Some of the food had a stale taste: not like it was dangerously old, but just kind of stale.

They did have real ice cream that was good and firm, not melted. Chocolate and vanilla. Good!

Anyway,we were happy to find a Chinese buffet in Shawano, Wisconsin. Open Sunday. $15.00 per person. Cash.

I have been here many times. Food usually good. Today as I was eating my rice I found a spiraled metal fragment in it. I informed the staff and nobody apologized or seemed concerned about the foreign object in my food. After this happened I lost my appetite and they still charged me full price. We got on a week day before 2pm, we finished eating but stayed chatting with my parents and because we went to pay around 3:20 they charged us the "nite price". The excuse of the girl was that it was passed 3pm it didn't matter that we arrived and ate before that hour.
They never gave us the paper with the amount to pay like they usually do.

Honestly, this place needs to be shut down. My fiance bit into a piece of chicken that was BLOODY. I walked up to one of the workers and told her and all she said was “okay” and walked away. No apologies or explanation whatsoever. Then when I went up to pay I asked if it was possible to get a discount because of what happened and the worker I showed the piece of chicken to, said “I’m eating a piece of the chicken now and it is done no need for a discount”. I wish I would have taken a picture of it because she sure made it sound like I was lying or something. I am absolutely disgusted by the food and the attitudes from the workers. Horrible place

Just moved into town from the West Coast and I was really hoping to like this place since Asian is my absolute favorite (it was so amazing and plentiful where I moved from), but it was gross. I left hungry. Couldn't even stomach more than a few bites. Not even going to cross my mind to think about going back here again. Hunan will be my place in town. It's not San Francisco style, but it's decent NY style that was totally worth the money.

We ate here tonight after going to a movie. The food was cold and had been sitting around for a long time! Things were extremely salty even for Chinese food. The soup was not very hot and there was a hair on the garlic bread piece. After paying $31 for the two of us I ended up vomiting most of what I ate in the parking lot. I would not eat here again!

Honestly used to love this place as a kid. But I left and came back and the food is worse now. The service leaves much to be desired they are usually very kind though. The price hasn't changed much which is a good thing. If you wanna stuff your face and fill your belly go ahead but don't expect anything to blow you away. The sushi is better from kwiktrip, they almost never have Wasabi or ginger with it.

The food was so nasty it looked old like it was sitting under the warmer for hours and some of it was cold and the labels for the food was wrong I didn't know what I was putting on my plate, I used the restroom and when I got in the stall the floor was leaking water it was dirty, and the service was the WORST there were two ladies working and they where more busy having their own dinner and talking then caring about the guests. Definitely not worth the time or money and the health department needs to go there ASAP.....

Me and my boyfriend went in to eat dinner. We went up to get our food after being seated down and everything looked like it had been sitting out for a long period of time. I was going to get sweet-and-sour sauce for my crab Rangoon‘s and it had formed a thin layer of hardness on the top. You couldn’t even stir it. We tried to take a few bites and it just did not taste like Chinese food and it was hard to chew. We do not recommend you go there. We also paid $31 for the both of us for not even eating a plate of food each.

Visiting while traveling a while back and it was good. But went back recently and they have given up! The girl who sat us was not even nice, the seating area was sloppy, and then once we went to the buffet it was dried, old left out for some time. Granted it was late lunch time we visited but when your paying full price it should be fresh and enjoyable at all times. Don’t punish your customers with old food. We liked it before, we wish the owners would fall back in live with their restaurant and see that their customers would support them like they have for so many years and leave happy knowing they had good fresh food and owners and staff would be happy too. Honestly customers just want a good experience.

This restaurant is an all-you-can-eat buffet. I have never been offered a menu in any of my dining experiences here, and I am fairly certain they do not offer any dishes other than what is served on the buffet tables. The quality of the food available on the tables is usually decent, but I have on occasion been there to dine when there were very few customers and found some dishes rather dried out, unappealing, and unappetizing. I have only had experiences like this a couple of times, but I have learned to avoid it as a dining choice for myself when eating out at irregular hours because of them.

During normal lunch and dinner peak hours, however, the food is generally being cycled through and refilled with freshly prepared batches frequently. I have seldom been disappointed with the quality of any of the dishes I enjoy during such dining experiences.

I have been to all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets that offer a much wider variety of choices than they have at Emperor's, but in all fairness, those buffet restaurants were in bigger, busier, and more populous cities and have greater rates of possible and actual customers patronizing their establishments. I believe that Emperor's Buffet offers an adequate variety of dishes for the rate of business they receive. Which is just them being prudent about food costs, wasted product, and is overall just good business practice.

They have a Hibachi but it's not in use. The items on the buffet were typical for Chinese Buffets though many of the ones you usually see at buffets were missing especially Seafood items. Three of the five chicken dishes that I tried were very tough and not acceptable at all. The fried foods were good so are the dumplings but this is one place I will not return to. I eat it many Chinese restaurants and this was very below average. On a plus side the staff were very friendly and can't bring beverages to my table.

Good food/Great Service. We are not locals and learned about it by Google Maps by typing in Chinese Buffet in the search. We were there on an off peak time (4:30 pm).

Every worker had a defined role. One person was cleaning the windows outside the building. Another was meticulously wiping down EVERYTHING on each table (table/salt/pepper/soy sauce/napkin dispenser). A third worker was talking over a microphone with kitchen staff regarding restocking buffet items and also directing incoming customers and handling the cash register.

You can look at the pictures I posted of the well stocked buffet that tasted good.

The one "weird" thing about the food arrangement was that the white rice was located along a back wall next to the soups (opposite wall) away from the buffet warmer foods. It seemed very out of place if you would like to place food over your white rice.

I was Very hungry for anything Asian the other day and was tempted to try Emperor's buffet again but could not muster the courage. I went to Hunan's (on Main st.) instead and was Not disappointed. So my last review stands for now. ---> 1yo review: The One Shining Beacon of Hope was the peppered shrimp - it was seasoned perfectly and was cooked just right. Other than that, someone(S) is screwing up badly. The lo mien noodles had no flavor - they tasted like plain noodles covered in a flavorless sauce. The fried rice wasn't even close to seasoned correctly, it tasted like it was seasoned with salt and pepper with cinnamon added as an experiment or a practical joke. The egg rolls also tasted strange and none of us could finished them. The last half-dozen times I've been here I've been mostly disappointed with the food. I don't think I need to come here again.

Nice selection of food. The staff was friendly and took care of us the entire time we were there. Drinks stayed full, plates got removed, food was refilled, all was well. They are being diligent in ensuring that they do thier part preventing the spread of Covid. They had plastic gloves for use at the buffet and masks are required until you are at your table. I'd definately return to this location in the future.
