One thing to note first is my surprise at how vivacious the small town square of East Troy is. The charm here is impressive. It’s nice to take a walk around. Another thing to note is the nearby East Troy Railroad Museum that shouldn’t be missed. The third thing to note brings us back to this brewery. It’s housed in a former old bank. What sets this brewery apart from others is that thankfully the historic vault and bank artifacts have been left intact and incorporated into the decor. You can step inside of the vault and behold the massive door and pennies embedded in the floor. A big nod to the owners and all involved in the beauty preservation. Plentiful seating and nice food selections. Well done, y’all.

The bartenders are all personable and friendly, all of the food I have had here is phenomenal. The beer is great, I suggest getting a flight before settling on what you want to drink because they have an awesome head brewer who makes some interesting and uniquely delicious brews. The patio is fun with a unique vibe with a pavilion and games for kids and tipsy patrons alike.

Tried a few of their beers and they were all great; personally really liked the witbeer while others at the table were big fans of the blood orange cream ale.
The cheese curds definitely lived up to the hype in the reviews - some of the best I've had - and I would highly recommend the pear pizza (closer to Neapolitan style than the 'square' name would suggest). Despite the range on the menu, it's clear the kitchen knows what they're doing and puts a lot of effort into each plate that comes out.

The staff was superb, dedicated and attentive. The decadent meatloaf, with some nice seasoning and fennel and a very lovely sweet n thick red sauce, was THE BEST I ever had. The garlic vegetables were delightful as a side. The Oktoberfest was crisp and refreshing. Thank you for an over-the-top dining experience ET Brewery!

Under new owners, we wanted to give them a try. My husband and I both had the Prime Rib. Let me just say, it was delicious, it just melted in our mouths. Atmospher is unique. Did some banking in this building when it was bank. Neat to see what they kept. Will be back and would recommend.

Casual environment, cool building with fantastic decor throughout, great beer. Paved in Gold was my favorite. Great live entertainment on Friday. Singer started at 6, he was excellent. Emma was our server and did a fantastic job. The rest of the staff was super friendly and helpful as well. We only had apps. Brussel sprouts are amazing must. Can't go wrong with cheese curds or nachos. Under new ownership. Sasha and Lance are both extremely kind, friendly, and laid back individuals that genuinely are passionate about what they do. Highly recommend this place!

My second visit to East Troy Brewing as it is back on the 2025 Reel Craft Pass. Leah welcomed me in and I opted for bar seating. Since the brat and corn festival was happening across the street almost every table was full and the bar was half full, really good energy.
I sampled two beers and landed on the Blood Orange Cream Ale. It was delightful. My second beer the Bank Transfer, a Vienna lager was also true to the style. $7 16 oz pours including tax. I shared some appetizers with bar neighbors and the pizza and nachos were very good, and the portions were large.
The building is very cool, make sure to explore the place a bit while you sip on some beers, a cocktail, or wine and don't miss the bank vault. This is a great place to be on a Saturday afternoon.

East Troy Brewery is so much better since the new owners took over. They really turned this place around! The staff is super nice, the place is clean, and the food is amazing. The menu isn’t huge, but everything on it tastes like they’ve really perfected it. Such a great spot to hang out and grab a bite!

Really good pizza and beer. The brew masters were on site and I was able to talk them into giving me a tour. They really care about the brewing process and they sounded like they were really happy to have this big brew lab to work with. I'm going to be a regular.

