The place is already small for the number of customers on certain days of the week and the delivery service by app super lousy. You practically eat with the deliveries on top of you.

A friend and I came in for lunch. Parking is ample compared to their old location. The atmosphere is bright, clean and inviting. We were quickly seated and our server immediately brought us lemon infused water. Our appetizer was the Schumei. Six pieces was a perfect amount for the two of us. You always have to be wary when it comes to their spice level. Too high and it will ruin the otherwise fantastic food. You can also supplement with the homemade chili oil they provide. I had the pad-Thai on spice level four, but could’ve come up one level. Great job by the kitchen staff!

The most amazing Thai food ever, I promise!!! Not just the best in the MKE area, but hands down the best Thai food I've ever had across the U.S. (I've been to Thailand, so I know authentic, delicious Thai food when I taste it!)
My husband and I have been going here for years and will go out of our way to come here. Literally everything on their menu is delicious, and the staff is super friendly. And, they don't go easy on spice when you ask them for "spicy". Which, I love! My husband is from India & I have inadvertently trained myself to endure spice through knowing him for over a decade. So when I say we both like legitimately like spicy food, I mean hella SPICY. At EE Sane, you can order food so spicy it's surprising it doesn't burn through skin! And it still tastes incredible!
I've been here so many times and will continue to come back! 10/10 recommend.

This was my first visit to this store, and the initial impression was its clean and inviting ambiance. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that we were comfortable and well-catered to our needs. Even the chef personally visited us to ensure that the food was of the highest quality.
To the main point, the food was absolutely delicious and incredibly tasty. It’s an excellent place for a lunch or dinner date.

On our way back from an exhausting road trip, we stopped the night in Milwaukee and decided to order in some Thai. Having a decent sense of what Thai food should be, and a high tolerance for spice, we selected the beef rice noodles & a tom kha soup (spice level 4) and a beef salad (spclice level 6) I’m not sure who was closing the restaurant that night… but what was prepared and sent to us via Uber eats was HORRIFIC. On a scale of 1-10, the spice levels were a 20! Absolutely inedible and made us all sick. We had no choice but to eat some of it since it was a late dinner, and the restaurant promptly closed right after our delivery at 10.30. Neither Uber Eats nor the restaurant have been accountable for this gross waste and genuine harm caused.
Please, don’t order from here. And if you do, make sure they understand what you mean when you say MODERATE on your selection 😣

The Pad Thai was incredible, included great flavor, reasonable price, and a solid portion. Green Curry (chicken) was also a hit, well crafted blend of spice, consistency, and stir fry veggies that soaked up the perfect blend of the dish. Atmosphere was peaceful and clean. Service was attentive and courteous. Will be returning for the best tasting Pad Thai in Milwaukee thus far!

Excellent Thai/Lao food! We rolled in with 4 adults and 2 kids and zero reservation a few hours before the Wisconsin State Fair. They were slammed but they still found us a table within a couple minutes after first saying 30 minutes (yay!). Service was slow since they were clearly understaffed, but staff stayed attentive with drinks and water.
The food was absolutely worth the wait! The Shumai were huge and filling, loved by both the kids and adults. The Masaman Curry Beef was tasty with just the right spice. But the star was the Pork Larb. It was bright, tangy, perfectly seasoned, and unforgettable. I even had the leftovers for breakfast the next morning.
Overall: slower service, but excellent food. The larb alone makes it worth coming back.
NOTES/TIPS:
**Your choice of protein and heat on most of their dishes.
**Walkable from Milwaukee's Lower East Side- the historic area by the Milwaukee River.
**Easy street parking- not busy.
**Online ordering for takeout and delivery on their website.

Classic EE Sane restaurant currently operating down the street as Lemongrass while the original location undergoes renovation.
Tasty food, chic vibe in cozy venue with devoted clientele.
Hubby and I enjoyed fresh spring rolls, green curry, and drunken noodles.
We like medium spicy; the sauces have enough taste that even a mild here would be enough.
We finished everything! 😋

I used to be a regular at this place, usually coming in the evenings and even recommending it to my family and friends. I visited more than three times a week. Today was my first time doing a lunchtime pick-up, and it was extremely disappointing.
The service was terrible. I was in a rush, yet I had to wait 50 minutes — 10 minutes past the scheduled pick-up time. The staff were inattentive and indifferent. Shockingly, the front desk person was drinking bubble tea while I stood nearby waiting, and not even a sip of water was offered.
After this experience, I will no longer be recommending this place to anyone, and I won’t be coming back.

