…I don’t know how to accurately rate this place. Truly a moral conundrum. I think this may be a “me issue”, but also some of it wasn’t?
I’ll start by saying that the place itself is neat and kitchy, gives off old tavern vibes or something, which is fitting considering it is what it is. Card shop attached is a fun little touch, dinner and a lil loot bag, yknow? I noticed board games and a few arcade type games around, definitely a fun lil place to grab some food and play some games, whether you use what’s provided or bring your own. Also, the onion rings… my god, when I die, if I’m not rolled off into the crematorium with a basket of them on my chest, I’m haunting EVERYONE. They were so stupid good. I’ll be thinking about them for a long time.

Okay now maybe it’s because I’m a terrible millennial and have started to retire myself into the boomer category, but I didn’t like the ordering process at all. I’m not big into using cards, I’m useless at technology, and I’m also blind in one eye and it’s hard for me to read off small screens. I also understand that some places moved everything to an online ordering platform after Covid, but I really (apparently) value the good ol’ fashioned hand held, printed menu. I appreciate that everything had a whimsical name, however that made it VERY hard to figure out what the food actually was. Some items made sense, others did not. I guess I like the ease of being able to read descriptions below the items. Again, probably a “me issue”.
However my problem lies in my meal; everyone else seemed to really enjoy their food, and like I said, those onion rings were heaven sent… but charging $14 for a BLT that was honestly a mayo sandwich… nope. I thought maybe I was being too picky but when the four other people at my table even noticed how much mayo was oozing, literally oozing out of the sandwich, they called it out too. There were also four very small strips of bacon in the sandwich… I’m not trying to be THAT customer but that’s a ridiculous price for almost no bacon, one wilted piece of lettuce, and two slices of tomato. Deeply upsetting. And because of the ordering process, no one comes by to check on you and how you like the meal, so… ?
I’d come back again, and give it another shot, but it’s left this really strange taste on my tongue for lack of a better expression, and I’m just confused.

Let me start by saying this bar isn't for everyone. It has a lot of really cool stuff and great food/drink options, but it is a themed bar. If you can't tell by the pictures and videos it is dungeons & dragons style them. It is a really cool atmosphere if that's what you are into. They brew their own beers, They have a bunch of free board games you can play, a lot of cool things that make this bar a special place. I was shocked when talking to the bar tender that this place has been open for 5 years now. It is very clean and very well kept bar makes it feel like a new place. So I really came here for the food, specifically the wings. The adds for this place have really been popping up on my Facebook and the pictures looked absolutely amazing! I started off with a house beer that was fantastic! I would definitely recommend anyonr to check out the beer selection. Next up I ordered some deep fried pickle chips, these were absolutely amazing! They came out nice and hot had a light and flaky breading with a perfect crunch. Now for the wings, I will say I was a little disappointed in flavor options but that's not the end of the world. I'm always looking for a really good Asian flavor something like a Asian zing, or honey garlic of nature. So I asked the bar tender and he said the the sweet and spicy was the best option for that. I ended up ordering sweet and spicy, honey bbq, Carolina gold, and garlic parm. I asked how they are made, so I guess they smoke them until temp then they put them in the oven at low temp, when you order they flash fry them and sauce them. I wouldn't say I could really taste any smoke flavor but they were definitely softer inside. They weren't though or hard to chew at all. The flavors were pretty solid, I really enjoyed the garlic parm, however I was not a big fan of the Carolina gold. They had a really powerful mustard flavor that was just too much for me. I think they put on the perfect amount of sauce which is very important to me. The one thing that didn't hit for me was I like a nice char on the outside, and that's a just me thing. So I asked the bartender and he said I could special request that they throw them on the grill and char them a bit. I like a bar that's willing to work with a customer to make food how they prefer it. Also be sure to check out the deals and specials, Wednesday is 75¢ wings! I feel the prices were fair for everything you get. Overall I really enjoyed this place and I'll be back to try some more stuff and play some board games with friends!