I have tried this place twice. Both times it took 15+ minutes to be greeted, the servers had to be tracked down for anything, there was 1-2 servers for the whole place both times who were obviously in over their heads. This time in particular was much worse. My visit was on 6/21/2025.
Ran out of the gin I requested, no lime for gin and tonic.
Appetizers took 30 minutes, food took an hour and a half (this was similar wait times in both visits.) The food is okay, but the wings were exceptional. I got a burger with gluten free bun; the bun was not toasted, thus falling into dust. That ruined the burger for me. The excuse on tardiness was “the kitchen must be backed up,” but there was only 5 other tables. Manager/owner never came to our table to rectify. The poor bartender had to run around and do damage control on his behalf. We were offered a free round of drinks by her, as there was nothing else she personally could offer, but we were very irritated to hear the table next to us got 50% off by the owner that *did* check on them while we waited far longer than them. Our bill was a total of $130.
I wanted to give a higher rating based on quality of food, but it’s hard to give that when you’re not even hungry anymore from waiting so long after eating appetizers.
The atmosphere was severely lacking as the singer performing was horrible. I hate to say that, but the talent needs to be vetted before being allowed to perform. It was so bad we wanted to walk out.
Super, super disappointed. The owners NEEDS to do something. We were there for almost 3 hours and that’s far too long of a stay at a restaurant when you have a 5 year old that needs to get to bed. I’d love if the owner could rectify the situation, but sadly at this point I cannot see myself ever giving this place another chance.

Fun place with great beers and food, especially the pulled pork nachos! One star knocked off due to an event inside where the "host" didn't really greet us but asked if we had a ticket (I was clueless to what). Then he kicked us out around back. Thankfully the rest of the visit was better.

It was our first time trying this place, and we were informed they were short staffed, so they only had outdoor seating, which was ok because it was a beautiful day. We did have to wait quite a bit to be served and receive our drinks and food, but I have to say it was worth the wait. The food was delicious and filling, drinks were tasty, and the staff were very welcoming and personable. I would definitely come back again to try more off the menu. The brisket mac & cheese was so good as well as the giant pretzel with queso!

As avid brewery visitors we made a stop here on our way from Northern Illinois to Milwaukee for a concert. Upon arriving you can tell just how special of a small town East Troy is and how unique of a brewery setting this place is as well. Our bartender Leah was welcoming, friendly, and attentive in making sure we had a great experience. When she did not know the answer to a question I had about merchandise she promptly went and checked with the owner. He as well came out to speak with us and introduce himself. It was an overall great experience and atmosphere.

Stopped by this place today after a hike at John Muir and had a solid experience, though not without a couple of hiccups.
The BBQ nachos were definitely the highlight — piled, flavorful, and just the right kind of messy. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which had great potential, but unfortunately came without the advertised pickle and pub sauce, which felt like a miss on the kitchen’s part. Bbq brisket was solid and came with a bunch of sides.
That said, service was friendly and attentive with refills — they stayed on top of our water glasses, which I always appreciate. Food came out a bit slow, but the laid-back vibe and great drinks made the wait easier. Speaking of drinks, the POG seltzer (passion, orange, guava) and cream soda were both excellent — super refreshing and unique.
The bathrooms were clean, and the whole place had a really inviting, cozy ambiance. Definitely worth a stop if you’re not in a rush and want a chill brewpub experience with solid drinks and great nachos.

Esthetically, it's nice and neat, clean.
I appreciate a town that takes pride in its history and the historical photos give you a lot to look at.
Service was slow
The food wasn't great.
Beer tasted fine, but they had a hard time getting a full pint.
Hummus was pretty middle of the road.
The pita chips were truly terrible.
I ate them to eat the hummas for 14 bucks i thought ive got to eat it.
I thought itd be real pita.
Wings good
Fries not great
Burger ok.
Now, this isn't the fault of the establishment, but I could swear some guy in a fedora, long black hair looking like a guy youd keep your kids away from, took a picture of me at the urinal.
I had my head turned looking at a picture they had on the wall beside, and all of the sudden, I saw a flash, and when I turned, the guy b lined to the door. It was very odd. I could be wrong but I cant think of a reason a flash would happen in the bathroom not by a mirror.
I regret not addressing it.
I'm willing to bet someone who was there mid afternoon may 17th will know the guy I'm talking about.
Other than all that if they got someone who really loved what he/she did running it, it could absolutely be one of the highlights of the square.

