A friend and I were passing through Sturgeon Bay on a Saturday evening and stopped in for a light supper. They had great live music and a packed house. Fortunately, we found a couple of seats up in the loft. Service was super friendly. We shared a small mushroom flatbread and some meatballs, and it was all delicious. Lovely atmosphere and great vibes.

Very cozy feeling! Listen to live music. You can sit downstairs with the other patrons or upstairs there is a large table for 6 to 8. The food is amazing! The staff are friendly. We enjoyed the experience so much we came back two days later just to try something else from the menu. It did not disappoint. Dromhus is a must if you are in the area.

We came for dinner on our last night in Door County because it was highly recommended, and what a magical place. The waiter made great suggestions. Thank you! Everything was beautifully presented, and we decided to share plates. Delicious! We had the dromhus flatbread, the white fish dip, the swedish meatballs, and the brie board. It was fun night for outdoor open mic. So nice that they support music and arts. I've already recommended this place to friends and family.

Delicious food in a renovated church with outdoor space as well and music often. We were visiting the area briefly and would definitely return if we get back to the area. Swedish meatballs, a specialty, and the stuffed dates were wonderful, as were our salads and flatbread.

Great food and atmosphere, definitely loved open mic night! Staff were very friendly as well. I recommend getting the dromhus flat bread! (not to be confused with the dromhus establishment though both were fantastic) 😁🥰👽

Really wanted to love it but it seems like they're trying to do more than they're able to handle. Ordered two starters, swedish meatballs and a flatbread. Later was told they are out of swedish meatballs. Ok no problem. Got one or our starters, olives. Which were simple jarred olives served in an inconvenient long canoe like dish. Waited a really long time for the flatbed. Was really disappointing. Basically pita bread with some ingredients sprinkled and heated. Never received our other starter. Poor communication from the staff.

Drömhus in Door County has its moments, but it's not without its drawbacks. The location is beautiful, offering a serene escape with lovely views. The rooms are generally clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay.

However, the service can be inconsistent. While some staff members are friendly and accommodating, others seem less attentive. The amenities are basic, and there's not much in the way of extra features or activities to enhance the experience.

Overall, Drömhus is an okay place to stay if you're looking for a simple, no-frills option in Door County. It's decent, but don't expect anything exceptional. A solid three-star experience.

This converted church building's name translates into "dream house", and describes itself as a wine bar and restaurant. The wine list is small, but carefully curated, and the food is imaginative and well prepared. Their pizzas are spectacular. There is live music in the garden some nights, and that draws enough people that the kitchen can be overwhelmed (my pizza took 1 hour)(the explanation for only 4 stars - not the fault of our actual server). The restaurant is only a short walk from the historic center of Sturgeon Bay, which is full of art galleries and great shops.

Very slow service. Ordered drinks starter and pizzas. After 30 minutes of waiting we were told they were out of the starter we ordered so we ordered an alternative .Meanwhile pizzas arrived before the starter. We were never asked if we would like more beer and wine. Enjoyable music outdoors.

A wonderful place that I always make sure to visit when I am in Sturgeon Bay. The atmosphere is very personal and cozy. What really stands out is the quality of the food! You can tell the owner of the restaurant put thought and care into preparing the food. All the ingredients are fresh with great depth of flavor. Be prepared that the food takes a while to come out but that’s how you know everything is prepared fresh. They also have a great selection of wines. The best restaurant I have been to in this area.

Delicious food and an upscale yet cozy ambiance. We had the Dromhus pizza, artichokes & Brussels sprouts, and fig & goat cheese. All could be made gluten-free and were excellent as such! Highly recommended for gluten-free diners. We appreciated the many N/A beverage options (N/A rosé!) as well as extensive wine and beer lists. Live music on Wednesday evenings was a draw too. We had a lovely dinner here and would be glad to return.

Stopped for dinner here and absolutely loved it! They had live music playing, a comfy & open seating layout, and an overall lovely ambiance. I ordered the Ligonberry & Baked Brie ($12) as well as the Margarita Pizza ($16). The pizza was good, but the brie dish was AMAZING. I’ve never had lingonberry or baked brie, but it was a great combination and tasted delicious with the Swedish bread. Service was great, but the food does take a while because they have a small kitchen. Anyways, highly recommend you check it out if you’re in the area!

