Though the restaurant itself is a bit outdated, it is not worn out, and still has a very relaxed, cozy feel. I don't go out to eat for the décor, I go for the food and socializing. As we progressed through our meal, it filled up and got pretty loud. Not with obnoxious drunks causing a scene, but with families out having a good time.

Our server was Jessica and she was just fabulous. She was friendly and outgoing with zero fake. She accommodated our requests, was present when we had needs, and didn't hover. Would NOT be disappointed to have her with us again.

Now the food. We were all VERY pleased with our choices. Amongst us we had some standard pizzas, baked mostaccioli, a meatball sub, garlic bread, small dinner salad, and I had the Breaded Mozzarella Ala DeMarinis, Small Italian Salad, and the Steak Compobasa Pizza (junior size). Lunch today is going to be awesome. I've seen reviews where people are complaining about the small dinner salad being just chopped lettuce and a few toppings. I don't know what they expect for $2.25, but it is exactly what we expected to see - actually a bit bigger than expected for that price. The "Small" Italian Salad is pretty massive. Definitely not a single serve salad, which had we realized how big it was, my friend and I would probably have split one (and still had leftovers). It's like an entire head of lettuce is chopped up into the bowl first, then LOADED on top with tomatoes, cheese, black olives, pepperoncini, and pepperoni. The mozzarella sticks were crunchy but not overdone so there was no leaking cheese. I forgot to take my picture before I had started eating them (again) but I believe you get eight. The pizza I chose was just amazing. There's no red sauce, just garlic and olive oil under the cheese. It was so tasty and the steak was VERY tender. Had the leftover pizza for breakfast while I'm typing this because I was thinking about it so much. That leaves the salad for lunch and the mozz sticks for a snack.

I had not been here in decades. It's great to know it's still as good as it was back then.

The atmosphere was excellent, the service was attentive and friendly and the prices were good. Overall, it felt like a well-loved neighborhood establishment, and it clearly is.

Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a let-down. We didn't try the pizza, so maybe they is much better, but the pasta left something to be desired. The mostacoli was badly overcooked, and although the lasagna was better it was still not especially good. Fortunately, the garlic bread was enjoyable.

Overall, I wouldn't object to going there if we were in the neighborhood with no other options, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

Tried going back to give them another shot. I was a huge supporter and customer of lil demarinis in bayview on kk. And also love demarinis in Menomonee falls. Dine or carry out at both places are great and pizzas were always outstanding. I have dined in and ordered carry out at Dom & Phil Demarinis before. All negative experiences. But this past Sunday. I thought. What the heck. Let me give them another try. Me and my family were wanting pizza and my kids loved lil Demarinis and also the one that's still in Menomonee Falls. But didn't want to drive to Menomonee Falls for pizza and lil Demarinis is been closed for yrs now. I Ordered there large 16x12 pizza. Pepperoni, extra cheese. And well done crust. Well. When we got the pizza. The cheese was burnt. And there was no extra cheese. Because I asked for the extra cheese to be on top of the Pepperoni, and there wasn't. And also cheese was so burnt there was not even a pull to the cheese. It was crispy . And also the pizza still to this day has no flavor. Extremely bland. It's been like that each and everytime we have ordered from there. I guess my mistake is comparing them to the family that started they own thing Lil Demarinis on kk. And also the place in Menomonee falls. Because the pizza shape and all looks exactly the same but the flavor , cheese , crust , dough , Pepperoni , sauce Is not the same. I know the have alot of loyal customers and believe me. I want to love this place. They are supposedly the original. But time and time again. It's a huge disappointment. Me personally. Will stick with DeMarinis on main st in Menomonee Falls when I'm carving that type of pizza or Italian food. And too all reading. If you don't believe me. Go there and try them for your self. U will see the difference.

The saddest, overcooked pair of meatballs served with "sauce" on a pile of "spaghetti" - there are very few options on the menu - how can you not deliver on spaghetti and meatballs?

I am still waiting for any sort of offer of a water refill.
(But an old man rolled silverware while a guy (maybe the busser? hard to tell since he did nothing) talked to him and the "maitre'd" just stood there not seating the tables that weren't there.

