Food is some of the best I have had. I don’t know how many times I’ve been here over the years - at least 25. Yes, it is that good. The people are fantastic as well. I would highly recommend stopping here.

Sadly I can't fully rate this diner. It was highly recommended by a friend as having excellent service and wonderful food. However it is now shut down and according to thier website, for sale. I'm sad I wasn't able to try them out but, from the outside it looked like a fun place. Should they reopen I'll definitely give it a go

You don't tip here! The price of the food maybe a little more than what you are used to but it is definitely worth it! Food is amazing! And way too much of it! Loved their sauces (meant to buy some for home and I forgot!)Everyone seems to really like their job, service is awesome! There may be a little bit of a wait if you bring people with you but I ate solo and got in in no time at all! Gorgeous views driving here. Usually food doesn't make my lists of places to go but I'm grateful it did this time!

Called a day prior to verify hours for the following day. Was advised the diner was open until 2:00. We’d had this place on our “must do” list for several years and were looking forward to it. Upon arrival (about 11:50) we were told they were closing at noon. I apologized indicating I had been told closing was at 2:00. She said something had come up for the owner causing the need to close earlier than planned, HOWEVER, she still did seat us. (There were many other patrons still inside.) Our server was the nicest young lady. We ordered quickly and everything was served timely. The food was amazing. I can honestly say it’s the best breakfast I’d had in years. At the end of our meal, we were approached asking if we’d like an extra helping of hash browns as they were extras waiting to be cooked up and no one to serve them to (yes, we accepted them!). At no time did anyone make us feel rushed or unwanted. Yes, the prices are higher than expected for a diner, but, this allows the workers to earn a living wage. And they will not accept tips. We will definitely visit here again should our travels take us near Delta. I highly recommend a visit!

We were there a couple of Thurs ago. Kind of a drive to get there and unfortunately it was raining so we had to sit in our car to wait for our spot at counter. But they actually walked out in the rain when our spot was ready!! Amazing staff! I wish we would have come for breakfast instead of lunch, more options. But it was a great experience!

Ate at the Delta Diner for a 2nd time and it was just as delicious as the first time! Cute old time diner. Love that they have games on picnic tables while you wait. It's great for family bonding and helps the time pass quickly during the long waits.

It's been years since we ate at Delta Diner, we loved it then and we loved it again. This time a new generation of our family got to enjoy it not only for breakfast but for the Sunday night get together, where the food was good, atmosphere really nice and the band great.

Loved eating at Delta Diner! Cute little diner that gets busy. Glad we were able to get in. Atmosphere is amazing, everyone who goes will love it. Our server was incredible, knew the menu really well. I had the PBLT which is a Perch, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato. It was soooo good. The fries were also very crispy. Delicious meal. Highly recommend!!

This was my 3 attempt at coming here. Finally got to go in after a one hour drive, and the first and only thing to cashier said was, "we are not taking any more people today."
No attempt at asking if we would come back. No mind you it was 10:30 am. I knew they were only open from 7 - 1
But come on. Not worth my drive.

Terrible customer service. We drove an hour only to get turned away an hour before close with multiple tables available.
We asked to sit outside, they refused and said they don’t have outside seating and they were waiting on people. I didn’t see anyone waiting so I asked where these people are and the lady replied rude and snobby probably sitting in their cars with their air conditioning on. We were told to go get coffee and ice cream next door instead.
We only ended up getting seated because we used their restroom pointed out just how many tables were empty. The older lady then hesitated to clean off a table for us nearly 30 minutes after we originally asked to be seated.
We’ve eaten here before, the food isn’t as great as you’d expect for the price. This will be our last visit.

