I haven’t been “wow”ed by a restaurant in years, and this place was off the charts! The service was top-notch, with our server being very friendly and helpful during our visit. They have indoor seating with a small bar, as well as a patio for outside diners. They bring a very visually authentic atmosphere, which even includes complimentary red, white and green chips that accompanied the red salsa, white cheese sauce and green sauce! All three sauces were so flavorful that we agreed our tastebuds were already satisfied, even if we didn’t order a meal, but of course we did.
We ordered two dinners: the al pastor tacos and the pollo con mole- both excellent and filling dishes. The mole sauce was better than we have been able to find in over 20 years.
We will definitely be back to try more of the food here, as it was quite difficult to choose from their large selection of dishes on the menu.
Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

The food is really good. Service was friendly. But the item I ordered stated $20 on the menu. When I received the bill it was for $30. My buddy ordered the exact same thing. $30 on his bill too. Kind of steep for just a sandwich. (We both had waters, nothing else). They should probably fix the price on the menu.

I’ve always loved this place! However, since they switched owners their food is BETTER THAN EVER! I ordered a combination trio with the Verde chicken tamale, beef chile relleno & a beef enchilada and it’s AMAZING! My son had a quesadilla and double rice. Their mojitos are to die for !! And they now give you 3 dips for your chips, all are amazing !! Highly recommend this restaurant! By far the best Mexican food in the Fox Valley area! We had such a nice time. We walked in to a very welcoming staff. They celebrated a guest's birthday and the entire restaurant sang happy birthday for the guest and they offered everyone a free shot to cheer with the birthday guy. A great little place to grab some Mexican food, with delicious burritos and really tasty i'm guessing homemade flan for dessert, this was a nice place to visit for lunch, the food was served in a good sized proportion as well as it tasted really good, I would definitely stop in again in the future and maybe try some other delicious options on the menu, oh and I was surprised that there chips came with multiple sauces to, something I would love to see at other Mexican restaurants! This was our first time here! I saw one of their House Margaritas online looked very similar to Solea’s House margarita so I HAD to try it to see if they taste the same!! Surprisingly they are very similar in taste! Only El Sabor’s version doesn’t seem as strong tasting, but I enjoyed it very much! This time I tried an appetizer and he tried the fried ice cream! Both were very flavorful and well worth the cheaper price! He is picky about fried ice cream because some places do not actually fry the ice cream but this place has a delicious crunchy fried shell coating the ice cream! Our server was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very inviting and chill! Beautiful little hidden gem! We will return to try full meals soon! :)

Food for some reason is not the same as it was when first opened. Had a spinach and mushroom burrito and it did not have like any flavor and was just mainly spinach. the last time probably a few yrs ago had one and it had flavor and alot of mushrooms not filled with just spinach. I usually receive great customer service here and delivery goes smoothly. Not today. The so called manager, I believe some kid named Diego, was extremely rude. I was delivered the wrong order, I called and he explained what must have happened and I said ok can my order be delivered, he said I was delivered more food than I originally ordered anyway, I can just eat that. Wow! He then said I can bring that order back to the restaurant and he will make my order. I said I can't come in, that's why I got delivery. He said well I can't do anything about the delivery so I said just give me a refund. He said fine and hung up on me. He was extremely rude. It's unfortunate because the food is good.

What a great place. My wife and I happened across this restaurant and thought we would give it a try. So glad we did. The food was amazing, also got free chips and salsa while we waited for our meals. The salsa was excellent, we thought the green salsa was a chili type salsa, which turned out to be a creamy jalapeño salsa. Too hot for me, but some people may like it. Prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. We both ordered chimichangas, and they were very good. Small little place ran by a family, not a big chain. Nice to support a local business. I have been to this restaurant 3 times, this being the first as take-out. I have gotten the Avocado Salad with Shrimp every time which is $14 before tax. This is the first experience where half of the lettuce was rotten and half of the avocado was very brown. I was extremely disappointed with the meal especially since it’s a $14 salad. I won’t be returning. If you don’t have the ingredients to make it correctly with the appropriate freshness don’t serve it.

It was very short staffed, it took a long time for us to get to order even our drinks. A table of 8 came in after us as he the serverc helped them first. By the time we ordered our drinks, we were ready to order our food.
I was extremely disappointed. My burrito was beyond soggy. The pulled chicken was soaked and flavorless, though the portion was large. My friends Chorizo was very dry and bland.
We brought it to the attention of the waitor and decided to leave, not eating or taking our food.

However, the Margarita wasn't bad. Not worth the 13$ I was charged, but not bad.

We ordered two taco Mexicano's. The chips we perfect tasting fresh and crisp. The food came out quickly, super filling. Added a Tequila Sunrise. Really tasty!

The food was excellent. We both had fajitas. The top notch food was overshadowed by the very slow service. There was only one other person in the restaurant - it was 5 minutes before we were given menus and almost 15 minutes before our order was taken. Would try again for the food on a non work day.

Didn’t get any pictures (that’s what happens when you bring your baby out to eat with you) but it was an excellent meal! I feel like 75% of the restaurants in the Fox Valley are closed on Sundays… not El Sabor! This has quickly become our new Sunday spot!

The white queso with chorizo added was delicious and a great size for the price! We also had the beef flautas and Al Pastor tacos—so good!

The food came out fast and the service was excellent! Our server brought us the Pineapple Water on accident, and happily brought out the House Margarita when we asked if it was supposed to have pineapple in it. And alcohol 😅😉 They were friendly and attentive whole meal!

This place was just delicious, plain and simple! Server was super nice, and courteous. We got a free appetizer coupon for visiting for the first time which was nice! Definitely will be back!