The salad was just sad - pile of lettuce with crap on top to make it seem like there are toppings. Had to mix ourselves since the waitress had to talk to her grandson instead.

The fried eggplant was soggy and late.

I was asked not to order martinis up because it was hard to carry...

The "help wanted in the kitchen" sign on the way in did not help with confidence.

Oh. And there was a guy in a horrible toupe standing in the doorway most of the time. The whole experience made me believe that the only way this place is in business is either through a mob connection or that there are way too many people that want to live in the 80's and enjoy bland trash food.

I kept waiting for a TV celebrity to jump out and call this trash place for what it is.

The pizza was burnt and the meatball sub went from 3 meatballs to 2 for a dollar more than it used to be. From my understanding even though inflation has taken its toll, beef hasn’t gone up that much. I would have gladly paid the extra for the third meatball. Also the small salad was shredded lettuce with a tomato wedge and a small pepper. I felt ripped off. I do not recommend going g there..

On-street parking sucks. There's handicapped spaces on-site, so, I'm assuming an accessible entrance in the rear. A very neighborhood location with a large bar which is separated from the large dining room. We were seated immediately. RC Cola products are available. Very cozy atmosphere. We ordered drinks and the egg plant appetizer, which didn't disappoint. I enjoyed my meatballs and mostaccioli and ordered another 2 meatballs to go as the serving was enough for 2 hungry people. Our meals were served with a basket of Italian bread.

I definitely want to return to try their pizza!!

This is nothing like the original one on Wentworth. I haven’t been to this one in years and now I know why. Ordered pizza and garlic bread. Pizza was not good. The sausage is definitely not the same and tasted old. Both pizzas were way overcooked They were so crunchy that it was like eating cardboard. The cheese was so brown it was gross. I think I had three mushrooms on each piece. I think there were onions but not sure cause couldn’t taste them. I remember these pizzas being loaded with cheese and toppings. Come on, you can do better for the price you charge
Our water glasses were dirty and one had lipstick on it. We made our server aware and she just stared at it and said, oookkkk. You would have thought we had three eyes the way she looked at us for saying the two glasses were dirty. She was not having a good day apparently.
They weren’t that busy yet they seated us between two tables where the backs of our chairs were touching.
We only had pizza and garlic bread so I can’t comment on any other food.

Ordered a larger pizza over the phone. Should have been around $24. Was told they can’t do larger pizzas and instead would do two smalls for the same price. When we arrived to pick up they handed us one small pizza for $40(not the price we were told). I asked where the second pizza was and they eventually found it. Visit this restaurant for a meeting with a friend. The atmosphere is very pleasant, plus the style of decoration is cozy.

I really loved the customer service and the performance of the waitress, dynamic, punctual, attentive.

I recommend that you do not make the same mistake as me, my visit was on a fish Friday and I went for this one, a serious mistake that fish was a dish not at all recommended, do not try it, fish is not its forte.

We've been going to DeMarinis since Mama first opened decades ago. The pizza was always great. Incredible fennel seasoned sausage, great crust. Sons Dom and Phil continued with the same recipe at their restaurants on Lake Denoon and Bay View. We just returned for the first time in a couple of years. The pizza is flavorless. The fennel has been removed from the sausage and the crust is soggy. Phil still owns it but I think his kid has taken over. Probably trying to skimp on the family recipe to keep prices cheap. Which they are. Used to be one of the great pizzas in Milwaukee. No more. Not by a long shot.

Went in 5:00pm on a Wednesday. The bar was standing room only. Came in to try pizza. Was told it would be an hour. It was more like 1:20. The server apologized and said the owner offered to buy the 3 of us a drink. I thought it was a good apology. Loved the pizza. 3 of us shared a large sausage, pepperoni, onion and cheese.
Great crust, good quality toppings, sauce was nice, great balance overall.

Absolutely fantastic. Such history in this building. During World War II this building served as the soup kitchen for a German POW camp located on the site. The food is absolutely delicious.