Faklandia is a great spot — solid beers, good food, and a cool, environment. I’d recommend it to anyone.

We did have a slightly odd experience with kitchen hours. Google lists them as open until 8 PM, but they actually stop taking orders at 7:45 PM. We ordered around 7:50 and were still served, but the bartender came over with our beers to tell us to “order earlier next time — even though Google says it closes at 8, it’s actually 7:45.” I get that 7:50 is close to closing, but since we were within the posted hours, it felt unnecessary. Maybe updating the Google hours could save everyone a bit of awkwardness!

We just moved here from out of state. First time at this restaurant today and my husband sincerely said, "this is everything you always say you want at a restaurant." It's true, everything I've ever craved is on the menu, it's wild. So excited to live near this place. Service was great, food was awesome, atmosphere was nice. I was afraid of the menu due to reviews on here but it was insanely easy to navigate and actually very intuitive. If you read the menu at the table and follow the headers it's super easy to choose those items from the drop down. Glad I didn't listen to the low reviews.

I absolutely love this place! We frequently attend this fine establishment, and it's become a home away from home. The food is great, the drinks are fantastic. The bartenders are amazing, and are gracious enough to accommodate my odd requests. Karaoke on Fridays is usually what brings us in, but brunch on Sundays is good as well. And it's fun to sit and play games while we wait for food.

We had heard some really good things about this place and my sister had been wanting to go for a long time. We were looking for a place to play trivia and saw that it was offered on Thursday night so we went. From the minute we got in the doors, you could tell it was themed as a fantasy world. You could tell a lot of D&D people would visit this place. They did have one regular menu and one special menu on the table, but you were encouraged to use the QR code.
We scan the QR code and tried looking through the menu. It was not user friendly at all and you had to scroll and scroll and scroll to find things you might be looking for. On top of that the beer and even the food was named for the fantasy theme so it was very hard to find what you might be looking for. I would recommend that they redo their online ordering menu layout to make it more friendly. Also there was quite a number of things that were " out of stock". I guess since it's an electronic menu I would prefer they just hide those items when they are out of stock and put them back on when they are available. It just was more than a few, which seemed weird.
Nonetheless, we definitely wanted to try their beer because they are a brewery. I will say though it's very messy in there and observing where the Brew kegs are, it is unorganized and looks almost unused. My sister ordered a flight which was easy to order and came rather quickly, but this was the only thing that came quickly. The beer tastes were odd and one of them tasted like Chinese food 🤷, I think it was the pineapple one. I decided not to order beer, we were also with two other people and they didn't want to either. I wanted to order a mixed drink, however I'm picky about cola so I like to see if they have Pepsi or diet Coke. I scrolled and scrolled and finally found near the bottom of the menu, all they had was Dang! brand soda. I had never had that so I went and asked for a sample try at the bar, it was awful! So, I switched my plan and decided to order a gin and tonic with a lime. The tonic wasn't super bubbly (maybe an opened bottle was used, which can happen), the lime was weird as it seemed dehydrated? but I drank it and it was all fine. A few others at our table ordered specialty cocktails and they said they did like those (I can't remember the names because they were a little odd).
Next we ordered some appetizers. They were really slow to arrive, the onion strings were good with Chipotle ranch dip. Next came the giant pretzel, it was served with 2 very odd dips that we couldn't identify and none of us liked them. They do have a long long list of dip options. I just don't think that we trusted that they would be good either so we didn't order replacements. Last we ordered nachos, we had vegetarians in our group so we did not order the meat, but the cheese sauce was so coagulated we could not eat it. It really was quite awful. In fact, before leaving I told them about it and they did remove that from the bill which was good customer service. However, the bartender made a comment that he has heard that before about the nachos? Why wouldn't they have addressed and improved that item then?
The last person in our group did order a salad which was $15 but was not much bigger than a side salad at a lot of other restaurants. He did add turkey meat and it came in thick slices like you would put on a sandwich?? And it was very dry! Nothing too impressive about his dish. Again, all of it took quite a while to be delivered. They were busy but not overcrowded but seemed to only have 2 gentlemen working so maybe that was the issue. The staff was friendly but the rest of the experience was just not good. From the messy atmosphere, to the mediocre drinks and mediocre food, I would not recommend going here.
They do have trivia and other nights with themes and specials, maybe that's how they keep people coming? Maybe the crowd is made up of more regulars that just like this type of thing? I was actually surprised to read some of the other very positive reviews, so obviously it's for some people just not for us.

