I had biscuits and gravy and it was amazing. Sat down right away but we told our waitress we needed more coffee but it took her about 15 minutes to come back with the pot. She was very busy and felt bad about not getting our coffee and took a long time to get our checks. She was very busy. You have runners to bring food out but not a runner for coffee. When the boss is standing around not doing anything why isn't he filling up people's coffee. But every else was great.

Great atmosphere! Good service. Food is in question. Skillet, plain pancake, crepes were all pretty good in taste and presentation. Eggs Benedict eggs were served undercooked, but, redone satisfactorily. The Berry blast French toast was also good tho it lacked any kind of berry “blast.” Enter the blueberry cheesecake pancakes. Extremely disappointing! The picture shows the advertised Bb Cc pancakes vs what was actually served. The taste was about as good as it looks — not good. All in all, we are in 0 hurry to go back.

They do charge 3% credit card fee so bring cash if you don’t support giving money to credit card companies. Cash station also available onsite, but I imagine they charge higher fees than the 3% on your bill , but I didn’t use so can’t confirm.

The atmosphere is great! It kinda feels like a very high-end place but also has a very homey feel. The food was great. The potatoes in my meatlovers skillet were some of the best I've had since starting my Saturday breakfast trips! The fruit on the French toast was massive compared to most places I've been to. Plus they put different garnishes on each dish.

Our waitress was very delightful. She eagerly waited in us and answered what questions the other person who joined me asked. Plus after we were done, she was very friendly and talkative. Her name was Evelyn.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good breakfast and an amazing atmosphere. I plan on going again sometime!

We got seated right away on a Tuesday morning. Comfy and spacious booth. Waters were delivered and we browsed the menu… I wanted to order one of everything.

Coffee was outstanding. I had a cold brew and my girlfriend had a macchiato - both were superb.

Million dollar bacon was perfectly crispy and seasoned. Maple syrup was a perfect compliment.

Avocado toast was out of this world. Absolutely elite-tier. The eggs were plentiful, the toast was perfect and it had featured a nice hint of butter under all of the flavors.

The beef sausage and eggs was insanely huge - easily shared by two people. The eggs were buttery and fluffy - perfectly cooked. The sausages were brisket based, smoky and so flavorful. Breakfast potatoes were crispy yet fluffy inside and the toast was to die for.

Service was always perfectly timed, friendly and professional.

I randomly stumbled into this place with my 6 year old daughter and decided to give it a try. The vibe is SO CUTE and we were pleasantly surprised! I've been here twice, mainly because it's close to home. Unfortunately, there are a few recurring issues that really hold this place back.

The service isn’t rude—but it’s clearly inexperienced. Servers often stand around near the kitchen, chatting instead of checking on tables. Both times, I went through an entire meal without receiving my water or drinks. No check-ins, no follow-ups, and once you’ve finished eating, you’ll be sitting for another 10 minutes just waiting for the check. It’s clear the staff needs proper training. This level of service drags the whole experience down.

The food itself is actually quite good—solid all around. But good food only goes so far when the service consistently underdelivers.

Another major issue: the noise. If you're sensitive to loud environments, this is not the place. It’s packed with families and young kids every time I’ve been here. The volume gets out of hand quickly—it honestly feels more like having breakfast at Chuck E. Cheese than a relaxing café.

What could be a charming breakfast spot instead feels chaotic. I won’t be returning, despite the food being worth a second visit.

If they could properly train the staff, implement some noise-dampening measures, and maybe create separate zones for families and quieter diners, this place could really shine. But right now, it’s missing the mark.

My husband and I came here with friends of ours for brunch today. The ambiance is so nice!! My husband got the mimosa flight and Nashville hot chicken and waffles. I got the Birria grilled cheese. He said his waffles were not spicy at all, tasted like regular chicken tenders. So was a bit bland. My Birria grilled cheese was pretty good, but much smaller than I expected. The fries were good, I would compare them to McDonald’s (not in a bad way) but a little less grease.
Overall, what we ordered was just okay, I probably wouldn’t order again.

Decor is good, our sevrer was top notch, I’ll definitely try them again. A good friend spoke highly of Era. My only issue is both of my dishes were lukewarm at best. Food doesn’t taste as good when it’s not served piping hot.

The lesson I walked away with is to inform my server the importance of food being delivered while it’s hot, and should I receive it lukewarm I need to immediately sends it back.

After an active morning, my husband and I stopped by Era Cafe for brunch. This was our first dining experience in Waunakee and we were both very impressed. The vibe of Era Cafe is modern and chic but homey. I was a big fan of their decor and design. And the food was even better! I ordered the blueberry cheesecake pancakes with a side of breakfast potatoes. The serving size was very generous, and whoever came up with blueberry cheese pancakes is a genius. My husband got the country fried steak. He was very pleased with his meal and blown away by how much food you get for such a fair price. Everything was so delicious. I was there today with friends for lunch. I had the Nashville chicken. Perfect sandwich. My one friend had the Rueben and couldn’t finish it. I took the other half home and re-heated it in an air fryer. It was awesome. And I work in an Irish Pub. Other friend had waffles or something like that. I was incredibly surprised to see some of the one and two star reviews because this is without a doubt the best breakfeast spot ive ever had the pleasure of going to. Incredibly friendly staff. great service, and a wide Variety of options on the menu. I got the Chicken and Waffles and was blown away at how amazing the chicken was. Very crispy and flavorful and the waffles were amazing as well. I asked if I could add chocolate chips and the chef was more than willing to accomodate and the result was amazing. We've gone three times now since it opened. Once for each meal time (though my husband always gets breakfast). Disappointing Experience at Era Cafe

I had high hopes for Era Cafe, but unfortunately, our experience was less than stellar. From the moment we sat down, the service felt rushed. It took quite a while for us to even receive water, and after we placed our order, the wait for our food was long as well. When it finally arrived, it was cold, which was really disappointing.