First time here. Seems like a nice place it’s freezing cold outside warm and toasty inside nice fireplace. spacious with room between tables, multiple options bar , high tops, casual table tops. Service fast and friendly. Tried the old fashioned sorry it seemed to have more cinnamon in it than booze. It’s a brewery so I guess if you are into micro brews you might have better luck. Just don’t expect a stiff drink from the bar. Let’s see if the food is better? Wife ordered the brisket I am trying their buttermilk pub chicken sandwich.
Okay so the buttermilk chicken definitely delicious, grilled Brussel sprouts ohhh yay yummy 😋 brisket tender not overly smoked large portion nice bbq sauce on the side. French fries hot crispy and fresh Mac n cheese good with a little smoke flavor. Yummy is the best way to describe everything. Would I order food here again. ABSOLUTELY Bon appétit.

What a great place to have a few locally-brewed beers and food! Located right on the town square in quaint East Troy, Wisconsin.
Gray (monochromatic name, but an incredibly colorful personality!) and Alyssa took fantastic care of my party. The coffee barrel-aged Wastelands stout was exquisite; believe it or not, it makes the bourbon-barrel aged Wastelands seem almost pedestrian, which it is certainly not. The brisket was done just right and glasses were never empty. Will definitely be depositing more shekels in these amazing ladies’ tip jar next time I’m in town!

We enjoyed our dinner at East Troy Brewery last night. The brisket tacos were absolutely delicious. The meat was very tender and the elote corn sauce was a special touch. My husband had the Friday fish fry. He said the perch were delicious, cooked just right with a light batter crust, and the potato pancakes were good, too.
The craft beers were tasty and amazing. The three we tried were the Cronic, Hef Time, and Helles. Our server was very friendly and so efficient!

Stopped in for lunch and asked about soup of the day and were told they had no soup today...at all. Asked if they had coffee and were told, no, they did not have coffee. Waited a very long time for food, and the food was meh. I had pizza and husband had brisket Mac and cheese. Flavorless and pasty....
Prices are high for quality.
Disappointed because it has great vibe and location is really nice. Looks like they need more help....

Update 2024: Everybody's food was great, so was the beer. Another great lunch. I also love the cream bricks. Thank you!
Update 2023: There's a menu for kids now. That was the only thing missing from last time we visited. Up to 5 stars from 4. Food is good, prices are good. Beer is also very good too.
Original: Went for lunch with the family. Not exactly what I'd call kid friendly, but it was doable. Families with school age kids would be fine. All we could find for utensils were forks. We really would've liked a knife to cut the pizzas for the kids. Food was very good and the beer was good too.
I'd definitely recommend and would go again.

We made sure to tell all our family and friends about it, the food was phenomenal (especially the cheese curds), the place looked very cool! And super clean, and the service was amazing, they went above and beyond to help me surprise my bf and he loved it. I appreciate all the effort they put in to assure we had a great anniversary. I am so glad we got to spend part of our day here! We got a brisket bbq plate, cheese curds, wings (all flavors), tater tots, and a beer flight! I went here for dinner with my husband before attending a concert at Alpine Valley. We thought we had allowed ourselves enough time to sit, order and eat our meal, however the service was so slow we were almost late for the concert. They were way understaffed and the server who helped us had to be flagged down for virtually everything. The food itself was alright - basic brew pub food. We sat outside which was a decent ambiance - they had live music playing on the patio. However the service aspect of things is really what got to me. They need to hire more workers and get the customer service aspect of things in order before I would want to come back here.

I just want to start off by saying the food and drinks here are delicious! Which is why I decided to have my rehearsal dinner here in the back room. Planning the evening was simple but when it came to the day of we had some issues. When we arrived we were directed to our tables. We had to find staff/a server to take our drink orders. When taking our drink orders the staff made it very complicated and were bouncing back and forth to different people. Our food was buffet style which was fine but after the staff was done setting everything up we were not notified that we could go eat. The food sat there for 5 or so minutes before we noticed that the staff was no longer coming back. Communication and service was a 4/10 but the food was delicious!