Faklandia is a great addition to the neighborhood. This place has a good feeling to it - it's young, friendly, and serves good bar food. You can tell they put a lot of effort into this business, and it makes you want to support them.

The building is large, with plenty of outdoor seating, a spacious inside, and a big bar. The atmosphere here is very nice. The owners are young and seem very involved, which is good to see. They also have fun events nights, trivia, and a whole new area for gaming, which ultimately became a whole different flourish spot. Patio is pet and dog friendly.

Everything I've tried here has been good, and their fish fry is especially tasty! Their own beer is good, also. They have an self-order system where you can scan a QR code at your table and order (and pay) right from your phone.

While no one takes orders at the table, they will bring your food out to your table quickly. You can also order directly at the bar.

I've been here many times and will keep coming back. I think you should give Faklandia a try!

I want to enjoy this place so badly but their food is inedible. Their baked fish was overpriced and undercooked, piled high with old bay. Extremely salty and unbalanced. I could not finish it and nobody ever came around to check after dropping it at the table. The margarita I ordered was clearly from a bottle and also terrible.

I’m giving it 3 stars because the ambience is great and the idea should make sense for this location. Hoping they can get the food sorted out.

FIRST TIME VISITOR
I was craving pretzel bites, a soft pretzel, pretzel sticks, whatever had pretzel in it. I probably would have been fine with a pretzel bun quite honestly.

I called Faklandia Brewpub and low and behold, they have a "10 oz warmed pretzel". I ordered it with garlic parm sauce and their signature cheese sauce. Oh my goodness! Delicious....

Thanks to the gentleman that took my call, humored my request and was extremely kind when I picked it up to take home. I may or may not have finished ALL of that said pretzel. Sorry to my family who I thought would have been able to taste this yummy goodness. Can't have any... It's gone!

Not coming back this place was a one and done, the service isn’t a real waiter it’s just ordering food of an app, like yea if you like that go ahead less interaction the better, the food was not enjoyable at all, I tried so hard to find some good points to it but to be honest there’s better at any other place. Atmosphere isn’t really the type I like so it isn’t a place I would enjoy going with friends it would just not be enjoyable in my own sense. Either way if you play card games or anything in that sense this place would be good if you’re into that stuff.

I went there for the first time because I heard it was a “gamer” or “tcg player” type brewery. This is definitely true. The beers are related to the owners fantasy story. Which is awesome! I just got the beer the first time going. I really liked their Paladin Pale Ale. Faklandia is a great place to do some work too. Plenty of space and fast WiFi. The owner and restaurant staff are super nice and great to talk with. Nate will play 2000s Emo and scream which is right up my alley. I went back to try the food just this week. Oh. My. God. The Rueben was divine. One of the best I’ve had. Perfectly cured corned beef, perfect amount on the sandwich, homemade 1000s island dressing was flavorful but not overbearing, and the fries were so damn crispy. I can’t wait to try more. Great place to bring the family or come with friends. There’s a game corner in the back with lots of games to choose from. Or head over to Mana Vault and rip a few packs of Magic or Pokémon while having some brews. Great spot. 5/5 would recommend.

