Fish tacos were $20 for a pound of cabbage and 2oz of fish. Undersalted, underseasoned. Those arent fish tacos - theyre fish salads and you're ripping people off. Write how many oz of fish you serve them with on the menu and see how many people stop ordering.

​I was a little hesitant to order a vegetarian dish from a "Bar and Grill," but the Vegetarian Tacos at Dove Tail Bar and Grill were a fantastic surprise. The tacos were a vibrant, flavorful mix of fresh ingredients, and the grilled corn was a delicious touch. The menu said one taco, so I was thrilled when two arrived. I had already devoured the first one before I even thought to take a picture! The side of house-pickled pickles was also a tasty and unique addition. The atmosphere is comfortable and open, with good music and a nice flow to the outside. Prices are also very reasonable for the Door County area.

Super fun find in Sister Bay off Hwy 57! Part of Dovetail Campground but a great place to stop in and grab a bite to eat. Dove Tail Bar & Grill might be tucked behind a gas station in one of the most northern parts of Wisconsin, but don’t let that fool you — this place is a total gem. Visited for dinner on Tuesday (7.1.25). Place was 3/4 full, but only had (2) servers, therefore the service was very slow (not the servers fault as they were clearly doing the best they could). Bartender may have been able to help out a bit??? The place is very noisy since there is no ceiling sound proofing (industrial architecture). Very disappointed the walleye dinner only came with one filet (as the menu states filet(s) plural). French fries were very good though. Our party of four agreed the food was ok, but there was no reason to come back.

I had a lager to pair with the vibes and burger to come. For the appetizers, we did smoked white fish, this was beautifully smoked, and the tomato cheese bread was another iteration in my opinion of caprese salad, and this dish was a refreshing break from the heavier more bold flavors of the meal. The cherry pecan cheese roll had mild blue-veined cheese with dried cherries, loved the complexity of this appetizer and the crackers were nicely baked. for the main, of course we did the Dovetail Burger which is served with fries. This burger was enormous, and the bacon jam added a nice sweetness, almost felt like a BBQ type burger. We indulged and conquered the burger, and had room for dessert. I was the odd one out and got the Cherry Pecan Bread Pudding, it was warm and served with whipped cream, caramel, and was a great way to end the meal.

I recently visited the Dovetail Bar and Grill at 10282 WI-57, in Sister Bay, WI. I found this place which is odd the main drag of Sister Bay on a Google search. Lucky me. I ordered to Door County turkey sandwich which was off the chain delicious. Brie cheese on sourdough with a cherry compote made it great. The beer selection was also very good. My server was very nice and helpful in my meal selections. I would consider it a must go.

Called around 5 to place an order for carry out. They were out of some items, which is fine since it’s the end of the season. The person in the phone was very short and even said, while I was trying to come up with a new item after finding out some were no available that, “Sir it’s pretty busy here so…” implying I was the problem and needed to hurry up.

We ordered the fish fry and fish tacos. The fish tacos were supposed to come with fries, which they didn’t. My fish fry had one piece of fish. I’m assuming this is not the normal but after spending close to $50 on two entrees, I was hoping for a whole lot better.

This is the true definition of GLAMPING! Located at the entry of Sister Bay's newest campground, with an upscale elegant feel. Beautifully decorated. Great bar. If you are lucky enough to be there when he has live music, you will really enjoy the intimate feel. The hospitality team really took great care of us. Drinks were flowing, our waitress never missed a beat even though the place was jam-packed. We had fun buying drinks for the musicians. Don't discount the elegance of this bar just because of the location. Highlight of the night, we were able to get a 92 yr old woman on the dance floor and everyone made her feel special. Great staff! Our bar bill far exceeded the dinner cost. So $50 a person was pretty accurate. Enjoy!

We ate there July 2 while visiting Door County. The restaurant is very open and airy. If you sit near the windows, you can see hummingbirds visit the feeder. Jing was our server and was very knowledgeable. We went there for the vegan items listed on the online menu, but due to a cook change, those items weren't available. The fish tacos were good; the bread pudding was outstanding. Suggestions: 1. Have the staff wear name tags. 2. Improve the signage. We used Mapquest to find the restaurant, which is located at the back of several "Dovetail" businesses. It would help if management put up one very large sign that said "Dovetail" instead of "Dovetail Trading", which is next to a Citgo gas station, which is next to Dovetail RV camping. Confusing if you're like us and plug a restaurant into Mapquest and forget its name.

**Dovetail Bar & Grill: A Dismal Dining Disappointment**

From the moment I entered the Dovetail Bar & Grill, it became evident that this would be an evening of regret. The staggering wait time was just the beginning of a series of disappointments. One would think that with such a delay, it would culminate in a meal worth the wait. Alas, this was far from the case.

The food, to put it generously, was mediocre at best. Bland flavors and uninspiring presentations left much to be desired, making me question the merit of my patience. However, what truly accentuated the restaurant's negligence was the unsightly cobwebs dangling from the ceiling—a sure sign of poor maintenance and a blatant disregard for cleanliness and ambiance.

As if the food and atmosphere weren’t already distressing enough, our experience was further marred by our waitress’s audacity. After receiving a tip exceeding 20%, she had the gall to complain about its insufficiency. An astounding lack of professionalism, especially given that the service was far from impeccable.

In summary, Dovetail Bar & Grill is a cautionary tale in dining. If you value your time, taste buds, and overall experience, I'd suggest seeking sustenance elsewhere.

My sister and I have a new favorite place to eat in Door County! A referral from a friend brought us to Dovetail Bar and Grill (sits behind the gas station and trading post). Service was great, prompt. My sister and I split the Door County Turkey sandwich...the turkey was warm, sliced, (not processed meat), the combination of the brie and cherry compote was delicious. Enjoyed the vinegar-based coleslaw, possibly pickled? A nice treat from creamy slaw that everyone else serves. We each had a Cherry Juice Margarita, which we had a hard time putting down. Again, fresh, not pre-mix on this. The decor was wonderful...bright, clean, felt like I just came off a California beach to have lunch. I was even impressed with the style of the handle on the toilet! So glad for the referral...this is now on our favorites list to visit.

We are glad we stopped in for dinner a little off the beaten path. Don't be hesitant to head to the back of the attached fuel station. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience from start to finish. Our server, Lorena, was super friendly and helped us choose the popular and ultra delicious. I had the Door County smoked turkey sandwich. One of the best I've had. Generous slices of premium Brie, layered with equally generous (but not overpowering) dollops of cherry compote, grilled to perfection on sourdough. The fries were standard, but perfectly crisped and salted. My husband had the Dovetail burger, which he claimed was awesome. We couldn't resist their single dessert offering, cherry bread pudding, paired with whipped cream and caramel sauce. I love how their menu is small, specializing in what appears to be tried-and-true winners. On a side note, the space is comfortable, from the seating, to the large windows/retractable garage-like doors, and pleasant ambient music that's not too loud.