Unfortunately, and it pains me to write this as I’m not much of a review person, however I can’t recommend Delta Diner after the brief experience my girl friend and I had. Decided this past Saturday would be a great day for a drive and stop at Delta Diner for late breakfast on our way to Madeline island from Eau Claire. I have always loved finding road side diners and making the drive to them for some great food. Well aware of the fact that the diner closed at 1 we made sure to show up early enough to not conflict with their closing time. As we parked and walked through the doors at 12:20 we were promptly greeted with a “we aren’t taking any more customers as we close at 1.” I was completely thrown off by the initial interaction and their response to a small party of two seeking to give them our business. Without any help to find anywhere else to sit down for a meal as there is minimal service out there we were left to find somewhere else to spend our money. Hopefully this isn’t a common business practice as I would hate to see another road side diner shut down. Never have I entered a restaurant that turned away customers that was on the better side of an hour away from close. I’m sure the food might be great on the other side of terrible customer service.

Enjoyed the drive to a very popular, out of the way, dining experience. There is another stone building that houses a coffee roaster and one can order their coffee drinks while waiting for a booth or place at the counter. Our party was a party of six, four of us were able to sit within a booth with two of our party sat at the counter. Take this into consideration if you have a party larger than four. During our trip there may have been only one waitress for the Diner. The Diner itself is a wonderfully renovated dining car and is limited in seating. It is efficiently run by the line cook/chef and respective staff. The waitress we had memorizes the breakfast menu and tells each party the intricacies of what is served. I like that one does not have to tip since the cost of the meals and merchandise covers the fair wage. The menus has great variety and also pays homage to the those that settled the local area. I ordered the Dutch baby and it did not disappoint.

Absolutely loved it. Happen to be in the area and came across Delta Diner. The food exceeded my expectations and service was great! The their “hot cakes” if you get a chance - such a unique option! The gentleman working the grilled actually dropped a little one off at our table as a sample - it such a nice gesture! We also had the Dutch baby and that was delightful. I will be headed back there tomorrow to try some more of their dishes because I couldn’t get enough!

We moved to the region last summer and we have been exploring the area looking for great food. Our search may be over, as we had one of the meals we ever had. We shared the stuffed blueberry mascarpone french toast and the Mexican Benny - both were out of this world and the sweet & spicy combination was perfect. We had a short wait at 11:30 on a Saturday in May, and I'm a huge fan of their no-tip policy. The prices reflect that they pay living wages to their employees, but the fantastic service and excellent food are worth every penny! I'm glad they are less than an hour away for us as we'll be frequent visitors.
Updated - visted again today - every but as good as our first trip but remembered to take pictures! I dream about Pedro's Mexican Benne, it is so very delicious 😋

LOVE IT!!! Adorable classic diner with incredible food in the middle of the Wisconsin North woods. I couldn't believe how good the food is, everything top quality and done just right. Real deal Norwegian pancakes with a pool of butter on top and the BEST maple syrup. Hash browns so crispy and perfect you could cry. French toast stuffed with marscapone! Delicious coffee! Homemade sauces! Jerk chicken omelette was fab, their bacon is thick cut, nothing is ordinary everything extraordinary. Value for quality is excellent and they don't even accept tips 😮 You will definitely have to wait to be seated, but you won't be sorry you did. Worth the drive and then some ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I knew the food was going to be 10/10 just by looking at the pics online, but the service was also top notch, a well-oiled machine for sure! Todd heard us talking about how we ordered all sweets and had no vehicle in which to try their hot sauces. He surprised us with a small side of hash and let me tell you: we are so glad we tried them. The jerk sauce is off the charts and we gladly took some home with us. Thanks for the FULL experience and hello from Kirk & Jill, our airbnb hosts!

We stopped in today and had an absolute blast of an experience. The owner and our waitress were so nice and friendly to chat with! With it being off season and a Monday, the atmosphere was surprisingly chill. We unexpectedly didn't even have to wait!
I had the Norweigan hot cakes (do not skip the jalopenos--so good!) and my husband had the stuffed hasbrowns with two eggs on top. Cannot say enough about how excellent the food was. Also the bacon and bread on the side were just as good as the main dishes. Treat yourself to some Mac N Cheese bites to start! We will 100% be back and cannot wait till next time!