EE-Sane has been one of my favorite restaurants on the lower east side for a while now. Great quick service & reliably delicious authentic Thai food for a very reasonable price, the spring rolls & Thai tea are some of my favorite fallbacks but I’ve never had a bad dish in the years I’ve been going here. Milwaukee’s got relatively limited options when it comes to solid Asian cuisine so I feel lucky to live just a short walk away from one of the best options around.

Cute Hidden Gem with Delicious Thai-Lao Flavors!
I recently visited Ee-Sane Thai-Lao Cuisine, and it was such a lovely experience! The restaurant has a soothing and stylish vibe with cute décor and a cozy, medium-sized layout that makes you feel right at home.
The food was absolutely delicious! I tried the sticky rice with Taro custard for the first time, usually I go for mango custard—but this version was rich, smooth, and paired beautifully with the rice. (They do offer fresh mango if you prefer that classic combo!) The iced Thai tea was perfect and served with an orchid, cute and super photogenic and refreshing.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and enjoyable to chat with. It’s one of those charming spots that’s easy to miss from the street, but once you’re inside, you’re glad you found it. Definitely a place I’d return to and recommend to friends looking for authentic and comforting Thai-Lao dishes in a welcoming setting.

This restaurant might have the best Thai food in the city! The Tom Kar soup that came with the lunch special was unlike any soup I've had before - a fresh coconut base, citrusy, and full of veggies. Extremely slow service for online order placed at 745 pm on a Saturday. The website said 2 hours after payment without option to cancel. I reached the restaurant at 830 pm hoping the order would be ready as it was a single dish & was told I was early. Then I came back to the restaurant at 920 pm and it was still not ready for pick up. Finally, I asked the restaurant to cancel the order because they weren’t ready with food even at their closing time. It was terrible waste of time and gas with no food :( The restaurant shouldn’t take orders if they’re overwhelmed and cannot manage to avoid bad customer experience.

This is my favorite place to eat in MKE, high and middle end. The menu is deep and varied, a good mix of classic Asian and specific Thai dishes. The food is excellent and complexly flavored and you can choose your spice level. Takeout is always made fresh, well packed and hot. And dine in has great service and relaxed atmosphere.

Literally the best Thai food I have ever had. My whole family (who hails from Asia) absolutely love it, too. Not to mention, I've been to the motherland (Thailand) and this restaurant still reigns supreme - no other restaurant I've ever tried in the U.S. even comes close.
I've been coming here for well over a decade, and I've consistently received flawless food. The people who work here are so friendly as well! They always get our orders right, and our food always comes in a timely manner.
PLEASE NOTE: They do "Asian spicy" here (because it's an authentic restaurant, duh), so don't be upset if you specifically order spicy food and can't handle it.... Looking at you, white people... If you're unsure, I'd order a 1 or 2 on the spicy scale - they can always make it more spicy if needed. For anyone who actually can handle their spice, well, the sky is the limit. My brother-in-law consistently orders a spice level of 15 here (which would send most people straight to Dante's inferno). I get a 5-6 usually, and I can handle my spice pretty well. Proceed with caution. For what it's worth, though, the food tastes amazing. Even if you order a dish that's too spicy, you'll want to keep eating through the pain because it's just that good.
I usually go with curry (panang or massaman are my go-to) and a thai iced coffee, but I've tried mulitple dishes and I've always been impressed by the complexity of flavors in each one.
Overall, 11/10. Cannot recommend enough.

The food is good. This is one of my favorite spots on the East Side, but the service and experience has declined significantly since they moved to their temporary location. I ordered takeout and the automatic online response told me it would be a 45 minute wait. I got there 50 minutes after I placed my order and I still had to wait about ten minutes for the woman working to come out of the kitchen with my food. The restaurant only had two tables, and I am very confused as to why my food took one hour to prepare. Also, the prices are outrageous now!

Delicious food but they DO NOT REGULATE SPICE levels at all. We ordered 2 EE Sane noodles, one spice level 3 and the other 4 (out of 10)...
First off they were mislabeled, but whatever. But the 3 tasted completely spiceless. The 4 heavily burnt my mouth and I could not eat more than a few forkfulls. Yes, this is coming from a guy who cant tolerate a ton of spice, but it affected my wife the same way who likes spice. This has happened multiple times over the years and it's frustrating at this point to never know what spice level there will be and if it will be edible for me.

