We were really disappointed with our recent visit to Era Café. We ordered what they advertise as “fresh squeezed orange juice” — only to find out it’s actually pre-squeezed and sitting out in the sun. And for that, they charge $6 a glass.

That’s not “fresh,” that’s false advertising at a premium price. It’s frustrating when a place that promotes quality cuts corners like this. Sadly, after seeing this, we don’t think we’ll be back.

It's a super cool spot with lots of fun and unique food options. It can be hard at times to get a servers attention, but the food and views are pretty good at making it worth the wait. Naturally, with food this good they are going to be busy!

We haven't been back in over 2 years. We asked for prices before we ordered. The waitress said she'd ask and never gave us an answer. My son ordered two meals and I said no, but she disregarded my request. Someone was training her and telling her how to handle things in Spanish, very rude. The waitress seemed nervous and didn't want to make us mad, but still did as the trainer ordered. Some of the food was good, some of it was pretty generic. The staff stood around and talked alot but didn't work much. With the prices being so high, wich you find out when the bill comes, I felt scammed by the trainer. I just couldn't give a normal sized tip due to the price being so high. I have a budget to live by. The building was nice looking. But there was construction or something going on that limited some of the parking lot. I assume the owners don't like to work hard because the staff is so slacky. Hard work pays off. But I'd go to Blue Willow any day before coming here. Ihop has some great meals as well and better service with a good price. I'd suggest the owners/management take a moment and eat at these restaurants and then compare.

Don't touch the under part of the table either, it was gross. I washed my arm immediately.

And we were rushed to finish our meals. It took longer to prepare them than what time we were given to eat them. I told her we weren't ready yet, but she brought us containers to put our food in anyways. So I ate the rest of my meal on the way home. Only one of us finished our meal at the restaurant, but he eats fast normally.

This place churns put some really lovely food. I so wish the service was a bit better. They are SUPER pushy, to the point of rude. Even my 11 year old commented on how it seemed like they were rushing us through our meal (we were only there for like a total 30 mins so not like we were taking up a table for too long.) When we were asked if we needed a box-we had only had our food for a few minutes, but I said we probably would need one as the pancakes were so large. She came and put it on the table which is very small, I had to hold it in my lap so we could finish eating. There wasn’t a way to eat with the container on the table without it being literally on our plates. It was just super rude and for what you pay this place to serve you, completely unnecessary. The pancakes and French toast are absolutely spectacular. I’ve also had a skillet here that was pretty good too. This place could be 5 star across the board if the servers would let people finish their food without jamming containers and bills into their eating space.

What a find this was. Stopped on our way home from Door County to MSP.

We come from the twin cities where food used to be great, and some places still are.
The decor here is the usual new updated theme of industrial farmhouse. But i forgot everything after our food was served!!
My hubby bought a spinach crepe that was incredible to taste, it was presented beautifully and looked extremely delicious: I had a taste and had to stop because I had to eat my own and I ALMOST wished I'd gotten what he had,was just fantastic!
I had the turkey avocado club wo bacon and a cup of cheddar cheese broccoli.
The sandwich was cut just like gramma would and the freshness of the veggies and turkey exploded with exactly how you would expect it to! Crisp juicy and bursting with fresh flavors. It's like when you make something at home but tastes better than a restaurant. Yes this place is that great! Don't change your chef, cooks, or your staff! Keep them happy!!
The soup was the excellent comfort food, at the BEST temperature, like baby bear's, and it was so good we bought 2 bowls to go to savor later! I wish I could have the recipe for this soup!! Soooo good and perfect for the weather we're having!
Definitely will be returning here before we have to travel the roads again and DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

We stayed at the hotel across the street and decided to come here early morning before hitting the road again. It wasn’t too busy right after they opened but it picked up by the time we left. The food was sooo good! Would definitely recommend the croissant beignets, they were everyone’s favourite. We also got the strawberry tres leches pancakes and avocado toast. The pancake portions are huge! It was so tasty and we are so glad we stopped there.

Best breakfast we have had in a very long time. Run, don't walk, to this restaurant! Creme brulee French toast was deliciously crunchy and so good (carmelized sugar topping), the biscuits and gravy were perfectly seasoned, the waffles and pancakes didn't even need syrup but we tried the syrup anyway. Syrup was served warm in a big bottle. No skimping here! Tasted fresh and homemade. The beef brisket sausage was unique and even our sausage-hating friends couldn't stop eating them. They were not greasy nor overly salted. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere beautifully modern. I'd love to know where they purchase their table and chairs! We travel a lot and have breakfast in a lot of places. This was top on all our list.

What a spot! Awesome menu with great choices you don’t see elsewhere. I’m a huge Benedict fan and they had all kinds of great options to choose. I was getting overwhelmed. Era Cafe is a standout gem in the Rib Mountain breakfast scene. While their menu is full of excellent breakfast and brunch options, their Latin-inspired dishes are especially impressive. The breakfast potatoes are hands-down the best I've ever had, and they’re the only place in the area that truly nails breakfast chorizo — flavorful, balanced, and cooked just right. Wausau has no shortage of breakfast spots, but Era Cafe is the first one that’s truly hit the mark for me. Highly recommended.

I was visiting from out of town and so happy to find a nice breakfast place with gluten-free options. I had the corned-beef skillet with the gf pancake. The pancake was huge and very thick, which is rare for a gf pancake. The homemade corned beef was excellent. If I have to be picky, the hasbrowns were a little white/undercooked, but I didn't specify. The pricing is a little on the high side, but the portions are big, so I could have easily split with someone else. Coffee was good.

