I went for the prime rib . I suggest you also go for the prime rib. It was cooked to perfection. The service was friendly , prompt , professional and courteous. I went early, it filled up around 6pm. There was a pianist that entertained the crowd. Fun was had by all. Kids and the folks with many seasons all enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the salad bar. Plenty of options . I would love to go back and enjoy the outdoor deck and bar. Looks like a really enjoyable spot. There is a camper lot in front of the lodge, looks really convenient to stay there and enjoy all the amenities.

Visited Eastbay a number of times during our stay in Holcombe. Perfect location with amazing views. Boat accessible. Live music on the patio. With views of a beautiful lake, I've always had high hopes of this restaurant. Sadly, those hopes are gone, as the experience I've had here twice now (June 22,2025 and August 19th 2025) and have been less than pleased to say the least.

Our first visit was a party of 2 for a birthday, usually a great, uplifting day. Unfortunately the long wait time, coldness from the staff, and overall disappointing food (aside from the one decent thing the skirt steak) made that a birthday to forget. Shrimp Scampi was just store bought noodles, with 4 to 5 small, anemic looking shrimp drowning in butter. Not scampi sauce, but straight butter. Could not eat. The pork belly bites were okay, albeit with an overly sweet sauce and tiny portion for the price. The asparagus that came with it should have never been accepted from the distributor, nor cooked and served (all 4 tiny pieces) and the corn on the cob was half a cob, that seemed like it was the frozen corn on the cob halves you buy at Walmart, and was inedible. The total time from order to food on the table was roughly 1.5 hours, while it was on the busier side, was still a long wait and not worth it.

Let's bring us to tonight. We ended up going there with a party of 4, when our normal family spot was closed for vacation. We regret it.

The salad in the salad bar was well past its prime, wilted and turning red. Chicken noodle soup on the bar and chili both seemed lime they came from a package and reheated, and the rest of the salad bar was just as "great" as the lettuce, and cross contaminated with everything else there. And who puts chocolate pudding on a salad bar? (Which eneded up being in other things like the carrots, eggs ect).

From time of ordering to time to recieving the food it was roughly 2 hours. The kicker is, there were 4 tables that sat after us (all of 4 people) and they received their food before us, even though we ordered before them. The food that came to the table was obviously heated in a microwave or stuck under a salamander for WAY too long. The chicken parm was lava on the inside, cold on the outside, on an ice cold plate, with sauce that tasted like it came out of a can and cheese that was just a film. To top it off, there wasn't any fresh basil as advertised. The salmon looked small, anemic and tasteless. The asparagus was well past its prime, woody and disgusting (again all 4 pieces) and the walleye was probably the worst excuse for walleye I've ever seen. It was so small I couldn't believe they would serve one peice or even accept it from the distributor. And the fries were cold, limp and disgusting.

When I brought these issues up the the waitress Brooklyn, we were told it was all hot fresh and great quality, when in reality I had walked past the kitchen to go the the restroom and saw our entrées sitting in the window a solid 10 minutes before we received our food. Mind you there was at least 5 different wait staff inside, 6 total tables populated inside and only a handful outside (mainly drinking).

To see all the comments from the owner saying "you should have brought it up while you were here" is hilarious as we did bring this up, multiple times and had nothing rectified.

This was disappointing, and as someone who has worked in restaurant kitchens I am ashamed for you, as I could never let the food I was served walk out of a kitchen.

Despite being one of 8 tables in the dining area, it took an hour and a half to get food. What we received was pitiful.

$20 for a walleye fillet smaller than your hand, with a baked potato, and four stalks of stringy asparagus.

$18 for a 3x4 inch piece of salmon with a single scoop of sweet potato mash and four stalks of stringy asparagus.

$21 a piece for left-to-die-in-the-window fries and a chicken parmesan, which was too hot to eat in the center and cold all around (microwaved).

We were the only table that was told we would have a wait for four entrees (because fish takes long to cook) as a six top that ordered after us ate and left before we were served.

Defensive, inattentive wait staff.

We were told our food was up then watched our waitress clean the six top, help ring up a customer, and run out to the bar tables before bringing food and swearing it didn't sit and wait (I saw it in the window when I walked to the bathroom several minutes before she said it was ready).

$80+ for food I wouldn't bring home to my dog. There are serious issues here.

You work hard for your money. Spend it somewhere else.

If you go here on a Friday night, be prepared to wait for a long time for your food. We arrived at 5:15 and the dining room was not crowded, we got seated right away. We had a party of six, we placed our order by 5:30. Five of our meals came out at about 6:45, the sixth meal that they obviously forgot came out with only a baked potato on the plate when the rest of us were mostly done with our meals. Then about 15 minutes later they brought another plate with the complete meal, by then the other five people were completely done with their meals.
We finally left the restaurant at 7:30.
This is totally unacceptable, whoever is managing their kitchen needs to do better.