I wanted to like this place, niche environment for game players, nice location, but the food quality, especially for the price wasn’t there. My adult daughter ordered the Mac n cheese which was quite overcooked and the smoked chicken thigh was good but had no business being on a bun they way it fit. Potato pancake was deep fried and served with applesauce and lacked flavor. A sandwich, Mac n cheese and two drinks was over $50. It was my first time there, talking to a waiter would have been nice but there was no greeting but there is a sign to sit wherever, and you have to order through the app so no opportunity for questions, no water, no condiments, no contact until you ordered and it was delivered. Lots of games available, go for that and not the food. Large area w table and chairs that look nice for warm weather. Our server was good but we hardly saw him.

Beer cheese burger (10/10)
Tarot tots (9/10)
Pulled pork burger (10/10)
Mac n cheese (4/10 - very much seems like a box mix)
Cornbread (0/10 - dry as hell I fear and little butter)

Was it okay? Yeah. Would I come back? Maybe. But the pixi stick drink was incredible so maybe for drinks and apps!

But.... guys seriously, the food sucks, the service sucks, the beer sucks, the atmosphere sucks. It's very unwelcoming of this isn't your niche. The food takes forever and the smoke meat.... there's WAY better out there. I don't see them being open much longer. Few years? Maybe? Tops

We stopped in on a Friday night, and Friday in Wisconsin means fish fry. For me, it was fish fry and flights, the fish was cod, my wife ordered the fish, and I ordered the crazy hamburger that had a frozen puck of mack and cheese that was deep fried and placed on top of the burger, It was really good and very filling, they have a good selection in tap so we decided to get a flight of beers and do our own tasting, of all the beers we tried all were good but the cantrip and the pineapple beers stood out to us, the bar and dining area were well lit and everything was nicely spaced out its a very comfortable space, yes we will go back

Faklandia has several things going for it; a good selection of alcohol and cocktails, numerous board games for activities amongst a group, and a friendly staff that seems to care about what they're doing. It fell short for me and my group in a couple of other ways, though.

First, their service is seemingly entirely digital, or at least it was outside. We had no server tending to us, we could only order our food online and have it brought to our table. As a group, our food ended up coming at drastically different times because we didn't order it all at once. We also had to go to the bar to order and refill on water. It may have been possible to order water through the app, though. I have interacted with digital menus at other establishments and I appreciate that this is a holdover from COVID precautions, but in those cases it's always been a matter of reviewing the menu online and then communicating your order to a server, which I much prefer.

The music playing overhead was exclusively metal or metal-like, which is simply a choice that didn't jive much with our group. Your mileage may vary.

The food was inconsistent. 3 of us ordered burgers and they all came cooked at different rates; 1 rare, 1 medium rare, and 1 well done. The meat and the tater tots that accompanied our entrees were somewhat bland, as well. The cheese curds were good, but over-salted. Nobody in my party finished their meals or were interested in taking home leftovers.

I don't think I'll want to return unless their food undergoes a significant increase in quality.

One and done. Ordering was a bust. Although new and advanced no room for substitutions or changes to your meal. Don't get a pizza cuz you can't change a cheese pizza to add an ingredient or you'll find yourself at the bar asking for help. We got our own silverware, had to ask for plates and condiments. Just not accommodating and food was barely so-so. The staff was nice but if you're not a "gamer" I think you're on the back burner. Not impressed. Went to Faklandia on karaoke night and was disappointed with the service. It took me like 10 minutes to get my drink order placed, which was only able to happen when my friend flagged the bartender down. Then while making the drink order I informed the bartender that I would be placing an order for food too, in which I had to have my friend once again flag him down. Throughout the night, the theme stayed about the same as the bartender seemed to give 95% of his attention to one part of the bar (the group with the club mugs). Additionally, I’m not sure if I caught the bartender on a bad day or what, but the dude had a straight up stone face and zero personality/friendliness the whole night to the point where I felt like I was inconveniencing him. Lastly, I’m pretty positive that based on my bill price, I didn’t receive my bogo beer, which is disappointing. Overall, I’d describe my experience as “meh”. Do better Faklandia!