My husband and I visited on our way back from a camping trip, and it was quite a treat. Everyone was very friendly especially our waitress. The food was delicious. I got the Berry feast and my husband got the Croque Madame crepes. The berries on my crepes were all perfect, not a single mushy berry. It was my husband's first time getting a savory crepes and he was very impressed. The environment was peaceful despite the full dining room. The bathrooms were clean and stocked.

Honestly, I'd say this is probably one of my most favorite places to go for breakfast. I wouldn't hesitate to go for lunch or supper if I was in the area! Great service and even better food. However, no place is perfect, the only thing I would recommend to the business is to find a more efficient and more convenient front counter to get seated and to pay as someone coming in for their first time could get a little stressed out if three families are trying to pay as you walk in. The food was delicious and the restaurant is super cute. The server didn’t check back until we finished our food and I was out of water throughout my entire meal. She was talking to a young gentleman who came in to eat for at least 10 minutes and went out of her way to bring him a craft of water. The only reason I'm giving this restaurant 4 out of 5 is because they seem to be charging for items they should not. We ate at the restaurant and noticed our receipt had a delivery fee. I asked why and they removed it, but I looked at the stack of receipts and noticed they all had the same fee! Era Cafe has consistently provided the most delicious breakfast meals and unbeatable service. It's hard to choose what to eat off of the menu when you go here since everything is so good, but you can't go wrong with any of their pancakes, french toast, or crepes.

My favorite has to be the strawberry tres leches pancakes, which are so thick, fluffy, and rich that they're to die for, but everything on their menu is delicious.

If you're in the area, definitely check Era Cafe out. The delicious food, exceptional service, and relaxing atmosphere make it the ideal place to have a great breakfast/brunch!

The food was something you could make at home but expensive. The building design is modern which hass the effect to echo. Ordered over 100$ worth of food only for Era's delivery system to take our money and cancel our order. ERA told us they are only the middle man and it's out of their hands. They said all they do is make the food and if their delivery system loses the food or doesn't delivery it's out of their control. They gave me the Uber # that said they need the restaurant to call and let them know, Era REFUSED to call. This was a Business Order. Which means my company is now out $100 due to lack of communication and willingness to correct an issue on Eras end.

$23 for this is insane, I see why they don’t tell you the price over the phone. Everything was cold. Can get the same thing plus bacon but better for half the price at blue willow. Also the owner has a terrible attitude

I had the barbacoa eggs Benedict, with fruit. The eggs were done slightly over what I usually do but it was great! The hollandaise sauce was delicious as was the barbacoa. They make a great Arnold Palmer too. My bestie said her omelette was "the fluffiest she had ever had". Will definitely be back and would highly recommend!

Stopped last year on our way to western Wisconsin, had the southern benedict. It was amazing. This weekend we are celebrating our 20th anniversary, in Wausau, Era is a must place for me to eat again. See you this weekend!!!

First time visiting, and hopefully, it's not my last. As I was traveling and this fantastic restaurant was several hours away from home. Staff is very friendly and restraunt clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the two pancakes for my late breakfast. Oh my, were they delicious! Fresh buttermilk pancakes, real butter and real maple syrup. Yummy! I highly recommend stopping in, and I will make it a point to go back again.

In all honesty, I enjoyed my time here. Food and service were good and I didn't have any negative experiences till I went home and began having some uh... Bowel problems. Fast forward to next day and I've been in a living hell of a severe stomach flu/food poisoning. I haven't been able to keep even water down for the past 8+ hours. I went with my partner and we had the eggs Benedict and a Nutella crepe. I didn't eat anything else between the onset of symptoms, so I can't imagine it came from anywhere else. Just a word of caution and hopefully the kitchen will be extra careful in preparation of dishes moving forward. Eggs Benedict inherently have some risk, but weirdly enough I think it was the crepe because my partner didn't have much of it and she didn't fall ill.

We have been here many times. Servers are always friendly and the food is great.
I tried their banana split french toast, just incredible. And the presentation is amazing. Hats off to the chef.

My husband and I were recommended to visit the cafe. We were not sorry we visited. The extra care Kat E our waitress gave us to help with my husband being wheelchair bound was so much appreciated. I stop here at least once a month. I haven't had a bad experience yet. Service is great, food is excellent. New parking lot is a huge plus. My favorite is the Yogurt with berries and their meat lovers skillet.

This is my favorite restaurant in town hands down. Today however I was very disappointed. I ordered a cobb salad hold the bacon and cheese add salmon and berries. I was so excited brought it back and they had put salmon on the salad with the things I asked them to hold. I was looking for the perfect salad (a little pricey) but worth it for my healthy protein/salad ratio needs. I called because I couldn't eat it that way and told them it was wrong, got back in the car and returned it for what I wanted, no harm/ no foul. But the new salad did not have the eggs and the salmon was so overcooked it was difficult to swallow. Also I should have left the ham off as it was very processed so I didn't eat that but that was on me. I was just so disappointed because I am not really eating out and it was not worth it today

Went there for a late breakfast. Really nice dining room with excellent service. Our food was definitely a step up from average. My omelet was one of the best I've had in quite awhile. My wife's French toast was excellent. Both meals were presented well and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.