I came in last night trying to get dinner for the final time.
My boyfriend and I arrived at 6:45pm on a Friday. First of all, I want to say that our server was absolutely amazing! Very kind, polite, personable, and knowledgeable. She informed us that they were out of the fish fry. Which was disappointing because that's why we came there.
We both decided on the bbq plates instead. Brisket for me, and the full pound combo for him. We had drinks, which were good.
Roughly 20 minutes after placing our order, our server came back and inormed us they had fish again. I was very happy to hear that, so I changed my order to the fish fry and we kept the other bbq plate so we could share and try everything.
Roughly another 30-40 minutes after that, we realized the time and that we still hadn't gotten our food. We started to look around. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 to 1/2 full with people. Some people were only there for beverages while others had to go boxes. I didn't feel like it was that busy to warrant this long of a wait. The table behind us with 3 children had been there for an hour and a half with no food.
They asked for their bill and so did we. Our sever was visibly upset that we wanted to leave. You could tell she really cared about customers and this place. We assured her it wasn't her fault and tipped her well.
I've come to this place numerous times over the years hoping it would get better, and it hasn't. Most of my experiences have been negative...bad service, or semi warm food. It's disappointing because this is a very cool place and concept, especially for the little town of East Troy.

So very disappointing. Have been here previously. Arrived on 8/31/24 around 5:45. Sat outside. Waiter took drink order 3 beers, 1 water. Food order placed. No appetizers, 2 sandwiches, 1 order of Mac and Cheese, 1 pizza. Sat at table for at least 45 minutes. No food. Waiter returned for additional drink order, everyone was fine. Requested more water. Water was delivered. After waiting for our food about 45min or more. Waiter indicated there was a ticket ahead of us for a party of 30. Apparently they were celebrating something. The party of 30, food was set up on the back wall buffet style. Fortunately for the party of 30 they all ate.. Waited another at 15 minutes still no food. Lucky we actually got the water we Requested. Table directly behind us, who arrived 1/2 hour probably longer after us received their appetizers. It was at that point we decided to leave Waiter never returned. No food after waiting at least an hour or more. Understood it was busy, no excuse for more of a direct communication from Waiter and better service. Lack of management. Don't know when we will return. As I stated earlier have had a good experience previously. I don't typically write reviews. It was just so very disappointing. It was our plan to end our family day with a nice dinner on a beautiful day. Please note I did leave money on the table to which paid for the drinks we had.

Well, this is a very nice building. The food reminded me of Long John Silvers .From the cheese curds to the fish it all tasted the same. We had to cut a 1/ 4 inch of beer batter off the fish, It was cold inside and the coating still raw This was the 1st time there and the last Server was very nice but had her hands full with others, I did not see any management present at the time so it was like a free for all. I think they should walk across the street and see what a good fish fry is.

I’ve been to this restaurant before(about 1 year ago) and had a great experience. The first disappointment at this visit(June 2024) was that the menu changed. a lot of the foods I liked were gone, there were barely any choices now. Then, the wait for food was well over an hour and we were told 45 minutes in that they were out of one of the ingredients for a dish. When receiving the brisket bbq plate, I noticed that I got pulled pork instead of brisket. I notified the waitress and she said it was entered correctly and that my order was brisket. It was clearly not brisket. Brisket comes in slices, darker color/different texture, and more crust. There was another person at our table who got brisket and they looked very different. The waitress didn’t know the difference between brisket and pulled pork. There was no discount or offer to replace my food. I did not make a scene but I am very disappointed that there wasn’t more accommodation for all of the problems.

Sat at the bar for a Saturday lunch. Leah the bartender took great care of us. I had the white truffle pear pizza. Delicious. Crust was thicker but light and airy with a crispy cornmeal bottom. Flavor was outstanding. We also had the 1/2 brisket platter. Brisket was full of flavor, not dry. Good spice. Mac and cheese was gooey goodness. Cornbread was some of the best we’ve had. Lots of history to see in the bar that was a bank from the 1800’s. Be sure to step into the vault and step back in time.
Oh and the beer was excellent!