It has been years since I've decided to go back to East Bay and I was so impressed. The place was beautiful. The camping all neat, clean tie-ups for the boats. The beautiful outdoors and the servers were fantastic. Definitely will be going back there again and again.

Was a guest at Eastbay Lodge this past Friday for a wedding and got to meet Jess and Kenzi the best bartenders in the area! The service was fast, friendly, and full of personality. They kept drinks flowing all night, handled the crowd like pros, and made every guest feel welcome. You could tell they genuinely cared about making the night special. We visited a few weeks ago and LOVED the new Eastbay! The atmosphere was incredible (the live music was so great!). We loved sitting outside with the music, watching the dock boys work their butts off docking all the boats and enjoying the view. We ordered the smashburger (12/10) with the truffle fries-AMAZING! Hubs had the pizza and said it was fantastic. Jenny, the GM, stopped by the table to check on our experience and suggested the huckleberry mule. It was so good!. We were genuinely excited heading into summer after hearing that East Bay was getting a fresh start with new ownership. The idea of this beloved spot being reimagined had our hopes high, and while we’ll admit there were a few growing pains early in the season, it’s been great to see how things have really come together over the past few visits.

Lately, the food has been great. You can tell the kitchen has found its rhythm. The waitstaff has also been wonderful: friendly, attentive, and doing a great job even on the busiest nights.

Yes, we’ve still experienced some longer wait times when it’s packed, but honestly, that just seems like the sign of a business that people are excited about. We’re hopeful that East Bay continues to thrive and becomes a staple for many summers to come!

We ordered a pizza (plus 10+ other entrees) and it came out with the one ingredient we had specifically asked to be left off. I politely pointed it out, and they admitted it was their mistake. When they said a new one would take 15 to 20 minutes, I asked them not to remake it and requested they remove it from the bill. I didn’t want to disrupt the meal for the rest of my family, so I offered to just share my wife’s entree instead.

But instead of honoring that, they went ahead and remade it anyway and insisted I pay for it, only offering a 50% discount on something I never wanted and didn’t eat. Their reasoning? “It was already going to be made.” Seriously?

To top it off, they automatically added an 18% tip because our party of 12 people, even though the experience was frustrating and poorly handled. When I tried to address it with the manager, she was defensive and dismissive, zero apology, zero accountability.

It’s not about the $16, it’s about being treated with basic respect as a customer.

Plenty of better options nearby that understand hospitality. Skip East Bay and go to Ted’s or Pine Ridge instead.

I ordered the cod while my spouse ordered the walleye. Same price for both but the cod was the quarter of the size as the walleye. The cod looked dry and my first bite in it had hair in it. My spouse’s walleye was undercooked and the breading was soggy. Not to mention they don’t offer a salad bar anymore. Menu and food was much better with previous owners. Used to be one of my favorite places, but not sure we’ll want to go back again.

Waitress comes back after a few minutes and says they don't have rice. 45 minutes later received fish that was way overcooked and sweet potatoes fries were raw. So thankful for Eastbay’s new ownership! The remodel looks great, while staying true to the original character. I have enjoyed fast service outside while listening to music on a busy weekend as well as a great meal in the dinning room. The miso scallops were cooked perfectly and the fried calamari was delicious! I have been spending my summers in Holcombe since 1998 and I have this business change hands many times. There have been many highs and lows over the years. I am so glad people that care about this place and the Holcombe community as much as I do are now in charge!

We have been here multiple times now since the new owners took over. We’ve tried various different appetizer's & dinner options. The shrimp app on the dinner menu is excellent! I often get the garlic knots and they are pretty good, could maybe use a little more garlic and butter for flavor, but I like bread either way! The smash-burger was great both times, I think the pickles are homemade but I wish that you did have just a plain hamburger dill for the burger. My husband really enjoyed the steak, the first time the asparagus was small and overcooked but the 2nd time it was excellent and spot on. My husband got the seasoned chicken once and it was dry, we told the server and she relayed it to the kitchen which is all we wanted, however still liked it! Sides were great. Mashed potato’s were great! Truffle fries are great! My dad had the prime rib which he really liked. Server forgot to ask his potato choice and it was his first time so it came with salad bar and then she chose a side salad with it which was a little disappointing but he was fine with it because he took it home. It was also extremely busy. We love the salad bar, miss the breadsticks on it for sure but that’s ok! We came by boat this last weekend and it was packed but we waited for a spot. My mojitos have been great each time & the beer has been cold. We will continue to come back as the food has significantly improved!