Order from your table using a QR code. The atmosphere may be better than the late Friday night we were here, although the small crowd doing karaoke was entertaining.

First and foremost, the food was great! We had the BAM Burger (not pictured), the Brisket Platter, a side Caesar Salad, and Fried Cheese Curds.

The BAM Burger had an apricot-bacon jam AND slices of bacon which didn't seem quite necessary. It was great, but a bit overmuch on the bacon.

The brisket was PERFECT, IMHO. It was chopped, crispy in parts, not dry at all, and the sauce was sweet, spicy, and tangy. #chefskiss (as they say) Also, the seasoned fries were really nice. Very flavorful.

The cheese curds were also very good, we had ranch dressing. Piping hot out of the kitchen, ooey, gooey, and delicious.

The Caesar dressing seemed a bit spicy to me. Horseradish, maybe? It was a good salad.

The service was fine and gets 3 stars because it was fairly hands off. They have a really thorough online ordering system using tabletop QR codes which was fine, but we didn't see our servers much outside of delivery of food and drinks. It felt weird to leave our table cluttered. Everyone was nice enough, a few more touch points would have been nice.

The atmosphere was also fine. It was a gorgeous day, so we ate outside. Close to zero patrons inside, which gave it a sad and lonely feel.

Where do I start? 2 Friday fish fry meals with appetizer and 2 warmish beers. Waited 25 mins for app and fish to come out at same time. Excuse we are short staffed (who is not?) And busy not even 12/15 people in entire restaurant. Fry was bad. Fish tasted like oil needs replaced, 1 potato pancake and tots, slaw that looked and tasted old and a slice of bread for 2 $12 meals. So not worth it. Waiter came back when we were done and his only comment was "you done"? Only wanted to eat our $50 meal and leave. Left $1 tip just so the waiter knows we didn't forget.

This is the only place I’ve ever left beer behind. That’s saying something. On top of their skunky beer, we were greeted by a gaggle of Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts who fancied themselves keepers of the brewery. They were super rude. There are so many other Milwaukee breweries that are worth your time and resources.

The food was average at best. They got my order wrong. The waiters basically function only to carry your food 40 feed from the kitchen window to your table and then disappear. They don't even take your order, you place on an app. This would be fine but they still expect a full tip and if you try and opt out of that they still charge you 15%.

I tip at 25% but only for good service. Not for a person to carry my food 40 feet to me. Just let me get up and get it and save myself 20% for a tip.

Don't recommend unless you're looking to drop 50$ on a single person meal between food and forced tip. You will be placing your own order, the food will be bland and uninteresting and there will be a good chance that after your waiter drops off the food you'll have to go find him for any basic things like ketchup for your fries.

Not worth the money or the time.

I have gone to bar trivia here twice and really enjoyed the setup. Currently, they do not have waiters so you order online and an expo/host/bartender just delivers the food or beverages that you order.
The food was really good both times I’ve gone. The pricing is on par with similar venues if not a little cheaper. It seems to be geared toward the Millennial/Gen Z crowd being a tabletop game & fantasy themed bar.
This place should definitely get more attention as its location near the lake is also amazing!
If you think you can appreciate this places’ unique setup, definitely give it a try! (If not, don’t be a Karen about it and move on)

Cute place with friendly staff and a positive atmosphere. Without exception, all 4 people in my party found the food to be below their expectations. There's a better pizza, beer, and burgers at any number of nationwide chains which is disappointing. You order from an app, a throwback to the COVID lockdowns, and it prompts you to leave a 25% tip for bringing your food to the table. This makes the whole experience feel very transactional which runs counter to the otherwise positive atmosphere. This is basically a hip Little Caesars Pizza.