We stopped for Sunday brunch on our way out of town from vacation. It is very cute and a great concept but they are likely trying to do too much with limited resources.
When we arrived there were only a few tables (2-3) including 1 larger group seated. There was live music setting up and it did get fairly busy while we waited. We were informed the kitchen was small and that food would take a little longer. We ended up waiting an an hour and fifteen minutes for 4 dishes.
The kitchen isn't just small, it's the size of a broom closet and can't reasonably handle the menu provided.
The food is good but not worth the excessive wait for a meal. If you're getting some drinks and a snack plate to share, I would recommend. If you're hungry or have anywhere to be, I would suggesting saving this for another time.

I'd like to preface this review by stating that my experience may have been different as a tourist travelling in a larger group of 6 people.

I'd like to say that overall I'd highly recommend this place as a must try for pizza in door county or Wisconsin period. This place had phenomenal pizza and I applaud the business for it. As a group of 6, we ordered the swedish meatballs and 5 pizzas.

We tried The Dromhus, The Heidi, The Swede, The Delaney, and Margarita pizzas. They were all excellent. My group of friends were not aware that gorgonzola was similar to blue cheese (so more acquired taste) thus they did not enjoy The Delaney as much. I personally liked it a lot still.

Our waitress was super nice and very upfront that the business had a small oven. We did not anticipate waiting super long but found board games on the top floor which helped kill time until the food arrived. The pizza was coming nice and fresh out of the oven so it was quite nice trying different ones as they came out.

Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Door County but I'd be patient if you go in a big group. I honestly think that the pizza alone could be potentially a business on its own since it rivaled other top pizza spots that I enjoy in Chicago and Madison alike.

The place is cute and has a unique vibe. We were there for brunch with kiddos on Sunday. Food was rather tasty although simple. Expect bites rather than full meal entrees. The experience was dampered by the very slow service: over an hour for 3 Flatbread. Probably because they have a very small kitchen . Recommend as a coffee chill place over lunch or dinner.

We just left your restaurant and had a pretty bad experience you should be aware of. We arrive right around 8pm. We are here in SB from Florida because we planned our annual visit to family in Clintonville around Open Door Pride. We chose your restaurant for a couple reasons tonight: 1. We travel to spend/eat local. 2. We love small plates. 3. I am allergic to wheat so restaurants that acknowledge “GF” on their menu always top the list. 4. Your Open Door Pride sticker.

We began our order with a glass of wine. Then later we ordered the pear/goat cheese spears and olives. Both GF. We told the server we would be ordering as we went along. Around 8:45 my partner ordered a pizza. About 7 minutes later after trying a couple times to catch the server’s attention as she either walked by or chatted from behind the bar — I stood up and she came over. I ordered the dates (GF) and truffle chips. I was told that because you closed at 9 they could not send the dates order to the kitchen but she could get the chips. I was in disbelief as she walked off. She did bring my partner another glass of wine. A few minutes after 9 a basket of store bought chips with NO truffle arrived. About 9:15 the pizza that I could not eat arrived for my partner. It was brought by the “chef” who kept blabbering about it being a small kitchen and a large order before us. We never asked. In fact I was still in disbelief that I was denied my dinner order. In other words, as food continued to come after my partner’s pizza it came out for other tables. But I, who came there due to my limited ability to eat out in this town was told NO. We left at 9:30 after also pointing out to the server that our check had one amount and the QR code app had two different amounts due. So 3 different amounts. The response? “I have already told the owner”.

Let me be clear —- at around 8:10 we told the server we would order plates as we went along (you know, in the European way). At 8:50 I was told I couldn’t order my dinner but I would have potato chips out of the bag that I didn’t eat after I tasted no truffle and that is NOT dinner, anyways, other people had food delivered around 9:20. We had to hear about small kitchens and other excuses going to the 9:20 table. And then we go to pay and the calculation is not consistent. And we left at 9:30 with me not having dinner after choosing your restaurant for the reasons listed above.

If the kitchen closes at 9 and people are ordering as they go along… maybe the servers should circulate the dining room and inform patrons.

The Dromhus is a little gem located a few blocks from the water in Sturgeon Bay. While the menu is small, everything we ordered was amazing. The Swedish meatballs were tender with a delicious traditional gravy atop al dente pasta. The charred Brussels sprouts was one of my favorites: I took the photo after I had unapologetically dug in, but rest assured, it is a generous portion. The baked Brie was outstanding, wrapped in a tender, flaky crust, alongside a nice lingonberry preserves, roasted nuts, toast, and fresh apple slices. Really good. The buratta/arugula salad was delicious too. Heather, the owner, has done a wonderful job using the space to create an inviting atmosphere that has preserved the history and charm of the former chapel. A local we spoke with highly recommended the open-mic night (Thursdays), but unfortunately we had to miss it. We look forward to a return visit!