We went for the Sunday brunch buffet around 10:45. We were a party of three and we wanted to try East Bay with the new owners. Our server was good and the place was nice inside with a great view of the lake.
We were pretty disappointed with food on the buffet. The scrambled eggs were dry and overdone. The ham and chicken was dry also. There was mashed potatoes but no gravy. The choices were very limited for the price. I guess we expected more.
The bacon, sausage, and hash browns were good. I'd suggest adding fruit and/or toast to the brunch.
The salad bar was very good. We didn't try the build your own omelet.
We will be back and try them again but not for the Sunday brunch.

Ate here last Sunday night @530. Service was good! Food not good! We were so hoping the food would be better with the new chef! I had a simple grilled chicken sandwich (supposed to come with mayo or a some dressing). It came out dry with a literally white tomato and a piece of lettuce with a brown stem! Side salad was ok but the croutons were so hard you couldn’t bite them! My husband had Chicken Marsala that was a very small flat chicken breast with maybe 2 tablespoons of Marsala sauce and 2 mushrooms. The second time, was with a couple of friends. The service was alright. Had to wait almost 20 minutes for our server. The food was not great. The spaghetti and meatballs were so plain. We went to Eastbay for breakfast to celebrate a special birthday. We chose Eastbay because of the beautiful view from the dining room towards the lake. There were 5 of us and we all had a different and exceptional meal. I believe it was also very inexpensive for the quality, service, and atmosphere. We really want this business to succeed. The atmosphere and service were very good. However the food was way below par. We were a party of 4 and two of us had the pan fried walleye with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The walleye was cold, tasteless and dry. The asparagus should never have left the kitchen. The chef has to know when to pull an item rather than serve a vegetable that was not edible. The mashed potatoes and the mashed sweet potatoes were the only saving food items, along with the salad bar..
I hope the ownership takes a serious examination of their kitchen.
Because we want the new ownership to succeed we will give Eastbay another try and we are with a group that is considering them for a reunion. So PLEASE get kitchen issues solved.

We stopped in to enjoy a drink or 2. Was greeted by the hostess at the door and told her we just wanted to go to the bar. We seated ourselves at one of the bar tables. A waitress came to the table and asked if we were going to order. We told her we just wanted to have a drink. We were then informed that we needed to move and sit at the bar for drinks only. Bar tables are bar tables in my opinion. If not please put a reserved sign on them. My husband is somewhat mobility challenged so moving is not just getting up and walking with ease to sit elsewhere. The bartenders were a mix of friendly and seemingly overwhelmed or indifferent, hard to tell. One of them. I think her name was Sam, was fantastic!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Eastbay on Saturday the 5th of May, 2025. Given that it was the second official day that they were open, we were prepared to have some issues as the staff is all new. However, the experience was incredible. We both had the tenderloin fillet and it was cooked to perfection and could be cut with your butter knife. Service was spot on with not a single glitch. We returned on Sunday for breakfast and the smoked salmon eggs benedict and strawberry french toast were both amazing. The effort put into training the staff is evident. Service goes above and beyond. We are looking forward to the triumphant return of this newly polished gem to our community, and many more visits in the future.

I have been going to East Bay since 2001. Used to LOVE this place, but seems like everything has been going down hill. My fiancee and I go to this lake ALOT during the summer. I recently called trying to book my wedding here, but after 5 attempts leaving emails and voice mails, the new owners don't seem interested in booking, especially after being told that my date was available. We had our hopes on getting married at the lake we love, but another venue called back within minutes, so they get our special day. Bar business is tough enough but to ignore weddings...??? Hoping the new owners make some fast changes or this place will struggle. Sad......

Had the fish fry on my last visit. It was delicious.
Had chips and salsa. Liked that chips were warm and salsa was good. Also had the chili, which was fresh tasting, and a little sweet, which I liked. Also used the chips with the chili...yum.

As someone in the restaurant industry, I really try to be patient with staff, but the staff are not properly trained and don’t seem to know what they are doing. Asked for a margarita and the outside bartender made it with gold tequila, half the bottle of strawberry purée, sprite, and sour. Like what??? He was also pitting A1 is bloody Mary’s. Inside bartender was scooping ice with a glass cup which is also a big no no. The kitchen messed up half the orders and were not friendly when we expressed that to them. We were being extremely polite. If you work in the customer service industry, you have no business being rude to customers unless they are rude to you. This is a great place so id hate to not see it succeed.

Food was rough man. I mean rough. Would hate to see what their wedding food is like. Waitress was new so I understand the wait but she was very nice and friendly. Watched the bartender get upset with our Waitress for not doing anything.....the bar was empty. She should not have been complaining. Good atmosphere and games tho.