What an exceptional experience we had at Delta Diner. Tucked into the Northwoods, we definitely had to seek out this dining experience, but it was certainly worth the drive. Since we visited in the office season the diner had limited hours, but with some planning ahead we were able to make sure they would be open when we hoped to visit. My husband and I enjoy supporting the local businesses, especially during the off season when business is naturally a bit slower. The diner atmosphere was perfect. It's cozy and intimate with barstools that allow you to watch the chef as he meticulously prepares each and every dish. The kitchen area is exceptionally clean and you can tell that all the staff take pride in the work that they do. Our food was amazing, especially the stuffed hash brown. We will definitely be visiting again, and trying for a Monday to see what their burgers are all about as they only have their burgers on Mondays!

We stopped at Delta Diner for a late breakfast on the first Monday they were open for the season, March 18th. Although, we UTV there often for the excellent outdoor bar/dining experience, it had been awhile since we dined in the restaurant. It was absolutely AMAZING!
The breakfast choices were outstanding: excellent variety, all flavor-filled, not your 'run-of-the-mill' cafe/diner breakfast options. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, taking their time to answer any questions on menu options, even offering samples of new food items coming this season. Oh, and how revolutionary - we paid our bill, expecting to add our tip as we always do - they do not accept tips - WOW! They obviously treat their staff well in order to eliminate this aspect of dining out. Their special homemade sauces and on location fresh roasted coffee for purchase was also a pleasant surprise. We cannot wait to go back!!

Called to check the hours. A recorded message said they were open. We arrive only to be told there is a 1 HOUR wait..... we looked around and saw half the tables empty and asked if we could sit at an empty table, get a coffee for each of the 5 of us, until we can order, and the hostess promptly responded with, "No, I'm sorry, we have reservations and people going to be arriving for all the tables for the next hour, so we can't accommodate you guys!"
Ok? We thought we would try this place out, but, I guess we never will......

Our server said "they raised their prices we get a good salary, I love working here." It is pricey $15 for fabulous eggs. We ordered stuffed waffles marscapone and something. and Pedro's eggs. We have been coming here for a number of years, in fact since they opened on a yearly bases. Always great food, great service. That hasn’t changed! A bit pricey but we are o.k. with that as we enjoy the environment. The year we arrived shortly after opening and told they were just getting started, and we’re told we needed to sit at counter or would have to wait 45 min. for a booth, which all were open but one was taken by two other guests. We contemplated leaving but stayed and ate at counter. I think they wanted to keep the booths open for a Larger than two in a party, but couldn’t they just as easy sit at counter if booths full? Just a bit unorthodox to us. When we left all the booths were open and other guest of two had to sit at counter. When we got in car to leave my wife noticed on the bill we were charged $ 1.75 for an extra small 1 once container of syrup for her stuffed French toast (which is very good). It was one of those small containers you get at Resturant’s with the plastic lid. Seriously Todd, seems like a $12 stuffed French Toast would come with enough syrup to start with then to over charge for extra seems over the top! Will we back, yes, just arrive after 9 AM if just the two of us and hope for a booth or after 8AM with more than two.

This is a old school dinner(made to look like a train car) atmosphere in the middle of the north woods of Wisconsin. Get there early and plan to wait. We waited an hour and it was not long after that I heard much longer times. There is a coffee shop right there too.

Excellent food. We definitely did not expect such high end food from the woods in Wisconsin. Expect a wait to get a table but they have picnic tables out with games as you wait. Will definitely be going back!

Wonderful family run diner with delicious food. It's obvious as soon as you walk in the door that the most important thing is creating a wonderful atmosphere for their customers

We've been to both the
Delta Diner and the TapShack. Both are essential stops when visiting the Chequamegon National Forest.

Stuffed French toast was amazing. Did not care for the German pancake though. The only thing I really didn't like was that they figure the tip into the cost of your food so you have no choice. Overall, it is worth checking out if you are in the area. Long wait to get in though. Almost an hour.