What made the experience even worse was that tables around us, including ones who arrived after us, received their food and water much quicker. This inconsistency in service was hard to ignore, and it made us feel like our table wasn’t a priority.

To make matters worse, as soon as we received our cold food, we were handed our check. It felt as though they were eager to push us out, even though the restaurant was far not that busy. This left us with a sense that we were being rushed, and it was uncomfortable.

While I can't say for sure if it was due to being one of the only people of color in the restaurant, there was no other apparent explanation for such a poor experience. Overall, it was disappointing, and I’m unsure if I’ll return.

I traveled to Era Cafe and I stared at the logo on the wall and I tried to understand what meet me at era cafe meant.

Era translates to was, the past, or a time period from the Spanish I know.

I think the sign meant meet me at the cafe from the past. V!

When I walked in I felt the vibe was taking a past idea and bringing it to the present!

The idea of an old fashioned cafe setting but with a new design was cool! ∆!

We were just there this afternoon. First off, the service set up is moronic if u r sitting at the bar. U get service like u would at a table while the so called bartenders u don’t speak to. Weird. I will preface this review by stating our server, JOHNA, was fantastic. The, again, so called bartenders didn’t have a clue on how to make a drink. Took me three times to just get a basic vodka soda w OJ. Luckily the last try JOHNA said try it first before she left, and sure enough, I was now served a double patron drink. If u r going to have a brunch place w a full bar, then have proper bartenders and service by them behind the bar. Otherwise, don’t do it. Hubby ordered a LOADED Bloody Mary for 4 bucks more and it was comical as loaded to them apparently means a beef stick, one olive and a celery stick. He did say the spicey bloody was good though. Our food came and guess what, wrong order for hubby. They quickly brought out the correct one. He did say his salmon was good. I had a meat lovers skillet and it was ok. Greasy though, especially the hash browns. Tasted funny. Not worth the price at all. Aesthetics were nice, but rest needs a lot of work. Personally, once was enough for me. Will never go back. If wasn’t for JOHNA, it would have been even worse. She really tried to rectify all the screw ups.

This is a lovely restaurant on the edge of Waunakee. We went there during a very busy time. On a Sunday, we had to wait 45 minutes to get seated. Then once we placed our food order it was another half an hour to get our food. More importantly, however the food was not great. My wife's hash browns were burnt to a crisp, beyond recognition. Her latte was served in a drinking glass cup. It got cold rather fast. The pancakes were way too thick. The bacon was way too smoky. My eggs are cool but my hash browns were burning hot. We might try them for lunch but probably not for breakfast again.

We were very pleased with our first visit. Food is slightly upscale from typical diner food, but still reasonably priced. Very good basics like waffles and pancakes, had many other options which were also very tasty. We will come back!

Era is a GREAT addition to Waunakee. Their breakfast is outstanding and they are also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. In an area where there aren’t a ton of options that are delicious, nice atmosphere, and won’t break the bank…we are so happy to have Era Café right in the neighborhood. If you’re lucky, you’ll get Johna as your server….she’s super personable and will take great care of you!

We love Era Cafe! Do yourself a favor and try the Banana Bread French toast. It’s incredible! I’m also a fan of the lox bagel here. Johna has been our waitress several times we’ve been here and she’s been a breath of fresh air every time we come in….but all the staff has been great so far. The atmosphere is a nice light and bright modern/upscale diner vibe.

I was in this week and Johna took care of my family and I. She was so upbeat, knew information to the questions that we had on the menu and kept us smiling! She never skipped a beat and tended to several other patrons all while making sure we were taken care of. The pancakes with Nutella were amazing! Johna's recommendation. We can't wait to take our extended family in to try it out. We will definitely be back.

Came here with some girlfriends for brunch mid week. My order was wrong when the food arrived. No apology from the server just “I thought you ordered ___”. So I sat and waited and encouraged my friends to eat. I had ordered the eggs benedict and when the food finally came out my friends were half done and I noted the eggs were scrambled not poached. At this point I just wanted to eat so I figured whatever probably something in the kitchen with the rush order. Bill came and I was double charged for the fruit that I ordered as a side and had to have her fix it. Again no apology and also mentioned that the egg was not poached and scrambled. It was then I noticed that it was how it was entered on my bill and obviously not how I ordered it. My comment was ignored and I just paid my bill ready to be done with the whole experience. On the plus side, the location is beautiful and the food was really tasty but unfortunately for the price point and lack of service I won’t be back.

Not only is the aesthetic incredibly pleasing and cozy, but the food presentation is top-notch! 🤩 The customer service was outstanding—the staff was friendly and went above and beyond to help me choose a delicious gluten-free meal. Waited a long time for our food. My wife's skillet meal was cold to the touch, had to sent back to get reheated. Her Pancake was so cold the butter would not melt. They did give her another they said was fresh from the grill. Will give it one more try sometime. Had to ask for syrup for the pancake.

Great new place in Waunakee to get brunch, with lots of great menu items. The service will hopefully improve with time/experience as our server was honestly pretty bad. The food was great and we will definitely be back.

We'll be back... Saturday 830 am and got seated right away. Got busy later though...Staff was friendly, still in training but did a good job. Husband is picky with his coffee and they almost nailed it. The sweet cream wasn't warmed up so it made the whole espresso could... He drank it anyway but that's a typical fail for amateur baristas. The banana French toast was amazing and beautiful presentation... The Avocado toast was also amazing... Looking forward to trying other things!