Went here today with a friend of mine. We got the Crab Rangoon and EE Sane Rolls to start and both were really good and the plum sauce that was served with them was really good and better than the typical sweet and sour or duck sauce you see. I got the Curry with Rice Noodle and did the spice level at 4 and it was a perfect amount of heat (it hits you when you take a bit but doesn't intensify when you swallow) and my friend got the Lard Nar with shrimp and he did a spice level of 5 and really enjoyed it. We both really like spice and agree to be aware when picking a spice level like other reviews (luckily I was aware before I came). The flavors are incredible here and the service was pleasant. I 100% recommend stopping by.

Beware of the spice levels! We’re a family that are no strangers to spicy food and can typically handle it quite well. So my we chose 5/10 as the spice level on our online order (which felt like a safe choice - after all we didn’t want something bland!). It was CRAZY spicy. Like literally we couldn’t even eat it. The flavours seemed good but because of our mouths being on fire, I couldn’t really tell. I wish they had some sort of warning that their 5/10 is what others may call 12/10. If I am honest they need a far better way of explaining their scale. Disappointing given all the good reviews, not to mention it being such a waste of $$$.

Ohhhh so delicious! We started with tofu Tom Kar (kha) and it was full of fresh veggies: summer squash, broccoli, mushrooms, bok choi, bamboo shoots, cilantro, and more. The broth was creamy and lightly spicy—thankfully we had leftovers and will enjoy it tomorrow.
For our main course, I got the cashew shrimp, mild spicy with added pineapple (I like my food a bit sweet). The veggies, again, were fresh and al dente. The heat was just enough to let me know the kitchen paid attention, but not enough to burn my mouth. I would definitely order it again.
My partner got the veggie drunken noodle. He got his at a 3 heat and really felt it but not too much to where he didn’t enjoy the flavor of the dish. The gravy was mildly sweet and savory.
The music was a wide range from blues to hip-hop to Asian pop. I enjoyed it playing softly in the background.
Well done EeSane!

Delicious food, great service. Egg roll appetizer was really unique with a nice thick fried crust and a tasty dipping sauce. Highly recommend the squash curry.

We tried many items on the menu and enjoyed every single one! Personal favorites include the pad thai (a classic, of course), beef noodles, thai tea, coconut water, and fried fish (such a great sauce on it). We ended up with plenty of leftovers, and those reheated quite well too. On top of that, there was a large variety of halal options, which isn't always the case with Thai cuisine, so we appreciated it. The speedy service was great, and everyone was so mindful with the elderly members in our party. Would definitely eat here again!

I love coming here for crab rangoon. I did have some issues in the past but has since been great experiences. Good luck all.
Drove from Mequon, WI to get some soup that was highly recommended. I did not get the soup as they stated that they open at 11am and I am still sitting here at 12:00, no posted updates on door or new hours post. We have watched 4 people grab at the door, sit, and wait like us and ultimately leave. If you live a bit aways call before coming because there isn't updated information for Google or on the door. Good luck.
Update: We did get the soup when they actually opened at 12:45. The soup was good, but call before going because this was almost 2 hours after they are scheduled to open. We went to pizza shuttle and when we came out they were going in to open so we decided to get it. Good luck.

Atmosphere is super cute and there’s plenty of seating. Food here is always so good and to be honest the prices are very reasonable compared to the surrounding options. Staff is very sweet and attentive, always asking if we need anything else and giving to-go boxes. It’s very clean and spacious too so I could see us coming back when family is in town

Enjoyed an early dinner...the restaurant was very clean and inviting. I ate the EE-sane rolls with the Chicken Ka Pad Pow which was very good. The owner...Happy informed me that they've been in business for 30 years with Grandma in the kitchen.

The quality of service and food has recently declined. We waited 40 minutes for a table and over an hour for our food to arrive. The taste of the food is not as good as it used to be. I cannot recommend this place until the issues are resolved.

WOW - amazing!! My husband and I are very passionate about thai food and it's hard to find a place that has good red curry AND padt thai! Both dishes were very good. Tom Kha soup was also very good. I live 30 minutes away and by the time I got home the crab rangoons were still crispy and delish. Will be back!

Nice intimate restaurant with soothing Gold Thai Laos ✨️decor. They have a nice Lunch Menu. BEEF 🥩 Pho🍜 was delicious, was a very generous portion 🧑🏻🍳 Served with FRESH bean sprouts, cilantro, mint, sliced jalapeños. Along with the use of a Spiciness Scale, for our Singapore noodles, which were made-to-order, to our desired spiciness taste. It is a wonderful place to get authentic Thai Laos Cuisine!