The signature Norwegian pancakes are so good. Some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Good spot if you're looking for good food in a small, diner setting. Expect a long wait if you arrive during peak times. (If you do have a wait, I recommend grabbing a caffeinated beverage from the little ice cream/cafe next door). Service was nice and coffee was good. Thanks for breakfast, Delta Diner!

Great and fun place to eat with extremely friendly staff. Interesting menu, and the food was outstanding. Plan on being there awhile because they are very busy. Length of time to get in and waiting for your food is a bit long, but that speaks highly to the business.

I had been coming here since the day the opened. Haven't made it back for 5 years or so and it is still absolutely top notch breakfast. A menu full of unique twists on breakfast classics.

Delta Diner is wonderful! Wonderful food! Wonderful staff! Wonderful place! It’s the place is the middle of nowhere that makes the middle of nowhere somewhere to be!
Delta diner asks patrons not to make tips…the decided years ago to pay their staff well with pay rates that are a fair living wage without depending on tips
The service was phenomenal!
And Parking is super easy

Wonderful diner with fantastic food. Try the Mexican Benny!!! Breakfast sandwich was amazing. Service was great - and keep in mind gratuity is included in all food prices. Prepare to wait a bit no matter when you go, but nice outdoor area to relax - but it's worth it!!

Delta Diner is one of the most unique and enjoyable diner experiences I have encountered. Tucked away in the Northern woods of Wisconsin, the diner rests rather unassuming along the roadway, the only indicator of it's potential the full parking lot with eager customers waiting in their vehicles for their chance to partake of the delicious food inside.
Once a spot has been secured, the experience whips to life, starting with a tour of the seasonal menu filled with creative, one-of-a-kind dishes, most of which revolving around breakfast.
The prices seem a bit high at first glance, but tips are not accepted and for the quality of the food, the cost is reasonable.
The array of options can stump an undecided first-timer, so it may be advisable to bring a friend or two and split dishes to maximize your ability to try the different options.
Given the small space, the smells, sounds, and even sights of the meal being prepared are prevalent, each adding to the anticipation in their own way.
Local ingredients, including local coffee, help to ground you in the area, and the service is superb.
Make sure you try the homemade hot sauces; though they won't really leave you burning, they all have their own flavor profiles and compliment the different dishes in their own way.
Definitely stop here if you get a chance. Worth it 💯.

We just love this place. Truly in the middle of nowhere, next to their ice cream shop with a great selection of coffee and teas!
Seating is limited in this nostalgic diner, where no tipping is allowed and the menu is verbal. It was at the end of the season but they had a TapShack in place, where they also serve Caribbean type of food, music and offer local craft beer. We will need to come back to take advantage of that.

The Delta Diner is a unique place. The menu is explained to you by the wait staff so you get a different experience and can ask questions. There isn’t tipping because they pay their staff a living wage. Yes the menu prices definitely reflect that but the food is absolutely delicious and worth the trip to find it. We would love to eat our way through the menu!

Delta was recommended to me by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint. Well worth the out of the way trip. The atmosphere is super cool, it has an old east coast diner feel which was very nostalgic. Staff was super friendly and attentive, food was delicious and interesting. I had a cheeseburger omelette which was a special that day. Tried one of their famous pancakes, very interesting and really good. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Food and service was fantastic. If I lived closer my grocery bill would be alot smaller. We will continue to go here when we're in the neighborhood. Prices are a little high but not terrible. We went for brunch and just had a light dinner the rest of the day so it evened out for sure. I saw a sign for ice cream next door but we were stuffed to the rafters. Definitely going to check that out next time.

We heard of this place by word of mouth. We were told it was a gem in the middle of nowhere... and that was an accurate description. The food was delicious, prices were good, and the restaurant was clean. Fun atmosphere, great food. It is worth it to go out of the way to dine here!