While the food was good, it took so long to get it. Once we got the check we confirmed it took 45 minutes to get our food out. We were offered no refills and it felt like our server avoided any interaction she could. The food runner very obviously did not want to be there. When handed our checks the server disappeared and we had to flag someone down for a pen.

Stopped here on a Sunday late morning. Wow! SO Glad we did. My husband had the honey haze IPA and loved it. We split the 1/2lb brisket combo. It came with Mac n cheese, French fries, coleslaw and delicious cornbread. The brisket was top notch! They served it thickly sliced (just how I like) and it was as juicy and seasoned perfectly. I didn’t even need sauce! The place was super cute and clean. Our server was very attentive and sweet. We’ll def be back and tell all of our friends

Visiting East Troy Brewery with my husband JC was like finding a new favorite spot where the vibe is just as good as the food.
We dove into a menu packed with some real hearty eats that hit the spot just right.Starting with the wings – oh, boy, were they a hit. Just the right amount of crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with sauces that had us licking our fingers clean. Whether you're a BBQ fan or a buffalo lover, these wings have got you covered.
Then there was the Pork Belly BLT. This isn't your run-of-the-mill sandwich; it's a thick, juicy piece of pork belly with all the BLT fixings. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you think, "This is why I love bacon."
The White Truffle Pear Pizza was something special. It's not every day you see those ingredients together on a pizza in Wisconsin, but man, does it work. It's got this fancy taste without being too out there – a real nice change-up from the usual. Can't forget about the Crispy Brussels Sprouts. Even if you’re not usually a fan, these could change your mind. They're sweet, they're garlicky, and they've got this truffle aioli that just brings it all home.
The Cheese Curds were spot on – beer-battered and served with some seriously good dipping sauces. It's like they knew exactly what we were craving before we even walked in.Ending with the Fish Fry, because no Wisconsin review is complete without one. This beer-battered cod was just how you want it – crispy on the outside, flaky and light on the inside. And those potato pancakes on the side? Just like grandma used to make.
All in all, East Troy Brewery feels like it's right at home here in Wisconsin. It's the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy some really good food, and just have a great time with good company. JC and I are already planning our next visit back.

Went to East Troy Brewery for a lunch hangout with my friends. We kicked things off with the Loaded Queso, which was packed with flavor and perfect with the chips. The Cheese Curds were a hit, perfectly crispy and meltingly good on the inside.
We also grabbed The Big Pretzel, massive and just right with beer cheese. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts were another favorite, with a delicious honey-garlic and truffle aioli.
For pizzas, the Shroomie was a standout, with its tasty smoked mushrooms and chimichurri. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was a winner too, spicy and perfectly balanced with coleslaw.
We wrapped up with the Americana Burger, hearty and packed with all the right toppings, plus some great fries.
The brewery's vibe, set in an old bank, added a unique touch to the whole experience. The food and beer were great, and the service matched the cool setting. Definitely a place to return to

This is an update. We went again in Oct/2023. Big disappointment. The menu was changed. Much smaller and a couple of our favorite items were gone (smoked chicken, fish tacos). We all ordered sandwiches, 3 burgers and a chicken sandwich. All the burgers were overcooked and dry. One was sent back, and the replacement was just as bad. After paying our check the server never returned to clear our plates. We bussed the table ourselves.
The only really good part of the meal was the beer, and the brussel sprout appetizer.
Such a big disappointment. This was a go to place for great food and server. I hope that they get constructive feedback, take it to heart and make necessary improvements.

Been here several times. The food has always been good. The building along with the history is very interesting. I like the fact that they have kept some of the more interesting architectural elements intact, including the safety deposit box room. The items that I feel are outstanding are the smoked chicken and the shrimp tacos. It's a hard decision. And you have to order the cheese curds. Some of the best in southeastern wisconsin.