Awful counter service... I had ordered pick up; I was over charged at the register.
The online menu price for Eesane noodle (lunch) was $2.00 less than what I was charged.
When I questioned the price discrepancy, the cashier gave me two different reasons!
One being the in restaurant menu price and the other being, the vegetarian price version???
I placed my order, after I had read, the online menu meal description and the actual price listed.

The food is mediocre at best. It's a decent take out or delivery place if you want run of the mill "take-out" style Thai food. Pad Thai was oddly sweet and extremely spicy like they just throw on chilli sauce to adjust spice level. Once again this is fine for a take out style food but not for a sit down place. I got the Ee Sane noodle special as well, this was also oddly sweet. Chicken chunks were too huge to be appetizing and tasted like they were just boiled in water. Chili sauce thrown into the noodle that was not mixed in. As a result I had a oddly tasting plate that was mostly sweet except for when I dug into the chilli sauce lathered portion.
I will say that portions are generous. And cost reasonable. So if you temper your expectations, and go in looking for fast-take out style Thai food, then this place is fine. I find it odd it's so highly rated on Reddit and local Milwaukee magazines. The pad Thai literally doesn't taste like any pad Thai I have had before.

The food is great, the service is great. The food just never misses, and they absolutely do make food spicy if you ask! There is a review about not liking restaurants without a parking lot. Um, they're on the East Side? Walk or take a bus or ride a bike, or park a few blocks away. It's a busy and dense part of the city...that's why there are so many great places like this! Servers are always very nice. I think the atmosphere could be improved a bit with maybe some new color on the walls and a change in lighting, but overall, great food.

I’m pretty forgiving when it comes to restaurant service, but unfortunately we were feeling underwhelmed after our meals. The only vegetables in our food were cabbage and broccoli, no peppers or baby corn or anything in the noodle dishes that would usually include a variety of fresh vegetables. My friend ordered a curry that was supposed to have potatoes and tofu and she only got about 4 pieces of potato in the whole curry and was searching through heaps of onion and what seemed to be frozen broccoli for any sign of tofu or pepper. Additionally, we paid 13 dollars for soju and also purchased some miller lites and they were taken away from us before we even had the opportunity to finish drinking them, which is extremely disappointing. Overall, I was really excited to try this restaurant out, but the quality and service fell short.

I have yet to find a better thai curry in Milwaukee. I occasionally try something else from EE-Sane, but I always find myself going back to the red curry. It's a very rich and creamy sauce that has great flavor. Their 1 -10 spice scale is no joke. I like spicy food, but I won't go higher than a 7 from this place. My only complaint is that they use a lot of onions in their dishes. I like onions, but it's almost as if they're used as filler in place of other more expensive vegetables. I also like that they finally got with the 21st century and added a website with online ordering.

The food here was just ok. Large portions for lunch, but very little flavor. The best part about lunch were the egg rolls. Both of our main dishes looked and tasted the same, even though we ordered completely different dishes. It was very odd. Our server was great, but the atmosphere was terrible. It was 85 degrees outside, and it felt 80+ inside. It was not a great dining experience.

I've somehow been tricked into going here a second time, I should've left a review for the first time as a reminder. Folks on milwaukee reddit RAVE about this place but I just do not see why or how.
Their Pho? meh. Their pad thai? meh.
Ugly interior. Service was fine.
I wouldn't call the food bad but it's just so… average or even below average. There's just so many better options elsewhere, do better.

I went in really hungry on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! Large portions, I got three meals out of their flavorful curry. Some of the best fish cakes I've had in years. Good size dining room with large tables that can accommodate bigger groups. Their menu is pretty extensive. More types of curry than I've seen anywhere outside of Thailand. Usually places that have too many things on the menu, in my opinion, aren't that good because they have to store too many ingredients for the food to be fresh but these guys are on point. I'm assuming due to their name and being billed as Lao-thai that they're serving Isan regional dishes. I will definitely be back!

We went for lunch and it was fantastic. We were treated to a light, crispy shrimp and crab cake, grandma's recipe to start. Then we had fresh spring rolls and crab Rangoon, both were lovely. We all had different entrees, curry's and crispy noodles. They were so flavorful, so delicious. I love hot food, I worked at a Thai Lao restaurant for many years so I understand hotness, I got a 5 out of 10 and it is HOT, they don't lie. The staff was so sweet, service was great and the chef even came out to say hi. We will definitely be back.
