We had a lovely dinner last night. Our cocktails were delicious, especially the pumpkin Generous Pour. The fish fry was great and the pasta bolognese was wonderful. Our server, Jasmin, was excellent. She surprised us with a desert to go. We always enjoy our meal at Everly and look forward to our next visit.

One of my favorite restaurants in Madison. The atmosphere is great, service is always fantastic, and the food is consistent. Nya at the bar is great, being attentive without being overbearing. Service was great. Food was delicious and had a decent amount of GS choices. The only thing that doesn't get 5 stars is - water. Only tap water available. So if you eat healthy and dont drink tap water, alcohol or sodas - you are out of luck. No bottle water, no San Pelligrino or something similar in a bottle or can. Only sodas, sugary drinks in cans and tap and alcohol beverages available. Zero choices for a health conscious individuals. Floors were very dirty as well.

Ate dinner here because there were good vegetarian options. That was true and the food was generally good.

We started with the fried artichoke which we found was okay. The sauce provided most of the flavor. I would not order this again.

For mains we had the salmon, the grain bowl and the Pozole Verde. The salmon was very good. The grain bowl was fine, but it’s mostly cold, not a hot meal, if you care about that. I loved the Pozole Verde. Beware that it’s kinda spicy. I thought it was great but others tasted it and found it too hot.

The service was fine until the end when the server took some of the plates away before everyone was finished which is a complaint of mine. Then she gave us the check, took the credit card and returned bill never clearing the dirty plates while we sat there and chatted. It’s fine to the clear the plates when we’re done.

Let’s start with the positive.

20 min early and the female host with

dark wavy hair past her shoulders sat me.

The tall multiracial eccentric looking

gentleman, just seemed confused. Very

confused. I was slightly frustrated with

him, b/c he seemed so lost about his job

but the woman who sat us helped him out.

Thank God for her.

When we were sat, we waited for at least

10 min, we weren’t acknowledged by our

waitress with the beautifully red curly hair.

She was nice. But if I were to ever come

back I would never want to be waited on by

her again. We had to ask for refills of water

after I seen her look at our empty cups and

keep walking.

When I asked for straws she did bring them

in napkins but she placed them on the

table so fast they rolled out onto the table.

The chicken and waffles ..

The waffles taste like they were frozen and warmed up. They didn’t taste like they were freshly made - they were hard. The chicken, wasn’t that bad, the color of the batter was off it looked very light .. oddly light but the flavor was ok. Needed more seasoning.
The syrup was thinly placed on there. I wish the waitress would have asked,”do you need more syrup”?

The Sirloin Hash…
It was ok, it definitely needed tomato salsa or a light pico de gallo for people who don’t like a “runny egg” or a sunny egg. I asked her could they cook the egg a little longer - I just didn’t want it runny and it came back hard < sigh >. A little more meat wouldn’t hurt either.

At the end, she took at least 10 min to bring my change for the bill.

I’m like what is going on!?

The ambiance, the cleanliness, the polite female host, the truffle fries, barely brought my experience to 3 stars but here we are 🙂.

A friend and I had lunch here and loved the atmosphere. Our server was such a sweetheart!! Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The honey mustard chicken sandwich was pure breading and no chicken. Tikka Masala sandwich was not very flavorful either. Very cute place, will be back to try other options.

It was not the best visit to Everly, although Anna was a bright light in it. It was a burger lunch for a coworker that was leaving us. 2 of the 4 burgers were cooked as requested. The others were way over done. The burger with the "no onion" request had lots of onions. I had requested my burger with a cup of the cream of asparagus soup of the day. It came out with a cup of chicken noodle soup. No one mentioned the substitution or told me that the soup I ordered was gone and asked me what I would like. By the time I flagged someone down and asked them, they told me that the soup of the day was gone. I asked for fries then. It took awhile and then my burger was half gone by the time the fries came out. Seemed to not be a great day for the kitchen. It was too bad as the restaurant was not that busy. Really impressed with the food! We had a large group (9 people) and ordered a couple appetizers - artichokes, cauliflower and edamame. All were delicious but the cauliflower really stood out. I had the curry with salmon and was really surprised at how much I liked it. Would definitely recommend!

My team decided to celebrate the start of the cricket season at Everly. We made our reservation for 10 people and everything went smoothly.

We didn’t have to wait long to be seated. The table was big enough for everyone. I must say it was maybe a little too big to reach the foot bar lol.

Our server took care of us right away with drinks. Answered all our questions and was very helpful and cordial.

Drinks were fantastic! I had the About Bloody Thyme. So refreshing!!!

Food was served at a reasonable time and all dishes were served altogether so no one had to wait. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Green Pozole and was very happy with my choice. I’ve never seen pozole this fancy.

We decided to skip desert and get our bills. I was very impressed and pleased to see we were allowed to pay separately. That is not always the case.

Bathrooms were cleaned, they have hooks available for coats and/or purses, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the lights are amazing, both natural and artificial.