I would never come back to this place ever again. Food service was horrible. We were with another couple and they finished their food before us. We were in the process of walking out when the manger told us they just delivered the food to the table and walked away. All the food runner asked all the tables around us if they needed anything. Not once did the come to our table.

A nice place. Too bad I have to leave this review. I used to manage a kitchen. This was totally unacceptable. The fault of management. 35 minutes just to get waitstaff. 40 more minutes to get appetizers. Over an hour after that to get a partial dinner. Two of the five guests. Then another 10 minutes for the third. Another ten minutes for the fourth. We took the last dinner, a pizza, to go. The pizza was burnt. We were not charged for anything. Rightly so. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday. Bluegrass fest accross the street. Staff completely overwhelmed. Two servers. The bartenders were trying to help. The hostes should have helped or at least informed us if the situation when we called ahead at 5pm. This establishment should stick to being a bar. I left one star because there is no option to leave no star. What manager, knew of a fest across the street and didn't plan accordingly. Absolutely pathetic.

This was my 2nd time coming to the East Troy brewery. Me and friend walked and sat right at the bar. We were greeted immediately with menus and was asked what to drink. Our bartender’s name was mark. He did an outstanding job with taking our drinks and getting them to us eighth away even with taking care of other customers. He would check on us to make sure everything tasted good and if we needed anything else. He was very respectful and had great customer service. I would definitely come back for sound 3!

While the atmosphere was cool, the service and wait for food is not worth it. The online menu does not align with the menu in the restaurant. They had no salads, Mac and cheese and were missing a few additional items. When we were sat they informed us they were out of the kids grilled cheese and Mac & cheese leaving our kids with very limited options. I ended up ordering the pretzel bites as my main meal because nothing else was appealing. After waiting 55 minutes (not an exaggeration!) my pretzel bites very stale and not hot, felt like they weren’t fresh. During our 55 min wait for food our server never filled our sodas or came to check in, apologize for the wait or offer us an app while we wait. After talking with some friends about our experience it sounds like this wasn’t an isolated occurrence. $8 kids pizza was very overpriced for the size of it.

I have been coming making the long drive to this place for several years because of their delicious pan pizzas, good beer selection, and great ambiance with an outdoor seating area with a walk up bar.
Unfortunately when we went, the outdoor walk up bar was closed in optimal summer weather. Instead, I have to do the work myself of order long my food/beverage on my phone via QR code, and someone from the bar will eventually run out your food and drinks (after 15 minutes my beer still wasn’t brought out and had to go in to ask). One of the bartenders was constantly running out drinks that evening due to the large number of people outside, it may have been more efficient to have someone man it.
The food was still good though as usual, but the loss of the outdoor bar where I can walk up and order and get a beer relatively quickly doesn’t entice me to come back to this place anytime soon. Anyone who is in this industry should know a good outdoor dining experience is quite popular this time of year.

Ate there for the first time on 5/19/23. The service was terrible. There seemed to be no one in charge. This place was run by teenagers and young adults. No one seemed to have any direction. The oldest person on staff that we could see was around 22 years old.
The fish fry was burnt, only choice for a side was french fries. Attempted multiple times to get refill on my cocktail… no water was offered. My wife ate her entire meal with her empty drink glass on the bar rail in front of her and no one offered a refill.
The decor and style of the place is nicely done, but management needs to step up or this place wont make it

In a day and age of being arm chair critics of restaurants I want to commend the East Troy Brewery. This establishment is one of the many businesses that make a small town visit unique and wonderful. As so much dining has become chain and cookie cutter the brewery brings character to East Troy, Wisconsin.
This is one business that has involved itself with the community from its beautiful renovation of a historic bank done by local contractors, employing local people, and supporting the local businesses in conjunction with its own operation.
It is easy to judge the service but during these most challenging times what operation is not struggling to find and train talented members? In my opinion seeing local ladies and gentlemen doing the best that they can to provide a great experience is commendable and if not brought to the attention of management is all that is asked of them.
The menu is approachable, shareable, and complements the fine brews that are made on premise with creative and thoughtful structure. If you are a local or coming to East Troy for the first time, I highly recommend a visit for a drink, snack, or meal as its one of the many places that make this town a special place AND remember...you are supporting a small community one glass at a time. Shop local, drink local and support local!
Thanks for a wonderful experience! We will be back soon!

