For a chain restaurant, this Denny's food was very good. I had a chicken skillet dinner and salad. I enjoyed my meal very much. It was hot and more than enough. My husband had steak, potatoes, and salad. The portions were more than enough and we took leftovers with us. The service was prompt and attentive.

Literally the worst experience i have ever had at a restaurant- waited an hour before we got our two shakes (at the 45minute mark is when we were told they were out of one of the two flavors we ordered) then all we for was a sampler with just mozzarella sticks and fries. The fries were cold and so filled with grease we didnt eat half of them.. So in total we waited an hour and a half for two shakes and fries and motzereealla sticks thay were cold for almost $30.... never coming in here again

Normally I dont leave reviews but after spending $80 and horrible service, I thought I needed to. Took my family out for dinner on 10/2, when we arrived there were 3 other tables sat. One which looked to be finishing up. It looked to be 1 waitress, 1 cook and 1 I assume manager. We asked for apple juice for one of the kids, only to learn it was broken after the waitress walked away. She said they had lemonade, again only for it to not work. We then all had drinks, then waited for 10 minutes for her to take our order. We place the order, where I asked for crispy bacon, not burnt just crispy. We got our food, only for my bacon to be hardly cooked. NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. The hash browns were burnt on the outside and mushy on the inside. GROSS. I also didnt get my pancakes until everyone else's food was almost gone. We then finished and continued to sit there with no bill. Just went up to the counter to pay, only for them to not know what table number we were at, manager or waitress.

The manager (who I assume is the manager) was wearing a Marlboro baseball cap backwards.

The Chicken Fried Chicken was overcooked though, and the salad had some brown lettuce, yet I didn't complain, I ate what I wanted.

Was there over Cranfest weekend twice for dinner.
Had Alicea and Rome as waiter and waitress. Food was cooked perfect. Both of them hustled and attended to our needs promptly and with a smile. They worked very hard and smiled while doing it. It was a pleasure to eat there. If I could give 10 stars- they both deserved it. ❤️

The hostess was very nice. Food wasn't good. Must have a lazy cook. Club sandwiches weren't cut, no toothpicks in them, just left whole. Everything fell off sandwich in to go box. No silverware, or napkins to cut myself, and piece back together. Tipped the hostess for being so kind, said I didn't need receipt. Didn't really think u could screw up club sandwiches.....

Lunch was really good. Chicken Tenders & Fries, a full plate for $10!!! The environment was amazing. I would love to work here. They have a good, smooth flow. I had recently gone to a Denny's and it was amazing so when I saw this place I was excited. However, I had the opposite experience this time.

I waited for over 5 min to be seated even though 3 different servers saw me waiting to be seated. The service was so slow that the table next to me cancelled their order and left. I paid 4 bucks for my cup of coffee while I waited on my meal and had to ask for it to be refilled. Then the staff argued over who what's going to take on this laborious task.. and it never got filled again after that one.

The staff spent more time messing with the obviously new cooks and sending food back telling him to just put it back on its under cooked. And that didn't sound great but at least I expected my food would be good once I got it.

However, I was disappointed again, I didn't have all my stuff and it was not great quality. The hash browns were so overcooked they were dried out potato crisps. My lone meal was $22 bucks, for a cup of coffee and an omelette.

I would not recommend and would not go back. When I went to pay the lady even asked me how it was and I said not great and I my order was incorrect and she just said "well thanks for letting me know".

First walk stood at the counter for a couple of minutes. A worker came from outside still on her personal cell phone like it was an inconvenience that 4 people walked in. We got sat took about 10 minutes to even have a waiter come ask us for our drink order. We order our food I asked for a side of sausage links and only received 2 of 4 links.