We sat at the bar for a late lunch. The bartender brought us waters and kindly took our order. That was last he spoke to us until we were totally done. No one offered water refills and no one checked to see how the food was. The other bartender was focused on refilling bottles with juices and never acknowledged our existence, but he was busy the whole time. Our bartender chatted it up with other employees, including one that was sitting two stools down from us, but never noticed our glasses sitting empty. He finally came over to ask if we needed anything else. He cleared our plates and said he would be right back with the check. Except he went straight to stocking the refrigerator instead and never came back. After a little while the other bartender brought us our check.

I had the squash and forbidden rice curry. It was really good though the squash was so much hotter than the rest of the ingredients that it was obvious it was microwaved and it burnt my mouth. My wife had the brunch fried rice and though the bartender warned it was spicy, she mentioned she never found the spice he mentioned. The kimchi seemed to be just pieces of cabbage so that was a let down as well. We took our leftovers home but my wife won’t finish her fried rice.

I’ve had Everly marked on Google maps as “want to go” for months but it’s coming off now.

Went with a party of 6, arrived about 5 minutes late to our reservation, and still had to wait almost 10 minutes for our table. Service was incredibly slow. The drinks were especially slow (blueberry matcha was not good), and the food was slow too, although the restaurant was somewhat busy.

The food was good, had the experience not have been so bad, I would have probably gone back.

While eating the food we waited so long for, we had to watch a young waitress clean her dirty shoes at the bar/barstool right in front of us. She had her shoe propped up on the stool, cleaning it with a magic eraser. Parts of the blackened eraser were falling all over the stool and the floor. This went on for a while. When she was done, she wiped the stool with a rag, and threw the rag back on the rag pile (she did not wash her hands). We were going to tell the staff about our experience as we were leaving soon, but noticed the host grab the exact same rag to start cleaning tables with. We quickly went over to her to explain what had happened and she was so embarrassed.

This is not only disgusting, but a health hazard. Just for that, I wouldn’t come back again.

What happened Everly? It has been a go to for a number of years now. I was there on Tuesday for lunch and first of all the restaurant was filthy. There was stuff all over the floor under our booth and the tiles were so dirty, it was also only 2 o’clock in the afternoon. I ordered a salmon, BLT and it was so fishy and dry that I took about four bites, the fries were also lukewarm. I had raved about Everly to my husband for a long time, and his food Was better than mine, but not as good as I had bragged. Was it just an off day? Service was very meh. Don’t worry, we still tipped well- but will think twice before going again.

One of the best restaurants I had been to! I tried the truffle fries, Peruvian chicken skewers, fried artichoke and more (which do not have avocado in the sauce! One of our group members was allergic and the waiter confirmed there wasn’t any). The fried artichoke was my favorite, picture is the Korean chicken, which was good but not my pace so I traded my friend for their salmon BLT, which was also delicious!

Our old favorite brunch spot with some delicious and nutritious vegetarian and vegan options. My go to is the veggie scramble (make sure to say if you want it vegetarian or vegan), the smashed potatoes are the best potato I have ever had (I make them at home now, too). The challah french toast is vegetarian and mouth watering. Love their outdoor seating in warmer weather. Lovely atmosphere, though it can get a bit loud when busy. The food was tasty and it was great to be able to customize: around dietary restrictions. The restaurant itself needed a good deep cleaning. You could tell the booths needed to be wiped from top to bottom, someone had used an old dirty mop to mop so it was splashed on the bottom of the booths. You could see into the kitchen area and the floor looked not super clean, bathrooms also had a build up on corners and just needed to be super cleaned. Probably wouldn’t have stayed if I had noticed these things to begin with.

We brought our 95 year old neighbor for lunch because we told your restaurant was quiet. It is not. We asked for a quiet place and were given a booth against the wall. The host then squeezed 7 people into the booth next to us and they were very loud. The waitress was new and it took her a long time to come and take our order. She was very nice and we could tell she was trying very hard. I ordered the salmon BLT and was served smoked salmon on bread. She took it back to the kitchen and we were eventually served the correct dish. Our neighbor ordered a hamburger and she said it was very good. Although the kale salad had very large pieces of kale and she had a hard time cutting it. Perhaps you should chop it a little bit more and make it easier for everyone. Our meal was comped which was very nice. Overall it wasn't the most pleasant experience. But no one thing was at fault.

Everly has been a favorite for my family since times have changed and we've need outside dining to accommodate health needs. They continue to provide excellent food and beverages with the most accommodating and friendly staff serving. The outdoor patio is large, comfortable, and we've even eaten there during bad weather because the canopy over the top is fairly protective! They were especially accommodating to us this Mother's Day, which was also UW graduation weekend, when we needed to make some changes to our reservation. We appreciated how friendly everyone was to us throughout, and I wanted to especially note it was wonderful to see at least one employee in a mask. We know many businesses these days are no longer allowing employees to mask if they have a need or even desire to do so, and we applaud The Everly and Food Fight for making their restaurant accessible to both customers and employees! High recommend to others who are still trying to stay covid cautious.