Great food and drinks, terrible service. Came here to celebrate my sister’s birthday with our family (8 adults 21+ and one infant). We made reservations several days ahead of time. When we arrived we were told a large group was taking a while and had been sitting for over 2 hours and that we would have to wait….what is the point of making a reservation, why not offer that group drinks to move and seat us?! 30minutes later we were offered to sit in the back room. Once seated by ourselves in the back room we ordered food and drinks. Food came and was delicious, drinks never did. We had to order off of QR code with no waiter for service due to being in the back room. Turns out the drinks orders went to the back bar computer which was not staffed or checked. Halfway through eating our food they came out with drinks and comped a few beers and our two appetizers. Heat was turned off and zero attempt was made to check in on us and improve our experience. They apologized once, and then repeated to not check and serve us additional drinks (it continued to go to the back bar register which was unmanned and unchecked). I had to ask them to bring my pregnant wife water and take off my last beer as we were finished eating and ready to leave. Food and drinks were good, service was terrible. The only one that went out of there way to check on us was the bus boy who finally brought my wife water (he was great!). Overall, as my first experience at this brewery, I would not come back based solely on the service.
Edit: spoke to management as we were about to leave about the situation and was offered a full refund based on our experience. The two hostesses tried to prevent me from talking to the manager about this experience. Manager rectified the situation with a full bill refund and stated that there was no excuses for our poor experience. Kaylee (I believe is the managers name) was very pleasant. I explained our situation and that if they want repeat business, that this is not how you treat customers. She stated business is short staffed and that was a factor. I understand that this is more widespread due to Covid, a simple communication about this would have had us more understanding (this is a reason why we place reservations ahead of time). Given they lack of a table and no drinks, you would have thought they would have made the effort to be more attentive to our group to improve our experience. However, they did not
Edit 2: manager came again and offered us tow free growlers and a birthday cookie for my sister. I have adjusted review to three stars from two. Again, she tried to rectify the situation once made aware. We never ask for free food/drinks, and prefer good service/food to begin with. I would return for the food and beer. I really hope this is a one off bad experience that others won’t endure. The manager’s positive attitude and pleasant demeanor is the only reason why I would come back here after the service (or lack thereof) that we experienced.

Very nice atmosphere and nicely decorated. Great fireplace and nice views of the square. My husband's brisket Sammy was delicious. The chocolate cherry stout was great. My Winter Kale salad, however, was unremarkable, marked up about 700% over cost, so I had to go home and make myself lunch. The staff did not give us a friendly greeting when we walked in, even though there were only two or three other customers. it felt very cold & unwelcoming. You have to seat yourself, scan a QR code for the menu, and then go to the bar to order it yourself. I left a 10% tip, and I thought that was too much. I think this place has a much greater potential.

A couple years ago I reviewed this place for five stars.
Things have definitely changed, and not for the better!
I keep hoping for things to go back to how it was, doesn’t look likely.
In a half a dozen visits since then, it’s hard to ignore the shortened menu, higher prices, and lazy staff, all which make this place average, at best now.
Ordering food or drinks, requires waiting in a ‘Ordering line’ at the bar now.
Even though there may be three bartenders, only one of them will pay attention to the line, and with neither a sense of urgency or pleasantry.
There is a food runner that does bring food from the kitchen, and he’ll ask you if there’s anything else you need, but if you say you could use a glass of water, he’ll tell you to go to the bar.
Going to the bar, for a glass of water, or anything, could mean a 5 - 10 minute departure from your table.
It seems the customers are somewhat frustrated with the process, and the staff is tired of dealing with them. The positive ambience in the room, is gone now.