Ultimate nerd bar restaurant for the Milwaukee area! And I mean this in the bestest ways! ;) An adventure awaits every time you check out this bar. For there are new games to be played, a new friends to be made while playing those games. Good variety of seating and great selection at the bar. And who doesn't love some decor from their favorite franchises like Harry Potter, Lord of the rings in Star wars all at once? :)
If not convinced then definitely just come for a night of trivia and you'll see what I mean.

Update April 2023: When we returned Easter, we found the full menu available alongside the Sunday brunch. Again, the service, food, and drinks we found excellent.

Update: We returned on a September Sunday, 2022, and we found the brunch, beers, and booze still satisfying. Before: My Placebo IPA (featuring Centennial Hops) I found most unusual and distinctly scrumptious. My hot Ham (and Swiss cheese) sandwich more than satisfied, during Sunday Brunch, as did my pal's Hangover Burger. We returned to enjoy the breakfast with scrambled (or fried) eggs, etc. - delicious!

Love the concept and the building. Unfortunately, almost all of the beers have that homebrew taste that is closer to water and a severe lack of flavor. There were two bright spots, however. Their blueberry beer and their strawman ale were very well done. They each had loads of flavor and depth, nothing like the rest of their beers. Really nice staff as well. I just wish they made better beers.

Unfortunately the quality and service dramatically dropped after switching to ordering from the app.

Not only do you not get service, so you might as well door dash elsewhere. But when we ordered 2 medium rare, or "pink" burgers, we got one pink with raw bacon and one burnt with burnt bacon.

The cheese curds were so overcooked that the were like an awkward dry gum.

Another time we went there, the mozzarella sticks didn't have any cheese in them from sitting in the frier too long.

When we told them about the problem with the order last time, they just grabbed the food and walked away. They said if it wasn't good, they would get rid of it but never replaced it...

The app ordering has removed all of the responsibility on the waiting staff and service has dropped to an all time low...

It's really sad to see because we used to go there weekly and referred it to a bunch of people and now myself and them have all had similar experiences.

Disappointed to see such a good restaurant drop their quality so much.

Now they're not much more than just another dive bar with expensive beer...

I just have to say the past few times we've gone here the entire experience and food has gone down and down each time. The first time here was great - pizza, beer, and service were awesome. That was at least 2 years ago though. The most recent time here (2 weeks ago) was not great. The service was poor (but the servers themselves were very nice) and very impersonal with the new way of ordered on your phone. I don't even know the name of the server as he didn't tell us. We had our 4 year old and baby with us and sat outside. The patio is great and the music was awesome!

The beer was okay, not bad but nothing amazing. The food was subpar... mostly due to the fact that the food was forgotten, got cold, attempted to be reheated, and then was gross. My daughter said the pizza was disgusting and she was right, I couldn't eat more than one bite. It was NOT like their old pizza, which used to be so good. My husband said his pulled pork was okay but was cold in some bites and lukewarm otherwise. His cornbread was dry and inedible.

AFTER we paid on the app and decided to just call it a night to go home and feed our now very hungry and grumpy child, the server admitted it was his error and he'd forgotten our pizza and sandwich. He didn't admit his mistake (which I understand happens) until after my child said the cheese pizza was disgusting. I'd already paid and he didn't appear to know what to do. He ended up giving us a few free beer cards that are essentially useless because we probably won't be coming back.

I emailed them 11 days ago about our poor experience and no one has contacted me back in that time. All we would have liked was a refund on the pizza and sandwich meal.

I will say that my fish fry was really good and that came out in a timely fashion.

Stopped in for a berevage so I can't comment on the food. Staff was very attentive and helpful, tasted thru most of their beer list, till I settled on a marzen. I don't usally leave or haven't had to, to leave a negative review, but the beer list was heavy on various takes on hefewizen, which I like, however, they all beers were very thin, poorly carbonated with very poor head retention. As a home brewer from way back in the day, I would be hard pressed to be very proud of that batch. Now this a single sampling and I'm hopeful that was a perfect storm of circumstances that wasn't representing the usual product. I will go back to see if it was just a bad batch.
