Today me and my friend received raw burgers. Another got the wrong meal. We asked to get our burgers recooked we we’re
greeted with an attitude. When we got it back they were still overly rare and was the same patty. We ordered medium. When we addressed the waitresses attitude she was rude and we never saw her again. We also never were given refills or asked how we were doing. At the end we did get the burgers taken off because we physically could not eat them, the patties were bleeding.

Saturday Prime Rib!
Just had an amazing night out at Doc Kelly’s in Waupaca—one of the best spots in town for great vibes and fantastic food! The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Prime Rib Saturdays is absolute perfection—juicy, tender, perfectly seasoned. Generous portions at a great price, and it’s so good it disappears fast! Pair it with their good wine selection, and you’re set for an unforgettable meal. If you’re in Waupaca on a Saturday, Doc Kelly’s is a must-visit. Can’t wait to return! Highly recommend—10/10.

Marvin and I recently treated our daughter and her husband for a birthday dinner wanting to introduce them to this cozy restaurant and it's great food. Every time we've been there we've tried different options and always find them uniquely prepared. Always have had great service and are impressed that the owner takes the time to greet the tables. And....we love the atmosphere!

We’ve eaten here many times and it’s always wonderful. Last night one of the featured dishes was shrimp and grits. I’ve tried lots of shrimp and grits dishes when I lived in Atlanta for two years but last night’s dinner was absolutely amazing. The grits were the perfect amount of cheesy, the heat was perfect and the flavors, just amazing. I highly recommend if you are ever there and they have shrimp and grits on the menu!

The service was really slow 🐌 tonight, and we were overcharged for our entrees. We asked for butter for our mashed potatoes and were given melted butter, and it had a really weird taste to it.
We overheard the people next to us say they were not given a steak knife to cut their meat entree :(

Doc Kelly is absolutely delicious! Last time I tried the black and bleu cheese curds, beef stew, and fish and chips. Tonight my faves were the lamb stew, Jameson kissed BBQ ribs, and Irish soda bread! The service was attentive and very kind.

This was our first visit and we had a bit of a wait, which was expected, so we sat at the bar tits wait. The hostess was so nice, bartenders were great, drinks were good! When we were seated we had our menus for less than 5 minutes before the server came out and simply asked if we had enough time with the menus. She never introduced herself, while we were waiting for food she never checked in on us for drink refills, and when we did get our food she didn't check in to see if everything was ok. I don't know if she was having a rough night or what, but she left a pretty negative impression on us. We did wait a while for our food, but it was busy and the food was REALLY good!!

I don't write many reviews, but I have to give credit when credit is due. The experience we had last night was second to none. The food, beef tips and bangers and mash, were exceptional. The risotto balls appetizer amazing. Even the clam chowder was over the top. The coffee cake cheesecake was unlike any other, so good! Our server, Alexis, was very attentive and hospitable, and the owner checked in on us as well, which made the experience even more special. The price tag may have been a bit higher than we are used to, but as you just read, we had a rather large meal. The only reason I gave 4 stars on atmosphere, was because there was a chill in the air. We had a group of 10, had to wait a little bit but they put on the Badger game upstairs and ended up having a private dining room. They were out of a couple items but the food and service was great. A lot of favorite items from when it was T-Dubs and some new things too. The old fashions were great too! Highly recommend.

The food was amazing. The server dropped a tray of waters on our table and initially didn’t get splashed but the water was running all over our clothes and pants and we were fairly cold for the remainder of dinner. It didn’t bother us much at all and the server was very apologetic. However, we were pretty surprised they didn’t offer to comp our cocktails or appetizer, anything, they actually never mentioned spilling on us at all. The food was amazing though!

We appreciate good food and small portions...but we ordered the perch from the Friday special menu. There was one small butterfly of perch, just one. I honestly thought it was a mistake. I thought something fell off or it was a kids plate. Cheese curds were yummy! Hubby's glass was warm from the dishwasher so he didn't enjoy his cocktail. Now we know why the bar was empty at 5pm on a Friday. Probably won't return.

Bartenders and specialty drinks were awesome. Food was ok. Ahi tuna was supposed to be blackened, but was very bland. 2 people at our table of 6 were missing the shrimp on their pasta. The server had to bring the plates into the kitchen to prove to the cook she wasn't lying? I've been in the service industry for many years & have never had to prove to kitchen that the food was incorrect. Other issues during our meal, including a forgotten appetizer (cheese curds that were apparently burned the first time?), forgotten drinks, no bread on any of the pasta dishes. Then even though we told the server at the beginning that it was separate checks & who was on each one- they were still completely wrong & it took multiple times to get them right. I completely understand being understaffed and busy, so still gave 3 stars, but our experience was disappointing. I can say the atmosphere and decor were very nice though.

The pros….
Our waitress was extremely friendly and accommodating. The owner checked in on us during our meal. The drinks were well made. If you show up early you can be seated right away.

The cons..
The table we were seated at was extremely close to the table next to us. This made it harder to talk between us. Parts of the meal were luke warm. The price is a little steep for certain items.

Overall it is nice to have such a unique dining experience in waupaca.

Great food. Nice change from a lot of places having only fried, heavy, typical Wisconsin food. Prices aren’t bad at all. Husband and son enjoyed the brown cake dessert and said it tasted just like warm apple pie.

First time here. Been waiting for this spot to reopen. Dont take reservations but they noted our large group as a call in and had a large table ready to go! Nice. I had the beer battered haddock and it was pretty good. Friend had the baked haddock and had to turn back in said it tasted off. They responded immediately and gave him some fried perch no questions asked. He was happy with it. The chips with fish n chips were good. Loved their version of tarter sauce and their rye bread (need a bigger piece of that). The baby reds with the beer battered haddock were very plain. I would request a different side next time. Also mashed potatoes got poor reviews from members at the table. Steaks were cooked to order and they were happy with those.The ice cream drinks were very good and the waitress was awesome!

It’s wonderful to see this place re open but they need time to find a good chef . The food quality was not what we expected . We started with crab cakes as an appetizer. They serve 3 lg crab cakes but the only thing we could taste was the coating & no crab flavor . We also had the fish &chips (fish over fried) the chips were great ! New owners as you know. It was good, but, not great like TDubs was. The service was attentive, almost too attentive, a bit annoying. The atmosphere is same but missing something, I feel like there should be music or something. We were seated immediately and only took 30 min from starter to finish, super! My wife and I had to check this place out after reading the menu and checking out the website. My wife got the Ahi Tuna Power Bowl and I opted for the Pub Rueben (because I have to try a Rueben if it’s on the menu. Being a Top 10% Pub and Grill reviewer for Google, I have to put this place in my top 10 places I’ve ever eaten. The Rueben with house made corned beef was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot! My wife loved the Ahi Tuna Power Bowl and she kept saying it was so good repeatedly throughout the meal. The staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was awesome, gives you that old school speakeasy vibe. We’ll definitely be back, maybe tomorrow since it was so good 🤣 Highly recommend!

We stopped in one night when we were looking for something to do and we knew they had just opened. Sadly, we had already eaten that evening because after viewing the menu, I wanted to try everything!

We shared appetizers and a dessert and ordered after dinner drinks. Everything I tried made me want more! This place is amazing! You can tell they take pride in their dishes. This is like...your grandma cooked your favorite meal all day long because you were coming over for your birthday type of food. Lots of love and lots of pride type of food. The quality, the flavor. Everything is on point. And you will leave so full you can hardly breathe!