...I had fun sitting here talking to the girls at the counter about how you make a poached egg which some college aged boys played out their fantasy of planning a heist in a Tarantino movie at another table. The French toast was fabulous, the rest of the meal an afterthought. Some nice military boys paid for my eggs when I asked them if our nation is secretly at war because they had so many of those giant canvas covered trucks and the news seems so surreal these days. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here. My standards for a truck stop Denny's on the way home from a camping trip were already fairly low, somehow, I still left disappointed and a little amazed at how truly terrible my kid's birthday breakfast could even be. I understand and acknowledge that we had a group of seven, and that can be a large group to have waltz in. Thankfully, they were not super busy, and it wasn't any issue. Our server to start was super friendly and great! We did really enjoy the one and a half interactions we had with her. Thirty minutes after ordering, she came by and gave us a much appreciated top up on drinks. We did not see her again. After a total of just over an hour and a half, we see the food coming out of the window! Hooray! And then very quickly it goes back into the kitchen, we hear some of the staff say they found mistakes. Oh well, mistakes happen and we're all human. This was a table of a family all in the service industry, we get it. I was making every excuse in the book because I really didn't want to complain during my kid's birthday. Then another twenty minutes goes by. Finally the food! Those of us that do get our food are met with room temperature food at best and the wildest textures I've ever experienced in a diner. I think the way in which the hashbrowns were made, may be the eighth wonder of the world. I made the mistake of ordering mine with cheese and onions on them. I have never seen hashbrowns be over and undercooked at the same time and then also be a grey color. When I tell you all of us that had hashbrowns would've had a better time trying to eat a literal bird's nest, I cannot say it any clearer. Then we move on to the kid's chocolate chip pancakes.... that were GREEN?? They weren't neon or anything just a sickly tint to them. The kids had ordered some scrambled eggs to take back to my dog. We left them behind because I do not hate my dog that much. We did our best to eat at least something of the food in front of us. When my grandfather died in the early morning and the entire family had to eat breakfast waiting for the coroner, I thought that would be the saddest breakfast of my life. I was so wrong. And now six out of seven of us are being held hostage to the bathrooms in our homes. If you want to get revenge on somebody, take them here.

I honestly wouldn't even give this place one star. It was horrible!! The food was so greasy, we had to mop the grease up with a napkin. Half the food was brought out then the other half was delivered 15 min later. Server tells us the cook is having a bad day. My son got broccoli with chz, they put extra chz on the Mac n chz instead of the broccoli. Waitress went to fix it and brings it out with chz not even melted. We ask for the manager. He comes out smelling like an ashtray. He tells us he will give us 20% off the bill and thats it. Turned around and walked away. Very unsatisfied! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Our food was disgusting. Our pancakes were scorched. We sent some back to be recooked and some did not eat them. The hashbrowns were burnt and sent one back to be cooked properly. The service was horrible. The waitress never came back to check on us after we politely asked if they could properly fix some of the food issues. We got no refills on the drinks. After getting our food served, I noticed the cooks scratching their hair and face with the same gloves they were preparing the food orders with. Never will go back!!

We stopped for breakfast around 11 am. We had a table of 9. The server acknowledged us and seemed nice, but then it took a while to get our order taken. He seemed a little busy, but I think we were his only table as only a few other customers came in and were waited on by other servers. We were not acknowledged anymore while we waited over 90 minutes for our food. We saw the staff dancing around in the back kitchen. Smiling and being silly. We also watched plates pile up and everyone else being served around us. We waited patiently. Finally, at 12:30 pm, I told the server to please bring out whatever food that was sitting under the heat lamp. About 5 plates have been sitting up there since around noon. So he finally brought the food!! A few plates at a time. The eggs were cold. The steak my daughter ordered was cold and tough. The broccoli ice cold. We found a hair in the hamburger that my daughter's friend ordered. All of our food was cold and stale looking. The pancakes were burnt black, but yet cold. The bacon wasn't even cooked and looked like it just came out the fridge. Soggy and cold. We weren't asked if we wanted refills of drinks. We weren't told anything while we waited 90 minutes. We weren't even looked at until I yelled to the server to bring whatever was under that heat lamp. The manager finally came over after I told the server most of our problems, and said he'd give us all a little discount, about 10% off the bill. While some of us still ate it, Half the food was still sitting on the table as we got up to leave. We were so hungry, and were left still hungry! Never again! This was the worst experience I ever had and my guests were very upset. We were on vacation and had many plans for the day that got ruined because of this place! Staff was just goofing around and some server stood up on the kitchen counter hovering over the food under the heat lamp, while she was trying to plug in their computer system. I just can't believe this place is even open!

My food was just a Cobb Salad and it was not even right. I also ordered Mozzarella Cheese Sticks and they were over done and served to me cold. Granted they took the Cheese Sticks off the bill for the trouble with my order, it was poorly served. The bacon that was suppose to be on the was served on a separate plate and was cold and mushy and not crispy as ordered and was sent back and got them back burnt and burnt grease. I would not recommend this Denny’s to my worst enemy.