We made a Friday night reservation, and it was good we did because the restaurant was full when we arrived. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, we were promptly seated and served, and the drinks were delicious (wicked behavior, hola from the other side). There were so many food options that sounded good on the menu it was hard to choose, but our kale salad, tea braised pork, and angel hair pomodoro were wonderful. The servings were large, well worth the price. It was difficult to finish all the food, but we did because it felt like a waste to not eat everything when it tasted so good.

As a long time vegetarian, I've eaten dozens of veggie burgers. I can easily say the Everly black bean quinoa burger is the best veggie burger I've ever had. It was packed with flavor and had the structural integrity of a real burger. No one likes when their veggie burger completely falls apart. Everly made sure that didn't happen. I will definitely be back.

We always come back for the curry served w/ salmon! It never disappoints. Service was disappointing- took about 40 minutes to get our appetizer- which was very good - and our meal came about 10 minutes after that, which was good. I visited Everly last week. Ordered a salad to go. It came rather quickly so I verified it was the salad I ordered with shrimp. When I arrived home, opened the salad all I found was dressed lettuce w red onions. I called and requested a refund and was assured I would receive one. I have NOT received the refund. We chose this place to be our first taste of Madison WI, and to say the least, it left quite a first impression. The atmosphere is very upbeat, with prominent botanical accents and vibrant bright colors, all in a clean space with very attentive and friendly staff! The service was standout exceptional, which to me is always an important part of dining. Each dish stood out, and the menu provided an eclectic variety of fabulous flavor! Additionally, the Everly menu is extremely gluten-free friendly, with all of their dishes being gluten-free by default or request, and all fryers being gluten-freeIt was an amazing overall experience and I would recommend to everyone from families to dates :D

I had previously given this restaurant a 5 star rating, however tonight’s experience has made me rethink that score. We arrived at 8:30pm and our server seemed rushed and not personal at all. We ordered a latte, but the machine had already been cleaned and was out of use. They don’t close until 10pm. I was served the wrong entree and had to watch my wife eat dinner until my correct entree arrived. Then after dinner, we were not offered any dessert or coffee but given the bill at 9:20pm. We would have enjoyed something but didn’t have the chance to indulge. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I am not sure if we will return.

Great spot for a refreshing menu and refreshing drinks and cocktails! Both indoor and outdoor seating available, makes me happy as I try to maximize outdoor time during summer. The Outdoor space is covered, so even when its a hot day, so nice to be in full shade. Lot of great options on the menu, socal bowl, grilled salmon salad, bahn-mi (tho I don't care for that much bread). They seem to provide a healthier, more conscious menu. Also had the shishito peppers, they could use a bit more sea-salt as they were a bit bland. Nevertheless, great spot, nice open space with a clean vibe. So far I have only done lunches and everyone that I have taken liked it. Monroe neighborhood is even more attractive with Everly being part of it's offerings. Stellar happy hour drinks and food!

Overall our experience was good. Everly makes our absolute favorite veggie burger. However, my veggie burger was over cooked. It tasted charred and the cheese on top was completely burned. First time here. Had the lunch special which was a chipotle chicken sandwich and upgraded to the cup of house black bean soup. Everything was amazing. Bread on sandwich was crispy outside and fluffy inside. Soup was seasoned well. And they make a nice breve iced latte. Service was quick and food was out inside 15 min. This was my second time at everly. I was not impressed the first time but wanted to give the dinner menu a try. We had a bad start with dirty water glasses, which we also experienced last time. The food was adequate at best. The French fries were dry and the crispy rice was 95% rice and 5% tuna. Our entrees were fine just way too simple for $20 each, and neither of us finished our meals or wanted to take our leftovers. Overall the experience was a big let down for how much people talk up this place, especially when there’s much better in the area.

First of all it's a beautiful building, spacious and light. Plenty of options for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, non alcoholic, or none of the above. Most importantly the quality of the food is supreme! Can tell the food is cooked with care and the ingredients are chosen carefully. The breading on the chicken was the best I've had, even the fry oil seems above standard. The servers were all bright and kind. Overall a great experience.

A bit of a mixed bag. Liked the location , ample of parking and great atmosphere. Food , not that great. Service was painfully slow. The appetizers were decent - we tried the peruvian skewers, truffle fries. Side salads and sauces were great. Amount of those dishes were a bit less, but ok. For the price range, the main dishes were a letdown taste wise. Thai crispy chicken was bad. Smelled and tasted stale. My chicken tikka masala flatbread was just ok and the fish tacos were somewhat ok, not that great. I liked the kale salad and coleslaw a lot. The tiramisu took forever to appear and was not great either. I would recommend to probably try their salad soups and sides , with drinks. Menu is limited. Service is slow.

The food was amazing! The steak was massive. We also tried the Peruvian Skewers (so good!) and the Braised Pork. Everything was cooked just right. Super tasty, and you could tell they really put effort into it. We were so stuffed that we didn’t even get to try the dessert, but I can't wait to go back and check those out. The cocktails were on point too. Our waitress was really friendly and gave us some awesome recommendations. Highly recommended.
