We’ll definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I went to Dawn Manor on our 1 year anniversary trip to the Dells on my mom’s recommendation. The food was amazing! For appetizers we shared the steak crostini (my favorite thing I ate on the entire trip) and the bacon wrapped dates. I don’t recommend getting the dates for a party of two though, because there’s 7 of them and I was absolutely done after 2. For our meals, I got the manor salad with salmon which was so fresh and the salmon was perfect. My boyfriend got the walleye and loved it. We went down to the speakeasy and I got an espresso martini, which was decent, for an after dinner drink. The service was fantastic and the general manager was so nice. He came up and said hi and then showed us around a bit when he found us looking through the different rooms. Overall, a great experience that I totally recommend to locals and visitors alike.