While it was raining the day we went to see a live band, and the band cancelled, still had a bite to eat and a drink and walked around. Beautiful grounds that I'm sure can get quite lively. I'll have to go back to see what it's like on a nicer day.

Attended the Choices CareNet Banquet.
The lodge is in a beautiful setting. Beautiful views. Food was very good. Got a chuckle over the ice cream scoops for butter and sour cream. Staff was efficient and cheerful. The knotty pine beam & stone interior was the quintessential northwoods

Thanksgiving Day overflow sent to tables in the bar, but then not followed up by waiter at all until we flagged one down 😀 It WAS a holiday so very busy. We get that. There seemed to be plenty of staff but staff not well organized. Their Facebook ad said parties of 4 or more needed reservations - 3 or less no reservation needed. We were a party of 2 so hadn't made reservation, but sent to bar and then fogotten.Here's the fix. Make a reservation no matter how small your party size....

Well done, East Bay! Thanksgiving buffet was great. Staff was on point, kind and friendly. Food was good. Plenty of turkey and ham. Stuffing was a Stove Top version Scalloped potatoes or mashed (too much garlic), gravy, corn, beans, lettuce salad, 2 cold salads and breads. Environment is beautiful! Desserts galore. Grateful for a nice venue to dine today at an affordable price! We will dine again another time for sure!

We had Eastbay do the catering for our wedding, everything was fantastic from the salad to the entrees all of it was absolutely top notch. Been coming here since I was a kid. It's changed throughout the years but it has always been the place to go in the Holcomb area. We ate outside back to back nights and the service was great. Plus we were able to bring our good boy and he loved the attention. Live music was great too.

Share the details of my experience. Just the facts. Where we're from, which is only about 30 minutes South of there, an Arnie Palmer is just lemonade and iced tea. Adding vodka, if desired, is an add on. And what kind of vodka? No dice here. My Dad, who is an 84 tee-totaler and kind enough to drive us out there, was given the alcoholic version. Asking what alcohol was in it, the server did not know.🤷 Food, being delivered, was auctioned off even down to the last person. 🤦🤷 Consistent, and very persistent, inquiring for plates might've been seen as professional. Had not 5, out of 6, people still been dining.
Dessert, having to be inquired about, showed up in stages 20-25 minutes apart, with the check in-between. When the last arrived, were we ready to pay? 🤦Menu states, understandably, that increases in the cost of food will NOT be noted on the menu. Ok, honestly, I get it. 🤷 Being rang up for items that we never ordered, were told were free and the wrong items I do NOT understand.
And, finally, the conclusion. Payment. A $109.26 tab, being paid for with $135, in cash, should not be receiving change of $17.74.
You wanted just the facts and here they are. You decide if you want share my "experience".

We had our wedding here this past Saturday. The employees at Eastbay made everything so easy and enjoyable for us. Dave has one of the most beautiful venues and you can't beat the deal he gives you!! Denise kept in contact with me and was so easy to work with. She was always there to answer all of my questions. Deb went over the top for us the night of our rehearsal and the day of our wedding. The whole crew was top notch. All of our guests absolutely loved the food. I would recommend anyone that is looking for the perfect venue for their upcoming wedding or get together check Eastbay Lodge out for sure!!

Good place for a large gathering.
The food was delicious and served buffet style. Beef medallions in mushroom gravy, chicken, tossed salad, cheesy Potatoes, seed potatoes, corn and a variety of desserts.

Had some onion rings while watching football game. Onions were real thick and batter crumbled off when you took a bite. Not too happy with those. Bar was great, bartender Joe was friendly and talked with alot of bar guests

Had my wedding there this past Saturday, 10.22.22 and let me tell you.
The staff, the food, the service through the WHOLE process has been amazing!
Dave and Denise are truly amazing to work with, they make sure you get exactly what you want.
My menu was out of the ordinary for most weddings, but Easy Bay accompanied so well.
I also rented out his Lodge that he owns. It was a beautiful place to make wonderful memories with my family and a great way to spend my wedding week.
Truly can’t say enough good things about Dave and the Staff at east bay.

My husband and I had our wedding at Eastbay exactly one year ago today and I wish I could go back! Initially I was nervous about having a "destination" wedding up north, but it was the best decision. Dave was so easy to work with and very responsive whenever we had questions. When we had to postpone due to covid, he made it so easy and was very understanding. When the weekend finally arrived, his staff was always there to help if we had any questions or concerns. It was such a perfect day, and our guests had a blast! They still bring it up when we see them. I will be forever thankful that we chose Eastbay for our wedding venue!

We had our wedding here about a month ago and had a great experience. The staff at our wedding was amazing and always asked me exactly what I wanted if they didn’t know the answer already. The food was good and everyone got through the line in a timely manner. The venue itself is beautiful and requires minimal decorating.
