Our recent visit, unfortunately, did not live up to the wonderful experience we had nine years ago when we first dined here to celebrate our marriage. We returned for a late anniversary celebration, hopeful for the same great food and service we remembered—but sadly, this visit fell short.
We started with the spinach artichoke dip and ordered two sodas, followed by the surf and turf entrée with soup in place of salad. While our server was friendly, she was noticeably inattentive. The restaurant was not busy, with several open tables and what appeared to be plenty of staff, yet drink refills took an unreasonably long time—even after we asked.
The French onion soup lacked depth and flavor, and the main course was disappointing. Both steaks were ordered medium rare but arrived closer to well done. My husband found his lobster tail enjoyable, but mine was visibly undercooked. I sent it back, and when it returned, it looked like it had been microwaved—and was still not properly cooked. I asked that it be removed from the bill.
At that point, our server was nowhere to be found. It took another 20 minutes just to receive the check, making an already disappointing meal feel even more frustrating.
Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. It’s disappointing to spend time and money on what was meant to be a special occasion, only to leave feeling let down.

I really hate to complain, but I have to be honest, so the restaurant can make some changes and make the experience even better. First, the Prime Rib was extremely stringy, lots of tough stringy tendon in the steak, my knife had a hard time cutting through it, next the Prime Rib was way too salty. You gotta get that cook to lay off the salt shaker or whatever seasoning you’re using is too salty. Next get some potato rolls and ditch the hamburger buns for rolls. That cheapened the dinner. Our waitress was doing her best, but she’s young and inexperienced. She seemed easily overwhelmed. The last thing I would personally like to see or hear, play some music. Not loud but maybe some music will help quiet down all the loud chattering voices. I don’t go out to dinner to hear people complaining loudly about their personal lives.

Moved to Orfordville and found this to be the best food and service! Bartender is awesome and waitstaff is attentive and accommodating. Food is delicious. All prepared and presented well. This will be a regular spot for me, my family and friends!

Drinks: Husband says best old fashion he's had. Dirty Shirley was decent. Didn't have any drinks, including waters, until after our soups were finished.
Food:
All you can eat prime rib- tender. Juicy. Quick on the "refills". Good flavor.
Filet- inedible. Ordered medium rare. It came so overdone, I couldn't eat it. I have never sent food back, but the server asked if we needed anything and I said maybe a less done piece of meat. She said she'd check and came back with a new steak very quickly. Joke was on me... it was charred on the outside and raw on the inside. Also, inedible. We chose to not bring any of that home. $31 steak.
Baked French Onion Soup- we both finished our cups. The cheese was incredibly thick. Not either of our #1 in the BFO soup category, but edible!
Baked potato and cubed potatoes were both good, as well.
Return- nope. Recommend- nope. Service- very new girl. Sweet. Friendly. Brand new on the job and did a great job serving after getting those drinks out. Food, hard pass based on this experience.

Great food all around whether you dine in, carry out, or get catering to your event. My personal favorites are the cedar plank salmon and the bourbon glazed salmon. You can’t go wrong with their ribs either. Highly recommend heading to The Ding for your next get together!

Exceptional place for not being in a bigger town, I had prime rib "rare" and potatoes with French onion soup. Cheese cake and dbl chocolate moose to follow up. Took my parents out for dinner for supper tonight. It was my father's 71 birthday and he wanted all you can eat prime rib. Didn't know how it would be since it's been awhile since we visited. Food was amazing and the service was even better. Our waitress was a younger lady but was excellent. I would rate it higher than 5 stars if I could. Thank you for a lovely evening again after too long. The prim rib is the best around hands down.

I read mixed reviews but was looking forward to a NYE dinner with six of us. Traveled 30 minutes to give this place a try. Sadly we will never return. Prime ribs and steaks were way over cooked and over priced. Steak preparation is not a strong point here. Cod looked frozen from a bag, shrimp was good scallops were terrible, salads and bread etc. Hard to believe we just came on a bad night, this place is not supper club quality in our opinion. I will say the old fashions were great!

Food wasn't great. Party of 9 and most ordered steak or prime rib and all the meat was over cooked. So disappointing as we really wanted to like this place. Soup, appetizers, and the Old Fashions were great otherwise this would be a 2 star review. If you are looking for good steak or prime rib, look elsewhere.

My wife and I went here with our friends. Upon entering we were greeted and our names were placed on the reservation list. We sat at the bar for a drink which were very good pours. We sat at our table with in a half hour . We all ordered the different Friday fish fry options. I will say everything was well prepared, hot, and delicious. Potato pancakes were good also. The Ding a Ling is the best - hole in the wall supper club around! It reminds me of places my grandparents would take me when I was young.
The staff is friendly and efficient for a busy joint! No one makes a better - brandy old fashioned sour with fruit (tall of course). And the food - I've got same favs! French onion soup, hashbrowns and...Fish Fry Friday - lightly battered perch, Saturday - prime rib (I like it medium rare), Sunday - the chicken dumpling special (fried) is the best!
I take every opportunity I can to stop for a meal! Kyla is the most gracious owner :-)

Absolutely terrible, me and my wife got the surf and turf..what we got was a burnt piece of pot roast and some unseasoned lobster tail..for over $100! I'm not sure how this place has any more than 1 star reviews, one of the worst restaurants we have ever went to.

It seems like every time you respond to a comment about your establishment being a dump it's to tell people they need to "speak up!". I really don't think its your customers jobs to tell you how to cook food well or take care of their needs.

Our stop last night was The Ding-a-Ling in Orfordville. Haven’t been in years. Very Busy but the staff was efficient. We had one at the bar and we’re sat at a table. Very small but cozy venu. I had the lightly breaded Cod. Wife had the Poor Man’s Lobster(Broiled) both were tender and flakey. All the sides were super good. Especially the potato pancakes. Slaw was plentiful and tasty. Good boozy cocktails. We’ll be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My first visit to Wisconsin, and my first visit to a Supper club. The Ding-A-Ling was outstanding. Our waitress Jaden was amazing. The food was super fress and well prepared. The Old Fashion cocktails were 100% correct and the Grasshopper dessert was absolutely superb. We had dinner there on Friday 23 June 2023. Disappointed with our recent service. We got there early for our 5pm reservation, and we sat right down. After ordering, it took a bit to get our food, drinks, and our bill after the meal. We had asked another waitress but still no bill. Since it took a while, we got up and basically met the waitress up front where you pay at the bar.

Everything was ok, prime rib was edible but fatty, lobster tail was overcooked and luke warm as well as melted butter was cold. otherwise we didnt complain. well actually asked for sour old fashioneds and we got sweet. and we didnt complain, but what really sucked was my friend forgot his doggy bag and we just got to the door and he turned around and went back and they told him they threw it out, a half slab of ribs and half of a steak. who does that? at least keep for a few minutes to see if people will come back!

We love this place! Always great food - soups are magnificent, cheese curds are delicious, prime rib outstanding, baked potatoes out of this world (seriously - how? - but they are!) and the salmon simply divine. Had the perch was very disappointed. It was not fresh. Was prebreadeded frozen pieces of something burnt and dry. They should let you know it is not fresh before ordering.
$13.99 Per person for 3 pcs of leather fish. Had heard many good things about this place so we gave it a try. I may try again because I do not like to judge on 1 visit. Service was great.

Great Friday Fish Fry. The owner served our table herself they were so busy! Our waitress Bianca was our waitress. She came to our table so many times to make sure we were doing ok. Great service, Great Food. Just all around good atmosphere.
