Maybe someone should call the Bar Rescue Guy... Went here for lunch and ordered the cod sandwich. I was expecting a nice fat and juicy cod fillet, but what came was 2 skinny fish sticks on a bun. There was garbage on the floor. It was awkwardly quiet so I asked if they had music, and I was told that there is a jukebox. But that didn't work either.

Me, my wife, and (now) our son go there on Sundays sometimes. We make the trip from Minneapolis because I can refill on spotted cow, cheap nicotine products, and real fireworks in Hudson. We stop at Dicks because it's our favorite spot to eat and get a drink while we are there. The food is great, the service is quick even when they are busy, the staff is awesome, and it's right by the river so we go check that out when we are done. You can't buy the bloody mary mix they use anywhere around so you have to go there and it's the best! Love this place - see you guys again soon.

Server or bartender, I don't know which one he was, was slow as molasses in January. He seemed eager to please, but didn't understand how to wait on tables. He took our order by shouting to us from the computer screen situated behind the front bar, but accessible from the main dining area. Huh? First time for everything, I guess. The food took forever, I mean probably 40 minutes. There was 1 other table with 2 people in the main dining room, & 1-2 people eating in the bar. Food (taco salad and club sandwich) was acceptable, when we FINALLY got it, but the craziness of the service was unacceptable, with the waiter flitting around from room to room, and doing basically nothing, to the way he took our order. It was just NUTS!

Drove from the cities with some friends who love this place for the cheap drinks and dive bar atmosphere. What we got was cheap drinks and front-row seats to a bouncer vs. bartender brawl, and unlike any other bar, the bartenders were three times the size of the bouncers. I would give it a -1 if it weren't for the second bartender, who was extremely nice and over-apologetic. I would only recommend it if Josh the asphalt guy is there or if you're just wanting a free fight night show. We promised we would come during the daytime when he is working, and I'll give a follow-up. This is the first review I've ever left or felt the need to leave. Good luck.

I met up with a friend at this place because I’ve never been here before. I got to say that it is the place I really like to be at it has good food that leaves your full and the environment is comfortable and inviting prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get, also while my friend and I were chatting everything they still checked on us made sure that we were served and taken care of. The staff are very attentive and very kind. I appreciate the entire staff and how we were treated through the whole experience I definitely will stop again to have another burger or even try one of their other dishes.

Had high hopes for this place but the food is sub par. The cook obviously shouldn’t be anywhere near a kitchen. I ordered my burger medium rare and got a burnt beef patty that was so well done, my dog didn’t even like it. Not to mention the bacon was burnt to a crisp as well. So many better options in Hudson.

Came in for breakfast. Not very busy when we arrived...only 3 tables with people in the dining room. Took 15 minutes for our server to arrive asking what we wanted for drinks. We gave both our drinks and breakfast orders. Pancakes were awesome. Eggs were prepared as requested but the American fries were disappointing...orange in color and seasoning was odd for our tastes. Ordered English muffin for a meal and only received one half of the muffin which was very odd Servers were very polite and friendly. The tables needed significant cleaning as well as the booths. Left saying we wouldn't visit again for a while.

It’s not a landmark but it’s somewhat of an establishment for Hudson, WI. If it’s busy it’s really busy and that’s not very busy in the summer. In the winter and spring there are days that’s full. Workers are nice. Patrons I would say mixed. Some nice so not so nice. The food can be decent based on who’s cooking on the back. Overall it’s worth visiting and getting a drink.

If you want fancy, this isn't the place. I wouldn't call it a dive, either. Unique is a more apt discription. Tables feature old board games and the ceiling has upsidedown tables with games. Kids coloring pictures are posted on the walls. Don't forget to look for Tina Tuna and her band.
On my most recent visit I had wings and frings (fries and onion rings)
Wings were piping hot, crispy, and spicy. Rings were just what onion rings should be - crispy outside with onion done to perfection inside. Fries were crispy and nicely brown.

Spouse liked the Cuban, but my 'BLT Wrap' was more like an 'LTB Wrap' (since it was mostly lettuce, almost no bacon, & no mayo or dressing). This bar left a bad taste in my mouth.
Went here with a large group on a Saturday morning, so we were cool with waiting for a table. We got seated after a short wait, but then sat for almost 30 minutes before a server even acknowledged us. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us got their drinks and had their food orders taken. When a server finally realized that we hadn't been helped, she begrudgingly took our order. Any request we made was met with attitude, and she couldn't even tell us what the breakfast special was. This is the first time I've ever felt bad about asking for water.
The food took over an hour to come out, which would have been fine if it was actually hot. Next time, I won't let my mom pick the restaurant.

2.5 hours to get food, and the service was horrible!!

Our party of 12 was seated, but never waited on. After 30 minutes of watching everyone else get seated and served, we finally cornered the manager and asked for help. She apologized and assigned us a waitress. The waitress took our food and drink order at the same time. 15 minutes later, we had our drinks (45 minutes after getting our table).

Here's the kicker, she never came back. We had to get up and go to the kitchen ourselves to get coffee and water refills. And our food wasn't served until just over 2 hours after we placed the order!!! Seriously, we were at our table for 2.5+ hours before our food arrived.

We thought we were getting slow service because we had a party of 12 and the kitchen was backed up. However we watched people come in, get seated, and get food.
