Ordered 2 chicken salads. As always we ordered extra cheese on both and did not get it. And today tops it..there was barely any rice in either order and they looked very sloppy. The little bit of rice tgat was in the salads was seperatedd from the other stuff. There also is NEVER hardly andy tomatos but literally 1 thin slice of tomato on each with barely any veggies that were hard as a rock. The green pepper had rotten parts on them and did not taste right. And I never put any reviews whether they're good or bad online, however, when I called them to let them know that this has happened the last 4 times my mom and I ordered out all I heard was that I SHOULD HAVE ORDED the extra cheese on the side..and that I coukd come back and get some more rice, which sounded to me as if I was in the wrong for calling. And going in there to eat is a joke as well...they laugh and giggle like woman are a piece of meat. Times are rough fir everyone but if I'm going to pay for extra cheese then that's what I should have. The reason I don't order extra veggies is because there were never extra of those. We're done with this place all together with how he just tried to make all of this my fault. And I'm sorry but who wants to leave to go get a little bit more extra dry rice that should have been in there to begin with. So I agree with the one ppst...used to be good and worth it and now it isn't

I was two years ago and it was good for being so far north now it sucks. They burnt the meat the over cooked the shells it tasted good but not as good as the last time. I think they try to hard to please the northern folf and forget that simple makes it good. I had two good tocos out of four. 50 50. It's still better then any fast food toco joint at any time. I enjoyed the food and service. Salsa was flavorful and consistency was good. It was served with separate dishes so no one double dips a chip! Bonus! Chips were very good as well. Margarita perfecto!
I ordered the tropical quesadilla and it was very tasty, great balance of different meats, fresh pineapple and bacon gave it a nice salty kick. Food was hot when it arrived too!
The exterior appears to be an old fast food restaurant, and the interior is completely changed with chairs, table and booths that are typical Mexican flare. Service was excellent, this was during a very busy Friday night.

The chips and salsa are FANTASTIC. I think this salsa is the best I've ever had at a restaurant before.

This place is a hidden gem. I admit to being skeptical about El Tequila when we first got there. But, it quickly won me over. The decorations are brilliant and warm. It very much reminded me of when I was living with my family in Mexico. A lot of love went into all of the art. The prices were fair for the area. They had a lot of American-friendly options and some authentic choices. All three of their salsas were delicious, but the salsa verde is what I recommend. It's a very good "on everything, every day" salsa. The hotter red salsa was better in my opinion but would require a tolerance for spicy food. I had the tacos al pastor and couldn't be happier. They were juicy, crispy, had lots of flavor, and the tortillas were very good. My complaints are noise (there was a baseball game on), our server was very nice and took care of everything we needed, but was a bit quiet and clearly quite busy, and finally, I would like to see a few more dishes that are not American style. So, yeah, nothing big. My lunch mates got more American style food and it was very good but limited by the necessity of being where they are.

If you find yourself within an hour of Antigo, you need to stop at El Tequila.

We had a wonderful dinner experience at El Tequila. We had a variety of their dishes with their combination plates -- burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and a nice margarita. I had the vegetarian fajitas, and the pile of grilled veggies was great -- and an incredible value. Service was prompt and very friendly. The staff is not overly smiley, so I could see some people feeling a bit unsure, but everyone who helped/served us were very friendly. Now, you might have to specifically request hot food -- we love mild, and all our food was mild to low-medium heat, so we were happy. Excellent flavors, but if you like your Mexican food hot, you might want to ask for some extra heat. Colorful decor should help keep kids dazzled -- it has a festive atmosphere.

We're in town for a week and we will definitely go back one or two more times!

Food has always been great. The hours recently changed which we didn't know. The servers sat and stared at us while we ate instead of letting us know their hours changed. We felt rushed and when we walked out the one guys says, " you don't like your service?" I explained that they close at 10 and we felt rushed. He said, no... the hours changed. I explained I didn't know. He said "thanks for the tip" and walked away. It was extremely rude and unnecessary. I can not believe I was treated with such disrespect. No wonder why they are closing early. I hope they lose more business and have to close even earlier.

It was my first time visiting this quaint restaurant. The atmosphere was exciting and so reminiscent of Mexico. From the picturesque tables to the carved chairs and wall hangings, I felt like I was back in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. The food was delicious and authentic. The portions were large. The service was excellent. The staff were so attentive to every table and did not leave anyone wanting for anything. I will go back every time I need to feel back at home in Mexico.
