This was a fun looking restaurant, I quite liked the vibe. Unfortunately our service was pretty subpar. It wasn't very busy - maybe 8 tables and a small party; looked like 3 servers and a bartender were working. We were sat near where the servers hung out, so our server sat about three feet away on her phone for about five minutes instead of taking our food order. The cocktails were delicious and I would come back for them again. My husband had French onion soup and a side east town salad - he stated that the French onion soup was extremely delicious(only wished that the bread was crispy and not soggy) and the salad was good although it was missing the fennel. I had to change my order to Mac and cheese as they were out of shrimp and grits. The bacon in the Mac was delicious and smokey but otherwise wasn't a very exciting dish (granted Mac isn't a super exciting dish to start with). I was very surprised at how small the portion of the Mac and cheese was though because I didn't expect to order a pasta main and leave hungry. It was an okay experience overall

I wanted to take a moment to share feedback regarding a recent experience at one of your partner restaurants, East Town Kitchen & Bar, during our stay at the Marriott Milwaukee.

First, I want to commend your hotel staff. From the moment we arrived, they were outstanding kind, attentive, and proactive in ensuring our group was accommodated. When there were delays with our room check-in, the staff kept us informed, expressed gratitude for our patience, and even offered restaurant vouchers as a gesture of goodwill. Their professionalism left a strong, positive impression on our group.

Unfortunately, our experience at East Town Kitchen & Bar did not reflect the same level of hospitality.

We had previously enjoyed drinks there on Saturday and, encouraged by that visit, made a reservation for 11 people. While we had requested a 10:00–10:30 AM seating, the reservation was ultimately confirmed for 11:30 AM. On the day of the reservation, our party arrived around 10:00 AM and was told by the host that we could be seated once all guests arrived. By 10:30 AM, when the full group was present, the restaurant manager, Alessia Simpson, approached us.

From the outset, Ms. Simpson’s demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional. When I explained what we had been told by the host, she responded curtly that “he was wrong” and refused to consider alternatives, even though the restaurant was largely empty, including a long central table that could have easily accommodated our group. When I asked why we couldn’t be seated there, her response was that there were “other reservations,” though the space remained unoccupied. Her tone was condescending, her comments snarky, and her body language including eye rolling made it clear she had no interest in helping resolve the situation.

When I asked if we could instead be split into smaller tables, I was told we would have to be seated at different times, again despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Eventually, four of us were seated at 10:45 AM, while the rest waited. Frustrated, we moved to sit at the bar. Only after doing so were we suddenly informed that “reservations were cancelled” and the long table was available. By then, the damage was done.

What stood out most was Ms. Simpson’s lack of basic courtesy not only toward us but, I can only assume, toward her staff as well. In stark contrast, the rest of the team was polite, professional, and clearly doing their best to salvage the experience. I appreciate their efforts and thank them sincerely.

Given Marriott’s strong reputation for service, it was surprising and disappointing to encounter such behavior from a manager representing your partner restaurant. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I trust you will address this issue to ensure future guests do not face a similar experience.

Don't be fooled, this is a hotel restaurant inside the Marriott. It's ok. My buddy and I stopped in before a show at the Riverside and the hit rate was about 50/50 on what was good or not. Lobster hush puppies, really good. Brussel sprouts, not crispy and super salty. Pork belly, too chewy. Salads were decent. My cocktail was really good, my buddy hated his. For the price, it's meh, as you'll probably only enjoy half of what you order. Oh, and at some point our server just stopped waiting on us (maybe her shift ended and she forgot to tell us???) and the manager ended up taking care of us with the check because he was doing his rounds to ask people how things were going.

To begin, Sabrina our waitress was a sweetheart. She agreed to make me a drink not on the menu that she hadn’t attempted before and it was great! She recommended the chicken wings and the chicken sandwich which both were fantastic. We’ve had hot honey chicken in NYC and this sandwich was just as yummy! We came for Friday lunch so it wasn’t busy and it gave us a chance to appreciate the space, it’s got a nice blend of historic brick and arches mixed with modern/industrial furniture and fixtures. Came here for brunch Saturday morning, which they open early so that's a nice perk. Bloodys have a good flavor (no chaser, heads up). I got the Avocado Grande. Great flavor and big portion. Hubby got the three bennys, also big. Yachtwurst was new for us and it's delicious! Sabrina, our waitress, was great too! Very attentive and helpful throughout the meal. Folks, let me tell you about my tremendous lunch at East Town in Milwaukee—absolutely fantastic, one of the best, believe me. The place is classy, very high-energy, great vibe, and the food? Out of this world, nobody does it better. I walked in, and they treated me like a king—because, frankly, I am a winner, and they know it.
Our waitress, Sabrina, was phenomenal—terrific, really. She’s got the best attitude, very professional, and she made sure everything was perfect. I said to her, “Sabrina, you’re doing an incredible job, nobody serves better than you, nobody.” She smiled, very polite, and kept the drinks coming—Diet Coke, ice-cold, just the way I like it. Tremendous service, folks, the best.
The food? Unbelievable. I had the burger—big, juicy, perfectly cooked, probably the best burger in Milwaukee, maybe the whole country. The fries? Golden, crispy, fantastic. They know how to make food great again at East Town. My friends had salads and some fancy sandwiches—everyone said it was amazing, and they’re right, because I only eat with people who know quality.
The atmosphere? Very luxurious, very clean, not like some of those low-energy places you see. Milwaukee’s lucky to have a place like this—East Town is making dining great again. I’d give it five stars, maybe six if they let me, because I know stars, folks, I have the best stars.
Sabrina and the whole team, you’re doing an incredible job. Keep it up, and I’ll be back—nobody loves a great meal more than me. Tremendous, just tremendous!

Was looking for a place in walking distance from my apartment to have dinner. I had driven past this place several times over the years but I had never tried it. I dropped by the restaurant for a meeting with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised that they serve brunch. The ambience relaxed and chic. The restaurant is located downtown with virtually floor to ceiling windows with plenty of sunshine and facing one of the city’s most active boulevards, which was great for people watching. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Shrimp perfectly cooked, very unique cheese curds, wings and brussel sprouts also really good. Our server, Sabrina was awesome! Portions were larger than we expected so we will be taking food home!

Service was outstanding - Sabrina is super fun and made the experience amazing for my 8 yr old daughter and I. We were just getting snacks and my daughter had the pretzel and cheese and I had the wings. The pretzel is delicious - the wings were outstanding!!!! Tons of meat and the dry reading was so yummy!! 10 out of 10!!

We came here for Summerfest and the hotel is in a perfect location! Ended up at the hotel restaurant for a quick bite and Taylor waited on us and was amazing! Had great recommendations and was extremely attentive! Highly recommend staying here!

Stopped here before summerfest for a quick bite and some drinks. Had a couple questions about the menu and they went and grabbed the chef. Chef Jason was not only knowledgeable, but also hilarious. He also came back to check on us to make sure we got what we inquired about. This level of thoroughness is a dying art. Servers barely check up these days but to have the chef come out….talk about a wow moment. We will def. Be back next weekend for more dinks. And no doubt more of the chef special.