I can’t say enough good things about the Denny’s in Tomah, Wisconsin! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The restaurant was incredibly clean, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was top-notch.

Our waitress was nice, but both she and the kitchen staff seemed very confused on what they were doing. This is the 4th and last time we will TRY to eat here. 3 previous times in the past 3 years we have tried, as I like Denny's, and each time it got worse unfortunately. We visit family in Tomah once a year and so eat out a bit. This time we were seated quite promptly, and the waitress brought our drinks straightway. I thought that things looked promising. That was the end of the good times. It was 10 minutes before she came back, because she and the other waitress were trying to explain things to the 2 cooks. Thats a troubling sign. When she returned, I asked her how long it was going to take to get dinner. She looked puzzled, and so I asked if the cooks were new. She answered to the affirmative. I said OK, I believe we will leave. She said she was sorry that they were busy, and this was not her regular shift. I looked at her and said....there are 4 tables here with guests, and 2 wait staff. Thats NOT busy. I paid for the drinks which she graciously comped and then left. The waitress was not at fault, at all times she was gracious and professional, and apologized several times. She was clearly frustrated and as with the previous visits, it's clear that it is a management problem. Labor is a problem in all industries these days, but yet we went to a competing restaurant, which was busier, and from the time we walked in the door, it was 12 minutes, and we had our dinners. Sad to see the decline of a business.

As mentioned in the reviews, the staff initially appeared unprofessional. We had to wait for three or more attempts at eye contact to get seated. However, the service quality improved significantly after that. The server was very polite, quickly took our order, and the food arrived in just 15 minutes. I understood the initial delay might have been due to the end of a shift, as the next server was extremely kind and enhanced our overall experience. The food was slightly oily, but the taste was fantastic. By the way, this was my first experience at Denny's in my 15 years in the USA! and it's good!

Terrible just bad. Cold food. Food cook to a crisp almost burnt. Pancakes flat and burnt. Steak is brown even when asked for medium. Just bad don't waste the time nor the money to come here!

I want to start by telling that my English is not fluent and the girl who was the waitress knew it from the beginning and spoke to me in a very slow and detailed way specifying each word which I find very kind, in some restaurants they don’t care and she was very good. I ordered this dish that was delicious, my hot coffee with good flavor, the delicious eggs my soft and good flavored pancakes, my chocolate drink was too top! I recommend this place and the experience was amazing. Travelers here I leave you a couple of photos, I couldn’t eat everything because it was full 😂🙏🏼 so I left you a good tip… thanks you Amanda 🫂

Food was terrible .
We ordered a burger off the kids menu for my son plain , as the waitress brought it to us she’s like I don’t know why they put all the veggies on there and still thought to bring it to us although we asked for it plain , I said can you take it back and remake it she came back in seconds I asked is that the same burger ? She replied no the cook just made it mean while the burger was cold .

My husband ordered a breakfast plater the hashbrowns peppers and onions were burnt . That was remade still was terrible ,

We ordered kids chocolate chip man cakes those were definitely over cooked .

We also ordered a T-bone steak is was very salty

Our servers name was Alex , she was nice but wasn’t super attentive and definitely should be looking at these plates before she decides to bring it to the table knowing they aren’t right .. waste of $70+

A wonderful afternoon. A great place to stop if you need to do just a little bit of work while traveling across Wisconsin. Amanda was perfect. Helped me find a tasty dinner and also gave me a table where I could make some calls without othering others. Fantastic WiFi then too.

Love the new menu. Amanda was training two new waitresses who never worked before. She was very good with the new girls; very kind, patient, respectful, and pleasant. She did a good job. This is coming from an old waitress with years of experience.

We were starving so we stopped at Denny’s, Alicea seated us down and she was very polite and she came to check up on us quite often, and her attitude is what all workplaces need! Very thankful for her.

We Stopped at the Tomah Wisconsin Denny's this morning for breakfast. They got us say down fast, they offered drinks they said coffee would be 2 or 3 minutes they were making a fesh batch. 10 minutes late I had to ask again about the coffee. We ordered out meal which took about 15 minutes, we finished and waited for our bill and waited and waited. A family of 4 came in and sat next to us they got there drinks and then waited over 20 minutes I asked the server to get them and we finally got our bill. I will never stop at another Denny's. I would drive a 100 miles to find somewhere else to eat.
